My submission for Tomb Raider Reborn. When are we getting a tattooed Lara!? haha. Haven't picked up the latest game, but I would have to say Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid were some of the original games that got me into gaming back in the day. Best of luck to the rest, looking forward to playing the game when I get the chance.
Haven't had the chance to enter into any of these comps that DA holds every now and then, but had some free-time and figured wth. Plus I rarely ever paint cars so i figured it would force me to practice on one.
This is my entry for the Gears of War Contest. Had a lot of issues with this piece because of Corel Painter 12 crashing and adding unwanted artifacts. This is one of the first of several pieces that I used a Windows desktop gadget called activity tracker to time how long I tool on it. I think that I have been over estimating the amount of time for my previous pieces. 29hrs Corel Painter 12 (09-2011)
Well..this piece was stored in the basement waiting to be finished I think I didnt finish yet but its good for a preview for this contest I dont know what happened to the scanner ..so the pic is a bit blurry I did by the inspiration I got from watching the Boris vallejo and Frank Frazetta's art.Its hand drawing ,paper 20 x 15 inches then covered with oil and acrylic..some touches of pastel and pencils and everything would be usefull Hope u all enjoy Curious thing its nowadays people are more photoshop..Im too...but we should not lose the romantic paintings of the hand..with oil acrylic and so on Good luck for everyone Best
I think everyone can relate to this, being consumed by the computer
I used Photoshop and a Wacom Intuos tablet to create this piece!
The idea for this was totally different when I started it, I knew I wanted to make something more cartoony with line-art, but the first idea was to actually be "transformed" into something. I later changed my mind as I finished up the second panel and decided it would be pretty funny to just show the computer left there, and stick with the theme of being consumed by the computer.
This took about 3-4 hours to complete, minus the pondering over what to do with the last panel!
Imagine that this car fight with robot aliens, itīs the last car standing, and you need to scape for this creatures. I try to give a little touch of fantasy, all the art here itīs like advertising banners or graphic design, I like but was time to do a illustration! I hope you like it! thank you so much for all the people that always supported me. First entry: [link]
To me a car is a creature. A metal that can move, make noise, able to breath and have soul (hence the name, "Dart Soul Particle") This piece of work was inspired by Dodge Dart 2013 .I hope you like it and thank you for the enjoyable contest from Dodge Dart Inspired by You Contest and DA. PS. I suppose to had this work in a couple of days ago but I feel like making improvement so I spend more time on it^ ^.
Diablo 3 Reaper of Soul cinematic really inspired me and Mathael is very powerfull and unstoppable. In this piece I got inspiration from ancient architecture, creatures in the game.Hope you guys like it. Thank you very much.
Been a while since I've submitted something to one of the dA contests. I was kindly invited to participate again so I thought I'd give the Toshiba contest a try.
About the design:
Ahh, my school days, how I miss them. From grade school to college, they seemed so carefree compared to my busy life now. I wanted to capture that carefree and energetic spirit that these young whipper-snappers seem to have in excess, while at the same time depict an image that's completely modern in style and meaning. Hopefully I'm not too behind the times, but I'm pretty sure this trendy style's still considered cool by modern-day youngsters.
Hope you kiddos (young and old alike) dig it. Oh and comments and crits are always welcome as usual.
Done completely digitally in Photoshop CS5; about 25 hours.
Just as an FYI, the "digital" logo as depicted in this image is completely original and is not used by any current corporate entity. It's really just a simple decorative label of the title of the artwork that I came up with on a whim.
If you'd like to download a copy of the image without the logo in the corner, you can get it here:
Here's my entry for the Fiat contest. I didn't really have a lot of time to work on it, so I decided to go with a rougher style than what I normally do. I wanted to do something that was vibrant and fun, which is the impression I get from those cute little Fiats. Hope you kiddos dig.
A lot of detail gets lost in this version, unfortunately. I've uploaded a better detail view of the design over yonder:
First off, lemme chime in, along with everyone else and their mom, that the new Tomb Raider is an amazing work of art. You can clearly tell that Crystal Dynamics poured their heart and soul into this labor of love. It's been a while since I've played something this good; if you haven't played it yet, go play it now!
So yeah, this has been one long-ass month of staying up til 2~4am most nights to work on this after I get out of work. I lost track of how many hours it took, but my slow ass took over 100 hours to work and rework the pose, angle, background, lighting, and details and I still feel like I could keep working on this for another week or more. In the end though, I'm really happy with the result; definitely one of my best works and hopefully a worthy homage to the awesomeness of the new Lara.
I tried to make the literal theme of ascension cool-looking (Lara fearlessly rock climbing in a beautiful/dangerous environment) while keeping the figurative theme of ascension subtle (Lara's struggle through Hell to reach salvation above) so that it wouldn't come off hammy. I also wanted to prominently feature the storm in the background because it played such an important role in the story, as well as to add an overall sense of impending doom/urgency to the image.
Oh, and btw, the climbing axe: most awesome piece of equipment ever.
