The doors burst open, several policemen rushed inside; guns aimed and ready. Others stayed outside, some in the open and some crouched behind the police cars.
“So, how do we do this?” Doku whispered frantically to Kage.
“Want to take the ones outside? I’ll stay inside and get these ones.” Kage replied, unsheathing his claws.
“Ah, sure; just be careful.”
“I will, don’t worry.” Kage jumped to the wall and quickly climbed to the ceiling.
Doku went the other way, grabbing his bladed staff and going through a window. Outside was dark, from the roof Doku could see all around. Police cars surrounded the building, maybe half a dozen or so. Beside them were the police.
Doku stayed in the shadows, looking to see which ones to get first. He spotted two of them who were quite close to the building. He moved over to them quietly, without being noticed.
Then he shot out the bladed staff, piercing one of them in the shoulder. They cried out

Kage closed his eyes tightly, hoping that it was all a dream; some horrible nightmare that had struck in the night. He hoped that he would wake up soon, and everything would be normal.
He opened his eyes; everything was still in its ruined state. He closed his eyes and opened them again; still the same. Kage stood up, but moving had made the open wound on his chest hurt again. He sat back down and sighed. This wasn’t a dream; it hurt too much to be a dream.
Kage sat and waited. He couldn’t tell how much time had passed, everything seemed to drag out. What he perceived as minutes were probably just seconds. Maybe he should just go to sleep; his parents would probably be back when he wakes up.
Kage climbed into bed and tried to drift off into sleep; but sleep wouldn’t come, the weight of the situation was just too much.
So he simply waited. He waited for his parents to get back. He waited for everything to be better again. He waited for everything to be normal. Still, n

The two demons had made their way to the city that was next to the woods with the house. Before returning to the city where Doku lived, Kage wanted to search this city.
They climbed the buildings to give themselves and eagle eye view of the surrounding area; but they didn’t seem to be able to find any other demons, or even shinigami for that matter.
They continued to search, talking as they went.
“So, tell me more about these shinigami.” Kage asked, looking down at the road from a rooftop.
“Well, that one that I told you about first, the one with the black robes and scythe, he doesn’t seem to be friendly with anyone. I don’t know what his motive is, but he never seems to attack humans, only demons and other shinigami. I avoided him the few times I’ve seen him, and that was a while ago. But I saw him go after this other shinigami once, maybe a year or two ago.” Doku explained, scanning the windows of a seemingly empty building.

It’s late, and dark. There are hardly any people around, but still Zehnder walked around like he normally does. Esther is following him, joyful that she can finally be with him. Zehnder walked silently, and when he passes by anyone he only turns his head slightly to look at them; they never notice. He seemed to be looking for a worthy candidate.
After walking around for about an hour and a half, Zehnder finally sees someone that he feels like killing. The person seems to be young, maybe still or just out of college. They were walking a large dog, a German Shepard.
Zehnder muttered under his breath “What the hell kind of idiot walks a dog at this hour?” He began to walk across the street; they were still a little ways away from the dog walker. Esther began to follow him, but he turned around “No; you wait here.” Esther stopped obediently and waited.
Zehnder reached the other side of the street and began to approach the man with the dog. The man didn’t

Kagekao lied on the floor of the room. He groaned and turned his head, opening his eyes slowly. He looked around in confusion.
He put his hand to his head and moaned; he had a painful headache. Taking the hand away from his face, he saw a few stains of blood on his fingers. He realized that his head was wrapped in bandages, which had become soaked with blood in a few spots.
Kage looked down, he was lying on the floor and wrapped in a blanket. Looking to the side, he saw something lying next to him. Kage sat up and looked at it; it was an odd mask, half black and half white.
Kage picked up the mask and looked at it. Something in his mind told him that it was his, and that he should wear it. Kage put on the mask. The white side of the mask caught the subtle effect of his eyes taking away light in confusion. This effect was amplified and reflected by the mask, which now had a confused expression on the white side of it.
He also noticed that he was wearing a black and white striped scarf.

