A healthy little boy.
Small and mewling,
Crying for his dying mother.
A new life starts

A new Skywalker

I feel him so strong
So alive in the force.
A lot like his father,
A Skywalker in my arms.

Don't think about her anymore.
She's dead in her grave,

Leave the past to burn to ashes.
And the ghosts of Naboo to vanish.
Failure will only kill you again.

I grip him tighter, then let go so we can look at each other eye to eye.
"What if the dreams are real? What if you die out there?" I whimper with worry.
He smiles and laughs softly.
"That's not going to happen, Padmé. I'm so sure of it. Your dreams are just your imagination playing tricks on you."

The pain of many younglings
The torn heart of a mother
Unable to hear her crying mewling babies.
Unable to save them.
From that monster.
That monster whose name is Darth Vader.
Thou art not human.
Not man of flesh or born of woman,
A mixture of mechanics,
Technology and dark magic,
Born from the ashes
Of a once great chosen one.
His mind is ticking,
Whirling like C3PO,
But in a place where gold has no path to tread.
She knew! She knew!
The good deep inside.
She would surrender to him.
Her life was over!
The heartless monster left in his place,
How was a broken snow white queen able to fight him?
So she waits on the other side,
Knowing Vader will breathe on.
But when Luke is ready...
Anakin will pull through.

Ignore your dreams
As they make you
Do the wrong thing.
Focus on her,
Focus on them,
Focus of reality

There's no denying,
Inside you were dying,
And you killed her
Just for the sake of it.

Even though I can't

The cybernetic dark jedi turned his deathly mask towards her, his voice an electronic crackle that sent shivers down Aira-ty's spine.
“You are lying Commandant.”

She was looking for two fighters in particular. The Karakum Basin Proving Grounds were located over two hundred kilometres east of Galatean City, and were one of several areas where mercenaries could go to test weapons and-or engage in wargames and military exercises. A unit had to book in advance (or have connections to get a slot at the last minute) and of course there were the inevitable fees, but most mercs found the cost to be more than worth it. There's only so much you can do in a simulator. There's no substitute for the real world.
Alexandra was still looking for a contract, so she decided to make the most of things and reserved time at the base so her unit could get some practical experience working together. The fact that it would be a chance at desert warfare was a bonus since no-one in the group had done it before. Everyone's BattleMechs had been repainted in desert camouflage and they'd attended a Karakum Base lecture on

Sir Henry Albern was frankly amazed at the speed which things progressed. Lady Alexandra contacted him that Saturday morning and told him she accepted the contract, provided a few articles were adjusted. He met with her later in the morning in her suite and agreed to increases in compensation. This meant one hundred percent for straight support costs instead of sixty, and fifty percent for battle loss compensation instead of twenty. He'd had instructions not to haggle much with any mercenary unit unless their demands were ridiculous.
From her suite they made their way to Galatean City's Hiring Hall where the updated garrison contract was readjusted and then signed by both parties. It was ratified and witnessed by ComStar's Mercenary Review Board, making it fully legal and binding. Every member of the Fighting Fusiliers was tremendously excited. There was no question that it had been a bomb. Fusion engines simply don't blow themselves to bits for no reason. The Innsbruck Militia was supposed to be on an increased state of alert because of the new war with the Draconis Combine, but Colonel Phillips and Duke Sheridan had far more important matters to deal with; namely getting their newly-acquired BattleMechs repaired and finding or training MechWarriors to pilot them. The war was regarded as something happening far away and of no concern to the citizens of Kolovraty. The only Jedi she did find were dead, of course. She came across eight that she was barely acquainted with, and judging from how they had fallen they must have been attempting to destroy the archives rather than let them fall into the hands of the Sith. She rolled once and sprung to her feet while drawing a green-bladed lightsaber. A flash of confused recognition went through the back of the Clone's mind, but his instinct beat it back down. Good soldiers followed orders. He backed away and crouched behind some rubble, pelting the Togruta with shot after shot, and signaled for the rest of his squad to open fire. Just as he'd planned, she was caught in a crossfire - even a Jedi couldn't fight that.
Or so he had thought. A bolt skimmed across her right thigh, prompting a hiss of pain, but as she reached her free hand out a silver blur shot out of a bag lying on the floor. As it landed in her hand a snap-hiss was almost drowned out by the whine of a dozen deecee fifteens. Now armed with two sabers

