Fire and smoke... that's all that I could remember...
...Everything was hurting.... where was I? The smoke had started to clear some, but my eyes couldn't seem to focus on anything, it was all blurry... something green, I could see something green everywhere, and brown, below all the green was brown.
Red danced around me, coming from parts of gray stuck in the brown... why were my ears ringing so bad?
“Holy... are you seeing this Tanner?” Comes from off to my right, it was tinny, must have been the ringing, I try to look that way and everything flashes red, and I let out a roar of pain, but something was wrong, it was wispy, no strength to it, and my chest burned.
“It's alive too, damn!” Says another voice, something had started up out in the distance... what was it? Barking?
“Agh, we don't have time for this, they're still hunting for miracle man here. Getting close too.” says one I haven't heard before...

I wake to the sound of the A/C turning on with my face buried in my pillow like usual. I push myself up and over to the left side of the bed, I just sit there for a few minutes trying not to fall back to sleep, shaking my head, i reach over and grab my phone turning it on and checking the time " 4:59?" i mumble as I set it back down and stand up. Stretching, I look around my bedroom. In front of me was the walk in closet... nothing interesting there, behind me sat a lovely window that would shine light into my face each morning if i slept in to long, right to the left of it was "the center" a jumbled mass co

I still had time left.... maybe just under three hours, until I could get a look at all those files that I took off their servers. I lean away from the table and keep watch at the crowds in my vision, his words had made me paranoid, just them knowing that I was alive was bad enough, but to know where I was and have someone like that keep watch? I look up to see mom holding a box about two feet wide and half as long held under one arm. As usual, I made my way to the library, toting a large bag full of work to boot. I was counting down to the big national examinations, which were but a week away. Left before my first paper, and I was nowhere as prepared as I would have liked to be…
I strolled into the library, the blast of cool air from the escaping air conditioning providing a refreshing respite from the hot muggy air of the outside. I made my way to the second floor where the study tables were. However, I was somewhat disappointed to find most of the tables already taken. I spent some time walking around, looking for a seat.
Eventually, I settled for a seat in a reasonably lit corner, and took out my materials and began to study. I was presently focusing on math, because mildly put, I had done horrendously in that subject in the preliminary examinations and was hoping to salvage the situation. But then again, that was more or less the case for all my subjects… I was t

I groaned, as my classmates and I started running. It was only the first week of school, yet the PE department had already gone all out with its physical training programme. As we ran along the track, several of us began to complain about the programme. Obviously, no one had worked out during the holidays. To add to our misery, the track was wet, and the water was constantly splashing onto our legs and shoes, making the running experience worse.
After three rounds around of the track, ninety pushups, dips and crunches later, we dragged ourselves back to class, retrieved our bags and left school, as PE was our last lesson of the day. I knew for sure that my body would be aching for the rest of the week.

The alarm beeped and the lights came on in the bunk, breaking me out of the embrace of my slumber. However, I opened my eyes a tad too slowly, for I was promptly smacked in the snout with a pillow thrown by my buddy, Samuel.
“Get up. 5.30 already!” He quipped, shaking me awake. Most of the humans in my platoon were more or less used to having me, a dragon, around, and treated me the same as everyone else. This included rude awakenings.
“Stop it, bitch! I’m awake!” I mumbled into the pillow, as I peeled myself off the bed and reached into my cupboard habitually, to look for a pair of glasses that I no longer needed. I still kept them at home, though, as a momento of when I was human. As usual, when I opened the cupboard door, a dragon's head stared out at me. It was bright red, with a pair of yellow horns, plus yet another smaller one on the tip of the snout. Along the back of the head, on either side, ran two sets of three slightly shorter white horns. The clear blue eyes stared out at me blankly. It was the head that belonged to my fursuit, with the rest of the suit kept in another bit of the cupboard itself, folded nearly.

