Dib is Sick - Chapter 44
Shaking his head at Dib's question, Zim smiled back at him reassuringly. "No, I don't think so anyway. I had to tell them I didn't know about it..." He said, then looking down at the bandages and feeling a bit guilty.
Dib frowned at the look on Zim's face. "It really wasn't your fault. It was mine. So if they ask me what happened, I'll just tell them it was a result of my own stupidity...A-And that I don't want to talk about it..." He said, looking away awkwardly.
Snapping out of it, Zim looked back at Dib for a moment. "Huh?...Oh, right. Y-Yeah...But y'know. They may have forgotten about it." He said, not feeling entirely sure about that but running a hand down Dib's arm regardless. Bringing his hand over to rest on Dib's warm cheek, he then sent him a small reassuring smile.
Dib nodded his head slowly in response to that. "I hope so..." He said before closing his eyes and pressing closer to Zim, hiding his face once again in the other's uniform, reluctant to look up. The memory of wh

Smiling over at Dib happily when the human licked him on the cheek, Zim blushed a little bit before giving Dib a quick kiss on the cheek and pulling away to smile at him again.
Cheeks becoming a bright pink at the kiss he received from Zim, Dib pulled back a bit, hiding part of his face in the covers shyly.
Running a hand over his hair apologetically, Zim sat up a bit to put his wig back on, still smiling at him as he leaned himself on him carefully again and sighed. " I wish I didn't have to wear this stinking disguise...Oh well." He shrugged.
"Me too...But maybe later tonight, after we go to bed, you can take it off while you sleep. I doubt anybody will come in while we're sleeping."
"Umm...M-Maybe. I guess it will be okay if I'm underneath the covers completely...But I'll probably want to stay awake to make sure you're okay through the night anyways."
"You could...hide underneath the bed covers with me...that way you could watch over me at the same time." Dib smiled hopefully at him

Nodding dazedly when the nurse asked him for his father's contact information, Dib gave her the number for his father's lab as well as his home number in case he wasn't there. "I-I can't guarantee you'll be able to get a hold of him. He's really busy and doesn't always answer the phone." He said before she left to attempt contacting him.
"Well, don't worry too much about it. We'll do whatever we can to get a hold of him." The nurse smiled before leaving the room to go and call Dib's father.
Frowning a bit, Zim watched her leave the room before turning back to Dib again. "Why do they have to call your dad anyway? Shouldn't they be more concerned about starting your treatment?" He looked down at the bed and slid a hand over one of Dib's hands, entwining his fingers with Dib's and sighing.
His blush slowly dying down, Dib leaned up against Zim a bit. "Well, it's not every day they get a patient my age coming into the emergency room without a parent accompanying them." He sighed. "But I wi

Finally managing to get his coughing somewhat under control for the time being, Dib gasped for air as his hands were now covered in blood and everything hurt thanks to his fever, which had grown even worse than it'd been before. "Z-Zim...I can't move..." He said once he had settled some.
Grabbing some tissue from the side, Zim's eyes grew wide at seeing all the blood before he very carefully took his hand to gently wipe it away. Doing his best not to hurt him in the process, he then looked down at Dib with even more worry than before. "Dib, I'm taking you to a hospital...Right now." He said, getting up to gather a few of his things before leaving.
Eyes snapping wide open at those words, Dib followed Zim's movements with his eyes, watching him as he grabbed his disguise and hurried over to his closet to grab him a clean pair of pajamas just to return and carefully dress him in them before scooping him and the covers around him up into his arms, causing him to let out a pained scream bef

Blushing at the small lick to his cheek, Dib gave Zim's finger one last good suckle before pulling it from his mouth and turning over onto his back so he could look at Zim better, still cradling the other's arm to his chest. Turning over even more onto his other side so he could nuzzle himself into Zim's chest, he then hid his face there so the Irken wouldn't see his blush.
Wrapping his other arm around him to hug Dib closely to him, Zim lightly nuzzled against the top of his head, still smiling at him. "Hmmm...You are so...What's that word?...Oh, yes. Cute." He said before giving Dib another small nuzzle.
Lifting his head to look up at Zim, Dib's face flared up a bright red at the other's words. "Y-You think I'm c-cute?" He said, tilting his head to one side slightly.
Zim looked down at Dib a bit blankly. "Uhm...Yes?" He said, wondering now whether he had used the correct word to describe Dib.

