VinashukaThe cloud that forms above the burning wastesVinashuka in Free Verse More Like This
Hints to many that the dying world breathes.
Beneath the empty morrow that holds the shattered
glass, I see myself whispering 'Vinashuka'.
Cold muttered voices tonguing the edge of my sanity
The creeping walls denote the loss of my inner being
Lick the paper that cuts the tongue into a myriad
of pieces and once again whisper 'Vinashuka'.
But my words will fall on deaf ears and I'm tempted
to once again open myself for torture. For perhaps
the endless grief with which I give myself meaning
will form into the bloodied words of 'Vinashuka'.
This single whispered temptation, a solitary lie
amongst thousands of truths, a comforting security
that tells me I'm alive-
Is simple called 'Vinashuka'.
Now I feel like biting this flopping tongue
This worthless condemnation of meat and drool!
It gibbers endlessly and drives me to madness
A madness known as 'Vinashuka'

The Dark Age of EquestriaThe Dark Age of Equestria:The Dark Age of Equestria in Free Verse More Like This
Long ago, when the stars were still young
The kingdom of Equestria burned in the fires of unholy war
For the Earth ponies, opressed by the noble unicorns
turned to the darker forces for aid and assistance
It began with a young Earth Pony, Rosenheart
Who was told by the Unicorns to pay her taxes on time
The Pegasi were sent to enforce this and she refused
"The taxes are too high!" she pleaded
sweat trickling down her face
"I cannot pay these taxes or my babies will starve!"
but the Pegasi cared not and simply took what they came for
They left her home a broken and cold place...
In desperation, she begged to the shadows that lurked around her
she asked them to help her and for this she would pay
she would pay any price that they asked
but the price they asked for was terrible indeed...
He came as a cloaked figure, standing on two legs
He was not like everypony else, instead he was something more
His eyes glowed red, like burning rubies

a horror beginning its birth. The serpent will slither
into a moistened cave and the blood will spill from broken lips
The secret was hidden beneath the trees, where the lovers
were kissed and never told. Yet the stains remain upon the grass.
Never to be erased...
How many times will I return, to a place I wish
I'd never see. Perhaps it is a way for me
To think of that which I regret...
But the man would never remind himself, of the horror
unleashed beneath falling leaves. The petals bear witness
to the struggled screaming, muffled by hands and feet.
A choking embodiment of sweat and tears and the final
release of a beating heart. The act is done and motion
has stopped, so now the vomiting begins...
An act of purity, to cleanse and expunge. It is
made to deny the gnawing guilt, for all that remains
is plain to see: a puddle of red on a sea of green.

Cold and arrogant slithering beast, your tongue is forked with lies
Do you intend to take my dignity or perhaps to sully my eyes?
No matter how much you speak of warmth; affection, care or love
I know that you are simple twisted; an assassin from above
Did you think I would not see the truth, or perhaps you thought me blind?
Perhaps you felt you could deceive this man, for he is simply kind
Woe is me the naive fool, taken in by your stories of harder times
Sadly my dear, I'm an utter sadist and the punishment will fit the crime.
I will lash your body, with the best of whips; let the leather bite in close
And then I'll let you hang for awhile, whilst you stare at me morose.
Why so serious, do I frighten you badly, is this not what you want?
When you slithered into my happy home, it was a vicious seed you sought to plant
But frankly I'm evil, much more than you are, I am the darkness beneath your bed
I'm afraid that when you close your eyes, it's me you

For you it is a solemn song that we are made to sing.
Your parents fought to save you, but here it is you lie
My sweetest little dragon child, why did you have to die?
There are no words to capture grief, nor the mourning in our hearts
I never thought that we were meant to be easily torn apart...
No pain in life could have ever prepared us, for the pain we faced today
My child I wish you could hear the words that we truly long to say
We wish we could have taught you, about the flowers in the spring
We wish we could have showed you, the homes of our kin...
We wish we could have loved you, and watched you fly away
But in this cold and clammy cave is where you have to stay
We'll lay you down to rest for now, so just dream of better times
Your mother and I will be the ones to atone for our crimes
Sleep for now and rest yourself for you needn't ever rise
We will stay and watch you drift away, before our very eyes...