"Alright, gentlemen, your 12 km route march will begin shortly, after which you'll be transiting directly to your field camp site. Understand?" Barked the sergeant, at the bunch of us recruits who had already formed up in our rows, ready to start the march.
Field camp is arguably the apex of a recruit's training, in which 4 days are spent living in the field, in this case the forest. It is the time when the sergeants get sadistic, sleep is lost, yet new things are still learnt. What ran through my mind as I shouted an affirmative together with the rest of the company was what our commander had said to us some time back, 'After field camp, you'll all see things differently, very differently. You'll come out a changed man and more importantly, a soldier.'
As we marched off, I couldn't help but wonder how things would go for the next four days...
At least morale was high, and as we marched, we began to sing.

While I'm honoured that you'd like to read my works, I regrettably have to inform you that this story has been discontinued after eight chapters and a sidestory merge. There won't be any more chapters in this story, sadly.
I am however working on a new project that will hopefully outshine this old gal - it's going to be released some time in the future, and I hope you'll be there to read that was well.
If you can deal with this story ending abruptly with no end in sight, then by all means read on, and dream.
People dream. It's natural. Daydreams you usually control and you can make them whatever you want. Sometimes they get forgotten, sometimes they spring back to life after a long time, or just a heartbeat. Sometimes, they come true.
Last year, I stayed home from school two days because of stomach pains. My mother thought it was some kind of odd flu, mainly because she had it t

Where am I? I was in the car; we were driving home from the police station. I don't understand.
I reach up to my head. My paw comes back bloody. Where am I?

"Dad? Dad?!" My voice breaks.
I reach out for him, aching from the impact everywhere. I put a shaky paw on him. His chest is rising up and down slowly and irregularly, but at least he's breathing.

“I’ve gotten his name so far, but not much else. He seems to have some trouble understanding and speaking – frankly, I think just remembering his name was an effort.” I said, looking at Benjamin in the sofa. He was scanning the room with a haggard look on his face, as if he couldn’t really make heads or tails of what was happening. I can’t blame him, I suppose. Judging by his difficulty with speech, he had had either little to none contact with people, or been out of touch for a very long time. Most of the time I had spoken to him, all I’d gotten as a reply was a confused look and a faint hum every now and then.
“He seems wary and afraid – I’m a bit afraid myself to be honest.” Dad said and shook his head. He nodded slightly in the gen
Dreams - Chapter ThreeI heard a small chirping sound from my left. I looked there, and to my surprise I saw a small sparrow sitting on the roof tile next to me. It was looking curiosly at me with its head tilted to one side. It did not seem to fear me one tiny bit, possibly due to the fact that it had never seen something like me before. I slowly extended one of my claws towards it, and it hopped onto it. Bringing it up to my face, I peered closer. It eyed me conspiciously for a few seconds before fluttering over to one of my horns. I glanced at it in wonder. Brave thing, that.Dreams - Chapter Three in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"Hey there, fella." I said to the bird. It chirped back in response. I smiled, gazing out over the landscape before me. The entire valley below me was covered in glistening white snow. The road that ran from one end of the valley to the other stood out like a soot streak on a white paper. Very few cars ever came by due to the fact that the highway had been moved further away, making the place where we live a very calm place. I breath

Pushing myself up from the floor, I maneuvered around the black dragon and opened the door. The sunlight stung my eyes in sharp contrast to the dark interior of the military rover as I stuck my head outside. My father had already gotten out of the front seat and looked at me.
I gestured at the house. "Clear out the sofa – we'll need to get him indoors in a safe position. "
He nodded, and pointed at the rover. "You don't need any help getting him out and inside?" he asked.
"Sure, but I need a place to put him first."
I turned back into the car, assessing the situation. If he had sustained damage, there was no knowing what additional injury we might cause by moving him around too much, but leaving him in the rover wasn't really an option either. He didn't have an

"Whoa, whoa. Slow down. I think there's been a misunderstanding." I said slowly. Shitshitshitshit. I am so screwed.
"Put your han- Put your claws in the air!" He yelled at me again.
Slowly, I raised my paws above my head. My tail was tense as a cable behind me, clearly a reflex in preparation for a battle. Not today, bro. I hope. The officer motioned for me with his gun to move away from Jim. I cautiously stepped to the side, focusing on coming up with something resembling a plan.
"Ahahah! I told you so! See? See? It's a bloody monster!" I heard Ben shout from behind a car.
"Will you shut up for just one second? We can see for ourselves." Another voice said.
A second cop nervously walked up to me, keeping his gun aimed directly at my muzzle. His eyes were darting around like a madmans, a sure sign