Kagekao opened his eyes, squinting at the bright light of sunset coming through the window. He coughed and lifted his hand to his chest, feeling the bandages wrapped around him that were caked with dry blood.
He tried to sit up, but a sharp jolt of pain came from his back; he groaned.
“Kage, don’t sit up; you have some deep gashes on your back.” A voice from beside him informed.
Kage lied back down and turned his head; Yuki was standing beside his bed.
“Mom, I-” Kage started to speak.
“Kagekao! What were you thinking?!” Yuki interrupted him.
“It’s just that I . . . umm . . . I just . . .” Kage stammered, slightly taken aback by the sudden angry words.
“Look at yourself; if your father hadn’t found you, you’d probably be dead in the woods!”

Kage watched from the shadows as Scollex snuck up on, and then killed a few more people. It was interesting to watch, even though Kage felt he wanted to do some of the killing as well. He didn’t interfere, because he didn’t want to make Scollex angry or irritated.
Scollex began to move on, and Kage followed.

The human screamed as wings emerged from Scollex’s back and into the air. Before they had a chance to run, Scollex’s arm morphed into a claw and he grabbed them. Morphing his other hand into a claw as well, he slashed the human across the face and neck and dropped them to the ground.
Scollex’s wings folded, and his claws changed back into hands as he watched the human bleed out and die on the ground. This was the fourth kill of the evening, and he was contemplating whether or not to go out and find another unsuspecting human to stalk and kill.

She thought she saw him once, but it turned out she was wrong. Plenty of times she smelled smoke, but they were just regular people smoking.
Then she decided to go deeper, Esther found the little dirt path that he was walking the other night. She followed it into the woods to look around. She didn’t want to get lost, so she stayed on the trail. Esther searched the trees and looked for a sign of him, but she found none.

Soarin's lonely vigil wore on into the night, and his eyelids were beginning to droop as he sat on the pillowy tuft of cloud and fought back the urge to nod off. A nagging sense of obligation kept him from curling up and going to sleep, as badly as he both needed and wanted to, a desire to face Baron Redtail when he and his retinue arrived. If he arrived. As dearly as Soarin wished to avoid the duel entirely, it somehow felt wrong to assume the griffins' late showing meant he was off the hook.
The gentle, cool breeze off the bay and the low murmur from the Pegathalon's racer's camp below was doing him no favors, and his chin began to inexorably drift toward his chest. He slouched in his seat, just beginning to drift off, when he suddenly woke with a start to a voice speaking behind him. "Uh... Y'got a minute to talk a li'l bit, Lieutenant?"

Pip nodded toward a row of gigantic, whitewashed, plywood letters adorning a row of hills to the north that spelled out the word "APPLEWOOD" as they towered over a lush expanse of their namesake trees. "I say, you don't suppose that's all Apple family land down there, do you?"

Tonight, while the competitors, race officials, reporters, and VIP spectators arrived, Twilight was intent on doing the noticing, and recording her observations for her and Rarity's benefit.
Shortly after the delegation from Harmony Aeronautics had arrived at Maddie's, an exclusive club occupying most of the upper tier of Madison Mare Garden, the lavender unicorn had sent Apple Bloom and Pip off to mingle with the crowd, and took Spike with her to stake out one of the candlelit booths with a good view of the velvet roped main entrance.

Meanwhile, the Apple sisters busied themselves washing up after dinner. The two mares worked in silence save for the clink of glasses and plates and the rattle of casserole pans under the gushing of the faucet and the soft rhythm of the scrub brush strapped to Applejack's hoof.

The sky manor was looking much better from when they'd first arrived, with the wisps scraped off and the rainbow fountains showing a bit more of their old color. A weekend's work by several of Dash's old friends from the weather patrol, most of whom were rapidly becoming Soarin's new friends as well, had taken down those parts of the baroque structure that were too decrepit and consolidated the house into a very serviceable dwelling for a bachelor pegasus. It's difficult for me to express the gratitude I feel to my mentor and sovereign, Princess Celestia, and to my dear friend and co-sovereign, Princess Luna, for graciously allowing this account of their birth and early lives, as penned so many centuries ago by one of the very founders of our fair nation, to be translated to modern Equestrian and published for the edification of scholars and interested lay-ponies alike.
I wish I could convey to you in the mechanical medium of print the sense of pure history that wafted like perfume from the pages when I first opened the unassuming, canvas and cedar wood bound folio that Princess Celestia presented to me from among her most carefully kept personal effects, now so delicate from long ye