The roaring wind was quick to die
As the fog began to form.
Silence soon surrounded us
Like a calm before the storm.
In the darkest distance; against the light
I could hear a haunting melody.
It seemed to sound like a Siren's call
Coming from across the sea.
Immediately my crew reacted
As we dove beneath the deck.
Wool and wax to plug the ears
And ropes to tie me back.
As a Captain of this Pirate ship
My duty was plain to see.
Tied to the mast as a sacrifice
Was where I soon would be.
For one alone must endure the call
Else the Siren would not sing.
This had been a long tradition
Since the time of the Pirate King.
A swig of rum would steel the soul;
With a prayer of mercy from the crew.
Left alone upon the deck
It was like a private dinner for two.
'Come with me, my little sailor,'
Her voice did whisper in my mind
'I alone will give you pleasure,
For I alone am kind...'
Indeed she was an enchanting creature

"Morning Jack!" responded his sister merrily, "Do you want to play with us?" she added.
"Where's Jef?" you asked Jack and he remembered that the girl can't see you yet.
"Sure. Uhmm Mary, do you know where Jef is?" he asked and looked around to check for the boy.
"Jef? Oh right. He's over there, I was with him lately then I came here to check up on you." Pointed the sweet girl at a certain direction with a grin.
"Come on! I'll take you to him." She added excitedly and asked his brother to put her down.

"So Jef…" said Jack's mom and held your son's hand. "What do you think of the cake?" she added.
Jef smiled politely and responded, "It's beautiful! I think Pippa would like it." He commented with a light laugh.
"Really? I'm glad." Said the woman sweetly.
Instantaneously, Jef felt incredible pain in his chest. He doesn't know what's wrong and he knelt in the snow while fighting it. Jack's mother, who was also Jef's grandmother, panicked and rubbed the boy's back gently. Jef can see her lips moving and talking to him but can't hear a single word.
Suddenly, he saw the bright, blue sky turning white. He squinted and looked at it closer. It's the same light that chased you and him in the first place. He tried to warn his grandmother but she seemed not to notice the shining light behind her.

"Isn't this fun!" shouted Jack cheerfully and flew around in circles while Jef was behind him. The young boy was not scared and didn't care about the danger. All he wanted was to have fun. Jef joined the winter spirit and yelled merrily.
"WOOHOO!" said Jef and laughed with gaiety.
"We're almost there!" said Jack and swooped down.
"Woah!" said his son and buried his face in the young guardian's back.
Jack landed both of them in the snow safe and sound. Your son jumped excitedly and asked the winter spirit to do it again.
The young guardian chuckled and stood at the top of his staff and stared at the young boy. Jef stopped and looked around. He noticed this place. Their at the lake. The lake where he played his flute while Pippa and the others were watching him yesterday.
"No… that's not yesterday." He whispered and glimpsed at Jack. "Uhm.." he stammered and got the winter spirit's attention.

You brace yourself for impact.
But it doesn’t come.
You feel something catch you, slowing down the pace of your fall. You slowly open your eyes, daring to relax.
The wind whirls around your feet and shins, providing a cushion between you and the hard ground.
It slowly sets you down, your feet softly making contact with the earthen floor.
It leaves your feet and swirls up and around you in a single, long, invisible line, making you giggle as your clothes dance slightly from the wind. You’re reminded of a cat’s tail wrapping around its owner’s leg as it purrs, longing to be pet and loved.
It leaves the rest of your body and rubs against your cheek, feeling very much like a delicate hand resting on your face in a final farewell. Then, it departs.

Jack blinked a couple of times, his brow furrowed. He kept his staff aimed right at the man’s chest.
“‘The Doctor?’” he repeated warily.
“That’s me. Hello!” the man said, waving his hand in greeting. His toothy smile hadn’t faded in the least.
The man turned his gaze skyward, raising his eyebrows and turning the corners of his thin lips down into a half-pout, saying to nobody but himself, “Oh, not too often I get that one. It’s usually ‘Doctor who?’” He redirected his attention to Jack. “No, no. That’s it. Just ‘The Doctor.’”
Jack raised an eyebrow. Was this guy serious?
Him, with his headful of brown hair fluffed up in the middle and mildly spiked, falling slightly into his forehead, reminding Jack of some sort of cockatoo. And those sideburns! Him, with the thick eyebrows, thin upper lip, slightly pudgie

