Louise was a young girl that loved the sea too much. Every night, as the Moon rose, she would dance with the waves and cover herself with sea foam, completely giving herself to her love to the salty waters of the eternal oceanic river.
Her love for the water and her dances was not ignored by the forces of Nature, and every evening the waves would anxiously wait for her k

She showed me her arm today
Broken down, without a word to say
She lay in my arms and cried
And told me she can't decide
Between death and being alive
I saw all her bloody, raw skin
Rocking back and forth
Her knees pulled to her chin
A wrecked little doll
All dirty and used
Tired of being nothing at all
Enjoy the persisting abuse
I told her it hurts me to see
How she crumbles eventually
How I die right before her eyes
When she slips from my sight
But she just smiled and said
She can't help it
I know she doesn't try to be bad
But she's killing me
Slaughtering me beyond recognition
Like she's completing my failed mission
Of destruction, pain and despair
I know she doesn't...she just can't care
But she holds, she grabbed my heart
She holds it and tears it apart
She cuts my skin and uses my blood
To paint a picture of murderous art
Most naive love I feel for this girl
She humbles me, my thoughts whirl
Confuses me into oblivion
Should I let go? Abandon her?
I love...but the burd
BreakableBe a little more careful with meBreakable in Free Verse More Like This
I told you how frail I am
I bruise easily, I crumble so fast
I am still so breakable
I wish you'd understand
That I am just awaking
Starting new, all naked and hurt
With no secrets
With no regrets
But you never want to accept
That I am not who I used to be
You just never forget
That I try to let go this grudge
By facing my fears
My greatest fear is you
I can't stay out of your life
Unless you let me go
I can't stop seeing you as enemy
Unless you talk this out with me
I am so tired of playing the game
But I never manage to write my own rules
I just stay in a corner of my deranged mind
And enjoy the abuse of being a tool
Life is so heavy lately
Why do you threaten to make it worse?
Why don't you accept that you are wrong too?
And that you deserve the pain you get
It has to have a reason
And honey, you are the reason yourself
Maybe if you'd agree with the truth
You'd be free and stop hurting those
Those few unrealistic friends
This hate and anger
I know it
A story of dispairDark. The sky was almost perfectly black. Not even the moon was shining. The water of the sea was lapping against the wall of the harbour.A story of dispair in Short Stories More Like This
Only the laughter of happy young people coming from the bars. Idiots. If they knew, they wouldn't be laughing ever again.
The man was lurking in the shadows. Hungry, hungry for more blood....more satisfaction.
He spotted the couple, young people, drunk, happy.
They kissed, their last kiss. He was sure of that.
Silently he pulled out the gun. Then drew closer to them, his black coat waving in the wind.
The first gun shot was tearing apart the silence of the night.
A scream, then the girl fell to the ground, tearing her lover down too.
A second shot, it's echo ringing in the darkness.
No more screams.
A red pool spreading out around the young, and forever young, couple.
An expression of shock on their attractive faces.
The tall man, the murderer, looked at them a few more seconds, lost in his thoughts.
Then he threw the gun into the

What Have I BecomeThey say just to let the emotions flow,What Have I Become in Free Verse More Like This
Is the secret of poetry,
The art within the writing of words,
Of placing the letters, carefully,
Not to be shy of filling the blanks,
Just defining what you know,
To use your feelings,
And to decorate the sheets,
But how can I write,
When all I feel,
Was ripped away,
By a force that I cannot describe?
When my core is a void,
And I cannot avoid,
Feeling nothing at all...
How am I supposed to choose,
The words that used to come,
By night, my quiet saviours,
Now lost within my soul,
Roaming the sky,
For this feeling of inspiration,
That I once cursed,
But was blessed with,
Now that it's gone,
I disappear into myself,
No way to get rid of,
All this poison,
That was crammed down my throat,
And without my words,
I'm nothing, just nothing at all,
I am no writer, no poet,
No artist anymore,
I might be able to place the letters,
In the right order,
It might look pretty,
But it lacks the emotion,

I now write to you from a hidden place,
I can see yours, but I covered my face,
Don't even try to find out about me,
It'll be bad for you, if you ever see,
Too weak to face the truth alone,
Too afraid to bring your friends,
Stranger I ask you in all honesty,
You'd rather burn, or drown in the sea?
How have you become so scarred?
Bones left broken, skin left charred,
We grew so far apart,
But tell me, where's your heart?
We fight and fight, but forget to breathe,
Furious and full of rage, we burn and seethe,
Stranger can you remember or recall,
What led us to stumble and fall?
I see you wriggle as you read my letter,
I know very well how much I matter,
You're exhausted and sinking in bitterness,
Slowly eaten alive by your self-inflicted distress,
I must move on now, I'll contact you later,
So you have time to label me the traitor,
Never have I cared - more - , neither have you,
Mistakes and pain have only ever reached through,

