Louise was a young girl that loved the sea too much. Every night, as the Moon rose, she would dance with the waves and cover herself with sea foam, completely giving herself to her love to the salty waters of the eternal oceanic river.
Her love for the water and her dances was not ignored by the forces of Nature, and every evening the waves would anxiously wait for her k

Vincent Kaayan remembered his first kiss. The thrill, the feeling, the environment. The water around him didn't chill him. He also remembered the water being clearer than normal. The taste of her was sweet. He almost felt like he could have held his breath forever right then and there. Her eyes...her beautiful green eyes, they shimmered under the water. Though her fur was shorter, the way it moved with the current, it made her look angelic to him. And she may as well have been an angel. Because to Vincent...she was out of this world. And in that environment, they kissed, their first kiss. Vincent had never before kissed, and he would not have his first kiss any other way...
Vincent sat against a beach boulder, eyes closed, just remembering that day, four years ago. It had gotten a little...dangerous...but it wouldn't be the last time things would happen. Tomorrow would be the day four years ago, that he first met Aestus Tsunamaki. A love unlike any other love. She was...

Vincent woke up the next morning as always, feeling like his usual self. Or, at least like his usual self when he wasn't around Aestus. The Lontra who kept to himself, rarely spoke unless spoken to,and almost always had headphones visible in his ears. Vince could feel the store already heading to it's next destination, wherever that would be. Vincent didn't really pay much attention to where they would be going week after week. Month after month. He simply got up, dressed in his usual attire, and went downstairs to prepare Electronics for the customers of...wherever their next destination was. If they would even have customers. People usually didn't shop for technology in a magic store. Vince could only feel that it was only a matter of time before he'd be laid off...again.
No one bothered him. A thing for the moment he was quite thankful for. For the most part. Tracy every now and then would shoot him a few sentences, exclamations, and statements. Stuff that was resolved

Vincent was completely uncomfortable. His head throbbed in pain, there was slight discomfort in his chest, and he felt numerous small cuts and bruises all along his body. He could also feel the waves of an ocean washing against his side. The salt in the water met some of the cuts in his side. Introduced to the wounds, the salt gave his body an unpleasant sting, and as he regained consciousness, he gave a sharp inhale of pain. Breathing wasn't right. There was something in his lungs. It felt like some of the salt was in his lungs...as if he'd fallen into this ocean perhaps. He was soaking wet. He could feel it. Breathing hurt. The salt coated his lungs in places, and he felt as if there was a small amount of liquid just introduced to them. Feeling this, he rolled to his side and coughed sharply as his body tried to get rid of the liquid now in his lungs.
"It's about time you're awake!" a voice said. From the sound of it, it sounded young and was female. And though to nor

"Vince!" a voice cried out. It sounded so familiar. He could almost see the voice. Who it belonged to. Part of his brain was working to try and figure out who it belonged to. But he didn't have the will. All he really wanted...was to sleep. All other will power was gone. "Vince!" the voice called again. "Come on, Vince! Breathe!" Breathe...He didn't even have the willpower to do that. Yet he felt air rush into his lungs. He didn't inhale such a breath. Something forced it down...it was strange. He felt as if this sensation was so familiar to him...yet it was also strange. Like this was some new level. "Please, Vince! Wake up! Breathe!"
A sharp compression to the chest, and Vince began to cough out the saltwater in his lungs again. He was on the shore, and he rolled over to his side, giving off a series of sharp hacks and coughs as his body once again fueled itself off the air. He felt dizzy, and the saltwater residue made his lungs sting with each inhale he took.

The work life at the place called the Witches Corner, was an experience to say the very least. After Vincent got laid off from his previous job, Amethyst's brother called him in, he was introduced to...a very unique manager, and well, a week later, he was doing business in the electronics department. The interview was about the only time he didn't have headphones on at the job. Everyone at work saw him with them on. It wasn't that he didn't care (in fact he could still work, and hear with them on), but part of him worked much more comfortable around the presence of people who handled magic for a living. The strange manager, his partner in electronics, and many others had tried to get him to part with them while at work...with no success (in fact he only seemed to have them off around Aestus). He was one of the few, if not the only associate in this store who was not at all in touch with magic. Well, not exactly. Though he hated to admit it, he used something magic almost everyd

