I've been thinking a lot about the holographic principle lately, it's the idea that the 3D universe is a holographic projection from a 2D surface, and that all 3D movement is encoded on that 2D surface. If that's the case, then whatever is on that 2D surface must be some
serious geometry of
some sort. It made me think of some 2D plane off at the far edge of the universe, too far away for any light to reach, and yet you and I are right there right now, trundling about like some flatlanders unaware of what our true position and nature is. Depending on your perspective, that barrier is either billions of lightyears away, or it is right here all around us. It is either the far extremity of the universe that confines time and space in a box, or it is the fabric of freedom and movement itself. Can both be true simultaneously? I have no fucking idea.
