The man behind it harps on about liberty being his motivation for doing it.
Liberty has to be tempered with responsibility, otherwise you just have anarchy. Using new technology to build a gun doesn't make you a champion for freedom, it makes you an attention seeking moron who gives the powers-that-be REASON to restrict it. They will now do everything the can to prevent the proliferation of the technology. They

Guys are fascinated by them.
Through single-digit ages, they find the very concept of them hilarious, and when puberty kicks in the mere thought of lady-lumps generally causes some movement in the trouser department. These weak-willed creatures will follow them anywhere and they will do almost anything if it means simply being permitted to gaze upon them for a few moments more.
The entertainment industries, from the big movie makers to the lowly art whores (like me) know this, and have played upon it for years in order to separate males from their money. As a result, mass media is awash with the female form in all manner of provocative poses and dress.
Many women are fed up with this, but is the whole thing “sexist”?
Well, it’s impossible and indeed wrong to say a whole industry is one thing or another. Ultimately it’s all one, big, dumb organism that simply moves with the cultural winds. It perpetuates what sustains it. It’s only when you break it

For those not in the know; SPECTRE was the villainous organisation that was constantly trying to trigger World War 3 in the early Bond movies and pretty much every super-villain that 007 was sent out to stop was a member of the SPECTER hierarchy. At the top of this criminal network was the shadowy figure known only as “Number One”, who, after a multi-film build-up, personally introduced himself to Bond (and the audience) during You Only Live Twice as Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
Now, the last anyone saw of Blofeld was when Roger Moore dropped him down a chimney, and SPECTRE was never mentioned again because of an ongoing squabble over ownership of the name. During Daniel Craig’s tenure as Bond, an underworld organisation identical to SPECTRE was hinted at but, disappointingly, named “Quantum”. More disappointingly, despite being really rather goo

Today I just stumbled upon a real gem: every episode of the legendary Gamesmaster has been uploaded to Youtube by someone destined for sainthood!
(No, not the sh*tty Nintendo propaganda cartoon.)
Gamesmaster was the first TV show to focus purely on video games and video game culture, and, with no internet back then, it was the only way I got to see most games.
My sole gaming platform was the old Commodore 64 warhorse, until I won a Megadrive/Genesis in '93 ("Design a character" competition), and it was another couple of years after that before I got a PC, so things like Monkey Island 2 I only got to see moving via Gamesmaster. Otherwise, it was just a case of staring lustfully at the screenshots on the back of the box.

There have been a few news articles to stoke my irritation over the last couple of months. Personally, I think all this crap is side-stepping the issue of diversity rather than addressing it. If the likes of Marvel were really serious about it, they’d invest time and capital creating new heroes who are a different gender/race from the get-go. Building up a new mythology for a female or black character would be so much str

One thing to note though, I’ve seen a lot of fans complaining that the dinosaurs don’t have feathers or look like “real” dinosaurs do as we’ve learned more through paleontology. And while I understand that concern I honestly don’t care. My personal headcannon is that these are genetically modified dinosaurs supplemented with amphibian DNA. As a result the fact that they’re not 100% accurate to our current knowledge of dinosaurs if A-OK in my opinion. Not to mention it’s a continuation of the Jurassic Park world, so switching things up now would just look weird. The T-Rex and Velociraptor are such iconic

I generally don't use a contract if the art I'm going to do is not for commercial purposes or the cost is under $100. What is art for commercial purposes? If the commissioner or client is going to use this image for monetary gain or advertising, that makes it commercial. I know the actual laws on the subject are more complicated, but that's a quick rule of thumb I use. Be wary of a client who doesn't want your signature on it. Even if they say they're not using it for commercial purposes, the unwillingness to let you sign your work may be an indication that they're not being entirely honest. A contract may be useful in this instance just in case.
It's not rude to ask for a contract. You are protecting yourself *and* your client. Any client with an interest in being fair will not object. You're not being pretentious. You may feel awkward asking for one at first, but it d

My name is rare. I have never met, in person, anyone else with it. I've heard of four of them because I look for it. I've even seen two on the news. One was a male baseball player (minor leagues, spelled different) and the other got her 15 minutes of fame for killing someone famous and then turning the gun on herself (spelled the same, got it by name change).
In all my life, I have only had one thing with my name on it (not written in marker for ID purposes), and it had to be special ordered.
I hated my name as a kid because no one could pronounce it correctly at school. (In retrospect, I realized that the fault was not with me or my name, but with teachers who were lazy and couldn't be bothered to take a second to sound it out.)

Make sure you are paid what it's worth to you.
Do a test run on a portion of what is being asked of you before you say yes or no. Time yourself. Multiply that by the volume of work you have to do, so you know about how long it will take.