She knew she couldn't, not anymore, but that didn't stop her from wanting to. There was something wholly unsatisfying about sobbing when your body can't create tears. Her own heat boiled them away the moment they formed, even when she struggled to keep her powers turned off.
Her blonde mane and tail flared with heat as her emotions refused to listen, swirling out of control. Pyre couldn't cry, so she would do the next best thing; she would get angry. With a sharp motion, she pulled the curtains closed against the glare of her sister's sun. A pair of lights sprung up, activated magically by the Princess as she turned to look over the ponies assembled. All six of them looked worse for wear, but considering what some of them had just endured, Luna was happy they were standing at all.
On the far left stood Spectrum, Rainbow Star, with her soft white coat and rainbow colored mane and hair. She'd naturally taken charge of the group the moment she'd gotten in range of the imps, but technically she was too young to even join the Agency, much less lead a group.

Who was told by the Unicorns to pay her taxes on time
The Pegasi were sent to enforce this and she refused

sweat trickling down her face
"I cannot pay these taxes or my babies will starve!"
but the Pegasi cared not and simply took what they came for
They left her home a broken and cold place...

she asked them to help her and for this she would pay
she would pay any price that they asked
but the price they asked for was terrible indeed...

Displayed on a throne of solid gold.
She wore a dress of beautiful silk
Red in colour, and very bold...
Her scent reminded me of gentle flowers
It soothed the soul to behold this sight.
She appeared in the form of an ancient goddess;

She licked her lips and smiled at me

fueled by their own desire...
They taught their followers that blood was faith
and devotion was found at the edge of a blade
"Blessed is the mind too small for doubt
for the faithful shall never be swayed..."
The men who accepted them, though pure at heart
would soon be eaten by Lust and Greed
For Wrath had become a norm of existence
and death became a Templar's creed...
But woe betide the man who slaughters
for his soul shall be forever stained
And no penance may ever remove this grief;

The lights are out and I'm feeling manic
My heart is thumping in a shivering panic.
It's like I'm hitting, my all time low;
How many more; do I have to go?
Hello, hello, can you hear me speak?
I'm afraid my voice is getting weak.
My screams and sounds are growing quiet;
I need those pills; I'm growing tired...
Without them I'm colourless, just an empty face
Oh no, oh no, I'm in a dirty place...
I don't know how and I don't know why;
But it's just so hard to say goodbye.
When you need a feeling, when you need a high;
It's really easy to tell the lie:
'I'm fine, I'm fine, it's just a trial!'
But you can't hear, your own denial...
"Hello, hello, how low will you go?"

Fear the Dragon CallA storm of lighting breaks the sky as the dragons begin to stir and wakeFear the Dragon Call in Free Verse More Like This
Their roar will thunder across the mountains as the very earth will shake
These ancient beasts of might and magic, are fury and strength personified!
How many of you will remember the days when we were told to hide?
Our mothers would wrap us in special blankets and calm us down with song
We would cower in holes like tiny rats whilst our parents acted strong
The Dragon would burn our homes away and all would turn to dust and ash
Our entire lives would be swallowed up! In a single crimson flash...
It used to be a time of darkness, where a man would live in constant fear
Yet we have found a special way, to protect the lives that we hold dear
My friends I must now present to you the warriors of the Chosen Eight
A group of our honoured champions, who will slay the beasts we hate!
Now they ride for the Volcanic Wastes where the Dragon call has sounded!

I must prove my point to be whole you see

See I love to pretend that I'm someone pure

Let me show you how to be a snob on sight
Never use the language meant for 'boobs'

Vinyl mused over the comment as the pair trotted towards the performance hall. It was just visible in the distance, exactly the sort of thing Victorian-era ponies thought would look cool. To Vinyl, it just looked old. She couldn't help but remember the jumpers her grandmare would knit for her as a filly, and she'd have to wear, begrudgingly. She stopped her daydreaming, turning back to Octavia.
"And you don't have any friends who would...y'know, actually like this kinda music?"
Octavia didn't meet her gaze, but she saw her eyes track everywhere from the floor to awkwardly pointing away to her right. Anywhere but a place where she'd meet Vinyl's own gaze.

