THE STAR WARS FANBASE STRIKES BACK
It is a dark time for Alec. Although many people agreed that "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" was poorly written, badly directed and had issues with pacing, Alec made the mistake to make rude and thoughtless remarks towards fellow Swedish Critic, Kurvos, a mistake that forced Alec to hide from the die-hard Star Wars fans who demanded his blood.
Evading the blind-sighted yet dreaded Star Wars Fanbase; Alec re-established his credentials and managed to get back into good graces with his small yet growing fans through his Burning Through Celluloid film analysis reviews, his Cult Corner comedic reviews and even celebrated his 3 year criticizing anniversary by reviewing "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."
Regardless of Alec's ciniphile ways, the Star Wars Fanbase, obsessed with bringing Alec to justice for the crime of expressing his opinion, dispatched

WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
Despite nobody really asking for it, Alec has returned to Star Wars to criticize Episode II: Attack of the Clones, despite his own nostalgic connections with the movie from his childhood.
Alec's analysis has shown him that, while it actually has a main character with semi-clearer character motivations, the film is boggled by irrational logic and gaping plotholes that one could drive an AT-AT Walker through.
However, Alec did not expect to be sued by the Star Wars Fanbase for emotional distress and, unless he can find a way to prove the jury his innocence, the world of online criticism will die as we know it…
Sadly, we return to the part of the story that I could give a rat's ass about, Anakin and Padme's growing "romance." That transport ship they were supposed to be hiding aboard incognito, lands on Naboo, which lead

Hello everyone, I'm Volts48 and welcome to a new section of my reviews I call "Nostalgiviews"! (cues music)
This is where I take you down my memory lane of some old movies I watched back when I was growing up and since you all know I love movies; you can imagine I watched a lot. Before you even question, yes this is a rip-off of the Nostalgia Critic, either deal with it, or GTFO.

For anyone who doesn't know the man, he was an ex-Disney animator who did work on "The Sword in the Stone", "Pete's Dragon" and also drew the animation segments for the popular video game arcade "Dragon's Lair". He left Disney when they wouldn't fund him to create his masterpiece "The Secret of NIMH" which marked him as an ingenious director in the 80's while Disney began to fall behind in terms of story quality. He prospered in the 80's as he teamed up with Steven Spielberg ("Jaws", "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "Raiders of the

Harry Potter 7 review
Hello folks, I'm Volts48 and, whether you like it or not, I'm your critic.
Ah yes, Harry Potter. One of the most successful and popular best-selling books in the world, written by J.K. Rowling. Of course, like all best-selling books, it had to have a theatrical release. So, in 2001, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" was released, followed with "The Chamber of Secrets"; both of which, directed by "Home Alone" director, Chris Columbus. Next came "The Prisoner of Azkaban", directed by "The Little Princess" and "Children of Men" director, Alfonso Curan; this one remains to be my favorite of the Harry Potter franchise. Next, was "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "Mona Lisa Smile" director, Mike Newall's attempt at "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", it was okay, just not well orchestrated on Newall's part. Then came the motherfucker himself, David "All I've Ever done is Tv Movies" Yates as he shat out "The Order of the Phoenix" and "The Half-Blood Prince

"Even a man, who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf, when the wolf bane blooms and the moon is shining bright." Not just a bunch of pretty words; words that perfectly sum up werewolves in general. For those people who've known me when I started out on this site; I have a huge obsession with werewolves. I just love the idea of being bathed under the light of a full moon, transforming into a half-man and half-wolf monster and running around into the night free. However because of the sad and terrible nature that people consider that wolves are evil creatures, when really, they're not bad, it's just their nature and that they hunt meat to survive. Although it's been proven that no record exists of a wolf attacking a human; there are some records of humans, who had been under the influence of uncontrolled drugs where they acted like wolves and attacked people. I don't know where some

Ah, Ben Affleck. God, do I hate you. You annoy the hell out of me. I know you co-wrote "Good Will Hunting" with Matt Damon and you both got an Oscar for it but you also starred in "Armageddon", "Pearl Harbor", "The Sum of All Fears" and the film that you should have been ashamed of even having your name in, "Gigli." But I do have to give you some credit Affleck; your brother Casey was in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" which garnered him an Oscar nomination but he was also in the Oceans 11, 12, and 13 remakes, so that's even more unforgivable on his part. But still, you starred in "Daredevil" which is surprising a good movie that stayed true to the comic books, something not many comic book movies do these days and you were also in "State of Play" with Russell Crowe and you also directed "Gone Baby Gone". Now, you have another forgiving factor to include, but I stil