A hallway and a pair of automatic sliding doors later, Jack found himself standing on an elevated walkway, the wall to his right giving way to a giant window.
Once again, he found himself in pure shock. He nearly dropped his staff.
He definitely wasn’t on Earth anymore.
Because there it was, its blue-and-green face staring right at him from beyond the glass, nothing but a black void and distant stars as its backdrop.
He was in space. And this. This…place he was in. It was a space ship. And those metal men.
To add to the situation, he had no idea what point in time that The Doctor had stuck him in.
Jack could feel his head swimming. He had to hold onto a nearby railing to prevent himself from losing balance. It didn’t help that was still recovering from the electrocution.
He had been around as technology advanced, been there for the first space shuttle launch. Watched along with millions of others as the first man

The last thing Jack remembered was The Doctor screaming out his name.
He blinked several times, squinting as his eyes adjusted to the dim lighting. There was a painfully tight knot in his chest. His head felt numb and yet throbbed all the same. His entire body felt as if someone had taken each individual muscle, pulled it past its maximum capacity and let it snap carelessly back into place. Did he even have the ability to move anymore?
Only one way to find out.
He willed himself to roll onto his side, slinging his left hand over to his right side to help prop himself up. His arms were lead, his torso an immoveable block of concrete. His legs were completely limp.
His vision blurred and wavered.
Even so, slowly but surely, the tightness left him, feeling returning to his nerves as his hands pushed against the cold steel floor. He sat up successfully, his sight gifted back to him.
Where was he?
He rubbed his temple.
A distant memory played back in his head. O

But then, as quickly as it had come, it was gone.
Jack leaned forward as much as he dared, his lips pursed as he scanned the night sky for any sign of the odd object. In search of a less-obstructed view, he leapt down softly from his perch on the tree branch and onto the pond below, the still water freezing instantly beneath his feet, a thin layer of swirling ice sprouting from wherever he stepped.
His search proving fruitless, he shrugged and turned around, a quick bout of Winter wind lifting him from his place on the water and setting him down on the nearby land.
It was his eyes playing tricks, after all.
A subtle change in the air brought a smile to his face. He knew what that change was. He could just feel the clouds forming in the atmosphere, see all of the new patterns for snowflakes in his mind’s eye. It was already Spring, the pond no longer capable of remaining frozen and what little snow was left dotting the earth’s face like strange li

Time stands still.
Here is a character that is me. In every way and form, me. We are so much the same. Me. That is, if I had spiky hair that was white as freshly-fallen snow, command over winter phenomena, and mesmerizing blue eyes. Oh, and one other thing that I am not. I’d have to be a boy. But that is where the differences end between me and him.
My Jack Frost.
He went unseen, unheard for three hundred years. I haven’t had quite that lengthy existence, but it has felt like an eternity. Nobody believing in him. In me. To try to reach out and be heard only to be walked right through like nothing but air. And yet, to continue to assist others and bring them goodness—bring them happiness and fun—despite the fact that it would not change my invisibility even though I secretly hoped it would, despite the implications it had for me. That’s us. Alone in the world.

It was getting uncomfortable.
My mother and I had just shared lunch at a local burger restaurant. It was delicious. The food, I mean. The conversation was far less…flavorful. Nothing aside from the usual check-up on school that happened every time I saw her.
We had nothing else we could talk about, anyway.
I rolled down the car window. A small smile found its way onto my face as a soothing breeze caressed my cheek, making my hair dance ever so slightly as it forced the sweat threatening to form on my brow to retreat.
My mom repeated her question. She was getting impatient.
“What do you want to go do?”
“Well,” I began, still staring out the window, “I thought we were going to go see a movie.”
She rolled her eyes. I could tell that a movie was far from her first option. She wanted to do something that involved more conversation, more “bonding,” something more out-of-the-house-to-enjoy-the-weather. Not sitting side-by-side in a pitch

Within a few minutes Emma found herself sitting in a rather large room next to Jack. He was locked in a conversation with Santa, or ‘North’, sitting crossed legged on a tall stool, and she sat on a smaller stool on his left side. Since he was dong all the talking and she didn’t really have any clue what to do, she just looked around the room. Well, half of it was a room. The other half was more like a cave, carved into the ice mountain.
Candles sat in notches on the icy walls, making the chamber seem like it was glowing. A large window sat at the back of the room, but all that was visible was the white snowstorm. Clear toys sat where scattered about randomly: Fire-trucks, cranes, cars, planes, and many other different playthings she didn’t know the names of.
There was something about the room she couldn’t quite put her finger on though. She felt so cozy next to the fire, and so safe even though the window showed the turmoil going on outside
Rise of a Guardian: Chapter twenty-oneJack woke up in North’s infirmary, his head pounding. It was so hot and stuffy, he felt like he was going to pass out again. He tried to sit up so he could see his surroundings better, but he grunted in pain at the effort. He looked down and saw that his sweatshirt was gone, and he now had multiple wraps around his torso. Hot cloths where draped over his feet, hands, chest, forehead, and judging by his discomfort he was laying on a few. He picked one up and stared at it in disgust. Jack lived in the cold, and to be covered in boiling hot rags was like inhumane torture. Then he noticed something was horribly wrong. His hands and toes where starch white and colder than ice.
“What the crap?” He whispered as he tried to remember what had happened to him. Then it all came back to him, like water pouring into a sinking ship. He sank down onto his pillows as the memories all resurfaced. Sno

