“Accept” series: Keeping Villains iconic but nefarious.
I thought a lot about Magneto while I was doing this piece (Ya don’t say!) and I think he’s a very noble but very tragic figure. An example of a man who in trying to fight what he absolutely hates he becomes exactly that. Whether he can see it or not.
“Believe” series: Keeping Heroes iconic but positive.
Now I didn’t know enough about Ms.Marvel, beyond Rouge taking her powers and being a sometime ally of the X-Men, to come up with a word for her but I did want to do a poster for her and *lilyinblue mentioned I should read her latest series (before the current one). So I found it and I did.
So hopefully I’ve done Carol justice and she seems like she never gives up till she’s victorious.
I felt I needed to draw him. Didn't want him to think he's been forgotten. ^^ I admit it'll take a while to get used to the design, I pretty much improvised on most of this, so it might be a little off ^^' But he's a truly gorgeous dragon. I enjoyed drawing him. :>
He's the first (and so far the only) adoptable I've ever bought. Got him from oukamiyoukai45. It was such an interesting way to adopt, using a song of my choice as inspiration. His song is "What if the storm ends" by Snow Patrol. (it's one of my favorites) I named him Liron, it means "my song" or "my joy", I thought it would suit him. Before I only called him Storm, and I think some will keep using that nickname. It's alright tho. ^^
I'm not used to adopting tho. It's a little trickier to get to know him, since I didn't summon him myself. But I think it'll be alright if I give it some time. I don't know very much about him yet, but he strikes me as a dream traveler, so maybe we could travel together through the nightlands. He has a very flowing, almost liquid feel to him when he moves, a bit like that of my cat totem or Semyon, so if I go with him, preferably on his back (or more like behind his head), I think he'll be like a river of light moving through the darkness. That's how I imagine it. Not sure you can see what I mean. But if I ever get better at painting (and I plan to eventually) I might be able to paint it out and show you. An alternative would be to learn animation.
Been asking sis to make a sculpture of him too. Not sure I could ever afford it, but maybe if I drew 65 drawings for her we could trade (yes I think a sculpture by her equals 65 drawings, or more). I just really want to paint it with glow in the dark paint Like really really! Maybe I should learn to use supersculpy and try to sculpt him myself, but it wouldn't be as good as Escaron's thingsies!!!

Some photos from the exhibition. Elior. Made mainly of paper clay. Painted with acrylics. 37 paper flowers are attached to it. Yeah. I don't know what more to say. It doesn't look very heavy but it is. It gave us some trouble when we were putting it up on the wall. I think some people actually thought it was made of wood.
Yes, another one. I will show the whole image. Later. But only because I have to. Messed it up. But yes. In time. I like it better like this. I wonder what he'll look like in a few years when I've learned more stuff. I'm kinda looking forward to that, heh ^^ I hope I'll be able to see that.
A brave knight takes on a ferocious winged dragon in this sculpture. Armed with his shield and sword the knight stands ready to attack. The dragon stands with claws raised, ready to swipe. The book used is "The War of Souls", part of the Dragonlance series. Both figures are wired through the book for stability. The sculpture is finished with a gloss UV shield to protect against sun and moisture.