“This is Barriss Offee, can anyone hear me?” Static was the only reply from the comm unit. Barriss could see the medical station rapidly growing larger through the frost-covered viewport. It was so cold she could barely operate the controls. “I’m shutting down the engines, I’ll try to reroute the-” Barriss sensed danger and dove out of the pilot chair as a searing green light arced through the space her head had been, slicing through the control panel instead.
As alarms began blaring in the bridge, Barriss spun around and ignited her lightsaber just in time to block her assailant’s next attack. Ahsoka Tano stood before her, blank eyed and covered in frost, a savage scowl on her face. Barriss easily parried her possessed friend’s attacks, the creature controlling her had none of the young Jedi’s skill, wielding the lightsaber like a cl

Ahsoka Tano had always considered hyperspace to be strangely beautiful. The swirling blue tunnel of light was like something out of a dream. It made her head hurt if she looked at it too long though, so she kept her eyes on the instrument panel in front of her. There was no where else to look in the cramped cockpit of the surplus Y-Wing fighter she piloted. Ahsoka checked the chronometer; they would be coming out of hyperspace soon. She opened the comm to the gunner position behind her.
“Hey Ventress, we’re almost there, wake up.” A groan and what sounded like a muffled promise of death was the only response she got. Ahsoka shook her head. If someone had told her four months ago that she’d be flying a ship through Unknown Space with Asajj Ventress of all people, she would have been very skeptical.

She groaned angrily in the darkness of her hideout in the Coruscant slums. For once, Asajj had been having a good dream, one about those few years she’d been happy by the side of her rogue Jedi master. Whoever had interrupted it better have something damned important to say. Asajj picked up the comm and saw there was no caller ID, whoever this was had their signal masked. I don’t like mysteries, she thought, pressing the button to respond.
“What,” she hissed. “Who the hell is this?!”
At first all she could hear was the static of wind noise, then a panicked voice full of relief answered.

Ahsoka Tano had always dreaded meditation. She had only done it when Anakin made her, which had usually been when other Jedi were around. Her old master had a similar attitude towards the practice, he only did it when Obi-Wan made him. She always wanted to do something, something that would actually be useful. Who had time to meditate in a war? Meditation was for Masters, it was nothing but punishment for Padawans. Losing your attachments to the world, being immersed in the light of the Force, it all sounded great in theory. In practice, more often than not she found herself trying not to think about how much she needed to use the ‘fresher.
Ahsoka opened her eyes with an impatient groan. It looked like she had lost that particular battle again. I'

Ahsoka hadn’t realized until that moment just how incomplete she had felt ever since her first lightsaber disappeared into the depths of Coruscant. Even if she hadn’t lost it and her shoto, the Jedi wouldn’t have let her keep it when she left the Order. Between Barriss, the Council, and Anakin she

Ahsoka had felt disturbances in the Force before, she’d felt darkness, evil even. But none of it compared to the blast of utter dread that hit her then. There were a thousand voices screaming inside her head, voices full of pain, fear, anger, hatred. "Geez Sky I've never seen you this nervous before!" Bodil observes.
"You shouldn't blame him Bodil; I mean practically the entire city is after him. Exeunt has all of his guards on high alert looking for him!" Sundee explains.

Sky felt bad for him but at the same time he kind of wanted to laugh. Bodil looked more serious than ever before.
"Why so serious Bodil?" Sky questions.
"I have to be serious. If I'm not then he'll punish me. He doesn't like to hear my laugh when he's in a bad mood."
Sky looks concernedly at Bodil. Dawn reassures Sky it's going to be okay right before she goes and changes into her maid outfit. Sky found that the outfit was a bit showy. 'Or maybe that's the point, maybe he wants to see Dawn like that!' He thinks slamming his fist onto the table

Sky, Jason and Deadlox travel back down the old path. Soon enough they see the city over the horizon.
"Here it is, the place is really run down now," Sky points out. He was right; all the buildings of the city had vines growing on them. Plants were growing out of control and the roots from the trees had ruined all the roads. The buildings themselves were still intact, but any metal was now rusted. After a bit of sightseeing they decide it's time to leave.
Exeunt flashes into his mind. The man had somehow survived the shot to the head and was now in a coma. Sky would check at the hospital to see if he was awake almost every week. It wasn't because he cared about him it's that he wanted to see if he had learned his lesson. However his coma still remained and the doctors say there was a possibility he wouldn't wake up for years.
Sky suddenly hears a hissing noise behind him. He turns around and sees that Deadlox had filled the city up with Dynamite and he had just set it off.