Life has lost it's meaning-
Pain sears through every bone,
and your heart feels like stone,
Life is heavy, a game you'll lose,
Avoiding failure, but you can't choose,
Everyone seems to wait for you to die,
There is no friendship, love is a lie,
But you've never given up hope,
I can see you still try to cope,
You're not dead, you're full of life,
It's waiting for you to begin to strive,
Unconsciously you chose happiness,
And you'll achieve it, though life is a mess,
I can tell that you'll keep going,
And I will stop the pain from showing,
Time will pass and things will look up,
Through death and despair, lots of bad luck,
You'll make it dear one, I always believed in you,
It's a sad thing to know this news is new,
I'll support you where I can, and you know this well,
Ask me nicely and I'll join you in hell,
I won't just let you die alone, you deserve better,
And what they scream, it just doesn't matter,
Here I hold out my aching hand,

I see you still, every day
I see how you fall apart
I try to help
But you never let me close
Not any more...
We used to be one
And I was whole
But then you fell back again
Into the abuse of drugs and pain
And I miss you
I miss the friend I once knew
I helped you out but now...
All that is left...
Is the empty, icy space next to me
The sound of your laughter
Ringing inside my ears
The feeling of your embrace
The thoughts and secrets we would share
Whispering sweet nothings...
All is missing from me now
And all I want to know
Is if you feel the slightest guilt
Knowing you left me to die?

But it feels so fake
It feels like a void
Filled with the purest of hate
My secret screams tear the cut
Open from ear to ear
The screams inside myself
Make me want to end it right here
And you make it worse each time
I see a word, or just a single line
That might be related to you
Your presence makes me feel a pain
The sweetest pain I know
And it is all my fault
I know, I know, I know
But the reason isn't the one you'd like it to be
I feel this hate, rage and shame
Because I am not strong enough
To just let go like you do
And I really admire you
But still my soul tells me the truth
That you and I are wasting our youth
And I don't know how to put it in words
This discontent I feel
The unhappiness inflicted by you

The air felt very cool to Vince. Very... He was in a very comfortable sleep. He was dreaming. It was a familiar dream, one he had many times before, especially after involving himself with Aestus in this relationship. He was underwater in this dream. Breathing. He could see her clearly in the dark. See her...and stay with her.
Strangely his breathing seemed difficult. As if something was clogging his nose. He gave a mental sigh. He knew he was dreaming. He had likely caught a small cold or something. Strong one be it that. It was very uncomfortable to even try to breath through it. Nothing was getting through. He also felt it strange that he didn't feel completely asleep. He felt...somewhat conscious. Like his brain was half awake for some reason. Even breathing seemed...straining. Like there was something pushing against the chest.
He then heard a beeping noise begi

Vince got up early the next morning, careful not to disturb Aestus. Man...Aestus...he still could not believe she was here. Just like that! A newly reborn Lontra! But, her lack of a will to talk much about how it had come to happen did not sit well with Vince at all. There was something off. Something wrong. He could feel it. Which was why he was up so early. Before his shift would start that day, he would go and see Turquoise, and get what Aestus would not give him. Answers. He hated leaving her...just when a possible life was starting here and now for them...but he had to make sure she was going to be safe...
He left Aestus the clothes that Lan had left them last night near her side of the bed. He hoped she would know how to dress herself...or that someone might help her...if it came to that, he hoped Lan would be the one...he felt as if she would be the only responsible one to help her. As he set them down

The environment of the ocean always calmed Vince down. The smell of the salt air, the sound of the waves breaking on the sand, the feeling of the water as it washed against his legs toward him, and away from him as if trying to pull him into it's clutches. He smiled at the thought, but mainly smiled at the simple thought of his lover who lived in it. She was laying with him on the sand right now. Her light blue body cuddled up along his dirty brown body. He didn't know how long they had been like this. Tonight seemed like a very calm night. A night they had not had for a while. Maybe since the first days of their relationship.
They had not gone swimming, had not spoken much, hey just lay on the shore, enjoying each others company. And despite the lack of activity, Vince found himself at peace and very happy. He felt his face slowly fall until it rested on Aestus' head. He wrapped his arm around her waist, scooting

