Chapter 3: Carly
It was as if the world stood still. My head was pounding and my hands were shaking lightly, but I tried to keep my straight face!
After a few seconds of silence he forced himself to look at the General but he didn't loosen up one bit. He was just as tense as I was.
"No..." I thought to myself. I felt my heart drop in my chest. Of all people I got him! Why him? This was just my luck! This was the same man from earlier, who heard me call him an asshole and who I clearly made a very bad first impression on. This was going to be a rough start and with the plans I had for myself he was not going to take it easy on me!
"This young lady will be under your command. Get her back on track, understood?"
"Yes sir!" he yelled, saluting the General.
The General turned to me "This is Officer Beilschmidt. He will be your superior and he will break you" He said slowly, hissing.
I didn't say anything. I looked at my new superior with dullness. I had no interest in him what so ever!

Chapter 1: An Abused Child...
I ran to my room and slammed the door, holding it shut. I was scared, I was shaking and I knew trouble was coming for me soon. I hadn't done anything wrong really. I had just gotten home 5 minutes too late, but with my "father" there was no arguing. I would be punished. I just felt like screaming. They weren't even my real parents, my real parents gave me up when I was little and instead I was adopted by my supposed to be parents from America. I hated it here, I had always hated it here. They had abused me for as long as I could remember and it only got worse as I got older, making me more stubborn, more unwilling to obey. They didn't deserve to see me break. My mother wasn't as bad as my father though. Yes, she would slap me from time to time and she would yell at me, but my father was a different matter. Often I had to go to school with a ripped lip, strained fingers or wrists and lie my way through all the bruises on my body during gym class. I isolated

Chapter Six: Destroying Freedom
The fact was, Alfred loved war.
He loved fighting and watching things blow up. It gave him a sort of harsh, deadly thrill.
But this time was different. This war wasn't fun or thrilling or satisfying in any way.
No, this war was absolute torture.
Alfred spun the wheel of the large ship sharply to the left.
Cannons boomed, followed by a sickening crackling sound.
"Dammit!" Alfred swore, quickly spinning the wheel in the opposite direction again.
He got caught in another naval battle as he was patrolling the coastline.
Though, it wasn't a surprise.
It seemed like nine out of ten times you sent a ship out, they would be caught up in a fight with an enemy ship.
The only difference was that this time, Alfred was captain of the ship and he had never been captain before.
He was getting desperate. The British ship they were against were the same size as Alfred's and matched them with gun count and crewmen.
At this point, the British ship was following him so clos

Chapter Eight: New Orleans and the Furious Brit
Alfred sat on his porch sipping a hot cup of tea and munching on some hamburgers as he watched the sun rise over the trees on a surprisingly warm winter's morning.
He set his tea cup down and stretched back to lie on the smooth wooden boards.
He was calm and happy. Everything was absolutely spectacular and right with the world.
...Alfred wished that were true. Honestly, he still wasn't peaceful and the world felt like it was still shaking under his feet even though the war was supposed to be over.
There was one last thing that was bugging him. One thing he couldn't quite shake off.
His free hand slowly traveled up towards his shoulder, touching the clean bandages gently with his fingers.
He then slowly sat up again to reach under his shirt, around to the bandages that wrapped around his stomach and back.
One feeling he couldn't shake, it was eating him up behind his apparent calm atmosphere.
He sighed, pulling his hand out of his shirt an

Chapter Eleven: Making Peace With Your Brother
The battle in New Orleans marked the last battle of the dreaded War of 1812.
A war of passion, a war of revenge, and a war for freedom.
It was the war that tore two brother apart.
Yet, after the final battle to end the whole dispute, it brought them closer.
The War of 1812 also marked the last war the United States would ever have against Great Britain again.
Bottled up feelings were uncapped, lifting off the large weight that hung over both brothers' shoulders.
Thus, America entered the "Era of Good Feelings". It would be a time of happiness and prosperity for the young country.
America could finally move forward and build up his everlasting empire as much as he wanted.
As for Great Britain, at least he could say that he was finally at a temporary peace with the young country.
The two brother could finally be just that, two brothers.
It was an early winter's morning. Snow flurries were beginning to fall from the sky and onto the ground. T