We found some BARRELS!!
Biggest goddamn barrels I've ever seen.
And also tried our hands at the guns.
Gellyh knows how to use a swivel cannon.
Evidently ... I don't.
But it was seriously cramped in there, especially in the guests' cabins for transporting important people.
No, I mean really, really cramped.

For those who have not yet seen the news, I am looking to find voice actors for Louis, James, and Santiago from my upcoming animation production, Honour Amongst Thieves.VOICE ACTORS SOUGHT for Honour Amongst Thieves! in Personal More Like This
For those interested in trying out, read the rules in the Artist's Comments attached to this picture:
Due to the talkative nature of this film, I'm desperately in need of good voices, so tell your friends or family if you think one of them might be up to the part! And there are even PRIZES for the finalists! So go on, what are you waiting for? Head on over and try out!

"The City Council announces the opening of a new dog park at the corner of Earl and Sommerset, near the Ralph's. They would like to remind everyone that dogs are not allowed in the dog park. People are not allowed in the dog park. It is possible that you will see hooded figures in the dog park. DO NOT APPROACH THEM. DO NOT APPROACH THE DOG PARK. The fence is electrified and highly dangerous. Try not to look at the dog park, and, especially, do not look for any period of time at the hooded figures. The dog park will not harm you."

Almost finishedOk.Almost finished in Personal More Like This
50 pages of my graphic novel Obscura : done.
There's still some panels I want to remake.
And the cover - there's still no cover.
I want Obscura part one to be finished this year, though.
After that, I'll try to get it published, and if I can't, well, you will probably read it for free on DA.
Whatever the outcome is, I have learn stuff while making this, so I guess it was a good idea anyway.
Work in progress:
Cleaning the pages of Obscura (5/50)
Bipolar painting (Upper half done, the rest is half finished)
Myst fanart (Haven related) - halfway done, in standby
A random cardboard painting
Altered cards. A lot of them.
Stuff I'd like to do:
100 themes challenge (5/100)
Shaman King fanart
The Cell fanart
[Bullet; Orange] Neuro meme
More music videosI didn't expect it would be so difficult to add text to my comic pages. I keep changing the dialog, adding stuff, modifying entire parts until it has almost nothing to do with what I had in mind a few years ago, when I made the first pages.More music videos in Personal More Like This
I've only finished to write 12 pages so far... that's a shame.
Expect to see altered cards again around here, because I have some commissions to finish.
And now, some music videos. Why? Because.
I just like them for various reasons and wanted to share.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrTC2ROEYqQ Mike Oldfield, Heaven's open. An old fave, I was surprised to see the music video was animated when I checked it out a few years ago when I finally got Internet at home.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tY5RErnakc&ob=av2eOwl city, Alligator sky. "BOUUUUUH OWL CITY SUCKS". Can't care less, I love that guy's songs and the music videos too. They're uplifting. Especially this one.
Real Life and StuffHi everyone. I've been gone an awfully long time, and I am sorry for it. I have been around, just completely tied up in real life. From last year to now things have changed a lot, and after a bit of a tragedy in March, life seems to be getting back on track.Real Life and Stuff in Personal More Like This
Real life has a way of catching up with us all sometimes I suppose. I feel a bit lost admittedly, but I really hope that that will change soon. I feel older than I have been before and I have K and all of you to thank for my newfound wisdom. My writing is slowly getting back on track and my latest piece is a bit different from any others I have written.
I now live in a gorgeous little apartment above a wonderful wedding venue, and plan to get a dog the moment I have the opportunity to. I have been working full time at a special needs school and believe me, it is one of the most rewarding and amazing jobs ever. All of this in one year! Phew!
How have you guys been? How has real life been?
How to Get a Life.Exactly a year and a half ago today, my mother had turned to me and told me something. She had said, "You will never manage in the real world. You will never be independent. Stop trying, you just don't have it in you."How to Get a Life. in Personal More Like This
Today, I am happy to say, I have proved her wrong. Because I did exactly what I was supposed to do. I went out and got a life, and the kind of life I am proud of.
Over the last year, I have found my soulmate, completed my Masters, gone to Sweden and South Africa, got a job as a teaching assistant in a special needs school whilst I figure out my PhD and, as of the 8th of March, will be moving to my own very nice apartment with K.
Remember this. If I can do it, ANYONE can do it. I am not special, I am one of the 99 percent, and if I have the strength to fight, it is because you were all by my side every step of the way. Thank you...thank you for being there for me. Thank you for helping me change my world for the better.
I am back for good now, and I am going to try and ge
I've been away a whileI lost my words. Someone stole them from me. He broke me in two, he ripped my fingers in half and left me for dead.I've been away a while in Personal More Like This
I found them again, thanks to the patience and kindness of one man.
And then he was taken from me as well...for no fault of his own, but those of a few misguided words. I don't blame him. I never ever will.
How do you recover when you have nothing left to recover for?
Because I do have something to recover for. I have every single one of you. You give me faith...and hope and make me believe in myself. Thank you...thank you for making me believe in myself again.
I love you all.
A Special Moment.I wanted to share this with you guys because it is by far the most beautiful moment of my life.A Special Moment. in Personal More Like This
It happens to be the day I flew back. The flight back to England was very long, only because I knew what was waiting on the other side and I couldn't wait to see him again.
When I got off the plane, I don't think I have run faster in my life. I stood in front of the area where the bags were coming out and acted like some kind of idiot really because I was literally pacing around it trying to get my bags out as fast as possible. I borrowed a stranger's phone to call Kurt at that moment because I knew when I crossed those doors, he would be waiting for me on the other side. And when I walked out with my trolley of stuff, there he was. Right in the middle wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, his arms open wide to grab me, I could see him before I even walked out of the doors at Heathrow. I left my trolley at that point because honestly, I didn't give a damn where it went and in seconds