Lan looked back to the Lontra, approaching her, guiding her out of any public eye, she once again gave a yell to Kai “Kai! Blanket! Something for cover at least! NOW!”
Kai finally shook himself from whatever trance he was in with the naked Lontra before him and went to find something to cover her up with. Lan sat her down behind a wall near the cooking area. She knew it likely wasn't the best place to seat this Lontra, but it was better than at a table out in the open where anyone could have seen her. “You said you're looking for Vince?” Lan asked.
She nodded. “I...I'm so sorry to come in like this...I just.....just...”
“You don't need to explain. Are you sure you're okay? You're not hurt or anything?”
“No.” she said quietly, still embarrassed to be in her naked self.
Lan looked around. Where was Kai with that damn blanket? She looked back to her, and spoke, “Sorry...Aestus was it?”
The Lontra gave a

Vincent woke up the next morning as always, feeling like his usual self. Or, at least like his usual self when he wasn't around Aestus. The Lontra who kept to himself, rarely spoke unless spoken to,and almost always had headphones visible in his ears. Vince could feel the store already heading to it's next destination, wherever that would be. Vincent didn't really pay much attention to where they would be going week after week. Month after month. He simply got up, dressed in his usual attire, and went downstairs to prepare Electronics for the customers of...wherever their next destination was. If they would even have customers. People usually didn't shop for technology in a magic store. Vince could only feel that it was only a matter of time before he'd be laid off...again.
No one bothered him. A thing for the moment he was quite thankful for. For the most part. Tracy every now and then would shoot him a few sentences, exclamations, and statements. Stuff that was resolved

The cool night air felt nice against Vincent's fur. He sat in his jeep, and rested his eyes. He could hear the ocean waves not too far away, but was listening mainly to the music playing from the jeep stereo. It was music that calmed him after long days, or got him in the mindset for things to come. Or just music to play because he wanted to hear it. Hell, it could be all three at once. Perhaps now was one of those times. Working at the Witches Corner was not a walk in the park for Vincent. The world he lived in was strange...and some of it made him very uncomfortable. Magic was a big one. Spells, potions, enchantments, it all didn't sit right with him. So one could only wonder why he worked with a lot of people who were heavily involved with that kind of thing. Of course, he didn't have much a choice. He didn't really have anywhere else to go. This job was there when he needed work...and thankfully, he didn't work with or around magic. He wasn't about to start either.

The world passed around Vincent Kaayan in many forms, shapes, and sounds. Time was lost, as was all states of his mind. There was nothing. Nothing but darkness. Darkness and silence. Vince felt nothing, saw nothing, and heard nothing. Was he dead? Perhaps. But it could be said that he certainly didn't feel dead. He didn't feel alive either, but he wasn't feeling dead yet...
Well...if death even had a feeling.
He just continued to drift though his different states of unconsciousness. Lost in a lost world. Lost in thought. Lost in feeling. He didn't know how long it had been like this. How long had he been out. How long had he been sleeping.
How long he had been dead...
It was then that he started to feel. He felt...something. Warmth. He started to feel...more. He heard. He could feel...a slight discomfort. Like a deep pain that discomforted him in such a way to

"Vince!" a voice cried out. It sounded so familiar. He could almost see the voice. Who it belonged to. Part of his brain was working to try and figure out who it belonged to. But he didn't have the will. All he really wanted...was to sleep. All other will power was gone. "Vince!" the voice called again. "Come on, Vince! Breathe!" Breathe...He didn't even have the willpower to do that. Yet he felt air rush into his lungs. He didn't inhale such a breath. Something forced it down...it was strange. He felt as if this sensation was so familiar to him...yet it was also strange. Like this was some new level. "Please, Vince! Wake up! Breathe!"
A sharp compression to the chest, and Vince began to cough out the saltwater in his lungs again. He was on the shore, and he rolled over to his side, giving off a series of sharp hacks and coughs as his body once again fueled itself off the air. He felt dizzy, and the saltwater residue made his lungs sting with each inhale he took.

A few months passed by after the incident with Lynks and Kai. Needless to say, Vince took necessary precautions he felt were necessary to protect his room better in the months that followed. He had also gone to a few of the work get-togethers as he said he would. He still spent most of his time with Aestus, and was thankful he did. He guessed when you told a couple people you loved a Merkuran, people had a natural tendency to be curious. At these parties, though he would be careful who he spoke with, sometimes Kai and Lynks would speak with him, under alcoholic influence.
Vince, having quit alcohol four years back, Vince politely refused any offered to him, and simply talked. Though...the questions did get...very weird. Vince chuckled. For all he knew he would have to explain the full details of the relationship and how it worked with him sooner or later.
The questions did however make him think of the relationship he shared with Aestus. What they wanted from their relatio