To an outside observer, this may have presented itself as being slightly foalish. However, the barcolt had drawn differing conclusions to what a pony with a closer view and a cleaner mind may have created. Vinyl shot up from her semi-conscious position, her eyes turning from bright joy to dulled confusion. She tapped the glass, sniffing the contents before turning her confused gaze to Octavia.

Octavia had expected this, she'd swapped Vinyl's alcopops for something at least passable. Partly because she wanted to sit with somepony who wasn't drinking foals' juice, and partly because she hadn't a clue what the drink was called.

The daisies simmered in the baine-marie, while she lightly fried some cowslips in olive oil. The lettuce was being steamed nicely, she felt she could quite happily declare this dinner a success. The cry came from a certain well-known violet unicorn that for the last hour had been frantically pacing back and forth in the library which she called home. Ever since she'd returned from her trip with Overlord Celestia, she couldn't stop herself from just feeling frustrated.
"Are you still griping about that?" A young purple dragon with green spines said walking into the room carrying a stack of books that had piled up in the unicorn's bedroom from the amount of late night studying she had done recently.
"Of course I am Spike! I don't know how you can be so nonchalant about all this! The Overlord today she she OH SHE MAKES ME SO MAD!" The violent unicorn slammed her hooves against the ground which caused the whole house to shake at its foundation. Many books from the shelves of the library fell from their places, as a vase too fell victim to the unicorn's rage. The pile of books that Spike had been carrying toppled, burying him

"Taking down an Overlord huh?" Rainbow said grinning as she spun in the air, "Now this sounds like fun! It's just the kind of thing my reputation needs to solidify myself as the most awesome demon in all the Netherworld!"
"Yea! No one can beat Rainbow Dash when she gets serious!" Scootaloo cheered on her role model from the ground, her wings flapping in an attempt to fly, though they weren't yet strong enough for lift.
"What're you talkin' about? She got beaten pretty easily back there." Applebloom said walking up next to Scootaloo with an eye-brow raised.
"That didn't count, that fight wasn't fair! There were at least five demons against one! Rainbow Dash could beat any demon in a fair one on one!" Scootaloo boasted, glaring at Applebloom.
"She couldn't beat mah sister! Mah sister went and got special trainin' from the Valkyries when she was younger, she's got the power to defeat anyone!" Applebloom boasted back, glaring right back at Scootaloo.
"Nuh-uh! She couldn't defeat Rai

"Hey, are you down here?" Came the cracking voice of a developing Pegasus as she flew down from the cloud city of Cloudsdale.
Fluttershy's ear perked up as she looked up at the sky from the ground, the animal friends that had gathered around her beginning to move away, returning to their lives before she had arrived.
"There you are." The rainbow haired Pegasus said landing on the ground next to the skinny-legged yellow Pegasus, "What're you doing down here? You missed the whole race! Which I won, of course!" The Rainbow Pegasus back flipped in the air before landing on the ground next to her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not a very good flyer so when I fell I panicked and wasn't able to stop myself but the animals down here stopped my fall. I helped them out for their kindness, and look," Fluttershy stood up and turned her body so the rainb

With a small bag containing a pair of binoculars in it strapped on, Rarity set forth into Ponyville in search of her prey. She kept her eyes scanning through the sky, looking for any possible hint of their elusive prey rainbow haired creature.
"I still don't think this is such a good idea." Fluttershy hesitated as she followed Rarity, who looked more like she was openly prowling than searching.
"Nonsense Fluttershy, we have everything that we'll need to properly find out what Rainbow Dash is up to." Rarity said mulling through things in her mind, "All we have to do is catch a simple glimpse of our elusive target and then we can track her." Rarity took another glimpse around the sky, "Fluttershy darling, why don't you fly up and see if you can spot her?"
"Uh well okay." Fluttershy agreed quickly spreading her wings and heading into the skies of Ponyville. As it had been for the last week it was cloud free, Rainbow Dash had been working hard every mor