The environment of the ocean always calmed Vince down. The smell of the salt air, the sound of the waves breaking on the sand, the feeling of the water as it washed against his legs toward him, and away from him as if trying to pull him into it's clutches. He smiled at the thought, but mainly smiled at the simple thought of his lover who lived in it. She was laying with him on the sand right now. Her light blue body cuddled up along his dirty brown body. He didn't know how long they had been like this. Tonight seemed like a very calm night. A night they had not had for a while. Maybe since the first days of their relationship.
They had not gone swimming, had not spoken much, hey just lay on the shore, enjoying each others company. And despite the lack of activity, Vince found himself at peace and very happy. He felt his face slowly fall until it rested on Aestus' head. He wrapped his arm around her waist, scooting

The cool night air felt nice against Vincent's fur. He sat in his jeep, and rested his eyes. He could hear the ocean waves not too far away, but was listening mainly to the music playing from the jeep stereo. It was music that calmed him after long days, or got him in the mindset for things to come. Or just music to play because he wanted to hear it. Hell, it could be all three at once. Perhaps now was one of those times. Working at the Witches Corner was not a walk in the park for Vincent. The world he lived in was strange...and some of it made him very uncomfortable. Magic was a big one. Spells, potions, enchantments, it all didn't sit right with him. So one could only wonder why he worked with a lot of people who were heavily involved with that kind of thing. Of course, he didn't have much a choice. He didn't really have anywhere else to go. This job was there when he needed work...and thankfully, he didn't work with or around magic. He wasn't about to start either.

The air felt very cool to Vince. Very... He was in a very comfortable sleep. He was dreaming. It was a familiar dream, one he had many times before, especially after involving himself with Aestus in this relationship. He was underwater in this dream. Breathing. He could see her clearly in the dark. See her...and stay with her.
Strangely his breathing seemed difficult. As if something was clogging his nose. He gave a mental sigh. He knew he was dreaming. He had likely caught a small cold or something. Strong one be it that. It was very uncomfortable to even try to breath through it. Nothing was getting through. He also felt it strange that he didn't feel completely asleep. He felt...somewhat conscious. Like his brain was half awake for some reason. Even breathing seemed...straining. Like there was something pushing against the chest.
He then heard a beeping noise begi

A knock came at the door. Vince, who was sitting up in his bed barely glanced at the door. He had a good guess as to why the knock came in the first place. He didn't care. He didn't care about a lot of things right now. He simply sighed, and continued to sit in his...rather darker than usual room. It had been five days since Aestus had returned to the sea, given up her land capabilities just to tolerate water again. Vince wasn't complaining. That one disability almost killed her. He couldn't bare to think of anything similar ever happening like that again. But...his bed felt so much emptier now...and it wasn't even that big a bed to begin with. With her in it...he felt whole...
The knock came again. “Vince? You in there?”
“Come in...it's open.” Vince replied.

Vincent lay with Aestus. Her head lay on his left shoulder, and his left arm wrapped around her, and rested on her belly. One of her hands, held it gently. Vince smiled. He didn't know if she was awake, or resting her eyes, but they were both snug into each other, and very comfortable.
Vince was finally finding some peace in his head again. Things were almost normal for him. Sure, he and Aestus were back at square one as far as wondering how they would be able to stay with one another, but...for the moment...neither of them had cared. It had almost seemed to Vince, that during the time Aestus was a Lontra, he just felt like he had taken her for granted a bit. He may or may not have, but he felt a completely different feeling with her now. His love for her was the same, but he just wanted to make sure...that it didn't change. After her return to the sea, he healed and stayed where he was for three days. Almost like

The Magical Warriors Chapter 1: The Warriors' RiseSince the dawning of time, the world has needed heroes. The people were suppressed by monsters whose only desire was to kill and destroy. Led by the lizard like Gorgon, the monsters brought death and destruction to all they cam across. The people cried out for someone, anyone to save them. But no one had both the bravery and the skill to survive an encounter with any of the monsters. Anyone who was brave enough to stand against them fell, dying horrible and painful deaths. Until Aquarius arose. Imbued with powerful magic of Water, Fire and Earth, he defeated the lesser monsters easily. But he knew he could not keep fighting alone. And he could not hope to face the more powerful monsters and survive, despite his skill with the sword and shield and magic. Thus he searched the lands and recruited anyone with the smallest hint of magic. Aquarius’ warriors became known as the Magical Warriors, as each one could control the elements. Jillisa Mermaid Transformation StoryThe weekend had finely come for Jillisa. It had been a long hard week at the office and she needed a escape for the weekend, so she went to the beach. When she got there she found the beach crowded with people. Turned out that she was not the only one thinking of the beach this fine beautiful day in California. The boardwalk was not so crowded, and long the boardwalk were small shops or vendors with portable stands selling everything from cool pop to trinkets, to jewelry. Bored and disappointed at not finding a good spot in the sand to just lay out and enjoy the sun she browsed along checking out the different sellers, and what they had to offer. Jillisa stood out in the crowd of people walking along the boardwalk. Sure she was attractive with full breast, shapely legs, long brown hair, and soft blue eyes, but what made her stand out was that she was one of those that loved the color pink. It was her favorite color. She wore a 2 piece pink bikini, pink flip flops, and carried a pink puJillisa Mermaid Transformation Story in Short Stories More Like This

