Poetic Practice - Love Like AshPoetic Practice - Love Like Ash:
Yes sir, he is clinging to insanity.
He remembers all the things he said, profanity.
Bare the shame on his naked old humanity.
He is the doll claiming love for his vanity-
When he woke up, desire!
He made a move like fire.
His whispers; a liar,
His heart snaps, like wire!
But what are you thinking of this man as I make him out?
Is it an image or a type that you seem to tout.
was it all his fault with no one else to blame,
Or were there cracks in the story that they both will claim-
Spit that and live that,
Hate when you love that!
You rip that and tear that,
Scream like you know that!
Stop for a moment and just listen to this silent cry,
Time has stopped now for both of us to say goodbye.
Both turning on these clocks, living lies that have stopped;
And when the love turns to ash, let the gloves be dropped...

Memories of WarMemories of War:Memories of War in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
What is this long-lost memory inside?
Where oceans turn; what have we left behind
With star-burned wings out above the sky.
The sleeping sons are lovingly left to lie...
A thousand tears you've cried for all,
Now its time for you to fall!
Will you open up the door,
To the future we ignore?
Are you simply lying broken,
From the memory awoken;
Are you simply living lies,
Bitter taste with ropes you tie...
And the world will soon forget.
Fill my heart with this regret?
For the victims written in stone.
Unspoken sin you now atone...
Yeah I've seen this world where we livin' in pain,
Wrap my body round with chain.
Now we both know we be broken;
Give this man his smokin' token.
Held up guns with both his hands;
Not a boy he's cause he's a man.
Order comes by a suit and hand.
Will you flee or will you stand?
This is a memory of our war,
Of all the things that we can't ignore.
And staying blind to the cries of pain...
Will lonely ashes be what remai
Tired, Exhausted, DrainedTired, Exhausted, Drained:Tired, Exhausted, Drained in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
I am bloody exhausted! Drained to the core of my soul.
I wake up every morning with bags; burning ever deeper into my eyes.
Sunken masses of flesh, reminding me that the dreamscape -
One in which I sought refuge; is now buried where it lies.
Yet still I force myself to trudge through this wilderness.
Forever caught in a moon drenched, delusory twilight.
An endless cycle of failure and renewed hope;
Giving rise to the very stubbornness that defines me.

How many days do you spend now, putting me down?
The coffin call for a dead man waiting around
"He's just an underground laughing stock, never to rise"
But on the seventh day I'm coming back; these are my ties!
The kind of promise that you made with the devil inside
You try to take away my soul, but I take it in stride
I ain't a doll that is crushed by the weight of his pride
I am the real and the raw of the things you denied!
You're playing snake games, selling oil, pass it off strong
You're just a pot head, weed dead, smoking your bong.
You try to look away, play and hide; apathy's best
But I'm the kind of bad boy you don't put to the test!

When I was young I was taught that pain begets pain,
Anger and animosity, malice and cruelty;
So deeply inflicted, so lovingly gifted.
I tasted of its rotten core and dared to call it sweet.
But what do I have to show for it?
White hot scars that burn in my dreams.
Reminders of a fragmented bi-polar self;
Self inflicted propaganda, to reinforce the "truth".
Truth so lovingly fabricated by a weakness within,
So desperately crying out for vindication;
Openly denying all that might shed light upon me,
Seeking only the company of shades in shadows...
Within four walls I sleep in exile;
Quietly pretending that I am still sane,
Never noticing how it has all turned out;
Alone I remain the same...
Never reaching, never living; I am free within the cage

Let perversion be writ in these scars I will trace.

Are the names of those sleepers so cold and so young...

The Way We LiveThe Way We Live:The Way We Live in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
We all have our own little struggles;
Pushing on forward as the tragedies double.
A life led with pain and exhaustion too immense,
I'm pushing down walls as my muscles go tense.
But these are the words that you'll never hear me spit.
I'd never say I'm 'giving up' or if I should 'quit'.
I'm really freaking stupid so just tell it to my face,
And even then I'd never give up the right to race.
I'm like a lone arrow drawn and shot from a bow,
Blustered by the winds of all the things I don't know.
I'd never figure out if I'd reach the final mark,
But I know that I'd never lose my glowing inner spark.
And that's all it takes just to keep this body going.
With calloused hands in this ocean I'm still rowing
Searching for some land out amidst a sea of black;
A wandering gypsy bearing burdens on his back.

Down into well, poor Timmy fell,
Down he fell into the pits of hell.
Brought into hell by an eldritch spell,
Poor little Timmy who fell down the well.
Alone he cowered and shivered and shook,
He shook for hours, so long it took,
So long it took for him to feel well,
Well enough to explore this hell...
Through pathways littered with scenes most gory;
Most gory indeed was little Timmy's story,
A story of fear and suffering defined,
Poor little Timmy, he ran out of time...
Now then, I think I'll go welcome my little guest...