Top 11 for Tim BurtonOkay, before you send me a lot of negative commenting; allow me to point out that I do not think Tim Burton is a bad director and neither is his cast. I'm doing this because I really do like Tim Burton movies (except the new Alice in Wonderland) but I get pretty annoyed when he keeps using the same actors and actresses (mainly Johnny Depp and his wife Helena Bonham Carter). They are very good in their acting because they get into character but he over uses them like he doesn't really have any choice. So for any Tim Burton fan who agrees with me on this (I highly doubt it though) please enjoy my top 11 choices for Mr. Burton.Top 11 for Tim Burton in Reviews & Guides More Like This
#11- Aaron Eckhart
Yes, Two-Face and recently SSgt. Nantz (roles played by Eckhart). I recommend Eckhart because he's a very good actor and gets into as much character as Johnny Depp (did I mention he had the role of Two-Face already?) and surprising he was good. Now he maybe a support main character in a Tim Burton film but I mean give the guy a chance; I would ac

I miss that exotic feeling that I felt before
When the gentle desert breeze passed by me and sang their song
I could hear the Indian songs singing in the wind
The land was truly enchanted and truly unforgettable

It felt like I was walking through the desert's snow
People made sand angels and slid down the triumphant dunes
Others just gazed off into the wonderous land of exotic beauty
I miss this exotic desert wonderland
Wishing that I would go back to it and dance with the Indian spirits

I miss seeing the artistic sky when the sun sets and rises
Heaven was casted upon this enchanted wonderland day and night

Beauty and enchanment was in her

#11- Raiden (the MGS2 version)
Pros- Uses desgiuses and even has a really good arsenal as Solid Snake. Has a good knowledge of combat like Solid Snake, and even uses the same stealth techniques as Solid Snake.
Cons- Looks more like a female than a man and his suit is not really pre-say "stealthy" as the other stealth suits. And most of the time he focuses more on his past and even focuses more on Rose than his mission some of time. That was until MGS4 when he became a cyborg ninja.
#10- Solid Snake (MG, MG2, MGS, MGS2, MGS4)
Pros- Focuses on the mission a lot more

Hello deviants; if you didn't see my previous P.O.ed deviation, this is where I talk about something that is coming out and it pisses me off. Today's topic is about a spy movie coming out called ABUDCTION and it starts the non-talented Taylor Lautner. Now there is two things that pisses me off about Hollywood; one- not thinking of their own ideas and two- having a terrible cast. I mean this movie pissess me off because it's another Jason Bourne knock off (like Salt and Unknown) but this time they have really done it this time when they get a Twilight actor to play in a spy movie; I'M VERY PISSED OFF. Hollywood has finally got me pissed off once again and now they must hear what I have to say. But I shalt be clear, if you are a Taylor Lautner fan than DO NOT READ THIS OR THOU SHALT GET A CAP IN THY ASSS; I warned you so.
Anyway; this film really got me pissed off from seeing the preview for it. At first I was like, "Oh goodie; it's another Jason Bourne knock-off," until I saw Taylor Lau

So some of you might get mad at me for this but here's why I put it at #11, I'm not really a Last Airbender fan like a lot of you are and I really don't like the plot to the whole series nor most of the characters but I do admire it's humor and animation. And of course the series was also known for The Last Airbender movie direct by M. Night Shyamalan (though I think that he had something to do with the animated series too. I think). My vote on this one: 7.5/10 because I liked the humor, the number of seasons it took, and it's animation but I didn't like the plot nor it's characters.
#10- Superman: The Animated Series
Okay, even though I watched Superman as a kid, I wasn't much of a big fan of Superman. Why, I don't know. However, I love the fact that they gave him a cool theme song, cool intro, it's plot to every episode was good, and the voice actors/actresses wher

Some of you are thinking, "Hey why would this be a game to be pissed off at," well if you don't know what Brothers In Arms is; here's what it basically is. Brothers In Arms is a realistic WWII FPS created by Ubisoft that focuses on SSgt. Baker from the 101st Airborne leading a squad from Normady to recently Operation Market Garden. The game not only focuses on gameplay but it's dramatic story that takes place during the events of the European Theater and is mostly seen as a single player game and not so much multiplayer.