John had almost convinced Sherlock to accept one of the chocolate biscuits when his mobile began buzzing on the table before them. Sherlock sat back with a disgusted-yet-interested glance, and John mourned the headway he'd made with getting Sherlock to eat. He picked up the phone and accepted the call without seeing the number.
"John, it's Sarah. How are you?"
John noted with interest that Sherlock's frown dug deeper. "Getting on. You?"
"I barely have time to turn around," Sarah replied breathlessly. "Look, I could really use you as a stand-in today. I'm down two physicians and it's Saturday and it's a circus here. More than happy to cut you a check for your time if you could come down for the day."
"The day?" John hesitated, giving Sherlock a once-over. He wasn't surprised to see anticipation lit in the silvered eyes. "Yes, alright."

A trickle of blood blinds his left eye. He can taste it. Bitter.

It's quiet, yet he can still hear the shells exploding, the ringing and horns and can't tell if he's breathing-

Without the element of shock (and the absence of a pounding headache), waking next to Sherlock wasn't nearly as odd as John worried it might be. Even in sleep, even splayed awkwardly on his stomach, Sherlock kept to his side of the bed, leaving a healthy distance between them. John was grateful for that, though the moment he recognized the space he wanted to reach over it. It seemed peculiar, in a way he couldn't think to describe.
Sherlock's face was mostly hidden by the pillow, a single flared nostril allowing him to breathe noisily. The black curls were frizzed and bent at every angle, giving the genius a decidedly rumpled look which John thoroughly approved of. And when the eye slitted and Sherlock rumbled, "Good morning, John," in a rare husky voice, well, it was so normal John was overwhelmed by the sensation.

It took several moments before John even considered letting go; he was frightened by the what ifs, relieved that Sherlock was unharmed, and awed that Sherlock allowed him of all people to be this close. Besides, Sherlock was warm and oddly comfortable, even with his bony angles and tight clothes; and Sherlock was still stroking his back with those impossibly long fingers, tracing unknown patterns down his spine, and that felt really good.
Finally John raised his head, tilting it back just enough to peep at one of Sherlock's eyes.
"You need to eat."
"Oh, not this again," Sherlock sighed dramatically.
"Now look, I'm exhausted," John chided, resting back in Sherlock's lap, his arms still lazily wound around his neck. "Barely slept last night- your fault, too, I was worried sick- and I put in a full day at the clinic and then I had to suffer Mycrof

Sleeping With Sherlock - Part 1
John Watson was not a morning person; and the migraine pressing on the back of his eyes promised to make this one rougher than usual. Fortunately he'd remembered to pull the drapes last night before collapsing into bed, so the sun couldn't greet him with piercing needlepoints of light.
He laid there for a moment, keeping his breathing slow and relaxed as his head throbbed with the barest of movements. He'd have to down an Imitrex or two; sooner rather than later, if eating breakfast and hydrating didn't work. The medication made him feel strange, in a way he didn't care for at all, but it was the only thing that relieved his powerful headaches.
With that tentative schedule planned, he next concentrated on getting himself from the bed to the sitting room- a considerable feat, as the stairs were a part of that path. He allowed himself a soft grunt of pain as he cracked his eyelids open, his hands unfisting from the sheets.