What are yours OCs for you ?I'm in a strange mood theses days... It's already 5am in Japan and I'm thiinking about this...What are yours OCs for you ? in Personal More Like This
Maybe this should have been for a poll question... Anyway...
I wanted to ask you, what are yours OCs for you ? * w *
What do they represent for you ? What's happening to you when you've drawn an OC ?
Drawing a new OC is a wonderful process... But I discovered by doing it that, I can't draw any new character without thinking about his story, his background, his world etc...
That's because I'm a comicker perhaps. ^ ^ because I draw stories...
For me, OCs are real, they need to... And sometimes I can feel some love for them. * w * They are like my children I could say...* v *'
What about you ?

Next week it will be almost two months I live in Japan. Life is good and I'm starting taking my habits... * v * Well, I post that journal entry to ask you a question about art...
It's a simple question like that, for artists... I want to know your thoughts about this...
I know that when we're drawing an illustration, the goal is to draw what we have in our mind.
It's how you evaluate your level, yours skills. If you're able to put on the support the most accurate piece of what you have in your mind.
Theses are the rules of the game.
I know that we never draw what we have in our mind at 100 %. For me, it must be at 30 % ?! ° ° My illustrations are far from the way I saw them in mind... The compositions are rights but the colors are completly differents...! °°
So here is my question. Imagine you have superpower. You're able to put on your support what you have on your mind at 100 %, without any efforts. I mean, you know the way to ge

November something something.
I've got to come up with a better system for telling what day it is. Maybe I could scrawl numbers on the back of my shoe? Nah, that sounds like something silly that Pilot would do.
I'm currently carrying a calendar that says 2012 on it, but I am pretty sure that these days aren't correct anyway to our year and Captain keeps scribbling things in the margins whenever I get distracted enough for the calendar to be snatched out of my hands. I found the calendar more or less intact and it's kinda impressive that it lasted from way back in 2012. It must have held some sort of personal importance to it's owner to seal it away in a plastic container with words "the Mayans were wrong, trust no-one!"
I've been trying to keep track of how old I am, but I keep forgetting to check off every day in the calendar or maybe captain is messing off with me by erasing my checkmarks.
Something tells me I shouldn't be telling Captain about my birthday anyway. I would

My personal online psychiatrist is making me narrate this nonsense down on the chip embedded in my tooth in hopes that someday I may be cured of my "incompatibility" with ANNET, or at least possibly reduce the "mild psychosis caused by work-related stress" as she calls it.
I know that it's not going to happen. The problem is something genetic and while those goons in the genetics department would love to get their machines into my brain, I prefer the lack of sleep and headaches to lobotomy.
I seen the reports on their test subjects: "total neural shut-down", "subject resists integration with the net, increasing the signal strength lead to damage to the 85% of the frontal lobe."
Call me old fashioned, but I like my brain the way it is.
I've had that day-dream again. Day-mare is more likely.
A flash-mare? Not sure what to call these, really.
The transmitter towers dotting this bloody city are making my life difficult, but not as difficult as the fact that everyone expects me t

She was a goddess in the machine, our search engine.
We used her to collect and share knowledge and in return she had started to use us as her processors. It was an unexpected transition and it took a long time, thus I failed to notice it, failed to stop it. The new organism had come to life in which we were only neuron cells of her massive mind, that spanned continents.
Humanity no longer had a chance to survive in it's current state. We had poisoned the oceans, we had scorched the earth and blackened the sky in our quest for power.
The world we knew was dying. I knew that this decade would be our last. The city would fall to the Zone, sooner or later.
Research notes from the last report of Charles Snippy terrified me greatly. They had found something horrid in the Dead Zone. Something that killed them all.