There still was not much to see, the bang sticks, 3 water tight plastic suitcases, a 43 inch rubber power spear gun with 2 rubber band and a reel just ahead of the trigger, a small spear gun that looked like a pistol version, this one didn't have any rubber tubing on it. Which was on a flexible rubber dive belt. She was later to learn it was powered by a piston in side. A 63 inch long spear gun with a reel ahead of the trigger. Next to this spear gun was a carbon fiber pole spear, which was just a carbon fiber pole spear that was connected to a bit of rubber tubing. All of the spear guns were made of either aluminum or carbon fiber. A short handle 2 foot oval fisherman's landing net with a 2 1/2 long fiberglass pole and neoprene gloves sat along another wall. It was still filled with food, and together they ate a sandwich out of it, but the food just didn't seem to taste near as good as the seafood that she had been eating lately it seemed so artificial. The apple and oranges still tasted great, just the bread and ham sandwich seemed to have that taste that really cheap donuts have. For a while after they had finished their meal they just sat there enjoying the sun as it made its way down the sky to rest beneath the waves. There was no sound of traffic or of people, or barking dogs just the sound of seagulls and the surf. It was all so very peaceful. Was she willing to give such a day like this up to go back to working a 9 to 5 job ? Could she get used to ended each day looking over the ocean like this before going to rest at sundown ? We were ready when the doors to Xanadu were opened Friday morning. Like the other longtime vendors, Janice and Marlon expected a major increase in business over past Kubla Cons due to the anticipated increase in attendance, and they were right. It was not long before the Flying Penguins were doing a brisk business. Having a prime location - one of the benefits of seniority - certainly didn't hurt us at all either.
From the start Janice, Marlon, and Sally (none had missed a Kubla Con since it began) were impressed with the large number of customers who seemed to have multiple costuming interests. The first lightsabers we sold, for example, were to a couple dressed as the Mad Hatter and Alice in Wonderland; Sally then photographed them engaging in a 'duel' with Debbie and myself. Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble came along soon after and each bought a pair of our 'barefoot' shoes. So did a Lieutenant Nyota Uhura who purchased two pairs si

I had recently been laid off from my trucking job. The two years that had passed since my longtime employer had been bought out had been enough of a bear I was almost relieved by the layoff, despite the weak economy. I quickly signed up for unemployment benefits and started looking for new work, but my heart was not yet in it. Quite frankly, I was 'burned out'. What I really needed was a vacation, I hadn't been able to take one since before the takeover. The new management had refused to give us carryovers credit for the time we had put in with our old employer, thus stiffing us out of our hard earned vacation time; some of us had never been able to fully forgive them for that.
Since my layoff had been in mid October, I decided to take a trip the first two weeks of November. That would give me time to get ready, be home well before the Thanksgiving travel crush, and hopefully line up at least a temporary job through the holidays.
I now had to decide

Shortly before we were to change our theme from Mer to Star Trek, Marlon went into our dressing room to exchange his King Neptune costume for civvies. A longtime friend was getting married that evening in Titusville and he wanted to get there with plenty of time to spare. "A wedding and the Con on the same day? Somebody's timing is off - but who's?" he said. Despite his seeming grousing, we could all tell he was really excited and looking forward to the special occaision, and we wished all well.
When Janice returned from her latest tour of the Con, Marlon hit the road for the coast. With only four of us now at our booth, we all stayed busy, but we were having too much fun to mind. All were now off lunch break, so we were well 'fueled' for the stretch run today, and would have a relatively relaxed clean up day tomorrow.
Next, Sally went in to put on her Vulcan eyebrows, ears, and makeup, as well as her Classic Trek uniform. When she came back out the chan

