Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.Nintendo STEALS Money! in Personal More Like This
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Nintendo. STOP BEING AWESOME. STOP IT!
Miyamoto said once that he wanted to remake A Link to the Past for the 3DS. Now it looks like this is the genesis of that idea. Of course being Miyamoto just a simple remake isn't good enough, it's got to include all new dungeons and gameplay mechanics while staying true to the tried and true top down gameplay. Any new handheld Zelda game that ditches the bullshit touch control system to move is a great idea in my books, but doing it with one of my absolute favorite Zelda games of all time? Nintendo, I love you.
Hypothetical question: Since this game takes place in the same universe as A Link to the Past, features locations from that game, and now that the game engine is made... couldn't they just release the remake to A Link to the Past as well? I mean, don't get me wrong as a Ni

Well, technically it will be... except that only ONE character will be free and all the rest you have to pay for. Wow... way to be a douche, Microsoft. Free to play gaming works on handhelds and casual games, but I don't really think it's appropriate to do it to a console fighting game. Part of the fighting game experience is trying out various players and getting to know which character you identify best at playing with, with additional characters on the side as bonuses to unlock. Locking ALL the characters up from the start and making you pay for them individually? Kinda shitty move, dude. Imagine if Smash Bros did that...ugh.
The PS4 will be $400, undercutting the XboxOne's price point of $500. Even if Sony takes a loss on that, it was a very good move on their part, though still hella expensive.

So, like many, I think the Nintendo 2DS is pretty stupid. But where others go on to criticize Nintendo and screaming bloody murder, I chose to just let it slide because the Nintendo 2DS isn't meant for me so I don't really care one way or the other.
See this is the problem I see with people who bitch and moan about Nintendo. They treat every single announcement like it somehow personally affects them, when usually it's an OPTIONAL thing they don't have to even deal with. Remember during the casual vs hardcore wars of the Wii era and people decrying Nintendo for adding the option to let Luigi play a level of NSMBWii if you failed too many times? Brilliant idea that ensures that players that work at it succeed and never see the option, and players that are duly frustrated after dying X number of times are allowed to still proceed but at a cost. But nope, that announcement was treated a

So famed Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki announced recently that he's retiring from Studio Ghibli and from making movies. Everyone is, naturally, sad to see him go and bemoaning his departure... except me. Cuz I've been here before. He's announced his retirement so many times in the past that it has no meaning to me anymore. I remember when he announced his retirement back in 1998, over 12 years ago. Every time he says he's retiring he inevitably comes back in some capacity. I don't know if he truly means it this time, but I'm not holding my breath.

