What homework judges hadWell, each judge had to choose 8 semi-finalists from each category (there was drawing category and painting/coloring category). Here in the journal I posted top 10 drawings/paintings which got most votes, from each category (paintings in journal are not in order from many to less votes...it's random).

As mentioned, slowly moving this project aside for now. First, the results of that "Watchers Feature!" test some of you helped with: after 2 weeks there's still less Favs than people featured on the latest one http://diamond4girl.deviantart.com/journal/WATCHERS-FEATURE-pt-23-318773207 , but nonetheless, with some more Favs than usual, the feature ended up in the Footer for about a day and half and your works have been seen by 3-4 times more people than usual. (1100+ on the latest one vs. >400 views on the few previous ones). Thank you all who helped with the test.

A daily deviation is a feature of a submission. Please note that 'masterpiece', 'artwork' and other words are not mentioned in that particular FAQ.
Another thing that is often misunderstood is the face that there is a volunteer for most galleries on deviantART. I can't feature from Digital Art, Traditional Art, Literature, Photography, etc; only from deviantART Related. In most cases, volunteers can only feature from one parent or sub gallery.

Photo editing is fun. It gives you a chance to add something to your photos, and really bring out expressions you may or may have not realised were there. Lately, I've been obsessed with retro and vintage editing effects in my editing, to try and replicate film photographs. Of course, it's impossible to replicate actual film photos, but I think that's what makes it fun: you can do anything you want and it doesn't matter if it looks realistic or not. It's about artistic freedom, and enjoying yourself! I've found myself in a vast world of endless possibilities and I can't wait to continue and try new things. I've found that it's a difficult category to work in, since there's not such a large support community for it on deviantART, but I enjoy it nonetheless!

Every user on deviantART has a certain symbol in front of their name, and their symbol represents what "type" of account they have, or what "role" they play in the community.
In :faq106:, you can read who has what symbol, but I don't think that FAQ does a very good job as far as educating people on what the symbols actually mean.
So I hope to be able to write good definitions for the most common user symbols in this article!