My oldest sister had been pestering me for a long time and was now repeatedly pulling one of my wings. Eric had gone home a little while ago, under the pretence that he shouldn't be disturbing me during such a "delicate matter" as he called it. Personally, I would not have minded him being here when I showed myself to the rest of my family, but the choice was his.
Right now, sitting in our sofa, I had put up with getting pullled, prodded and poked for five or ten minutes. I am a patient man(dragon), but even I have my limits.
"Sorry." She said, not showing any signs of stopping at all. "This is just so amazing! You have, for christ's sake, turned into a blasted Dragon!"
"Yeah, tell me about it. Now give me that!" I let out a low growl by mistake, jerking my wing out of her grasp.
She stuck out her tounge, rolled her eyes and said;

The healer of the village, an old woman named Anita, entered the room. She was holding a bowl of steaming liquid, which she offered the boy. He attempted to drink it, but started coughing violently after a few sips. Sighing, the old woman shook her head.
"Natasha, I can do no more. He's been sick for over a week now, and none of my teas have had any effect." She said, placing an old wrinkled arm around the mother's shoulders.
"Are you certain? There is no hope?" She whispered in a broken voice.
"I am sorry. There is only one person I know of that is better at herbs and medicine than me, and he..." The preacher shot her a warning glance. "well, you know...." The healer trailed off.

Beginnnings - Part OneDawn broke; bathing the land below with golden sunrays. The green rolling hills basked in the light, while the morning fog captured it, gaining a warm yellow glow. The old woods seemingly took a breath of the life that hummed in the air, awakening the robins and small birds that nested within the boughs. They fluttered out into the howling wind, allowing themselves to be carried away into the distance. The wind stirred, ruffling the landscape, lifting up tiny feathers and debris from the ground. A small blue feather detached itself from the rest; it sought adventure. Rushing past the others, it headed for the small village below. It was just now awakening, with smoke beginning to rise above the chimneys as the people inside rose from their sleep, eager to find out what the day might have in store.Beginnnings - Part One in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Threads, Part 1 or 2A dark shape ran through the forest, intent on one purpose: Escape. Branches bent and critters bolted as the four-legged apparition stomped across the forest floor. The branches were too thick and the trees too close for it to take flight with its great, leathery wings. The dogs came closer, panting and frothing with the scent of this new prey in their noses – the runner longed to whip about and show them the error of their ways, but muzzle flashes and lead slugs were enough of an argument against that course of action. Disoriented from the pain and stress, it managed to bring up a few coherent thoughts and curse itself from getting into this mess in the first place. Ah, how fleeting a well thought-out plan could be once set in action and no longer entertained by the optimistic
A New Start in an Old Town - Part 8My nostrils saved me by waking me up that morning. I sniffed in my sleep and was woken up by the strange smell of fish. Huh, well that was kinda weird... I thought.
"Aww!" I suddenly heard behind me, making me roar with surprise and fall out of the bed altogether, to land with a crash on the carpet. I looked up through the tangle of my quilt, to see Zilla hefting a salmon the size of my head off the bed. "You weren't supposed to move."
I got up, pulling the covers off and un-skewering the pillow from my left horn "Zilla! I got an alarm clock you know!"
"But I was boooored" he moaned, the fish wriggling from side to side like.. well like a floppy fish. "Can we go to the airport now?"

I went to my desk plugged in the AC and connected the laptop to the 22 inch LCD monitor and the 5.1 speaker system. My setup complete, I started up the laptop and went to the internet. Visited facebook to see if any of my mates had done anything lately, and went to 4chan to look for some funny pics, but there was nothing happening there. I was just going to go to a different site, when there was a loud knock on the door.

