At the exact moment you were on your way to meet your childhood friend Arthur at the park. You've know the Brit ever since the two of you could talk, and you've been close ever since. You've been through various tribulations with him and you've been there for each other through it all.
When he called you earlier, he urgently stated that you needed to meet him at the park. Of course you were worried about why this meeting would be so urgent. Except at the same time you were glad he had asked you. It's your typical cliché, fairytale, Hollywood romance. You fell in love with the boy next door. Figuratively speaking of course. Saying you fell in love with your best friend is a more appropriate way of stating it though.

"You okay ____, I heard you yelling at your Chemistry work. You do know it can't respond back right?" he joked.
You grabbed a pillow that was on your bed and threw it with all the strength you could muster at the tall Dane. Hitting him square in the jaw he let out an inaudible sound, muffled by the pillow; which fell straight to the ground.
Muffling a few curse words he picked the pillow off the ground and chucked it at you. Not amused by his games you caught the pillow mid air and chucked it back at him. This time hitting his shoulder.

You cast a glance around the room, the floor was a black speckled linoleum, curtains in front of you giving the room it's own small stage. Posters of musicals and plays hung scattered on the green walls. The class was filled with talking and sounds of laughter from the many students in the fourth period class.
"Apparently we have a culminating project to do today." Elizaveta stated, trying to talk over the noise.

And shrieking rose she from her knees and cried out to me, "Father, please--
That thing is not and will never be the son that I had longed to see!
See for yourself what I have made, oh God, it's with my soul that I have paid!"
And sure enough from blankets red were empty eyes sunk in its head,
And from its hair came little horns and razor teeth, a mouth of thorns.
We took the bundle to the fire in the furnace 'neath the spire,
And though in coals we had it turn, the cursed thing, it would not burn.

Gentlemen, today I speak to you
To convey an issue that has plagued the core of our community.
For so long have we been considered second-class;
To this day there are those who still believe that we are not artists.
But today is not about freedom, today is about honour,
Because there are many writers that still seek to shame us all...
I speak of those individuals, who take art from others.
Covers, photos, paintings, digital art, anime and manga.
It matters not where you draw your source from,
But every action impacts upon us as a community.

When I craft my works, when I write each and every line,
I paint using expression; metaphors are my colours.
The words are my brush and each and every rhyme is my medium.

She Dances With FireShe dances with fire, a dragon in tow.She Dances With Fire in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Twirling with flames; graceful and slow
She dances tonight, in a city of ash.
Her feet leaving footprints, where the sand will splash.
Quietly mourning, as time goes by;
Where once she beheld a home in her eyes...
Yet naught but the barest of bones remain,
And so she dances, to soothe the pain.
AnorexiaMeet a girl named No One, with a heart of shattered stoneAnorexia in Free Verse More Like This
Staring at the other girl, the one that's not alone
Girl with skin that glistens, with the eyes of crystal seas
Grin of shining diamonds and a laugh like a disease
Flashes just a glance and soon, she's every trouble's cure
She has everything… and No One's off to be like her.
Eating turns into a crime, she'd rather be away
Thrusting fingers down her throat to make herself okay
Watching as her very bones are seen behind her flesh
There she drowns in tears, for she has not yet seen success.
Minutes turn to hours, and these hours turn to days
Every moment slipping, slowly fading into grey
Rapidly, her body turns to nothing but her bones
As she fights for beauty, as she battles for the throne.
Broken hearts must learn to beat, and this she came to know
Learning it the hard way when her heartbeat grew too slow
Yet, she somehow managed still to shine from what's within
Lying in her casket with her hidden, unseen sin.

I have told the harshest truths, and I have told some lies
I have seen a child cry into its mother's arms
I have been that weeping girl who held onto self-harm
I have heard the laughter of a man about to die
I have seen the anger resting deep within their eyes
I have been the victim of my own disgusting thoughts
I have seen the best of people slowly start to rot
I have felt the heartache; I have seen a love go blue…
So much time is left to spare, but so much less to do…

In a Little Girl's MindThere sits the girl with the things in her eyesIn a Little Girl's Mind in Free Verse More Like This
Monsters, destruction, and sweet butterflies
Hopscotch and daisies, surrounded by screams
Beautiful dresses now torn at the seams
Crayons and paintbrushes, villains and grins
Young, gladsome innocence, hatred and sins
Little red houses on roads left to fade
Gorgeous moonlight shining off of the blade
Blood pouring out as she cries her own name
Knowing she's forced to take each bit of blame
She could have stopped it and left it behind
All of these things in her troubled young mind
She could have saved them if she dared to try
Rather, though, she left herself there to die.
Now, others watch as she sits on the ground
Keeping their distance and letting her drown
In her own worries and things she won't tell
Waiting for her mind to kill her as well…

“Suck it up.”
And the worst?
“Get over it.”
I’m not just sad. I suffer from depression
Waiting for happiness’s resurrection.
I can’t just forget it, it’s in me for good
I can’t do the things that I know I should.
I’m not just sad. I’m broken. I’m lost.
I’ve tried everything to fix it, no matter the cost.
I’ve carried a blade just to hold to my wrist.
I’ve carried a dream inside of my fist.
I’ve talked about it, like they say I should do
But all my efforts are stopped by ignorant people like you.
“You’re just sad.”
“Suck it up.”
And the worst?