Jack Frost was bored.
It wasn't something new, he was bored a lot, especially in the warmer months. It was the middle of November, and it was still pretty warm outside and so he couldn't manage to work up a good snowstorm yet.
He sighed and rode the winds to Jamie's house, even though he knew Jamie couldn't play today. Jamie had the flu, and so did some of his other friends. All the others where on fall break vacations.
Jack slowed down and approached the boys 2nd floor window. He peered inside of his room, checking for the boy. The walls where covered in tons of crayon pictures of him and Jack and other guardians together. One was of tooth smiling brightly and one was of little baby tooth (there where next to each other, naturally). There was Bunnymund hiding eggs and one of North with his swords in the air. There where a few of sandy even. But most of them where of Jack.
Jack smiled. He could tell that there where lots of new ones. Jamie must be keeping busy while he's st

The icy water stung Jack's skin and penetrated through his clothes as soon as he dived in. He could barely see anything in the murky darkness below the thick sheet of ice on the surface. Then a bright flash of blue came from directly below him, illuminating what was going on in the depths of the lake.
He looked down and saw the girl, locked in fierce underwater combat with the nightmare sand that had broken the ice. Her necklace glowed with blue energy from the last blast of power. But her own energy was fading fast as the cold water drew the small amount of heat from her body.
She was thrashing and kicking the long back tendrils of black powder which where trying to get a firm hold of her and drag her to the bottom. Jack swam to her as fast as he could, but she was so deep down the only light he could see was the glow from her necklace. Her hair had fallen out of its bun, and now swirled around her face.
The black sand swirled around her, grabbing onto her legs and a

Emma was holding on to Jack's hand for dear life. The immortal boy in front of her had miraculously managed to get her off the ground, and now he was dragging her up to the altitude of an airplane. She hadn't flown so long, let alone this high up or this fast.
Jack pulled her through a large cloud, and the mist tickled her nose and made her wonder how high up they where. It was fun when they where lower, but now they where thousands of feet up and it felt like her own fear was squeezing the life right out of her.
She gulped and looked down to see how high Jack had managed to drag her. They where at least 20,000 feet up now, and going higher by the second. The houses and cars below looked like the kinds children would get on Christmas or at the toy store, only blanketed in bright new snow. Every time she saw a small doll house or a toy car she was happy, because they made children happy. But the sight of these small houses and cars filled her with nausea and made her want

Jack looked around for anyone, or any sign that anyone had been here at this spot. Then he heard it. The most beautiful, crystal clear, angelic voice he had ever heard. He couldn't see the source of the singer, so he just listened to what she was signing:
"This is my winter song to you.
The storm is coming soon,
It rolls in from the sea..."
Jack realized the voice was coming from the ice tree. He willed a strong breeze to come and take him there, quietly.
"My voice a beacon in the night,
My words will be your light,
To carry you to me..."
Her voice trembled with a dainty vibrato. Her voice was pure and sweet. He was halfway there when her beautiful chorus started.
"Is love alive?

He slowed as he approached a tree close to the glassy tree.
"I still believe in sunny days
The seasons may change
But life will find a way."
The closer he got to the tree he was able to see the details he couldn't from afar. The ice wrapped around the tree had a beaut

The open forest under Jack made him feel venerable, and pushed him to fly harder. He flew faster then he had ever flown before, the world around him a greyish white blur. Something was wrong, but what it was he had no idea. He just needed to get to Nightlight, soon.
After the countless hours flying together that night they had learned it was pointless to stop and make sure that they hadn’t lost each other. They always managed to stay together, and little check ups just made them go slower.
That was what worried him; it could be a long time before Nightlight would stop to see if they were together if he stopped at all. But for now, they were both separated and venerable until Nightlight realized they were apart. But if he was acting like this compass and he wasn’t thinking straight, then how long would it take?
After a moment to Jack’s relief he exited the vast woodland and entered a small town. He couldn’t recognize it in the deep snowstorm; be