The Ezio Retrospective: Part IIIA retrospective on three games with Ezio and my opinion on the character’s role in them: Part III.The Ezio Retrospective: Part III in Academic Essays More Like This
So after three games that centered around Ezio’s life, we get to Assassin’s Creed: Embers, a short movie and basically the epilogue of the Ezio trilogy that Ubisoft deemed absolutely necessary to make. It basically follows Ezio’s final days, because it is somehow important for the overall plot that involves a solar flare in the year 2012 to see some Renaissance man pass away, like people tend to do after approximately 60 to 80 years.
As you can probably gather from the above sentence, I didn’t like it much. I guess that at least in part, this is because it continues the story of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, which I consider the worst game in the entire franchise. I also admit it probably has to do with the fact that at this point, I was more than sick of spending time with Ezio. Still, it also goes a bit deeper than just these two

I complained a lot of about Assassin's Creed III. I couldn't think of anything good to say about it really. So what it had sea battles, improved free running physics and better graphics? I didn't care. All I knew about it that it would continue a once great storyline that had become a contrived mess since Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. This was the point where Ubisoft realized that Ezio (once actually a fascinating and relatable character in Assassin's Creed II) was a cash cow and kept pulling shit out of their ass to make sure they could bring him back for a few more installments. This was honestly one of the biggest mistakes they have ever made. No matter how much his fangirls bleat and vehemently claim otherwise, Ezio was no longer interesting in these games nor did he have anything interesting or important to do. For anyone who didn't have a crush on this good character-turned-Gary Stu, both <

It's been three days since you left. Three days since you walked away from me in Valley Forge. You threatened to kill me should I follow or stop you and I have not seen you since.

When I was young, I was taught many things. Many things about the world, many things about life. Yet, as I lived there in the outlands of the Farm, there was one subject that was important above all. I was taught how to be an Assassin.
I was taught how to fight, sneak and pickpocket. I was taught how to take a life for the greater good. I was taught how to move forward and make decisions without a moment of hesitation. But especially, I was taught never to let my emotions take over and have them interfere with the mission.
Ah, that last one was so easy to promise, so easy to train for. After all, it seemed like something that would never be an issue for me. I wouldn't ever be in such a situation. I was young and strong and all those I cared about where close to me. I would never be in a situation where my heart would get the better of my head.
Funny how that youthful arrogance comes back to haunt me now. As I sit here in the back of a white van heading to New York, I fi

As most people know, I'm a fan of the Assassin's Creed series. I have been since the first game came out and though I have my issues with the franchise, especially the last two less than satisfactory titles, I'd still consider myself a loyal follower. Still, there is one flaw that I shall never be able to forgive Ubisoft for and that is its atrocious use of Arabic "surnames" in the 12th-13th century, the time in which the story takes place.
A protagonist who is called Ibn La'ahad or "Son of None" while his father's name is known? His children and wife are also called that way? Two brothers who are both called "Al-Sayf"? A man who is named Abbas Sofian? Did anyone actually bother to wonder if the Arabic usage of "surnames" might be different from Westerners, especially during that time?

I think it’s pretty much common knowledge to most of my DA watchers that I'm not a big fan of Ezio. While I was once a devout Ezio fangirl who would blindly defend the character, after the post-Assassin’s Creed II games, I don’t think I will ever regain that sentiment. I already expressed my concern about the multiple games with him in other essays and as the games came out, I am sad to say that I found every one of my fears to becoming a reality. In my eyes, this once brilliant character ended up becoming a washed-up cash cow, a one-trick pony that Ubisoft kept making games around way beyond the point of him still having a purpose or being remotely interesting. I easily dare say this character gradually took away everything that I found fascinating about the concept of Assassin’s Creed and nearly obliterated my faith in the franchise, unti

Try as I might, I sadly can’t think of anything good I can say about Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. I actually went into it open-minded, hoping it would be good, but the longer I played it, the more it made me cringe. I think this is the single worst game the franchise has ever produced and I played Altaïr’s Chronicles. It’s a rushed, broken mess of a game with Ubisoft blatantly saying “No, we didn’t even try on this one. We just slapped together a game and put Ezio in it, because then people will buy it anyway. Wait, what do you mean Assassin’s Creed trilogy? No, you want an Ezio trilogy! We said so, so you want it! P.S. We also messed up Altaïr but most of the female fanbase doesn’t know who he is anyway, so who cares?”

It's quite a while ago that I wrote a certain essay called "Ezio Overratedtore: Why Ubisoft should stick to the promise that Brotherhood is the end of Ezio's story". In this essay, which I wrote before the release of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, I voiced doubts about the reappearance of Ezio Auditore and that I saw no need for the game to actually be around. Back then, a lot of fans didn't appreciate me speaking ill of their favorite character and I got bombarded with accusations that the Ezio/Caterina pairing was the only reason I, an Ezio/Rosa fan, didn't want to have him around again. I'll go ahead and say that I was indeed delighted that this pairing never happened, as well as the cringe-worthy Twilight rip-off that was Ezio/Cristina, but my main reason why I initially wasn't very enthusiastic about Brotherhood beforehand still stood by the end of the game, even though it was pretty
ACII ACB Faves and Least FavesIt's been a week or so since Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the continuation of the story of Ezio Auditore, came out now. My opinion of the game? It's meant to be a side game, so spectacular expectations of both the set-up and story would leave one disappointed. So here I am, still as Assassin's Creed obsessed as ever, and realized that it has been a while ago that I made a "Faves and Least Faves" list of the first Assassin's Creed game. At the time I wrote this list, Assassin's Creed II hadn't even been released and thus the characters from that timeline of course weren't even there for the potential countdown. She kicked her shoes off leaving her feet clad only in socks and made her way towards the fridge which she knew was stockpiled with some delicious cake.
"Lets see, cake, cake, where is the sweet frosted covered cake?" She sang to herself as she made her way over to the fridge and began to rummage through it. As she did she felt something heavy and cold placed against the back of her head that made her freeze with terror.

