I love overhead shots like these, as long as you make sure the photographer is standing closer to your head as opposed to your feet. In this case, the contrast of black on white emphasizes the silhouette of the figure, and I love that the only popping color is my skin. The masked eyes also contrast the sensual yet relaxed pose. Even while Black Cat is chilling out, she is a mystery ^_-...

Yaya Han signed Posters</b>

First photos of a new costume I made for Ikkicon. I found this artwork piece by mangaka Carnelian and fell completely in love with the design!
[link]
It's Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier, but as an adorable pirate girl! I happened to have very similar over the knee lace up boots, as well as 2 yards of deep purple Madonna velvet and black leather on hand, so I decided to push back my other cosplay plans to make this costume.

Construction notes: I started out by serging strips of magenta organza together, then hand ruffling the lengths and making a multi-layer ruffle skirt with them. I used the same organza to make the top and scalloped edged ruffle sleeves. I adorned the top and skirt with sequin trim because I thought it would be very Sheryl lol.
The captain's coat was fun and annoying to make. In hindsight I used three of the most difficult to work with fabrics on one garment, what was I thinking? The coat is velvet lined with two-tone taffeta, with all the black leather trim home made and carefully sewn on. I modified a pattern heavily and drafted parts of the coat on myself. It is reinforced with an extra layer of material inside, and boning.
The gold buttons have anchors on them which I thought was cute. I then made the ascot and garter belt, and covered a $5 Halloween felt pirate hat in black pleather left over from another costume. I also happened to have a nice beaded gold trim and purple and lavender feathers to embellish it with. The heart was kind of last minute put together and I may redo it in the near future. I did find some time to finally make Sheryl's microphone out of a mish mash of materials. Figuring out the braiding was interesting lol.

All in all, the costume came together in about 3 days of work and I am pretty happy with it! The colors are so cute together and I love my pirate hat. I am taking off the bows on the coat because they cover up all the arrow trim I spent so long making and stitching on. Definitely plan to wear it again soon, and do a location photoshoot!

Thank you to Brent LaVelle [link] for the studio shots!

Disclaimer: This is the only costume in my costuming gallery that I DID NOT make.

I was asked by Jamin of LeiasMetalBikini.com [link] to join the annual Slave Leia gathering at San Diego Comic Con because they needed a first time metal bikini wearer to talk about the experience for the Canadian TV Show "Ed The Sock". I was honored that Jamin approached me for that Feature! He loaned a beautiful costume to me for one day and I had a good time doing the gathering as well as posing for photos with Jabba The Hut! As a long-time Star Wars fan I wanted to make sure I was in good enough shape to pull off the bikini, and I also made Leia's gold earrings to complete the outfit.

You can see me in this footage G4 took at Comic Con! [link]

I also got filmed by the Tonight Show and was the only Slave Leia that year to make it into the actual Comic Con coverage. Random lol.

*PS - sorry for the snap shots. There were so many people around the Gentle Giant booth that we couldn't possibly get good photos.

Yaya modeling another of her amazing costumes! This costume was designs to be much like a moulin rouge type oufit...the skirt is tear-away!

As for the shoot, again, such vivid and stunning greens. That's nature for you! :) I love the fresh spring colors and the blues ofher outfit stand out very strongly aginst them...did I mention I love color? I'm thinking that's obvious now. XD

I do a lot of photography for my friend Yaya, who designs, makes and recreates cotumes...I love her work!

The location turned out perfect with the interior 'jungle' look, white grid of the windows, and the light coming in through the glass...COmbined with her bright pink & white outfit, she seemed rather like an exotic bird. XD Strange, I know!

I really enjoyed the colors...as you can see, I'm a total color freak to the point of being kitchy... XD But I love it!

Sadly this is the only one I really liked out of the shoot...It fails as a good image in my mind because I managed to chop off her toes. Bad Meg! Oh well! I learned better for next time. :)

This image was taken at the Athens Botanical Gardens in the winter of 2002 using an Olympus digital camera...

A shoot with Yaya Han in her originally designed costume based on the manga character Miyoubi from the series Aluchino...

I really love how this one turned out! All the light treatments are from the acctual photo, not from my tinkering. :) Yay!

Chun Li - Street Fighter Cosplay LSCC 2014 @ So Say We All

Leaving these kinda till last here is my very sparse offering of Yaya Han pictures from London Super Comic Con. Her costumes are so well made, I think one of my few LSCC regrets is not taking any of her Baroness .. I possibly have a crush over her Baroness ... possibly xD

I'm still on the fence on how I feel about this light effect, a few folk have said it looks good but maybe I just wish I had a darker background and a better shot to show it off on.

I found the original photo of this manip. enchanting. I thought about it and I knew I wanted to mess with it. So I did! Didn't want to make it too abstract, so I just played with little things on it. Yaya has practically black eyes, so makeing them lighter was a challenge, but fun! Yaya is my favorite person to make manips. of, so whenever I see a picture of her that catches my eye, it's fun to play with it.

This is Yaya Han, [link] in a costume based on a design by Nene Thomas, [link] When I first saw this costume on Yaya I knew I would have to make a CG of it. The wings are just amazing, I'm in awe everytime I see them. Yaya is a total goddess with feathers. Again, like in 90% of my Photo Manips., the base pictures were taken by Kyle Johnsen of Cosplay.com.

This year was my first time at Anime Expo. Being probably the biggest Anime Convention in America I had a list of photos I wanted to take. One was to get a photo of Yaya Han.

This was taken in the exhibition hall right before she went to do an interview. I really appreciate her taking time to pose and it's awesome how friendly she is.