Wii U Launch TitlesRemember when the Wii launched in 2006 with just a gamecube port of Zelda, a horribly broken Red Steel, and a handful of party games? That's not gonna happen with the Wii U. Along with the recent announcement of Bayonetta 2 being a Wii U exclusive title, Nintendo has just announced that there will be a staggering 23 games available on launch day. The Derpy Issue Part 4 (final)Alright, so now we get to the crux of the matter. Hasbro has finally made a statement:The Derpy Issue Part 4 (final) in Personal More Like This
"The 'My Little Pony Friendship is Magic' series has always been about acceptance and inclusion, and the series strives to convey that through the playful antics of a diverse cast of characters. Some viewers felt that aspects of the episode 'The Last Roundup' did not stay true to the core message of friendship which is the heart and soul of the series. Hasbro Studios decided to make slight audio alterations to this single episode."
NOW would be the appropriate time to start getting all freaked out over this issue. Personally, I am not going to worry too much. I am disheartened that they've chosen to respond this way, but I am not surprised. Hasbro is a corporation, they have to think of their image. "Derpy" is a debatable term that can either mean "goofy and silly" or "insulting towards disabled people" and frankly I agree that this is not an appropriate word to be used for a kids TV show
Wii-U speculation updatedI posted my last journal about Wii-U speculation over on ScrewAttack.com's website just for a lark. I haven't used the blog feature there in almost 2 years and since the new redesign all my old blogs were deleted anyway. Imagine my surprise then when I woke up this morning to find that my blog had been promoted to "community spotlight" (meaning it's on the frontpage) and that there are generally intelligent and thoughtful discussions going on as a result (some including responses by Metal Gear Ben!).Wii-U speculation updated in Personal More Like This
I gotta admit... I didn't expect that at all!
Since then though a lot of new information has come my way about the Wii-U, a lot of it confirming some of my speculations. One really great source of info this a YouTuber by the name of Shokio. He is currently doing a series of videos (like right now a new one is coming out every day) talking about all things Wii-U related from the technical specs, to the controller, to the impact it will have etc. He's a really great source and aside from a t
Derpy Hooves vs HasbroSo it has come to my attention that recently Hasbro has (possibly?) ordered a cease and desist letter to WeLoveFine.com for selling Derpy Hooves related T-shirts. This, coupled with the mysterious disappearance of the episode "The Last Roundup" (which is the one where Derpy talks) from iTunes has gotten fans freaked out and panicky. The general belief is that Hasbro wants to stop the cannoning of internet named Derpy from the MLP series due to the backlash of people getting angry for them for doing so in the first place. Petitions are going up ( http://www.change.org/petitions/hasbro-studiosthe-hub-do-not-change-derpys-name ) and blogs are being posted and everyone's going nuts over this.Derpy Hooves vs Hasbro in Personal More Like This
Here's my two cents:
From browsing around WeLoveFine.com I could see a number of deviantart images being used for T-shirts. Specifically My Little Pony related. Now It's very unlikely that the artists or the website got permission to sell these T-shirts, and whether you like it or not, selling merchan
Being Critical =/= HateLooks like I need to remind people about this again, as yesterday I got several comments in a row from people who assumed that me being critical about something automatically translated into me outright hating it. I don't know how to stress this enough but that's not the case... You can be critical of stuff you like and not hate it. I don't know why our culture tries so hard to force everything into such black and white terms but come on guys, really... being critical and smart about what you love doesn't mean you hate it.Being Critical =/= Hate in Personal More Like This
Take the Dragon's Crown comic, for example, in which I was critical of the Sorceress's design. From that someone hypothesized that I must HATE the game, and that's farthest from the truth. I know full well that Vanillaware is an amazing studio and they do fantastic work. One of my favorite games of theirs is Muramasa the Demon Blade. Dragon's Crown has scored really highly and it's most definitely worth your money to buy/download it if you can. BUT... I can still be

Yea I hate to really go on a rant, but I kinda got a bit peeved off today by some dude's comment in school. Over in my language arts class, some numb nuts peeped over to see what I was doodling. I was doodling Rainbow Dash in some action poses then the bro says "what's up with that guy's hair?" Of course I know that he gets weirded out by rainbow hair, but he called her a guy. I asked why he thought it was a guy and he asked "where are her boobs, yo?" and they were in plain sight, I pointed them out for the guy and then he said "ey they oughta be a bit bigger, yo. She looks like a dyke." I knew I couldn't win with this guy and sure Rainbow Dash is a tomboy, but what the heck man? "MAKE HER BOOBS BIGGER??" Well crucify me for focusing on her character on not making her into an anime big-breasted, short-shorts wearing, little Mary Sue showing off her legs to the world with a bandage on her friggin knee. While I will not spoil anything, just the fact that Applejack really puts what's important in the end before anything else is very very nice ^^ She isn't over the top, yet she is very didactic. She is subtle and kind, but knows when to put her hoof down. MAN, I JUST LOVE THAT GAL~~
But that last shot...you guys think these are all leading up to something? I mean you got that shadow pony doing the glowing eyes in Castle Mane-Ia, you got the comic disappearing, and then...this last frame of the episode. I have a feeling it has something to do with the keys...