This is Rumor Control, here are the facts! Oh Medal of Honor, your one of the first,
if not THE first, World War II First Person Shooter ever to come out and yet people
prefer Call of Duty over you. Why? Because its better then you, in every way shape
and form. To me, Medal of Honor is more like a gateway game rather then an actual
series, being that it leads you to bigger and better games. Until now I had only
played three MOH games: Frontlines, Vanguard and Heroes 2. Frontline left no real
impression on me other then the fact that it starts off on D-Day, Vanguard was the
first WWII FPS I ever played but it still had lousy characters and Heroes 2 Sucked,
plain and simple. Now there are two reasons why Call of Duty is better: Call of Duty
has likeable, memorable characters and actually has a story! The story line is
engaging and well thought out, especially in Black Ops and the Modern Warfare games

The Bad: NOTHING!
There are many people out there who argue what was Eastwood's greatest film.
Some argue it was Dirty Harry. Others say it was e Bouno, e male, e brutto (the
Italian and appropriate name for The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.) But hands down
his greatest film has to be Gran Torino. Eastwood plays Korean War veteran Walt
Kowalski. Kowlaski is a racist (ironically the neigborhood he lives in is filled with
Hmong.) But when a gang of Hmong "gangbangers" threatens a friend of Kowalski's
he has to do everything in his power to protect him and his family. When you see
trailers for this film you think Dirty Harry of today. Well your wrong. There is little
action in this film, and you know what, it doesn't matter. I praise Eastwood for his
newest film and this shall go down in history as a classic. This is the perfect way
to kick off 2009.

This is Rumor Control, here are the facts! Oh Killzone, will you ever cease to amaze me?
Killzone 2 was a fun and challenging FPS. Sure it had it's problems, but it was still a
good game nevertheless! Now in most cases a sequel will usually pale in comparison to it's
predecessor, but thankfully this is not the case for KZ3. No, it's not only a really good
game, but it virtually succeeds where Killzone 2 had failed, creating a nearly flawless
game! For starters we're going to go back to my problems with Killzone 2. One of my
biggest problems was the main characters. They were made up of either completely bland and
forgettable characters or characters that were disgustingly unlikeable, not to mention the
dialogue and voice acting for the ISA was just God awful, with every other word being a
swear and the voice actors sounding like they weren't even trying. The AI, for the most
part, was bad. The AI characters constantly died, forcing you to put y

the classic side to side arenas were ditched in favor of a 360 arena, and ever since
that has remained the same Until now, with the release of Mortal Kombat (or to make

For those with their ear to the ground in gaming, it’s likely you’ve heard of Spec Ops: The Line. It was 2012’s critical darling, beloved even by everyone’s favourite video game critic misanthrope, Yahtzee Croshaw. You might even remember that I named it as my favourite game of the year.
I remember when I first played it... I felt shocked to the bone, like I had been sucker punched, knocked into unconsciousness and then awoken with a bucket of ice cold water. It was a haunting, mesmerizing experience, and by God could I go over every detail of its narrative all day... but that would be spoiling, and this is a game that needs to be experienced in order to truly convey properly what sort of beast we're dealing with here.

Lo and behold! Empirical evidence that not all video games in the Triple-A market have to be shooters in order to succeed! More to the point, not every resurrection of an old franchise brand has to be reconstituted as a shooter to appeal to us young people today.
The fan outcry of “BETRAYAL!” forced developers to put back the hypothetical XCOM shooter on the shelf for a supposedly quick, “rushed” project that aimed to revitalize (and update) the more traditional tactical gameplay of the original games of the franchise.
And guess what? It was one of the biggest hits of the year, and the XCOM shooter they wanted so badly, that was finally released this year? Just the opposite: it became one of the greatest failures of the year.
Hey, industry, here’s a tip: learn from this.
The homogenization of genres only leads to stagnation and death of creativity, and from an economical standpoint it needlessly alienates potent
