Male suicide is no big dealThat is the stance of the UK charity and support group, Samaritans. In their article Men, Suicide http://www.samaritans.org/sites/default/files/kcfinder/files/press/Men%20Suicide%20and%20Society%20Research%20Report%20151112.pdf and Society, they start off by pretending to see the rampant yet ignored issue of male suicide as a problem worth addressing. "Public policy needs to respond urgently to the problems that men and boys create and the problems that they experience, according to a new report by the Coalition on Men and Boys. This must take place alongside efforts to improve the position and status of women."
You get that? In a report describing the problem of male suicide, they have the balls to blame men for the problem and to stress how no efforts can be done to address this problem unless they somehow help to improve the status of women. Men matter, so long as they help women. Gee, and here I thought one of the more common reasons
Whining about natureRockingMrE addresses the issue of gender idelogues denial of nature, both in the feminist movement and in more radical elements of the men's movement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xsfZjl8tu8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xsfZjl8tu8 Gender idelogues reject nature and all of it's implications, blaming of of nature's effects on socialization which they believe needs to be reengineered. This can be seen in how feminists whine about society forcing women into the role of nurturer or how the men's movement will whine about society forcing men into the role of protector and provider. Men and women are naturally better suited to certain roles. But the biggest problem is the rejection of the family unit.Whining about nature in Personal More Like This

However, many of you might not know how far this really goes. There used to be this old English ritual called a skimmington in which a person would be publicly humiliated. Common victims of these skimmingtons would be men who had abusive and/or adulterous wives. This was also practiced in colonial America.
Here are some sources that show the details of these rituals
Another note: the name "skimmington" is actually that name of a kind of ladle (abusive women often beat their husband with these).
When I first heard about this I honestly thought I had misread, which is w

Over 1000 dead people? They're mostly men."Why are women and children considered more noteworthy victims to mention? Particularly given that a short visual tour of Google images repeatedly confirms that the vast majority of migrants are, in fact, men. In a recent chat with an editor at AVfM, I came to realize that the use of the words “male” and “female” when referring to humans very often dehumanizes the person, a fact feminists have noted themselves. Naturally feminists only consider the use of the word “female” dehumanizing. They don’t hesitate to celebrate the enjoyment they derive from “male” suffering, denigrate non-existent “male” privilege and decry imaginary “male” entitlement."Over 1000 dead people? I'm sure this has been discussed...But I have to ask, what is with the mentality among feminists and people in general that when a woman gets rejected by someone she has feelings for, she can cry about it and people will run to her defense saying, "he's a shallow jerk! He doesn't know what he's missing!"? Yet, when a man gets rejected by a woman and he cries, and if someone says, "she's a shallow bitch. She doesn't know what she's missing!" They're a misogynist jerk who's "encouraging male entitlement."I'm sure this has been discussed... in Personal More Like This
How is a man being sad over being rejected and people who console him "encouraging male entitlement?" If anything, both genders need to be compassionately consoled.

Have men been historically privileged? Not really. Girlwriteswhat takes a good long look at Sharia law and comes to some interesting conclusions. Technically, women are allowed to work under Sharia law. However, unlike men, women are not obligated to share their earnings with the family. It is technically legal to a woman with an income to allow her children to starve to death, but her husband will most certainly be held accountable for her inaction. It Is Never Acceptable To Hit A WomanI was just passing by the living room with the tv on some news channle when I heard, what else, some lady explaining why it is never acceptable for a man to hit a woman. As an MRA, I am privy to such interesting knowledge that women are just as violent if not more so than men and that the primary abusers of children are women. If this is what society deems the norm, then I say we go the extra mile. To really drive home the message that it is never acceptable for men to hit women, I say we adjust this childhood lesson ever so slightly so as to include what I view as the most probable instances of provoking male violence.
"It is never acceptable for a man to hit a woman, especially if she is threatening you or your kids."
By adjusting this childhood message in this way I think it would go

Five years ago, I hated YouTube Atheists like Tunderf00t and The Amazing Atheist. I couldn't imagine a more loathsome group of human beings than them.
But within that time span, I managed to discover such a group: feminist social justice warriors—a horde of irrational, overtly-emotional loudmouths who feel that the most rational response to criticism is to shout "rape!" or "racist!"
Since then, I have discovered a common ally with the YouTube Atheists, whose pseudo-intellectualism will not bend to the otherwise anti-intellectualism of the feminist social justice warriors. It's like Goku teaming up with Vegeta in order to fight Cell.
Question is, in the future, what group will prove themselves dangerously irrational enough for

One of those things is infanticide, which is clearly black. "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness"…He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (2 Corinthians 12:9 and Isaiah 40:29-31)
When the subject of spiritual strength is raised, our thinking often turns in one of two directions. Either we consider how we can muster up our own strength, or we dwell on our own weakness, doubting that adequate strength can ever be found. Well, it is clear from the Scriptures that God does not expect mere human strength to be sufficient for our spiritual callings.