Watching as Zim left with Purple, Dib suddenly felt rather uncomfortable being left alone with only Red, unsure whether he should leave or stay.
Closing the door behind them, Purple then turned to face Zim once they were alone, circling him a few times before slinking up behind him to place two hands with long, slender fingers on his shoulders. "So...Tell me, Zim...You 'like' this Dib-human that Red has been talking about this entire time?" he questioned the other, almost suspiciously.
Zim blushed at having Purple so close. There had been a reason why he preferred to speak with HIM over Red after all, the same reason Red always wanted him gone. "Yes...I like him." he answered back confidently, eyes fixed on anywhere but Purple.

His antennae falling back to press against his head, Dib narrowed his eyes on Zim even more. "That's not funny, Zim!" he exclaimed, slamming his hands down on the kitchen table.
Zim shrank down into his chair as far as he could. "Haha." he laughed uneasily then swallowed. "R-Right. Not funny." he said more to himself than to Dib.
Hearing the other still laughing, Dib, without thinking, threw his plate of food at Zim. The Irken ducked out of the way just in time to avoid the plate as it crashed against the side of the wall and broke into pieces.
Breathing heavily, Dib seemed to snap out of his sudden rage when he heard the sound of the glass breaking, causing him to blink wide eyes open, his antennae perking. Scooping Dib up bridal style, Zim smiled and carried him upstairs. "Anything specific you want?" he asked.
Antennae still drooping, Dib could only shrug loosely. "Sugar..." he spoke, feeling as though he hadn't had anything sweet to eat in days. He just felt like sprinkling sugar over everything edible in the fridge.
Zim smiled and nuzzled him. "Okay, anything UNDER that sugar?" he asked with a laugh.
"Whatever you have left over in the fridge, I guess...I don't really care." Dib said as he let his eyelids slip closed to rest against Zim tiredly.
As they went up in the elevator to get food, Zim nuzzled him gently. "I'd say we have a lot of leftovers...That is, if Gir hasn't done anything with them yet..." he laughed.
Opening his eyes, Dib looked back up at Zim. "I'll eat whatever you have...These smeets aren't exactly too picky at the moment. They're mostly just making me hungry for ANYTHING really..." he said.
Zim smiled. "Okay. How about that left over Chinese take-out?"

"Ohh, Dib...Is that all?"
Letting out a small whimper, Dib broke down again. "I wasn't afraid you'd go too far. I was afraid I'd go too far! So I pulled away before that could happen because I didn't want to hurt you!" he exclaimed, unsure whether he would have been able to go all the way through with it had he started.

To his surprise, said Irken was nowhere to be found. He had gone upstairs while Dib was sleeping but hadn't made it back before he woke up.
So, sitting up in bed slowly when he realized Zim wasn't in the bed with him, Dib looked about the room confusedly. "Zim?" he said again, unsure whether he should get up and look for the other or stay put. Squeezing his legs together somewhat uncomfortably, he squirmed about in the covers a bit as the urge to pee hit him all over again, reminding him that he had needed to go the last time he had woken up.

Dib slowly looked back to the doctor, shifting in his seat as he considered the question. “Well, he was loud and obnoxious and would often insult the human race whenever he had the chance to. But, he was very proud of his race and his leaders. He made every attempt to take over Earth even if he failed every time. Resolve came in the form of first sunlight beaming through the shattered hole that was at one point a window. It immediately melted away the shadows and extinguished the coolness that the night had brought. Everything was completely visible now and revealed to the paranoid human.
However, even after the sun had come up, Dib took a while to convince himself that there wasn't actually anything there, and that it had all just been a crazy delusion in his head. After several more minutes of watching everything around him, he had finally convinced himself that he was alone now, which actually relaxed him and made him realize how tired he actually was. It was too late to try and sleep now though since he had to get ready for another dreadful day of school.

The sight of that haunting grin seemed to paralyze the boy as he slowly let himself down to the floor, wrapping himself in a fetal position as he rocked himself very stiffly as if to comfort himself. Violent shivers also shook him as the cackle rung in his ears as they only intensified the dread he was already feeling.