Confetti ConfessionNow the reason to have a title like that is because I just thought it sounded a little cute is all. This is actually both a weird and sort of serious journal actually. I won't add any emoticons, nor will I even make that many jokes. So I have always been a tomboy for as long as I could remember and I am totally at peace with it because I do have a sweet side that is very evident. Despite the fact that it is not wise to make me angry nor act like an ignorant idiot, I am no different from anyone else really. ClicheismWhat a word, "Clicheism". Yes I know I just made it up, but what's in a word? Better yet, what's in an overused or large amount of cliches? We all have those certain cliches that make us all cringe, or even some that we never love or simply just don't get tired of. Be it the evil laugh, the speech before the final battle, leaping from an explosion, friendship becoming physical strength, the power of love, the rescue at the last second, the liar revealed, the list goes on. So we all know about these and have even identified with certain ones, but what is the limit of a cliche?Clicheism in Personal More Like This
After all, some of the greatest moments in cinemas and stories came from cliches (the kiss awakening the princess, the rebel being the hero). But in all honesty, we all must admit that we get tired of certain ones. We tend to nit-pick on movies and stories whenever they pull off certain things like this. For instance: Two nights ago on Toonami, I was watching a current episode of Bleach and for the n-millionth tim

No doubt you’ve all seen or heard the hullabaloo around Ye Olde Intertubes in the days and weeks following our beloved Derpy’s named appearance in the FIM episode The Last Roundup. What began as a campaign by trolls wreak havoc was soon picked up by well-meaning-but-misguided bronies and fans. The controversy stems from the mistaken belief that the word “derpy” is synonymous with mentally challenged. Obviously, it’s not. Rather it means clutzy or accident prone. Further, fans maintained that her slightly-husky voice in the episode was an attempt to mock people with learning disabilities. Again, untrue. Voiced by actor Tabitha St. Germain, Derpy was mistakenly thought to be a boy pony and was based on a young boy who lives next door to Ms. St. Germain.
This tempest in a teapot stirred up around the fandom has now exploded into what seems to be a PR-pushback by Hasbro.

Apparently it's the first thing you see when you step off the studio elevator. Well, either that or, if you're having a very lucky day, James Wootton's super-manly facial hair! Here's a bigger version of the image on Timon's DA page. Because laughter is always the best cureI must confess, I started this week in a bit of a foul mood. My Tumblr Dashboard, my Twitter homepage, even my personal email were overflowing with "OMG! HAVE YOU SEEN THE LYRA SEX TOY! MY LITTLE PONY IS RUINED FOREVER!!!!" messages. All of them complete with photographic evidence. Everywhere I turned, from Reddit to Ponibooru was like the ruined battlefield of a civil war reenactment staged by green pony butts. And you know what? The first, let's say, dozen times I saw it, I said to myself "Self, that's the end. It was a fun ride, but it's time to nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." Then I realized I was talking to myself again, and decided to just sit back, relax, and avoid the plot that devours nations.Because laughter is always the best cure in Personal More Like This

Hi everyone and everypony! I’m finding it difficult to believe that in less than a week we’ll be waist deep in the Friendship is Magic season finale. It seems like just the other day we were fangasming over the season premier. Now, here we are, 24 episodes down and but a pair remain. This season has been amazing. So much more than any of us really expected. The return of Luna, tons of Derpy, Lyra and Bon Bon hanging out, an unexpected Trixie shout-out, Dragons, more griffins, Time Travel, masked crusaders, self-help minotaurs, and plenty of incontrovertible proof that all the ponies in this town really ARE are crazy.
It’s been a brilliant season and a wonderful experience. We’re awash in conventions and gatherings; we have show-accurate toys and favorite background characters to look forward to. Derpy’s name was spoken and she was given voice.

As the next planet over that visiting wouldn’t be all that difficult (Venus being way too hot), especially after our trips to our own moon, Mars has always held a special attraction for our science fiction writers and illustrators. In fact, the comic book and the paperback novel are media in which fiction and art have formed a bond like no other in which the exterior presentation (the cover art) for the artform itself (the sci-fi novel’s text) is often of equal importance, creating a combined force, in serving the narrative. The chaptered comic strip, has been collected into a 100-page graphic novel – and to the still-uninitiated:
It is not quite like anything you’ve probably ever seen before. The story follows “Zee Captain” and his sidekicks as they amble through a post-apocalyptic landscape. And while that hardly seems new and different, it’s the unusually superlative graphic quality of the comic cells and the Monty Pythonesque dialogues and leaps of logic that can become quite mesmerizing. Zee Captain, his face hidden by a gas mask that gives him a Darth Vaderish look, wears what looks like a Soviet Red Army uniform from WWII, and the strip does have nourish WWII feel. It’s as if the nuclear holocaust on Hiroshima and Nagasaki had never ended and spread to every major city on Earth. But