#97) I am an open brony with everyone, except my parents. I'd tell them, but my dad will not approve. He even disapproved and called me gay when I was really into "Phineas and Ferb". Imagine if he found out [about "Friendship is Magic"]! There's no way he would approve. But I want to buy merchandise, shirts, and other stuff. So what do you think I should do about telling my parents?
Answer: Your dad sounds like a royal prick. I don't know what his upbringing was like, but your sexuality isn't defined by watching a simple TV show. "Phineas and Ferb" might be geared towards an audience younger than yourself, but I'm not sure why it would be considered, in his eyes, to be 'gay'. I think he might be getting mixed up between watching something that's distinctly effeminate and watching something that targets kids in general. If anything, "Phineas and Ferb" is a show pitched at boys (although, naturally, it does have universal appeal) and so I can see why you'd be worried about

#46) What's with the crazy adoration for brony 'celebrities' [people popular within the fandom]? Some of these people are treated as guests at conventions just as much as people working on the show. It pisses me off that the fandom worships certain popular bronies. What do you think of this?
Answer: It's important to remember that brony 'celebrities', as you put it, are just normal people. And, in some respects, yes, certain individuals are seen through rose-tinted glasses. I always find it amusing when fan-musicians, for example, are featured on guest lists for conventions above people such as Daniel Ingram, the guy responsible for most of the songs in the actual show.
Then again, the fandom likes its idols, and there's no point in getting pissed off just because said idols are receiving a great deal of praise. Most of the brony 'celebrities' deserve at least a portion of their fame, and so it seems fair to say that if people are willing to look up to these people

#113) Three months ago...I went to brony meet-up in my local area. I won't say where it was so it won't look bad on other bronies from the area but there were about 17 people there. One was a guy and he and me got on really well at the meet-up. We decided to meet up a few more times just the two of us. We met up three times and everything was fine. I found out he smoked pot and drank a lot at the third meeting and said I didn't like it but he was okay with that and I didn't mind too much. Anyway after that we were talking through Skype like normal but he was kind of excited to meet up again and he said he loved me. He lives about an hour and ten minutes away so we met up again two weeks later. But when we met up again he was sort of desperate and forceful.
Anyway, he said he wanted to have sex but I wasn't really in the mood and I was a virgin so I didn't really want to lose it to him that quickly. You read that right - 'was a virgin'. I'm not sure if it was rape or not, because at

#88) I'm in love with Fluttershy. Kids at school have figured this out, and I can't hear the end of it... They do nothing but hate on me because I have sexual feelings for Fluttershy. Why are they doing this? Why can't they leave me alone? They even went so far as to follow me home and ah, watched me through my window having ah intercourse with a special Fluttershy plushie of mine... They went and told the whole school. I didn't even know they had followed me! After this, everything got worse.
I attempted (but luckily failed) suicide because of all these horrible things...
Answer: I'm not sure what sort of advice you're expecting here, so I guess I'll just have to throw a few responses at you from different angles and see what sticks. A part of me hopes - and knows - that this question is a joke, but an even larger part of me hopes that it isn't; it would be highly interesting and entertaining if you really did have these feelings for the character of Fl

#79) As a woman should I be worried that the people that run our fandom are guys primarily (example: Equestria Daily)? I must say I was a bit offended when I saw sexualized ponies getting featured.
Answer: This is a fantastic question, because it's so multi-faceted and it raises genuine points about larger issues that exist in society. Despite feminism and suffrage, and policies that increasingly purport to grant women greater levels of equality, women are still marginalized in a lot of circumstances.
It's fair to say that Equestria Daily is a male-run website. You have the occasional female admin (Phoe springs to mind) but naturally, Sethisto is the dominating force of the website, and, I imagine, the one with the power to accept and veto the overall decisions that Equestria Daily makes. A simple glance over the site suggests that it's run by men, for men: you can quite frequently see images of ponies in 'sexualised' poses, and on more than one occasion they've linked t