Why I never shut up.Knowledge speaks but wisdom listens and ignorance is bliss.Why I never shut up. in Free Verse More Like This
It is this combination of quotes that explain my life.
Why I never shut up, I know too much, I don't even know how or why,
Sometimes I ramble on about something I've only just started to form.
I'm only just about to start grasping the concept, yet all I say is true,
I don't know how my mind works, but I know it can vex you.
I never shut up, because I just know so much,
I always have to be right, purely because I am right.
I have and had some weird hobbies, learning things people don't,
I have to say it's quite fun, knowing what others don't.
But you see, ignorance is bliss, and as I know more and more, I become more cynical.
I used to be a Christian, you know, devoutly religious.
Inside every cynical person, there is, however broken and damned, an idealist.
I was an idealist of religion, then I managed to work out the universe itself,
And you know what came with that knowledge? Heart breaking reality.
There is no God,
Everything in life.I need to hurt myself... No, you don't.Everything in life. in Concrete Poetry More Like This
I did this... I need to hurt myself for it.
It won't go away if you do, you know it won't.
But everything in life has its consequence...
Maybe if I hurt myself, then I won't have to feel them,
Maybe it'll be consequence enough, if I'm hurt then.
Maybe she won't dump me for what I did too,
Maybe it'll be consequence enough for what I did to you.
I don't get why you're worried though...
But I dream the future, read my poetry, sometimes, I do.
And a few nights I felt a crossover, a nightmare come true,
And now I know that it has happened, because of what I did to you.
So now, I need to hurt myself, to give me a consequence,
So now, I need to fade away, and never be spoken of since.
And now, I want to hurt myself, to save myself more pain,
But all things come to an end, and it's always the same.

So here I lie, discarded, fearing to stand up,
Because what waits just isn't worth getting up.
Thrown away and lying in a puddle of mud and blood,
All the other times I got up, and wiped off the mud.
But this time, as I lie here, broken and bloody,
I don't want to get up, I want to be a dead body.
I know getting up is inevitable, because I will never give in,
But I really just want to give up and say that "I'm done in."

can you not see this loathing becoming even more deep?
Halt in your useless words of comfort, telling me everything will be okay—
how can you say such things so simply, when you are never here day by day?
Refrain from acting as if you can turn my world from bleak to bright—
when was the last time you truly changed every wrong thing to right?
It was such a simple pleasure, back in those days;
just one word from you made gold from the grays.
A luxury it was, I now see that more clear than glass;
for those times are done and gone, having long since passed.
Indulgence was my sin whenever thoughts of you jolted through my brain;
it is a laughing matter at how correspondence with you now causes me pain.

Sometimes I think my eyes will run dry,
yet whenever I do, I just continue to cry.

Daddy, you don't know how much your words fill me with sorrow.
"Can't you just be civilized?! Stop acting like a child, and apologize right now!"
Mommy, please don't make this worse, or I'll run outside and hide in the snow.
Mommy, Daddy, I wish you would just stop everything and be happy again.
I'm hiding under the blankets, writing these words down with a pen.
Mommy, Daddy, can't you see?
You're tearing my heart into one, two, three.

I see lies flicker behind smiling eyes.
I want to comfort the people in pain.

I feel the pain others sense.
I touch the inner tears we hide.
I worry that individuals are in agony.
I cry for those who hide in a crowd.
I am the loud but hidden girl.
I understand not everyone can be blissful.
I say it is something the whole world should fight for.
I dream of a life full of smiles.
I admire those who strive to help these people.
I try to hold back the hurt from others.
I hope to change the views of another.
I am the loud but hidden girl.

Exceed your limits, turn away your falls, shall the trials begin beneath the walls?
Oh yes, they shall, my dearest thing, for your fate will rest within this ebony ring.
Such glory was enthralled into my soul, how you plead for its power, its superiority, its toll.
Though alas you've proven not worthy of it all, hence your death shall be remarkable, forever now you shall fall.

Alas flight is what you truly need, hence why your fate is for us to read.
In the air your body is thrown, whisked upon the dead; let your soul hear them moan.
Thrust forth and forgotten by the stain of blood, absorb the monstrosity from within the flood.
Bested by glasses and long dark coat, your flesh reeks a stench; thou shall be thrown in the moat.
Left to freeze and burn from the flames, thou is forevermore forgotten; the end of our games.

It does not matter, not anymore, for her immortality is dominance; thou art no more.

Caring and respectful,
With little in the way of hardship.
You were raised in the highest of class,
Given the highest of education,
Praised to your heart's content.
You were troubled as life continued,
A family once united torn apart,
Words sharpened to daggers.
You were forced to run,
Hunted by prior family for sport,
Thrown into the gutters you made.
You were found by the kindest of men,
Not tainted by money or power,
Welcoming you in like one of their own.
You were never given a reason to smile,
Never given a reason to hope,
Until you met the ones you cast aside.
You were overjoyed the day you met,
A permanent smile adorning your face,
Walking off with the family of your dreams.

This is the story of a man
Born at the feet of others,
Forgotten in society.
His childhood lived out in the gutter,
His education in survival.
A diet of second-hand morsels,
Given up by the bowels of a gleaming city.
Money a foreign concept to him;
His only possessions the clothes on his back.
His filth a blanket, shielding him from false beauty.
Men and women scoff as they pass,
Calling him names too obscene to utter.
But despite the hate,
Despite the hunger, he stays "happy."
He stays happy in face,
A permanent smile
Stretched across his lips;
A desecrated mind,
hidden behind blind eyes.

You thought you were falling?
A dream was all it was,
But it felt as real as a slap to the face.
The wind distorting your cheeks,
Deadened arms turned to a bloody sponge.
Tiny dots becoming giant mountains,
A rounded Earth pushed flat.
Tears stripped away from your face,
Replaced by streams of water in a cloud.
Your body reaching out to the widening Earth,
Urged on by the one thing you could never control.
Soundless screams being shoved down your throat,
Hands gripping out for any sort of savior.
Your hands reach out one last time,
A much smaller pair reaching back in anticipation.
Joy is the new expression you wear,
As you plummet down towards this child.
But as hands touch and eyes meet,
You never stop falling.
Right through the child and earth,
Through everything that crosses your path.
A fall that never ends,
Dreamt by a woman who never awoke.

Boils of red and black staining the skin.

Gauze coverings hiding true pain from sight
Restless nights haunting men wrapped and burning
The only sleep these men can find in pain
Is riddled with blackness and cold and death.