Dib spat again, before pulling himself up. He had no choice but to head back to class, knowing he would either invoke the Bitters horrible wrath or land himself a place in the underground classroom for the rest of the year. Wanting neither, he trudged back into the building. Only after his right

Zim tried not to feel anxious as he continued to wash himself.
"Oh, shut up, Zim! You know very well I asked you to keep a shower running for me before you left the gym! How was I supposed to know you were still using it?! Besides, I thought you hated water! So why haven't you gone home yet?!" Dib snapped right back at the other, peeking out from behind the curtain of his shower to have a look around, contemplating ducking behind various shower curtains until he could reach the towels on the other end of the room.
Chancing a quick glance over at the shower Zim was still standing behind, he took a deep breath before darting out to make a quick dash for the shower curtain closest to his own. He then did the same with the next one and then the next one, drawing ever closer to his prize. When he was about two showers away from where he could see the folded up towels however, he felt his foot slipping against the wet tile floor as he made another mad dash for one of the curtains.

I woke up early the next morning. My alarm wasn't set to go off for another twenty minutes. I tried closing my eyes to get some more shut eye before school, but I was too awake to go back to sleep. Yawning, I kicked back the covers and pulled myself out of bed. Reaching for my glasses beside me, I slipped them on and my blurry vision soon focused.
I let out a sigh.
Today I would have to work on the project with Zim. I wondered if he'd done any of the research I suggested and stifled back a laugh as I could just imagine the reaction he would have had on his face after finding out what 'sex' involved.
"You're up early." came a voice. I turned towards my door to see Gaz standing there. She was already dressed for the day in her usual attire of a black dress and striped purple and black tights. She glared at me and I could see her new GameSlave in her hand.
"Why was Zim here yesterday anyway? I passed him on the way back from the mall. He looked kinda spaced out."

I kicked at a stone, or so the hyoomans had called it, with my foot as I made my way back to the base. I was perturbed yet also intrigued by the Dib-hyooman's odd behaviour towards me today. First he stares at me, and then he tries to touch my hair covery thing as well. What was his problem? Maybe he thought I was making the whole project thing up.
Truth is, I wasn't. That old hyooman by the name of Sowourz really had approached my superior form and requested this 'project' be completed. I hadn't told the Dib what date she wanted it by yet, but heh, he could figure that out for himself in that huge head of his. I'm sure there was some form of brain within it.
As I approached the base I found GIR sitting on a pile of dirt, a little flag on top bearing the Irken Command logo. Of course, as soon as he saw me, he leaped up and flew at me, knocking me to the ground.
"GIR!" I shouted. "Get off!"
"Mastah!" My mental SIR unit squealed. "You is home! I

He felt bloody terrible about how he had quite literally left in the middle of the night, taking only his cane and his dog with him. Of course he had realized that Sherlock had followed him to Mary's place that first night. Of course he knew that, he had expected him to follow. A sigh left his lips as he bent down, putting the leash on his loyal pet's collar. He did nothing but walk and go to work. That was it. It was all he could really handle at that point in time. The events of that night were still fresh in his mind and he was afraid if he spoke aloud to anyone of what happened something bad would

The world around him would have been warm, comfortable for an average man, but John did not feel a thing of it. Not the soft bed beneath him, nor the warmth from the fire. He felt none of it, he felt nothing. Nothing, but cold, empty and lost. How had it all happened? How had everything gone so wrong?
"John? Is there anything I can get for you?" Mary asked sitting on the edge of the bed. When on earth had she appeared? There was a look of concern, of love in her eyes. It was for him, the concern and love, all for him. Nothing phased him, he could not even bring himself to smile. "Do you feel ill?"

From his vantage point he could almost see the park where he and John had first met; the park where the military families and their servicemen would gather before they were deployed into action. An event that he had been dragged to as a child by his older brother. That had been the first time they had met.

Dib had given a note to Zim listing everything that he needed to bring to the sleepover, after skool.

Zim had looked up before what a sleeping bag was and he now knew what it is used for. He had called the computer and told it to make two sleeping bags during skool.