Pitch galloped through the White forest on one of his many NightMares, his brow furrowed in worry. It had been nearly 45 minutes; Snow should be done with Jack by now. Had she been injured by him, or captured? He had left her alone only because he knew that Jack wouldn’t have the guts to hurt her, even though it wasn’t really her anymore. He would have gone harder on him then her. And besides, he needed to go and grab something from his lair. But was Frost tougher than he thought?
Pitch could see the clearing up ahead, and he yanked on the reins until the NightMare stopped. The horse whinnied in protest but halted, and Pitch dismounted into the deep snow.
The effort made his muscles ache. He was so fatigued from having to keep Snow under his control. It had been hard enough to get her to give in to the nightmare sand. But now he had to beat down her soul every minute so she would stay under the influence of the sand, but her willpower was much stronger t

Jack soared through the nippy, winter morning air. He laughed as the coldness washed over his face, making him feel blissful and free. His arms where extened on either side of him, almost like he was embracing the beautiful array of color from the new sunrise. In one hand he held his long staff, and in the other a dark blue, lacy scarf that flapped in the wind along side him.
He knew that he had to hurry if he was going to find the girl he was looking for. With luck she would still be by the frozen lake. But she seemed to be on the move, so he was moving quickly. He didn’t want Pitch to find her before he was able too.
After a few more minutes of reckless flying he reached his destenation. He flew lower to the ground, so he could spot her more easily. He flew past the Ice Tree, which was beginning to melt in the morning sun. Large icicles where forming from the branches already, drops of water running off.

Jack Frost awoke to the sounds of winter birds serenading the new born sun. It was a wonderful way to wake up from a night of sweet, undisturbed dreaming. No nightmares, no noises from traffic of the city; It was a dream come true.
As soon as he opened his eyes he was met with an extreme display of color spread all across the morning sky. It was visible between the gaps in the foliage of his sleeping tree, and it shone down on the snow giving it a pinkish hue. Jack stretched his long arms as he let out a yawn. He hadn't been this refreshed in a long time!
He climbed down from his tree and floated down to the ground, with the help of the wind. Then he walked to the edge of the lake, it tired him to fly everywhere.
And today was his lazy day.
Jack leaned on his staff and stared at the lake, and then the sky. He closed his eyes for a moment and felt a breeze. This place always brought him peace.

Aurora had slept out in the open, upon the Daycare's short, well-kept grass. She still wasn't entirely comfortable around Eric, and with all the upset her story had caused the day before, she wasn't sure if any Pokemon would still want her around. Uncurling herself, she arose and stretched her stiffened muscles. Glancing at where Eric's Pokemon slept, Aurora blinked away a seemingly random tear; strangely enough, the one she felt worst about leaving was Frostpelt. True, it had been awkward when she'd met him, but there had also been a small voice inside her at that moment that had told her that the timid male Glaceon was the solution to that unknown, empty void she'd felt. Then there had been that dream he'd described. It had to mean something...

Rustfur leapt up and spun around, teeth bared. It wasn't the new presence that startled him, but rather his mate's quick and sudden movement.
The silhouette set down its mouthful and spoke. "Easy, Rustfur. Sapphire is the last Pokemon I'd want to get into a fight with."
"Sorry, Swiftclaw. I guess I've been a little jumpy lately." Rustfur let the fur along his spine lie flat once more.

The Flareon blinked, her thoughts broken. Her Leafeon mother pushed four red and yellow berries toward her with a graceful brown paw. "What berries are these, Mom?" she asked, staring at the round berries.
"These are Leppa berries." Sapphire explained, starting on the five berries at her own paws.
"What do they taste like?" Rosalyn sniffed them, not being able to distinguish any particular flavor by scent alone. "Are they spicy?" Rosalyn had always thought it odd that she enjoyed spicy berries as much as she did, especially with her gentle nature.
"A little." her father answered, before starting to work on his second berry.
If Dad's eating them, they must be more than just spicy... she reasoned, knowing her father's love of sweet berries.

Despite this, he had promised Saffron that he would carry her back to the Daycare, and that's what he intended to do.
From her comfortable position on Ash's back, Saffron now and again threw the odd glance at him. Whenever she would do this, she would only do so for a short time, then quickly look away, blushing under her yellow fur. She was glad that he'd offered to carry her back; her leg sti