Sometimes in youth we play crazy mind games. One gruesome game was trying to think of the worst way to die. Or even better, the "which would you choose" version of the same conceit. Another was what would be the worst torture to endure. If there is one international touchstone that best captures youthful fears and wonders in speculation of what lies beyond the veil of death and awaits as possible punishment for our sins, it must be - to the few who have actually read it to the millions who "know" it – "Dante's Inferno." Who does not shiver at the thought of being lost somewhere in the "Nine Rings of Hell?"

I have dated a lot of guys, but never felt really all that comfortable, and I've had a lot of crushes on girls, and been 'married' to one xD But I have been afraid to date a girl because my family are serious Christians and views gays as sick and mistakes that were created… if I were to one day be like "Hey, I got a girlfriend!" the likelihood of me being shunned by my family completely would be high. It's a bit of a stupid story but I kinda made it up real quick because I wanted to figure out my characters.
There are 2 older Woman and 1 older man (Mid 30's) are taking care of 5 kids. 2 boys (Age 17 and 16) and 3 girls (12,15, 16) (All characters don't have names yet)
All of them (including the older ones) were apart of an experiment, but they can't remember it, nor can they really remember who they are. They remember small things, such as names , ages , birthdays, etc. But not where they are from , their families, their school's or anything.
The experiments put upon them heightened their senses , gave them ears and tails they will learn later on more about what was done to them (Demonic powers and transformations and such , killer instinct, can change to animals and such.) They are trying to find their pasts, find the people who did it to them.

How it's simply thrown around now a day's like it's nothing. When I confront people about it they are all not "It's not an offensive word, there are gays out there, and they are called gay." I get that. Yeah. Even so, some homosexuals may find that offensive.
Using it like "Oh that's so gay!" "Your so gay!" That's an offensive way of using it.
You can't call an inanimate object 'gay'. THE OBJECT CAN NOT BE GAY SO YOU CAN NOT USE THE EXCUSE OF "Oh, but there are gay people in the world." USING THE WORD 'GAY' CAN BE OFFENSIVE!
Using it in that way is a put down. Since when did 'gay' become a word that could be used to put something or someone down!?
Do you know how many millions of people you are disrespecting by saying that something is 'gay'! Do you know how hard it is to be Homosexual in Modern day!?

Avoid UbisoftA while back, just after I had completed whichever iteration of Assassin’s Creed involved the pirate guy, I said that Watchdogs was probably going to be a crap game. A number of people said I was wrong to badmouth a game without playing it, but my argument was that you could gauge the quality of an upcoming title by the studio/publisher’s previous output. With that in mind, it’s fairly obvious that Ubisoft’s preferred method is to dazzle the weaker minded with pretty, pretty graphics in order to sell as many copies as possible before someone points out that the game actually plays like a dog (which – what ho - is exactly what Watchdogs did).Avoid Ubisoft in Personal More Like This

This episode is like FPK if the Pinkie Sense if the sense only hurt Pinkie and Twilight continued to not believe it and she never accepted it in the end.Sorry, Wrong Ed in Personal More Like This
Let's Talk About It - Patrickman!Welcome to my new segment (that I might turn into videos) called Let's Talk About it, where people keep asking me to review episodes that aren't bad enough to be atrocities or good enough to be admirable, but still deserve a few comments. Today's episode is Patrick-Man! People keep wondering why it wasn't on my Worst Patrick's a Prick list, along with Driven to Tears, Rule of Dumb, and Patrick Smartpants... for some reason. I like all of those episodes, except Driven to Tears, which left me more conflicted than anything. I also like Patrickman, which really seemed to surprise a lot of people so let's talk about it.Let's Talk About It - Patrickman! in Personal More Like This
What separates Patrickman from episodes like Patrick's Staycation, Yours, Mine and Mine, and The Card? It's really simple, for the first time since, I can't even remember, Patrick's stupidity felt genuine. It didn't feel malicious or even hedonistic. The basic plot is that Patrick is fe