A couple weeks had passed, and Vince was just lying on the sands of the beach, feeling the sun warming his fur. He was alone. Aestus was out doing something, and had left him alone, though he really didn't need to go anywhere. She'd be back. He smiled and closed his eyes. The feelings of peace were back. He breathed in, and out. He felt the waves rolling over his sandaled feet. The tide already flowed all the way in and likely in the beginning stages of going out. Vince didn't care. He just lay there, feeling the sun against his chest, and the weight of the pendant lying down on his sternum.
He sat up, and held it in his hand, getting lost in his own thoughts. Earlier today, Aestus had shown him hers. There was something weird about it. Normally her necklace not only had her color, and his, but also showed her sisters. Now...those colors were barely showing at all. Aestus gave a theory that becaus

The fisherman pulled the net onto their boat, and were of course shocked to see their catch. I am certain by the way they first acted they thought I was a human boy who had fallen overboard, but after they started to open the net to help me out they noticed I was a merman. Dawn had broken many hours ago, and the sun was now nearing its peak. Far below the Dragon Temple rose up in all of its glory. Its smooth white stone walls shone in the bright sunlight. At the south east corner of the Temple a large domed coliseum loomed up around several smaller buildings. All were connected by long halls that stretched between the structures, connecting them like spokes in a giant wheel.
A garden of statues surrounded the coliseum, here the memorials of all the heroes, both named and unnamed stood. For these heroes had defended the Temple against the second resurrection, and Malefor's ar

The logs lit up with a flash of red, yellow and purple. Torch took a quick step back away from the fire, surprised by how quickly they had flared to life. Beside him Jaxar clapped in approval, his grin just barely visible from under his shroud.
“Excellent! You have picked up rune magic faster than any of my other apprentices. Most impressive.”
Torch beamed at this, staring at the crackling fire with narrowed eyes. He, Jaxar, and Pandora sat together in a small campsite nestled in a small nook of the jungle. The shrubs and plant-life ha

Sunlight streamed through the open windows of the orphanage, and into Lyrith's sleeping eyes. He winced, and slowly opened his eyes, blinking to get the glare out of his vision. He quickly adjusted to the bright light, bringing his room into focus. It was much how he had left it when he had fallen asleep, although the colours were clearer and more vibrant in the bright sun. The deep brown of the wooden chest between his two windows was clearly visible. The many colourful pillows that made up his bed livened up the dreary grey of the stone walls. The wooden table that sat in the center of Lyr's room cast a long shadow across his room. Little smudges of red dotted the cold stone floor, mementoes of last night's fight.

The summer sun meandered slowly towards the horizon over the small town of Darrowlight. Long, angular shadows pooled in the wake of the tired sun; shadows made even darker by the vast presence of the Dragon Temple looming high on its rocky throne. A warm breeze whistled through the streets and alleyways and sang to the tired workers on their way back home.
A young white dragon stalked down the half empty road. He was small for his age, with an oddly feminine frame. His reed thin body was, however, as tough as leather and coiled with ropes of muscle. Long, silvery scars etched his pearl

Aephion sat up sharply as a great clamour rose outside the chamber, a rabble of voices and conversations all seeking to be heard over one another. The armoured wind dragon cleared his throat and moved to stand in the center of the doorway with a gesture to the feline guards to open the doors for those on the other side. He shook out his lithe body and gave his paws a quick polish as the stone entryway began to open before he looked back up and gave his most presentable and respectful smile.

Torch’s grumblings echoed along the passage the entire time they wandered. Minutes passed by in the shadow painted corridor, Torch often having to conjure some fire to light the treacherous, rock strewn road. They eventually emerged into a worked stone corridor after nearly half an hour of searching. The walls were built up with stone brick unlike the other structures they had previously seen in Frosthelm. Torch peeked his head into the entrance and took a quick look around. The crowd hushed as an eerie light shone out from under Thunder, white rays sending ripples across the crowd. Voltlyn leaned closer to the ledge of the arena, blue eyes wide in fright. The green outline of the gate snapped shut, leaving Jaxar and Torch in the darkness of the night. Clouds hung overhead, with only a faded trickle of moonlight able to escape the stormy skies. A drizzle of rain drifted over the land, shrouding the lush green hills before them in a thin mist. Torch grimaced as the wetness began to glaze his scales and he looked to Jaxar enviously as he threw up his hood to block the rain.
“That is where Kai-Lun is being held.” Jaxar pointed to a small monastery a short distance away from the faded lights of a sleeping town. “Apparently a small group of wizards hunted him down and captured him after he butchered an entire village some ten years back. He was moved to this abandoned monastery when they couldn’t find a way to kill him.”
Torch looked to Jaxar with a hint of anxiety. “Butchered an entire village?”

