Dib’s eyes widened in shock at the split second where Zim’s old self had just flashed across his face. His jaw gaped as those words rung mercilessly through his head, and he could honestly admit to himself that those words were sincere. It was then that he had the sudden desire to help the suffering Irken rather than fight him and try to rid himself of him for good. A moment later, the boy grabbed hold of the Irken’s arms and pulled him towards his chest before standing. “I’ll… try, Zim..” He whispered before running downstairs and screaming at the computer. “Help me fix him!! There has to be some way to stop this!”
"Are you crazy??" The computer questioned. "That thing is vicious!!" It cautioned him, as if the boy wasn’t already aware. Zim was already screeching and gurgling again from being restrained, thrashing back and forth in his arms.

“I’m not crazy!!” Dib screamed, desperately trying to plead his case. “Let me go!!” The boy struggled to get free but to no avail.
The two nurses held firmly to the distressed and thrashing child. Another man wrapped the corpse of the dog in a blanket. "We'll have him buried in the pet cemetery." He stated to the boy, hoping it would ease his mind a bit.
The mention of the pet cemetery hardly calmed Dib, making him flail and scream more loudly. “NO! Don’t bury him there! Just give him back!” He looked to the doctor now in pure distress and agony. “I didn’t kill him I swear… Just let me go!”

Dib’s hurried pace soon slowed to a steady walk as he got closer to Zim’s base. He delayed getting there as he was both afraid and nervous of what he may find here. He actually started to second guess if this was the best thing to do, but he arrived before he knew it. Once it were visible across the road from him, Dib stopped and stared at it for a short time. He drew in a deep breath, whispering unsure words of encouragement before starting closer towards it.
Zim's base looked pretty similar on the outside, except for where his gnomes keeping his house protected had been destroyed. Though, it did seem to have an eerie aura around it which was something that hadn’t been present in the past.
