Hi there! Thanks for viewing my image.
I am the maker of and model of the costume, Nightingale Armor from the video game Elderscrolls V: Skyrim. These lovely photos were taken by the talented Andrew Snucins Photography, www.andrewsnucins.com.
The Nightingales are the original concept of Bethesda.

I play Skyrim and as I was wondering what costume to make I decided to just go for my favorite one! My character is always in this armor.

About the costume: I began planning and collecting materials in September 2012. Most of it is sewn out of pleather and vinyl which I then treated with black paint, silver spray paint, hot glue, model magic, and way more black paint. I made the pattern by cutting out pieces of paper and holding them up my body to see if they would be the right size and shape. Then I used those paper pieces to cut out my fabric. Very time consuming as I don't have a dress form. One day I'll get one. I completed the costume 4 months later in December.

There's a humble write up on my blog of how I made this costume here: beebichu.blogspot.ca/

Sheila as Karliah (Nightingale Armor) from the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

Stunning photos by :iconordinaryriches:

I'm going to try and make this description without any arrow in the knee or sweetroll jokes. XD

It feels good to put up photos of this costume. Definitely one of our bigger projects and one of the most exciting. And my first experience with full covering face paint.

The entire 'leatherwork' of the armor is actually all just craft foam. If you want to find out the in depth process on how it was made, click here: [link]

There will definitely will be much more to come for this costume! See you at Phoenix ComiCon & Anime Expo!

:star:
EDIT: Oh my gosh we got a Daily Deviation!! THATS INCREDIBLE! Thanks you so much! That really but a leap in our confidence! THANK YOU EVERYONE!

One of our last costumes, complete with all its accessories except for the boots, which takes inspiration from the "Thieves' Guild" character design of Skyrim (actually, of the entire saga of The Elder Scrolls).

We had some fun shooting pics of DarkSnip3r's nightingale costume (Skyrim) while outside of PAX East. We'll be doing a better photoshoot in the upcoming weeks, along with a tutorial.

Part 1 of my Skyrim Stormcloak storytelling photo shoot. Here, the fresh meat is being tested against ice wraiths on Serpentstone Isle, in the far north of Skyrim. Should he succeed, he will be able to join the ranks of the Stormcloak army in Windhelm.

Black ranger garb again. All fabric parts/corset made by me, from scraps. Antler dagger made by my dad. I tried wearing it differently for this shoot and am fairly happy with how it turned out. If only I had remembered to bring my archer's brace with me! Also, I felt like I was celebrating the season 2 premier of Game of Thrones while shooting this.

The black ranger garb. Funny enough, I didn't make this as a set, but rather as separate pieces for different outfits.

It consists of a: steel boned corset, full skirt, swordswoman shirt.

I did not, however, make any of the leather that I'm wearing or archery equipment.

Another photo from my shoot with Lindsay. Okay, I confess, I didn't make the bodice, I got it from Ophelia's (I was lazy), but I did make everything else. That's my new favorite shirt and I wear it with everything. I wish I'd had my quiver for this shoot!!