Grabbing a cab from their flat wasn't usually difficult; Baker Street was a busy one, a prime side-outlet of some of the major roads that crisscrossed London.
However, the second empty cab passed by him as he yelled and waved his arms changed his anger into a pensive anxiety.
And when the sleek black car pulled up beside him, he threw his hands in the air and let loose a string of curses. He opened the door so he could direct his tirade at whoever was inside.
"I've somewhere to be, Mycroft!" Mycroft wasn't there, of course, but the pretty woman texting could send on the message. "I don't have time for one of your dramatic little abductions, I've got to-,"

Sherlock slept restlessly, rolling about his side of the bed and even occasionally muttering nonsensical words. John dozed for only minutes at a time when Sherlock was more calm, studying his friend closely for most of the night.
Sherlock had insinuated he was partly responsible for him being in this state; but that couldn't be true, could it? John had left the flat many times before when Sherlock was in a fit of pique; what made yesterday so special that he'd resort to this?
What an odd term to use. John still felt miffed about being labeled as such. Technically, he was Sherlock's flatmate. Realistically, he was much more- but a toy he was not. He hadn't put up with the brusque manners and sometimes revolting habits just to be entertainment.

By the time John reached the sitting room- each stair step had to be taken one at a time, god it was so frustrating- the smell of toast and tea had filled the air, and his stomach couldn't decide if that was a good or bad thing.
And Sherlock was just sitting there, normal as you please, staring intently into his microscope on the kitchen table, a piece of toast cooling beside him.
Figuring the tea would offend his body the least, John carefully poured himself a cup and made his way to his favourite chair by the fireplace. It had molded over the last year to his backside, and he settled comfortably with a grateful sigh.
But the silence wasn't their normal I've just woken up, bugger off quiet; there was a thread of tension hanging in the air that was unusual unless one of them was in a fit. John had just mustered the courage to speak up- whisper, at least- when the toast was thrust into his vision. He recoil

When John woke, the dimness of the flat and the overall stiffness of his body told him it had already reached afternoon. He clumsily reached for the lamp nearby, pleased when the burst of light caused minimal reflexive pain behind his eyes. Even if his vision swam a bit and he felt like he could float out of the chair, they were much preferable sensations to the migraine.
Next he tilted his head, listening to the faint traffic outside the twin windows. The flat was quiet, the only noises reaching his ears coming from beyond the walls. Somewhat odd; Sherlock rarely ventured out on his own anymore.
With a sigh that melted into a groan, he unfurled his legs and shakily stood. "Sherlock?"
Light footsteps resounded out the half-open door, and John frowned as Mrs. Hudson bustled in.
"Oh dearie, Sherlock told me about your migraine," she said sweetly in her gentle way. "I popped in an hour ago, you were still napping."

He took a deep breath and shifted, prepared to sit up, but the hand massaging his scalp felt too damn good to move just yet.
"I've been thinking." Sherlock's voice was entirely too alert.
"Not surprising," John yawned. "Been up all night?"

Several hours later, I still contemplated these words on the bridge, watching from afar as Khan, Jaken, Blondie and a few other officers scrutinized a glowing blue holographic map. I wasn't really paying attention though, the wild pulsing of my heart drowning out even Khan's deep, velvety voice. I now knew why I had been blindfolded when first marched aboard the Vengeance.
I had only seen a glimpse of it, as Khan was careful to sling a muscular arm around my shoulders and whirl me back around to continue our walk the other way we'd came, back down the hangar and to the staircase. Yet I had seen it all the same, and clung to that fleeting image like a life preserver of old, the only physical hope I had of now, my only tangible plan of escape.
At the end of the impossibly long hangar, there had been a doorless room, a tiny communication base of sorts, and I had felt a rush of overwhelming joy when I caught a glimpse of what was in there. It was just a glimpse, impossibly fast, but I had

I should've felt more insightful now, as to who Khan Noonien Singh really was after he'd shown me SO many new sides of himself today, but the truth was, I was more confused than ever. One minute he's hissing about spilling blood, and the absolute joys of murde

I stood there, heart pounding, breath quickened, alone on the darkened bridge with Khan, his eyes closed, my head careening from all that he had said. He'd made it so easy for me to walk away, or so he thought, and I'm sure any other Starfleet Cadet wouldn't have had to think twice. But if I learned anything at Starfleet, it was that I was no ordinary cadet. The longer I waited, the more worried he became, scrunching up his nose with his next breath. For the first time, since I'd met him, Khan was afraid.
I walked towards him with slow, careful steps, and I could tell his mind was quick at work, trying to tell if these steps moved away from him or to him. What was I doing? Here was my perfect chance to get the coordinates, just by lifting a finger to the Navigation Screen. From there all I had to do was rush down to the hangar, take the beacon in my hands, and with quick fingers, declare my freedom. I took more steps forward. Yes, that was what I should have done, what I'd longed to do