Hey, I warned you guys that this would be the angriest that I've been, if not ever, at least since Chicken Little. And why is that? I mean, I mean it doesn't do anything that Family Guy would do (give a baby herpes, play with the emotions for a ratings trap, tell abuse victims that they should stay in abusive relationships for the abuser's benefit, etc). Let's start with the fact that this was exceptionally hard to watch in its own right, even for me. I mean the character models are so off that it gives you constant cringe. I mean, this was a whole review where I had a hard time even looking at the screen. The whole time (unlike Ren Seeks Help, which at least had some dull and breather moments. Ren Seeks Help is still worse though).
I won't lie, a lot of anger probably came from reviewing the laziest animation ever made, while working on my own. They didn't try in any area. I'm not even going to bring up the story. But for the animation, I have to wond
My Top 20 Least Favorite PokemonSince I'm pretty deep into Pokemon right now and I'd like to give my opinions on some of them, I thought I'd do something a little fun giving both my favorite and least favorite Pokemon, 20 of them (each). I did something like this before, but that had a bunch of filler-entries. Bronzong may be my least favorite steel type, but I don't have any dislike for the bell-thing. So I figured I'd give you my straight up, 20 least favorite Pokemon. And my opinions have changed a bit with me using more of a variety. These are straight up opinions and Pokemon that aren't good at battling, like Tropius or Dunsparce can be saved by their designs. Unfortunately that cuts both ways and some of the Pokemon on this list I hate for appearance alone. I'm also judging the Pokemon based on what they add to the game... you know like how zubat and tentacool adds a shit ton of annoyance (although neither of them are on this list because crobat is awesome and I've got nostalgic attatchment to tentacruel, it beMy Top 20 Least Favorite Pokemon in Personal More Like This
Weirdness....Alright, awhile back I did a review on an absolutely terrible book entitled "1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die," a book that was riddled with errors. Table of contents directions lead to wrong pages. Some titles in the table of contents used one regional name, while the actual entry used a different regional name (Freak Out/Stretch Panic). There were also typos and spelling errors. Sometimes games like H.E.R.O. and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would be at the top of their letter section, and sometimes they would be where they would if they didn't have any periods. Not to mention that they didn't know how to alphabetize at all. This book is probably the only place in the world where Super Mario Bros. comes in between Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. And that's in the table of contents.Weirdness.... in Personal More Like This
Throughout the book, there are plenty of errors. Each entry gives us a blurb where the editor didn't check for grammar and someone thought that Brewster (from Animal Crossing) was an owl. Not on
What I Expect from FiMSo, Dr. Wolf just released a video that you should totally watch if you haven't. I'd link it here if I knew how to link youtube videos without automatically embedding them. And with me being the guy who complains a lot about negativity I suppose I'd say what I expect from Friendship is Magic. What I Expect from FiM in Personal More Like This
A coherent story. This is the most important thing for me. A story should know what plot it's trying to tell and know how to do it.Consistent characterization: Characters have to be in-character, although it's not a black-and-white thing. Some actions are debatably "in-character" (see in Pinkie Pie in A Friend in Deed)Some level of entertainment: It's entertainment, it should be entertaining. I'm not expecting the most hilarious or epic thing ever. As long as the story is interesting, or funny, it meets this expectation.A moral that understands itself: This is the only expectation that I apply to Friendship is Magic that I don't apply t
Fresh HeirI actually feel really alive pelting shit like this. It's a good thing too because this episode was absolutely horrendous. I didn't even show you the final joke where Peter references some random movie where another father marries his son. Even if Homer vs. Dignity made its reference more blatant, it wouldn't make the episode any better. Oh yeah, the Lois-Chris suicide joke was actually worse than I let on, and every joke seemed to go on forever.Fresh Heir in Personal More Like This