I looked between the two rows of cans in the fridge curiously, trying to remember. He had been really clear that he loved one of them, and couldn't stand the other, but I couldn't remember which way it was. Did he like Pepsi and hate Tango, or like Tango and hate Pepsi? I couldn't tell for sure, and that they were both in black cans wasn't helping me out.
I stood there in the aisle, holding the door open, letting the frosty vapour descend from the fridge, trying to decide what Grym had wanted. If I ended up getting the wrong one, he would moan and complain, then he would tell me to come back and get the right one. I would say no, then he would stare me down with his big red eyes until I broke and got the drink he wanted. He always got what he wanted; he's kind of intimidating that way.
After a few minutes, I simply grabbed a can of both Pepsi and Tango. He could have his pick, and I would have the other. It wasn't like I minded which soda to drink, any one would do

Dracozine - part 3About an hour later, the bus pulled up outside a compound of some sort, with tall brick walls. The bus entered the complex through an iron mesh fence, and parked outside the front of one of the buildings inside. The doors opened and everyone on the bus got out. I stepped off the bus and looked around. All of the buildings were made of the same brick as the perimeter wall, and were tall, about five storeys each. "...Mmmo kay, Zilla, just get orf my wing." I replied sluggishly as I rubbed my aching temples.
Zilla looked down at the grey wing membrane he had been jumping on and quickly left the bed. I gave a sigh of relief, which quickly turned into a yelp of surprise as Zilla grabbed my tail and dragged me out of bed by it, leaving me to crash onto the floor. He chuckled as I picked myself off the floor and kinked my neck, cracking it in a few places as I stretched it.

Dracozine - part 4I woke up and it was morning. I opened my eyes slowly, and I was confused. This was not my room; I didn't recognise the furniture or the view outside the window in front of me. It was covered in silver and gray scales, and my fingers ended in onyx claws.Dracozine - part 4 in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"I did do it." I thought to myself, "I made myself a dragon."
At that point, I was feeling pretty disoriented. It's hard to explain, but it was like my arms were in front of me and behind me at the same time. I moved my "other arm" to look and saw it was a wing, which moved just like my actual arm. I also felt warmth on the small of my back, and I could only determine that it was my tail. I looked around behind me and tried to get it to move. I didn't do anything for a moment, and then it wagged a little, responding to my thoughts the way my body always had.
I decided it was time to go see myself

BlueScale was about to answer when I heard a familiar voice behind me say, "Never felt better."
I turned around to see a tall black dragon standing in the doorway. He had white horns that tapered inwards to a razor sharp point, and the scales down the front of his bare chest were a dark shade of grey. The tail that came out of the shorts he was wearing ended with three spikes pointing out at different angles. His eyes had gone a very deep crimson, the same colour as blood. He seemed imposing, yet in a weird way he also seemed approachable as well.
I let out a low whistle. (Which was impressive in itself. I didn't think I could whistle) "Looking good, Grym."

Night after night, staring up through an optical tube checking in on the Solar System and then the realms beyond, first - the distant clusters and nebulae of our own galaxy followed by the many galaxies beyond them. Pondering what is out there and how it appears and marvelling at the shapes that the earlier astronomers found in the sky. Asterisms for them often took the shape of creatures, and often the most fearsome ones.

True to Doc Crazikc’s prediction, Yours truly along with most of the other recipients of TF2 simply adapted to life for the second time then went on about our way. In hindsight, it was actually the one remaining slice of normal we each probably had at the time. This was because the Earth was quickly changing ...not the planet, but the forms that lived on it.
After synthetic transformation came the audio actuated method, which was uncovered in the Council’s music library. The subject of transformation widened far beyond dragons to include most of the anthro’ genre and in a wide variation of both the degree of departure from human plus the mixtures of different creatures with it. The sky was pretty much the limit now.