Voltlyn shut her journal and sighed. She wrung out her paw, which was cramped from the four pages of thought she had dumped into the entry. She eyed the book after a moment of relaxing on the pillow and realized just how few empty pages were left in the small tome. The lock of the journal clicked shut and she slipped the book back under her bed, along with the other she’d written.
It seemed like such a long time ago that she’d started writing in these books, yet it had hardly been a few months. Ever since she’d joined Savron’s gang she’d felt the urge to write down her experiences with them. It had been an old habit o

The doors to the Guardian’s chamber swung open and the staff trudged in. Behind them a dozen guards held back a rabble of students, whose questions and threats were incomprehensible over the shouts of their peers. Inferna was the first inside and she breathed a sigh of relief. The Fire Guardian turned to watch the rest of her colleagues enter while the guards struggled to keep the shouting students in line.
Movement under Inferna’s wing drew her attention and she lifted it to look down at Lyrith, whom she had sheltered the entire trip there. The white dragon’s gaze was downcast, his body tense and hunched over. A pang of worry ra

You cannot see it,
but it is always there.
It follows you wherever you go.
Taunting - teasing - bearing
its metallic teeth - waiting.
Ever so patient,
like a stalking sentry.
Always looming in the
background of your thoughts.
You cannot run or shun
its powerful hold.
At anytime it can attack -
relentless in its pursuit.
Like a shadow with ill intent -
all its will is bent
toward one thing.
As a claw that slowly scratches
down your back leaving chills behind.
Hot breath on your exposed neck
imparts an imprint on your haunted hallucinations.
It is unavoidable and indifferent.
It knows no mercy or rival.
A frosty breeze that freezes your blood -
making your hair stand on end.
There is no light in this endless night.
There is no waking from this demented dream.
I am frightened till my last desperate breath.
There is no escape from our last enemy - Death!

The meaning has faded
as a dream forgotten.
The questions surround
and peck at me like
so many birds.
The answers are just out of reach.
I stretch my trembling fingers
toward a purpose.
A concrete truth eludes.
A cemented idea evaporates,
leaving me breathless and shaking.
Reality has fled.
I am left with semi-images...
of loss and regret -
falling through a symbolic net.
Confusion consumes - I've lost my place.
My sense of belonging- vanished.
I stumble toward a wisp of hope.
Meandering on this precarious path,
disillusioned and despondent.
The darkness approaches,
sending tendrils of despair
to entangle and wrap around my cold heart.
How did I get here?
Where will I go, when
all the lights go out?

They are fighting again.
A pattern is forming.
I'm seeing a trend.
The signs are alarming.
Very soon their voices will raise -
I am only eight and I am afraid.
In the kitchen the tempers are flaring.
They don't realize the burden I'm bearing.
Mommy has shattered a dish on the floor.
Daddy's fist has gone through a door.
My mind tries to drift to a place and a time
when we all got along and everything was fine.
It's really getting harder to find.
Father is angry and Mother is not kind.
She is screaming at the top of her lungs -
something about money, women, and drugs.
Now his violence will be aimed toward me.
If I stay still and quiet maybe he won't see.
My little sister is starting to cry -
she doesn't understand, she doesn't know why.
We should hide in our room and play a fun game.
And try to block out our family's secret shame.
Tonight will be filled with pain and with sorrow.
Hopefully we'll get to see the light of tomorrow.

She interweaves through multiple dimensions.
Sometimes she lets me be.
She travels on bridges suspended
by nothing visible that I can see.
She hides in shadows of living fear.
She fades into vapor when I am near.
Strange, that I can feel her
without my sense of touch.
Odd, that I love her without even trying.
She exists in fragile bubbles
filled with poison air...tainted
oxygen that I willingly share.
My hand holds hers briefly and then
erupts the searing pain.
Lava flows through her thinly lined veins.
Tender tendrils reach for my deepest
emotions and gently prods till I confess.
She holds my heart in her palm and
massages away all my stress.
She exudes an everlasting light
that I grab onto tightly - a bright star
for my black hole.
Everyone misses what I so plainly know.
There are some places I can never go.
Her breath is fire that soothes my crawling skin.
I would gladly go blind to stay within -

I fell in that hole you dug for your mind.
I got lost in that maze made just for you.
You are so simple. I am so stupid.
Why don't I feel what I know I should?
Blind to an angel...
with wings to hold me down.
I am awake, yet sleeping...
dreaming of a girl.
She keeps me guessing,
but I know her well.
This is a concern of mine...

A gaping hole exists in

You cannot force a feeling.
My heart just cannot lie.
I will not force my heart
to have to tell me why.

There is a soft hand I've never held before,