By late morning I was finally at the head of the line. When a woman with long reddish hair called 'next', I wheeled over to her place at the table, then we both looked at each other in amazement: we had the same upswept eyebrows and pointed ears, plus partially webbed fingers (mine more so than hers). She could also see my tail in all it's finned and scaly glory.
"What are you?" she then asked me.
"A human mervulcan, and I do have green blood, believe it or not".
"I'll believe it. I'm a Vulcan mermaid, green blood and all. My fin is like yours, though the color is different".
After we gave each other our names, Hannah began entering the information I gave her into a laptop. After starting with a brief pre-and-post-change description of myself, I told her as best I could what Debbie, Janice, and Sally had looked like just before the Change had occurred, and that I had Janice's
Mermaids to the Rescue ! Gizella sat at the door of the Coast Guard rescue helicopter, and surveyed the scene below. The fishing vessel Santurce rolled sluggishly from side to side in the heavy swells, and it's rigging meant each crewman would have to jump into the water and make it well clear before they could helped into the basket and be lifted to safety. Gizella felt some nervousness, but was cautiously confident as well. This was her first mission as a rescue swimmer, yet possibly no one was better prepared to tackle the task at hand than she was. She turned to face Yuki, her teammate, and signaled 'are you ready?' The noise of the overhead rotors made normal conversation impossible while the door was open. When Yuki responded 'yes', Gizella motioned to the pilot that they ready to go. Steve arrived at what had become our lakeside rendezvous point Tuesday morning. He had indeed driven all but nonstop from New Jersey, pausing for little except seven hours of sleep at a North Carolina motel on his way down to Orlando. When he arrived at the checkpoint he had no problem getting in: After identifying himself and telling the guardsmen who he was there to see, they simply waved him on in. He never had to show his ID - my message must have been powerful indeed.
Steve was very much taken aback when he first saw me, but quickly recovered and began asking me questions about my transformation, how I had come to be at the Kubla Con in the first place, and so forth. I was glad to answer him, and the others present (Janice, Debbie, Sally, and some of my new mermaid friends) had more to tell him as well.
Eventually Steve asked me if I really could breathe underwater. For an answer I submerged, then rolled onto my back so my face was about

The past present and futureSo this is the begging? The past present and future in Free Verse More Like This
This is where the race starts.
The past is behind me.
The present came to quickly and is anything but good
The future lies before me unraveling its secrets too fast and too slow
Still I can’t help but wonder,
Will I reach the finish line the way I am now?
Will I lose my smile?
Will I lose my laugh?
Will my goals change
Will l my heart be stolen?
Slowly I step onto the linoleum and I smile.
All of this fear may seem stupid in the future, but right now it lets me know that I am alive and sane.
The past is behind me which is where it will stay; I will never stray back into those painful memories.
The present is now and not the good one, but then again when has it ever been good this is life.
The future lies before me its path unknown its turns unchosen.
But that’s the best thing about life isn’t it?
It is neither good nor bad.
Instead it’s what you make of it.

I yawned as the hour hand struck twelve. My body yearned for sleep, but my mind was determined to finish my homework.

He was there, like he always is. This time the boy/man that I always dream of was sitting on a bench reading a book. I sat down beside him and touched his arm. His violet eyes looked at me and he smiled. He put his book down beside him and cupped my face.
"My dear sweet, Arianna, something bad is coming. I can feel it. Be ready for the worst." He warned just like he did in my last dream. The only difference was that instead of him being around my age he was a man probably in his thirties and we were in a forest.
"What do you mean?" I asked wanting to know what could be so bad. He leaned down and kissed my forehead.
"Goodbye." He said simply.

“If something was I wouldn’t be coming to you and you will address her as Princess Isabella.” He said roughly. I guess he was right; after all he was Isabella’s guard.
“Then what’s wrong?” I asked him wanting to go back to bed.
“Alcwyn just came into the area, I thought you would like to know since it involves your friend.” He said.
“You thought of me!” I joked knowing that he was probably doing this under the order of my Isabella.
“Isabella did, now get dressed or we are leaving you.” Andrus said.
“Why are all you vamps in such a hurry?” I asked. Andrus slammed the door to my question. I chuckled at that then quickly got some clothes on.
“Grā are you done yet?”