The Transport Captain and Pilot joined us, the news they brought was that our perpetrator was still airborne. Now that the skies were clear of commercial or private flights, the radar picture was a lot clearer so ourselves, it and geese were all that showed. While we were heading west, it had attacked a small town, heavy damage. The next stop was apparently lunch, a small dairy herd to be exact, then starting the afternoon off by derailing a train. A strike by Warthogs and Apaches was driven off about thirty minutes ago.
In twenty minutes we would turn South to descend at full throttle, gaining speed. Over Petersen AFB we would exit while the transport would turn back north to Denver, not slowing down until the tires hit runway. We would be starting fifty miles north of the creature, hope

Hello ladies, gentlemen, dragons and dragonesses allow me to introduce myself. Most of my friends call me "Wattojawa". I live near 3 small towns in York County Pennsylvania. Last summer (2010) I was a 5'6" human. That changed in late August, now I am a 7' tall dragon. My dragon name is "Thunder Claw" and my dragon friends use it. My family uses my human name, John. This will be the story my life since I became a dragon. But, I am going to tell you how I became a dragon first.
I suppose the events that led to this started during the final week of July, I was at Smith Electric Motor Repair talking to my friend, James, who works there about my latest project, a hit & miss electric fan. I don't work there but, I often help

It had been about a week since Flamera and Ealdeth had gotten back from their honeymoon as we were still busy working on the ruins. The progress with them was coming along very well and quickly as all of the outer walls were already fixed up, especially around the court yard. What we also found was a hidden field in the one valley that has a stream flowing from waterfall as it was neat part of the mountain range. It seemed like a good spot to build a couple of cabins for us but right now my concern was a bit focused on Skyder. I was getting a bit worried about Skyder as he was still on fours even though he should have been fully healed a few days ago. I figured I needed talk to him about it but it would have to wait for a bit since he was probably sleeping still. I decided to head down to the workshop to see how Scaleless was doing with mapping out the caverns that we found under the ruins. Laughing started to fill the hallway as the kids ran past me while Lav

I woke up around 7:30 to the sound of my alarm clock which sounded harsher than normal. Growling slightly, I hit the snooze button with my tail and opened my eyes. I saw my scale covered forelimbs and was confused for a moment. "Why do I have scales and a tail" I thought. Then I remembered what happened yesterday. "Oh that's right I am a dragon now." Then I stretched out all my limbs and nearly knocked a bunch of things down with my wings. "You are a dragon and they have wings goofus, remember that and be more careful " I mentally scolded myself. I got out of my bed, did the normal things I do when I first get up, and went into the closet to get dressed. As I entered the closest I remembered that I needed to take my clothes to my mom to get them modified. I put all of my clothes, except for my paint covered work shorts and shirt, into The Sandcrawler. I was getting hungry so I decided to eat before going to my parents' house. I normally ha

It had been about a week since Ealdeth and Flamera had their wedding and gone on their honeymoon as Articus and I have been busy. We've been drawing up plans on rebuilding the old castle ruins that we found a while back and it was coming along nicely since we found the old building plans for it in the castle library we're in now. It would have been going even better but I was getting worried about Ealdeth since he seemed to be a quadruped more often, which was a problem for Flamera as she doesn't have a quad form. That and the royal duties were starting to get to me, since now I had less free time. Skyder was helping out as well with the plans as he was good at drawing up some likenesses of what the castle ruins used to look like. It helped out a lot as the castle ruins were on flat land since it was next to the lake that our one aquatic friend was living in. One nice thing was that BlackIce still seemed quiet, so that gave us time to start working out how t

It was a quiet evening in Daratres's calstle and I, Thunder Claw, was telling my and my mate, Firetail's kids as well as Articus's and Lavia's kids, Harvey's and Melissa's and Aras's and Calfury's kids the story of how I first ended up a dragon and how I became mates with Firetail and friends with Articus, Lavia, Aras and Calfury. I was near the end of that story and after that it would be time for the kids to start settling for bed. Firetail came in right as I was fining the story, with her belly looking a bit larger than normal, as she was pregnant for the first time and she would be laying eggs in a few weeks. When I finished she said "you realize it's now been 10 years since you became a dragon?"
I smiled at her and replied "Yeah and I'm glad we moved to Daratres, It reminds me of a fantasy world but with advanced technology as well."
"Thunder Claw, Whatever happened to uncle Black Ice?" asked Kalia, one of Articus and Lavia's daughters.

