To Punish and EnslaveThere was no such thing as law enforcers in this world. To Punish and Enslave in Short Stories More Like This
The police did not protect and serve the public.
They did not keep the streets a safe place.
Murderers, Rapists, Robbers, and the corrupt were not arrested.
In this world, the cops were there to punish and enslave.
Kaine was one of many who knew that when you saw red and blue lights flashing, you hid. Immediately. The blond rebel, however, was no stranger to the treatment of the police once captured. Many were amazed that he was still out on the streets. No uniformed ijit could contain him.
On these streets, you either did what you were told: stay in line, don't ask questions, and keep your head down.
Or you work in the shadows to fight against the corrupted. That is what Kaine did. He was an underground citizen, he did not exist in the civilized world. The only place he did exist is on the cops most dangerous list for treason. Kaine did not stay in line, keep his head down, didn't do as he was told, and most certainly asked all t
Blake - GiDIt was late. The entire house was asleep; everyone except for Blake. The boy had woken only an hour or so after falling asleep feeling that something wasn't right. The stable boy threw his legs over the side of his makeshift bed three bundles of hay with some blankets covering it, and pulled on his shoes, pulling his hanging suspenders up over the shoulder of his loose, white cotton shirt as he raked a hand through his messy, nearly shoulder length dirty blond hair. He yawned before he started walking, moving slowly down to the lower section of the barn, making his way to the stables.Blake - GiD in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
"Come on," he heard a man whisper. "Just get the horse! Fast! Before someone sees." Blake gulped. The voices definitely didn't belong to his master, nor to anyone else who lived in or worked at the large farm house. He tip-toed around the back of the stable, entering into shadows, trying to figure out what was going on. His blue-green eyes widened as he saw three men, all dressed in dark colors, le
Investigation Gone Wrong - GiDJoshua Trager had been helping his father with cases for years, and this time, he had finally taken on one of the investigator's cases for himself. Drew - GiDDrew took a deep breath as he let the pot enter his system. He knew that he shouldn't be in the park after hours and he definitely should have been getting stoned, but he couldn't handle things at home anymore, not the way they had been going. He closed his eyes as he took another hit off of his own clumsily rolled joint, leaning against the tree where he stood. With his eyes closed, he hadn't noticed the uniformed officer walker towards him.Drew - GiD in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
"Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?" Drew's eyes flew open as he heard the voice, and he dropped the joint, stamping it out quickly with his sneaker.
"Nothing," Drew said hurriedly, pushing some of his black and blond hair from his face, revealing an eyebrow ring.
"I'll need to see some ID."
"Of course." Drew fumbled to produce his wallet and he held out his recently procured driver's license.
"Alright Drew Hill. You're 16, which means you're out past state curfew, this park closed three hours ago and you didn't hide those drugs fast

A man dressed in black stood in a dark corner on the almost vacant street of LA. Around him cars sped down the street, trying ot get past red lights and swerving around pedestrians. Girls walked in tight clusters down the streets and drunk men stumbled home, whooping at eachother like lunatics. Every now and then the man would pull out his phone to check the time, but remained looking around. His baby blue eyes flickering to everything that seemed to move within 10 feet of him. He wore everything dark, except a belt full of silver studs and a shining golden necklace with a star on it. He ran his hand through his spiked up hair and looked around again, looking for something. Suddenly a car engine roared and pulled up beside him. A black mustang slowed to a stop and rolled down the window. Inside, a man in his late 20s leaned over the arm rest to look at the black clad man. Like him, he was decked in mostly black. A cowboy hat positioned

Dreams Forgotten chapter 8 - Come back...
As I emerged through the door, I looked back at the house. Through the window I could see Ella burying her head into Jake's shoulder. His face was pale and he didn't react. CC picked Ashley off the ground, who immediately ran to the door but didn't open it. I him pounding on it while screaming my name over and over. it made my heart sink and I wanted to go back there...but I couldn't I couldn't let all of them see me again like this...just Ashley.
Painfully, I pushed my translucent body through the garage door and waited.
My mind raced, all sorts of emotions raced through me as I fell back. Was that really Andy? Was I seeing things? Dreaming? Covered my face and wailed in pain, not only because of my tailbone hurting like a bitch but also I wanted him to come back. Why did Andy rum away from us? His smile...was it bad or good? I couldn't think. I could only hear Ella's scream muffled by Jake's shoulder and she started crying. Som
Jinxx's Headache - JakinxxtianI was lying in bed, my head pounding for some reason I didn't know. The blankets were pulled up over my head to keep sound and light away, which made it worse. First thing I know I was playing videogames with CC and Jake then BOOM it felt like someone hit me over the head with a baseball bat. Of course nobody kept Advil around here...Jinxx's Headache - Jakinxxtian in Romance More Like This
The door creaked open, footsteps aproched me. I turned over to see Jake and CC's sillohettes walking towards me. CC stopped and lent over, I could see the whites of his eyes in the darkness.
"Is he awake?" Jake whispered.
"I dunno. Heeey, are you awake?" CC whispered.
I pulled down the blankets enough to show them I was awake. "What?"
CC looked back at Jake, then got on the bed. It creaked under his weight.
"We're going to help you get better." CC giggled, sitting next to my head.
Jake climbed in by CC, sitting in front of him.
"I just need to lie down-"
"You need a massage, thats what you need." CC pulled my upper body and sat my head on his lap then beg