My NightmareMy Nightmare in Free Verse More Like This
It is half past twelve
And I'm tossing in bed
I think I hear you
But that is all in my head
This is the third night this week
I toss and wake to my screams
In my nightmares you live
When once you were part of my dreams
I grip my pillows tight
And cry out so many tears
But if I close my eyes again
The blackness returns me to my fears
In my dreams
I can see the pain
As death took you from me
I relive that dreadful hour
And this is what I see
There I am
Holding you in my arms
And giving you a tender kiss
When from behind
A monster with a knife
Stole my love and bliss
He stabbed you deep in the back
With a knife as dark as his eyes
And falling to your knees
My heart broke
And life lost all her ties
I try to comfort you
In my arms
Tell you everything will be okay
But that monster laughs
And kicks me in the face
Before running away
I crawl to crouch over your body
Holding you tight to my chest
You try to speak
But the blood trickles
Down your mouth
To Never ReturnTo Never Return in Free Verse More Like This
To Never Return
He was my immortal love.
Eternal light fed his veins,
And he gave himself to my fangs.
For that he was a tortured angel.
Like a plague who has found it's prey,
My craving could not be quenched,
For I was a vampire captivated,
Undead, yet dying in his arms.
I drank deeply of his soul,
Devouring his flesh,
I drew him deeper into my abyss.
And with every bite, his light withered.
And with me, his wings delved deeper.
And the more I consumed,
The more we were torn asunder.
We were both lost.
I was to die.
He was to never return…

To LoveTo Love in Free Verse More Like This
Love is a powerful emotion.
Not as strong as devotion,
For it is a dangerous potion.
It snares the heart and stops all motion
Thus it is spoken,
"Love is a precious token
to valuable for mortals to possess,
yet to great for the gods to confess."
I do protest!
To find it,
You must seek it,
And if you should fail,
Your desire will be your despair!
Yet I am that crazy fool
Possessed by my desire.
Where love can be cruel
Passion burns me like fire.

Purple ButterflyPurple Butterfly in Free Verse More Like This
With gentle wings
With hopes and dreams
You skirted across tall green grass
In the eve of my sorrow
Hovering through the air
As I came to pass
Oh how fragile and innocent you were
As you landed upon a blossoming rose
And there I caught you my dear friend
Cupped in my hands in gentle repose
Oh how I loved you my purple butterfly
And never did I intend to harm thee
Or ever damage your precious wings
For my love was true and given eternally
So my purple butterfly
I have learned to let you go
To be free once again
To love on your own
Please forgive me my dear friend
May God bless you on your journey
As I now face my ultimate end
Alone this hour before me

Throbbing ScarThrobbing Scar in Free Verse More Like This
Kindred spirits kindle candle-lit moments caressing confessions of love
But battered fools beckon for better bestowals before falling…
Victims to vicarious vanities.
Yet my soul now suffers
Suspended in sacrificial soliloquy
Since your seductive serenades stopped.
Its been too long…
Now my mind is like a fettered web
With vanished thoughts wrapped in your empty bed…
And my body is a poisoned ocean
With bruised flesh spoiled by your toxic love potion.
See, for my heart is a throbbing scar
With bloody stitches torn by your probing fingers from afar.
My lips are parched black roses
With blistered thorns protruding like your treacherous horns…
And now my eyes are like shattered stars
With shards of pearl light lost in the fires of your callous words.
I confess I cannot go on
I carelessly collided into cupid's arrow
Now your cancerous love has corroded my copious world.
Could God but cut me gracefully that I may never see you again?

This is a poem to no one
But to the world
Where is life and love,
When there is so much pain?
You know of what I speak.
The endless lines and rhymes
Scribbled by desperate souls
Such as you,
Such as I,
Seeking, searching, praying
For what else but freedom.
But that freedom you fool
Is the illusion.
Could you ever see why?
Why pain is the chain
That weighs our souls down.
Why freedom is nothing more
Than the walls of our prison.
You may break free of none
And live a simple life
But I no longer can.
And still, and still I'm trapped.
I've clawed at these tiled walls
All these many years.
Now my bloody fingertips
No longer feel the salty tears
As I wipe them across my face.
So you see my unfortunate friend
The walls are my flesh
And the chain, my lonely thoughts.
No matter how deep I dig and tear
No matter how much crimson tape I bled
These very walls,
My tortured soul could not have fled,
So this night my tired feet will float
In a porcelain pool drawn