We live in a world that increasingly strives to (supposedly) promote the idea of tolerance, but actually becomes intolerant of Christian absolutes as it does so. Whether it involves religion, behavior, or human sexuality, there is a growing anti-Christian sentiment in America and other Western nations. Ultimately, built into this “tolerance” is the concept that truth is determined by each individual, not by God. This has led many people to conclude that making judgments on anyone (especially coming from Christians) is wrong because the Bible says ”"judge not"” (Matthew 7:1). Interestingly enough, those who reject the notion of God or the credibility of the Bible often attempt to use God’s Word (e.g., by quoting verses out of context) to excuse their actions when they are prese

Today tolerance is being redefined to mean that all views are equally valid and all lifestyles equally appropriate. As such, the notion that Jesus is the only way is vilified as the epitome of intolerance. Rather than capitulating to culture, Christians must be equipped to expose the flaws of today's tolerance, while simultaneously exemplifying true tolerance.
First, to say all views are equally valid sounds tolerant but in reality is a contradiction in terms. If indeed all views are equally valid then the Christian view must be valid. The Christian view, however, holds that not all views are equally valid. Thus, the redefinition of tolerance in our culture is a self-refuting proposition. Moreover, we do not tolerate people with whom we agree; we tolerate people with whom we disagree. If all views were equally valid, there would be no need for tolerance.
Furthermore, today's redefinition of tolerance leaves no room for objective moral judgments. A modern
Are Christians Judgmental and Unloving?Religious Tolerance: Are Christians Judgmental and Unloving? Are Christians Judgmental and Unloving? in Personal More Like This
RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE- An Introduction
Why can’t Christians just exercise their own faith, and leave alone those people who have other beliefs? After all, isn’t it judgmental and unloving to criticize someone else’s religious beliefs?
RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE- The Age of Tolerance
Because we live in an age of tolerance where almost anything goes, openly questioning or criticizing other people’s belief systems can quickly get you labelled as judgmental, narrow-minded, bigoted, hateful, and even ignorant. And with regard to Christianity, Matthew 7:1 is often quoted (or should I say “misquoted”) to discourage Christians from putting other religious teachings and practices to the test.
RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE- Do Not Judge?
This assertion, however, is simply false, as the Bible clearly speaks out not against passing judgme

Nuances of an Annual Ritual
Which brings us to each year’s communal celebration of the passing of our lifetimes:
New Year’s Eve
So what did you “actually get done” in the past year? How closer are you to a grand goal in life? An assessment is made and then the inevitable Step 2 of the yearly process is engaged, which is often a word for word repeat of last year’s Step 2:
The New Year’s Resolution
There seem to be two main strategies that emerge at this point of facing the New Year, a “brand new morning.” The lone wolf quietly acknowledges goals not yet reached, and is even more secretive in the “new plan.” “I’ll show them,” becomes the new privat

Afraid that He won't answer your prayers because...
...your sins are overbearing?
...you have sinned so much that He won't ever listen to you?
...you think that He thinks your worries and requests are not important enough?
...you think that He won't forgive you?
...your prayers won't ever be answered?
...you are disobedient?
...you'll repeat the same mistakes over and over again?
...you have so many problems?
...your flaws are countless?
...you are not good enough?
...you are not worthy?
...you are not loved by Him?
Some people assume that they have to be a perfectly good person to be heard by God.
So why did He send Jesus to us?
It's because we are imperfect.
It's because we are problematic.
It's because we have flaws.
It's because we are prone to making mistakes.
It's because we are sinners.
It's because sin exists in the world.
It's because we are unworthy.

For You Are a Slave to Whatever Controls YouConsider what I'm about to say as an indirect sequel to my previous topic on "Indirect Idolatry" (see http://jazzy-c-oaks.deviantart.com/art/Indirect-Idolatry-270395330 ).For You Are a Slave to Whatever Controls You in Personal More Like This
In my entry about Indirect Idolatry, I stated, "I am just as capable a victim as anyone else."
And guess what? I was not kidding.
Lately my brain had been lacking focus and I had become victim to both artist and writer's block. And when I would feel those two blocks, I would lack motivation to work on ideas relating to the stories I want to write about during my free-time. And when I would feel unable to work on those things when I want to, I would distract myself with something unproductive. After all, sometimes you just need to take a nice break and have a little fun...right?
So I had a little "guilty pleasure" with something that I hadn't done in a very long time:
Not that there's anything wrong with them.
But for about a year I had fasted from video games for a reason, and today paid me

So what's a Christian to do?
Well, the first thing that came to mind about this is John 8:1-11 :
John 8:1-11 New International Version (NIV)
(1) But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. (2) At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. (3) The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group (4) and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. (5) In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" (6) They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. (7) W
A Great Big Hug From GodCurrently dealing with a cold I caught last night (a really sore and sticky throat). I believe I caught it from my dad when he sneezed into the air as we both rode in the same car (he goes to work and also drives me to college). Ah well... Not to worry though. It's nothing I haven't dealt with before. I'm just nursing myself at home. Thankfully I don't have classes on Fridays anyway.A Great Big Hug From God in Personal More Like This

I had it since two nights ago, it just mysteriously surfaced from I-dunno-what. That IcyHot ointment didn't really work so well; it somewhat helped the pain on my shoulder, but not so much on my neck. Now the pain on the right side of my neck feels worse and the pain on the shoulder feels less painful. I can move my right arm around just fine though; my shoulder was worse yesterday and made using my arm really uncomfortable.