My dreams were clouded and full of mind blurring events, I couldn't recall all of them at once but in short episodes. I hated every single one of them, the few I remembered were horrible to me. Reoccurring ones of Andy reaching out to me, being pulled back by some force. His blue eyes filled with fear. I tried to reach out to him, but my body was stuck still. I couldn't move, no matter how much I screamed for him.
Then suddenly I was standing in the middle of nowhere, nothing but hills that seemed to stretch for miles on end. I began to walk, my hands swinging at my sides. Every step I took made the sky darker and the footstep sound deeper, slowly ranging from a mere tap and eventually like clogs on a shallow staircase to thunder strikes that rattled my chest. The sky grew dark and a very, very cold rain picked up, chilling me to my very bones.
"Hello?" I called, holding my arm up to shield myself from the piercing rain and wind. "Hello!?"
The wind spiked my hair straight back, I grunt

We only sat there, curled up on the bed just basking in eachother's presence. We hadn't been like this ins forever, just laying with eachother in the dark. His piercing blue eyes never left mine that night, his glowing figure the only light in the room, my breathing the only sound, the only movement was when we blinked. I pressed my hand against his transparent one, just barely being able to feel him against me. He sighed sadly as he was unable to completly hold my hand as we used to. I missed doing hat so much.
"I missed this." he murmured. "I wish I was an actual human again. With skin and bone and..." he looked up at me. "Not just a bunch of energy and stuff."
"but." he continued "I think I'm only kept here for a reason."
"What happened when you died?" I asked. It felt weird, I mean, you don't usually get to ask someone that. It plucked another string in my heart to remember that Andy was, in fact, dead. He closed his head and sighed as if trying to remember that n

I groaned, turning over and flicking on the light. Throwing my covers off I tromped to my bedroom door.
"WADDYA WANT?!" I screamed down the stairs.
"DINNER. C'MON DAD GOT PIZZA!" my sister yelled.
I let out a happy noise and pulled on my pants, I thumped down the stairs shirtless and swung into the kitchen where my dad and sister were standing. My dad had 2 Little Ceasers boxes in his left hand.
"Hey sleepyhead." Savannah said, ruffling my already messed up hair.
"Hey whore." I said, poking her bra strap that was visible hanging off her solder.
"Shut up." she pushed it back into place.
"Hey!" Dad warned.
"He started it!" Savannah whined.
"You're 14 Savannah, not 7." he said.
I stuck my tongue out at her.
"Dad! Jake stuck his tongue out at me!"
"You two keep fighting and I'll eat this pizza myself." he said, setting the boxes down on the counter.
I grinned, knowing I won the battle.
Dad handed each of us three slices. I raced to the livingroom and jumped on

I sat sobbing next to Andy in the ambulance as they worked on him. In the back of my mind I knew their works were in vain, but I still trusted them to do everything they could. Jake sat beside me, letting me cry into his bare shoulder as I heard the medics call to one another in codes I didn't understand. Everything swirled through my head in a blur, nothing made sense. All I knew was I had just watched the love of my life die in my hands, Jake had to pull me away physically and call the police. I had cradled him, still sobbing until they had come to take him in the ambulance. Even then, I faught back.
"NO! He's MINE!" I screamed "You can't have him!"
"Sir, we need to help--"
"NO!" I felt Jake swoop down to drag me away again. "Let go of me jackass! Andy!!"
"Shock." one of the doctors muttered to another. "Not uncommon with people going through this."

"Guys....I think we need to call the cops."
All five of us turned to look at Jinxx, who had the most mortified expression I've ever seen on his face. CC leaned over to look at the screen and then turned away, looking sick. I crossed the room to look down over the laptop, but Jinxx closed it and shook his head.
"Ashley....no." he said.
"What is it?" I demanded.
"You already saw it...just, it might mess with you." he swallowed "Its Andy."
I grabbed Jinxx's computer from him. He was right, an animated GIF of the masked man shooting Andy. It was hard to tell it was them though, it was dark and shadowy. The flash of the gun and the 2nd figure--Andy-- dropping to the ground. The 2nd man ran toward the camera and in the background you could see me running to the scene. I scrolled down and saw a few pictures, captioned with comments that were supposedly funny. Below it were even worse pictures, not memes, but of dead people. Some with obvious

It seemed like years passed before I gathered the courage to go back inside the house itself, in fear the others might see me again. I didn't want them to see me, it'd be too much. They'd flip their shit again. Ashley could handle it, he wasn't as scared as the others were, hell he wanted me to stay. I felt his pain in having me go again. His chest ached and his body was numb, he was sad. Depressed even. Yes, I could feel his emotions. Exactly like it was happening to my own body--the body I used to have anyway. The body thats 6 feet under a pile of dirt in a cemetery overlooking a valley, near a church and a few houses blocked in with a black iron gate that went 6 feet tall and a gate that went even higher. The body that lay in the same field with other bodies, rotting away to bones. Bodies whose souls had passed on...but not me. There was a possibility that there were a few-very few-spirits from that place left here forever...but i

She walked to school with the lunch she packed, nobody knows what shes holding back. Wearin' the same dress she wore yesterday, she hides the bruises with the linen and lace. Oooh.
A small boy walked quickly out of his house, clutching a brown paper bag to his thin chest, his superhero backback hanging off of one elbow. He wore a plain white tank top and jeans that were too small, not reaching his ankles, he wore the same clothes all week because his mom didn't wash his clothes anymore. Or buy any for him. He looked around slowly as he walked to school, the other kids passing him and whispering to eachother. The other kids didn't like him all that much because he was quiet. Not even his teacher talked to him all that much.
"Bye sweetie I'll see you after school!" Andy watched as a nearby mother hugged her da
