OKAY so I happened to be looking at ~RiYuPai's bento here: [link] and read the contents and found out there is a manga about BENTO!!! its called "Hatsukoi no Lunchbox" and i went to look it up and read it. It is such a cute manga and I HIGHLY suggest any bento maker to read this series! It even has how-to recipes at the end of each chapter! It not only tells you a story but shows you how to make certain bento items, tips and tricks, and recipes! It is very inspiring and creative! XD I had to print out all the recipes. I was basically following the bento from the first chapter but instead of baseball i decided i wanted lil kitties! Unfortunately i forgot to make the lil tails but oh well. I made it slightly different so that it wouldn't exactly match the one from the manga! Please check it out and read "Hatsukoi no Lunchbox"! well worth it!
Soy sauce and Worchestershire flavored riceball. Filled with seasoned tuna and shaped into a cute bear. Egg sheet ears, seaweed eyes and nose, ketchup blush, and red colored bow-tie noodle. Steamed brocolli, heart shaped steamed carrots, Steamed red potato seasoned with butter, garlic paste and parsley and three homemade meatballs. For snack a meiji 'choco baby' packet.
This was my lunch today! I wanted to try something that was not my normal style bento. So I tried out a few new things. It contains:
Top Layer: Takoyaki! It is topped with home made Tonkatsu Sauce, Chives, and Mayo (Takoyaki is Fried Octopus Balls. It is made out of boiled Octopus tentacle and other ingredients. *Tip for frozen Takoyaki: Put them under the broiler for 3-5 minutes after warming up, it helps to give a crispy crunch to the outside while keeping the inside warm and gooey)
Bottom Layer: Blanched Spinach with Shoyu (Soy Sauce), Sesame Oil and Seeds. Hard Boiled Quail Eggs Green Apple Bunny Japanese Style Potato Salad (I hate American Potato salad so I was skeptical about this version, but it is DELICIOUS!)
A friend and I went to the Cincinnati Zoo today and I made bento for us to eat for lunch. Both bento contain the same thing, I just don't happen to have two of the same bento in size and proportion. They contain:
2 Onigiri - 1 Salmon filled and 1 with Ebi Firikake 3 Tempura Shrimp 1/2 Egg Tomato Shiitake Mushrooms Horseradish Sauce (Homemade) Kitty Skewer with Two Blueberries
Sorry for the bad picture. I was in a hurry. Please Enjoy~

hehe I made bento for my brother today! Inspired by annathered's website where she makes all sorts of yummy and totally cute looking bento boxes. This bento took a few hours to make but I think the end result was worth it. Pretty cute! Thanks for taking a look!
In this bento there are: mixed veggies, white rice shaped into a bunny, ears, cheeks, and heart decoration made out of ham, the mouth/nose part made out of turkey, egg sheet blanket, crispy orange chicken, and finally nori seaweed for facial features!
