I have been very busy with other doll projects but I am very pleased to present my latest ebay offering. Diana Ross and her music has been very much a part of my growing up years and many memories of my life back in the Philippines, so creating a celebrity custom doll honoring Ms. Ross was an absolute pleasure.
I use a Mattel production doll for this project. The inset photo at the bottom shows the doll in its original factory state.
As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The doll also underwent hair rework to match the proportions of the face. .
Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.
-- acrylic paint and ultra fine brushes

I'm filling up my etsy shop for the Christmas season. There's 15 available at this moment. I'm posting pictures so anyone interested can see them. They range in price from $55-75. Shipping includes insurance for total price. I do ship internationally, but that has be discussed before purchase.
My lovely 5 yr old designed a doll! She's been wanting me to make a doll for her for a long time, but couldn't make up her mind on what she wanted. We put them all into one doll. She wanted rainbow hair, solid purple eyes (like an alien, lol), fangs, and pink and purple leopard spots. The doll is finally done. I have to admit I thought she'd be awful, but she's super cute!
monster high custom swamp mermaid… she lures you in with her eerie charms and then invites you to supper …. * i suspect she is a meat eater …… had a fun diorama night shoot with this one … all parts handmade by myself including face up, glow in the dark dip dyed wig, sculpted airbrushed tail and hands, wire glowing posable fin with 28 individual pieces, outfit, head dress, resin display stand etc

The lovely Isla was created using a Monster High Draculaura by Mattel. She has received a full facial repaint, body blushing and I also removed her hair and replaced it with a gorgeously soft faux fur wig in white! She is currently for sale on ebay if anyone is interested and link is below. Thanks so much for looking!
Sweet little Absynthe was created using a Monster High Skelita Calaveras doll by Mattel. She has the gorgeous skeleton body which I loved shading to make more realistic. I completely removed her facial paint and gave her a full repaint to look softer and sweeter. She is not the easiest sculpt to paint... her eyes are so huge but I tried to bring the size down as much as possible while maintaining some realism. I love how she turned out. Her auction link is here if anyone is interested...
This fleck of time seemed longer than it should have, and Mikey found herself forgetting why she was crouched with her hands in the dirt.
Quartz was pivotal in just about ever ritual Dervish and she had ever done, but witch hunters had learned where quartz lay, and Mikey had to be more than careful when she was sifting through rocks, keeping one eye on the rocks as the fell through her fingertips, and another on her surroundings.
She could help but thinks about what Dervish had said that morning, that she was his muse. Mikey knew she belonged to him by magical law, and though he treated her like any other of his close friends, if not better, there was always something that made her wonder if they would be that close if she were not his slave. She was not alone as an exile demon, but she certainly had a reputation as one with a exceptionally good life.
Her eyes moved back down to the dirty crystals in her open pouch. There was more than enough quartz to last them the month and Mikey pulled the drawstrings tight before clipping the bag to her belt. She brush her skirt of the dust and tiny pebbled and he'd her hand out. Her fingers spread as wide as they could, and her palm faced outward.
"Omina iminae lotica Dervish"
And she vanished, stepping through the foggy portal.
Bit of a preview of some writing I'm doing, as well as some kind of context. This shot was taken with some quartz in her hand, so it's kind of relevant >> It just started raing and I was sore and blah, shhh. You'll meet Mikey's love interest, Van, (she's not his love interest which make it a bit futile) in the rest of it, as well as a few more characters I'm working on. I bought a MNF Rheia who will be Merida, one of Mikey's friends, and I would like a MNF Karsh to be Van. Some day, anyway XD
Aw, Mikey <3 Poor sweetheart needs some clothes that fit her personality. I'm sure we'll get there. I might try out some patterns for ~Half-Jak's Harmony on her and use the duds before making some nice finished stuff for Hamham. Mikey isn't as classy as Harmony so it'll be hilarious/interested to see how the same pattern with a different approach can be.
Anyway, I am tired and should try to get some sleep again. Sorry about this huge rant! D8 Night! <33
Mikey is a MNF Chloe from [link] Her ears are from Leekeworld but are discontinued. Her shirt is by *kawaiimon, her wig is by Luts, her eyes are 14m and are from Impldoll, and her faceup is by me. Any questions, please ask ^.^
Right after this shoot I managed to rub the dye from her nose and so now I've redyed her head, but a faceup will have to wait as I've got zero MSC at the moment. I was planning to redo her faceup when I got some anyway, but I didn't think it'd be this annoying. I was a bit heartbroken :<
At the very least, i think I'll tone down the freckles next time. I do like the crazy sun damaged amount of freckles she has going on though, like she spends every waking moment in the direct sunlight and heat of a desert. Ugh, such a gorgeous doll in tan, but it's such a pain to upkeep. I don't know if it's worth it, as much as I'd love to keep her this way. She'll be so much more suited to 'Mikey' once I give her a new faceup.
Boring shots because my health is blegh. Tate is turning out to be a very pretty many doll indeed. I only hope his body is okay for him. Should be better than Vin's three year old Dollstown body XD I'm really starting to like white skin again.