I must have leapt nearly three feet in the air, at the sound of Khan's voice coming from behind me. BUSTED. "Nothing, just admiring the sophistication and advanced technology used to create the- the-" My voice was several octaves too high, much too fast, giggling to cover up my guilt, and I whirled around to face him, losing all manner of speech, as he flooded my vision, forgetting entirely what I was going to say.
"Thank you. I did design them myself." He grinned brilliantly, showing off those perfectly white teeth, and I stumbled, grabbing the side of the desk for support. Holy. Lord. I felt sure I was going to faint. I knew it. Khan wasn't real. He couldn't be. I decided then and there that he must be a beautiful delusion, part of a reoccurring dream that I kept having. Was I in a coma somewhere, in some Starship Med Bay, suffering from heat stroke, and this was ALL in my mind!?!? Oh GOD, if so, PLEASE don't wake me up!!! My mind pleaded, my heart pounding. Nobody could personify th

The explosion shot violently across the scorching desert sky in fiery plumes, the image searing my eyes, and resounding in my afflicted mind. The deafening roar, the horrified, confused screams, the prolonged groan of mangled titanium making swift impact with the dunes, burning sand raining down, all of it culminating in such a symphony of sorrow, causing me to shake. The speeding starship, ablaze, screaming at breakneck speed towards its doom, desecrated, getting torn to silver shreds. There's a faint sound of shattering glass accompanying the more painful roars as an officer is thrown through the bridge window, dropping hard into the swirling sands, already dead. There's nothing left to identify the ill-fated vessel now, save for some badly burned off lettering, and I can only make out a barely intelligible, "VAL."
I felt my body toss and turn, shaking violently now. The ship ceased its groaning, dead. The screams felt louder and louder until they consumed my entire conscious. Starfl

My heart pounded violently, in a mad rush to escape my chest. Khan's dark velvet voice sounded far away as if commanding me from a great distance, and I struggled to make sense of any of it. I was baffled by these two words that simply couldn't belong together. I felt my breath quickening as I stared up at him from my place on the bench that had been moved to the middle of the Vengeance's hangar. I looked around at the six black mats that had also been placed there, two rows of three, and shook my head vehemently. He couldn't be serious.
"NO!!!! No, absolutely NOT!! I- I can't!!!"
My protest was pleading, yet stubborn and I crossed my arms over my chest to prove my resolve. What Khan was asking, was the impossible. I felt my mind instantly torn between the natural impulse to do exactly what he wanted of me, and the obvious conclusion that this was NOT something I could physically bring myself to do. The very reason, the very whim, that created the need in me to obey him, w
Just Like Old TimesAhsoka lay awake in bed, Rex beside her, fast asleep. It was early, & though she knew she should be sleeping, she liked being awake when he wasn't. The sound of his steady breathing was comforting. She leaned over & checked the alarm clock. 5:30, Ahsoka thought, Guess I better get up & get ready. Ahsoka kissed Rex gently on the forehead, then walked into the bathroom & turned the shower on. As she slipped out of her jumpsuit & stepped in, she heard a creak as the bed strained underneath the weight of Rex pushing on it. That was fast, she thought.Just Like Old Times in Short Stories More Like This
"Morning, sleepyhead." she called into the bedroom. Rex yawned & said, "You're up early." "I just thought I'd get ready for today", Ahsoka said, "Can't start too early, you know?" "Ahsoka..." Rex started. "What?" she asked. "What is it?" "When are you going to quit your job at that greasy run down hovel of a diner & come back to the Jedi? Everyone's worried sick about you...General Skywalker, General Koon...And especially me." Ahso
The ArrestBlinking awake, I sat up groggily as a loud pounding sounded at the door of the hotel room. "Samuel Allen!" a voice called in. "This is Detective Stone! You're under arrest for the crimes of manslaughter & kidnapping! Come out with your hands up!" Jumping out of the bed, I whipped my pistol out of its hiding place in my bag, crouching behind a heavy dresser. "Sam, what's going on?" Alex asked fearfully as she slipped slowly & quietly out of the bed. "It's the cops", I muttered, "I've been framed for killing Brad & kidnapping you." Several shots rang out, shattering the window. I ducked as bits of razor-sharp glass rained down on my cover. "Alex, no matter what happens in the next few minutes, I need you to do anything & everything I say." I growled. Ducking & covering her head as more gunshots rang out, she said, "I'm all ears."The Arrest in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