"Thank you, now where are the hatchlings?" she asked.
"They are supposed to be drinking their milk but I see they want the the extra batter instead" I answered as we went into the kitchen and saw them in the mixer bowl.
They poked their heads out and had chocolate chips in their feathers. Firetail laughed at that and I quickly got the camera to get a picture of it. After taking the picture, I sat down and Firetail and I ate the pancakes. Just as we were finis

She told me that Firetail's parents were in the dining hall with the king and queen and would like to see her to spend some time with her. I nodded, we went to the dining hall, and saw that Articus and Lavia were there with her parents and Firetail's parents, eating some leftovers. The Dragon in Me Part1I was just walking around in the city. It was a wonderful day in the middle of the summer. The sun had just risen and was shining in my face. I had decided to take an early walk and was now on the way home. I was crossing the road when it happened. A car hit me from the side. When I was flying the whole time seemed to slow down and I felt something rush through my body. Then I blacked out and crashed against the wall. The driver of the car just went on like nothing had happened. For my luck the next passenger that saw me called the emergency ambulance. They came quickly and brought me to the hospital. When they found out who I was they informed my parents, who came as fast as the could. When they reached the hospital they were led to my room. I had to look terrible. Several bones broken, bleeding just like every where and to make it worse the doctor told them, that I had a concussion. The Dragon in Me Part 8The moment I became aware of the world around me I knew there was something different. I felt the soft grass beneath my scales, I smelt the salty breeze from the sea and heard the waves crushing against the steep cliffs. Above the sounds of the sea I could hear the chirping of hundreds of birds. Their gorgeous music filled the air and made me feel happy. For one moment I enjoyed this moment of peace without thinking about where I was and how I got there. The Dragon in Me Part 8 in Scraps More Like This
But this moment was over far too soon. I opened my eyes and inspected my environment. I lay at the edge of a forest, the thick trunks of the trees right next to me. It surrounded me to the north, east and west, but to the south there was the sea. About ninety feet away from me the cliffs fell down to the sea almost perpendicular. I slowly stood up and walked towards them completely taken in by the sight of the vast ocean. I had seen the sea quite a few times when I had been human but this had a completely different feeling to it.

After breakfast I decided to get out and enjoy the feeling of the raindrops on my scales. I had always liked it to be out in the rain when I was human and I wanted to know if it felt different with my scales. I went out into the pouring rain. I had to smile when the drops flowed down my body. I hadn't felt this for a long time so this time it was even better. I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling. There wasn't any difference to how it felt before. It seemed that this was one of the less things that hadn't changed in the last few days. It wasn't like I wouldn't enjoy my new body. It was just good to have this small things that would always be the same.

The Dragon in Me part2When I woke up the next morning the sun was shining through my window. My watch showed 8:32 and because my whole family sleeps pretty long on weekends I was the first one up. I got out of my bed and went down the stairs into the kitchen. I opened the fridge took out the milk and warmed it up on the stove. When it was warm enough I poured it into a bowl. Then I got the box with the breakfast cereals and put some of them into the milk. This was my usual breakfast that I eat nearly every day. Although it tasted like it ever had there was something different to the feeling that I head while eating. Just like there was something missing that would make the food really enjoyable. It was the first time when I realized that I had not only changed in the way how I look. When I thought of it I noticed that my brain, or at least the most primitive parts of it, told me to eat meat. (This is not my words)
1. Consider all of the options. Not everyone can create a blockbuster novel. Anyone with passion might be able to earn a living from writing. Copy-writing is probably the highest paid skill on the Internet. Article writing is in great demand for providing content for websites. Creative writers are in demand to bid for projects every day. So the first step in how to become a writer is to research all of the options.
2. Plan using logic and desire. Write the way you want, but decide whether or not you want to rely on the income from your writing. Not having a regular job will allow you to focus on your writing, but it's very unlikely that you'll be able to depend on it for at least a few years. Then you might get bored.
3. Think about what you want to write, instead of what you want to get from writing. You won't get anywhere if all you're after is money.
4. Be prepared to work odd hours -- y