The New ThreatA deafening blast echoed through the woods as a shell erupted from the barrel of a shotgun. I dived & rolled to the side as a young tree toppled to the ground behind me. I looked up at the man holding the weapon, an enormous, tattooed thug. I glared at him, then took off running again. "Can't run forever, M-18", he shouted hoarsely, pumping the gun, "I'll kill your ass for what you did to Duke!" Darting behind a tree, I crouched down, making myself as small as possible & ripped a knife out of a sheath on my ankle. Flinging myself back behind the tree, I watched as the man stepped into the clearing. Just a little closer...I thought. Then, the moment I was waiting for came. Good Fortune"Wake up", a voice urged me as I slept, "Wake up!" I jolted awake as the whispered shout rang in my ears. A guard kneeled beside me, holding a lantern to my face. Shielding my eyes, I whispered, "What do you want?" "M-18?" "What's it to you?" The guard straightened up & said, "Come with me." Rubbing my eyes, I saw dying light streaming in from the upper levels. Must be the same day, but later, I thought. Pulling myself slowly out of the ragged bed, I followed the guard to the door of the cell, where he pulled a pair of handcuffs from his belt & slapped them on my wrists. I allowed him to do this without an argument, my mind far away, lost in thought. If it was this late in the day, why take me out now? I usually worked mornings, so why had no one woken me up? Before I could come up with an answer, I heard a clanking sound as the rusty cell door unlocked. The guard tugged on the rope now fastened around the chain binding the handcuffs, and I wordlessly followed him out. As I walked throGood Fortune in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
The Auction"Everyone up!" The rousing call from the guard pulled me back from my deep slumber & my eyes snapped open. Quickly scrambling out of my bed, I rushed to where my other cellmates stood lined up for morning roll call. "M-6!" the guard shouted, standing on the other side of the iron bars with a clipboard. "Present & accounted for." Brad answered back. Brad had been one of my closest friends before we had come to this place, & he was one of my few remaining friends still here. "M-7!" the guard called loudly. With his one good eye, he looked down the row until he came to the blank spot where Elijah stood for role call. "That's right, we sold him yesterday." he said, chuckling. Don't Blame YourselfStaring out the window at the passing landscape, my hand instinctively shot down to my backpack & wrapped around the hidden pistol inside as a hand wrapped around my arm. "Sam, how much longer are we going to be on the run like this?" Alex asked. "As long as it takes until I know for certain we're safe again." I replied. Nodding, I rubbed my eyes as she dozed off & turned my attention to the window once again.
"Alex...Alex." I said, gently shaking her awake. "Mm...What?" she asked. "We're at the next town." Jumping to her feet, she slung her backpack over
'The Escape': Alternate EndingRaising my shotgun, I lined up Duke in my sights & fired. The shot tore through his arm & he went down screaming. Pumping the gun, I placed the cold metal barrel on his forehead. "Lights out, you son of a bitch." I said. My finger tensed on the trigger & the shotgun clattered out of my hand as a deafening blast filled my ears. I flew back, slamming hard against the concrete floor, an intense pain rushing through my chest & stomach. I reached down to my midsection...And pulled back a hand covered in blood! The cold, hard metallic crunch of a gun pumping turned my attention to where Duke was limping slowly towards me, shotgun held in his remaining good arm. "Good attempt, M-18", he said smugly, leveling the barrel at my forehead, "But not good enough. John Duke will never be defeated by the likes of you." A blast of blood erupted from the right side of Duke's head, splattering against a wall beside him.
