Invader Zim ZADR: Chains and Bite Marks (Ch. 3)I awoke the next morning, body feeling numb from the previous night. . . I sat up slowly, to find myself on the floor where I had blanked out in blissful exhaustion.
I looked around, to find Zim a few feet away, laying on the floor, asleep. I figured his body must’ve blinked out to. . .
I crawled over to him, anger from the previous day completely gone. I examined him, in his dozing state, and what I observed made me sick to my stomach.
Zim’s wrists were badly bruised, most likely because of how recklessly I grabbed them, how tight I held them into place. He was shivering possibly because he had slept on the cold floor all night long. . .
I carefully lifted his head, careful to not wake him, and placed it on my lap. Why had I done that? I’m no better than him, actually compared, mine was worse. . .
I sighed, “Zim? Wake up. . .”
Zim’s eyes opened slowly, then he sat up, pain filled expression on his slender face, “D-Dib?” He seemed to have

Zim seemed to ignore my question, and instead walked passed me, to a book shelf. He picked out a book, and opened it, apparently scanning the contents.
He began to hum lightly as he looked tough the pages. I rolled my eyes, and sat on the floor, that’s when I noticed the pain. I hissed a bit, and looked down at my torso. It was covered in bite marks, and scratches. .
Dib whimpered, “Z-Zim?”
“What do you want? Stupid big-headed-fool-boy-creature. . .” Zim sighed, as he continued with his reading.
“Where did these bites marks come from?” I asked worriedly, hoping Zim would bother answering.
“From me. . .” Zim said frown on his face, yet never looking up from his book.
“How about the scratches?” I asked, surprised.
“Zim did that to.” Zim answered, still never looking up from his book.

Once he was finally done, he began to use some of the instruments on me. . . He jabbed me with syringes, and did blood tests.
“I’m sorry it’s taking so long. . . Zim’s computer isn’t used to human blood and disease. . .” Zim had apologized at least several times.
I nodded telling him, that it was okay. While waiting I decided to ask, “What exactly happened while I was blanked out yesterday?”
Zim looked at me worriedly, “If Zim tells you, do you promise not to hurt him?”
“I promise!” I exclaimed, shocked that he would think I would hurt him after all of his help.
He sat next to me, and sighed, “You came into my laboratory, and you were angry, sad even. . . Zim was confused by your behavior. . . So Zim decided to help. . .

I ran out of the room, and found Zim, who was still sitting in the chair, reading that stupid book. I grabbed his wrists, and made him stand. The book landed on the floor with a thud, as I shoved him agents the wall.
I held his wrists on the wall, to keep him from retaliating. “What the Hell is on my back?!” I screamed at him.
Zim flinched at my screaming and had a very saddened expression on his, usually smirk face, “Z-Zim doesn’t know w-what your talking about.”
I growled, tightening my grip, “Yes you fucking do!”
“Dib-beast, stop your hurting Zim!” Zim cried.
“I don’t care! What happened? Why can’t I remember?!” I yelled over his pleas.
Zim whimpered, “Because you did not want to remember. . . You told Zim to help you forget. . .”
I now finally snapped, I felt like hitting Zim, but instead I thought of a wo

I sat up in my bed, then I stood from my bed, and grabbed my glasses from the end table, then looked down at myself, to find my shirt on, like always. . . To find it was the one Zim had taken supposedly.
Was it a dream? I pressed this question, over and over, trying to get my thoughts in order.
I quickly became certain that it was, that the horror of that forgetful day, was all false. I frowned, remembering this ‘dream’.
“It felt so real. . .” I sighed as I walked over to my dresser, fiddling with the clothes in the drawers.
Just then I heard Gaz bang on my door yelling, “You better be getting ready, or I’m fucking leaving you!”
“Almost ready!” I yelled back, I hated that she was my ride.
I quickly got ready, grabbed my bag, and ran outside into the cold of the new fall morning. I sat in Gaz’s car, and nodded at her, to

My head hurt badly, and my stomach groaned with pain. . . Worse of all, the back of my throat burned, making me rasp and cough.
I had a lot of coughing fits, and it made my stomach hurt worse with each sickening purge that came after the coughs.
I covered my head with my pillow around ten o’ clock to sleep, and succeeded after what seemed like a lifetime. . .
I woke drenched in sweat, yet I felt so cold. . . So alone. . .
I couched into my hand, violently. I felt something warm and stick splatter onto my fist, and I opened my eyes worriedly. Upon examining my hand, I had found something I greatly feared. . . I had coughed up blood. . .

I was upright, my hands chained to the wall. My glasses were off, like my shirt. I felt cold, I felt afraid.
I could hardly make out faint shapes in the purple room I was trapped in. Soon enough though, I saw a green figure walk towards me.
“Z- Zim?” I tried to say it strongly, but failed, it came out as a utter whimper.
It was Zim I could tell, as he came near me. His face almost touching mine, he grabbed my chin, and made me stare him in the eye, “Yes, I am Zim.”
Zim had an evil glint in his magenta eyes, they glimmered with a lust that I could not pin point. . .
“Now Dib-smelly, what do you remember last?” Zim asked me, after staring into my eyes for a moment.
“I r-remember walking d-down the road. . .” I quivered, his hand was surprisingly gentle on my face.
“Then?” Asked Zim, I could tell he wanted to hear the whole story.

The transmissions screen, in which he used to talk to the tallest on, was broken, and dirty with dust and some sort of mashed potatoes.
The floor was now covered in batter, flour, and other things GIR carried around with him. Zim stood, no longer too much in shock to walk around.
He placed his three fingered hand on the screen and a lone tear began to run down his cheek. He stayed like that for a moment before tearing away his hand. The memories in his mind assaulted him with guilt sadness and regret. He could not believe what he had gone though, for just a petty lie.
"Zim needs no one." He said to himself, "Zim will show them. ZIM will show them that he isn't inferior, isn't insane!" He screamed.
He then kicked a wall and sat back down on the ground, rocking back and forth s

In biology Gaz sat flustered, and completely unwilling to continue, when Zim sat beside of her.
"Gaz-beast, can I the almighty ZIM, sit next to you?" He asked.
Gaz looked at him and shrugged, "Whatever."
Zim smiled, but his mind was in other places. He was wondering why he loved being so close to her. He couldn't help but sit next to her, and he felt so happy when he did. Zim felt a sort of longing when she was not near him. He did not understand why, but he did not question it.
The teacher walked in, "Hello class, I am Mr.

It was now early in the morning, and Zim had been rudely awakened by the sound of a new transmission. Even if Zim did not need to sleep, he still enjoyed doing so. He grumbled Irken curses as he answered; he saluted quickly and yawned, "Hello my Tallest!"
"Hello Zim." Red looked at him curiously, "Did I wake you?"
"Well yes, but I do not require sleep. You know that." Zim pointed out, proud of himself.
"Yes well Zim, we did not get to finish our conversation earlier." Red paused, "Zim we have sent you a present. She will be staying with you until she can function on her own."
"She? What do you mean by she?" Asked Zim caught off guard.
"We are sending you a potential invader known as Arc." Red continued.
"Age group?" Asked Zim.
"Smeet." Answered Red.
Zim considered this for a moment before asking, "Her PAK?"
"It has a bug. She is indeed defective, but I think you can handle her." Red lied.
Red coughed into his fists, "Well also she will look a little like you, she is closely related."

Zim and Gaz sat quietly, listening to the chilling beeps and hums of Zim's base. Zim then stood and headed for the kitchen, "Want anything Gaz-friend?"
"Yeah make me a sandwich." Demanded Gaz.
Zim nodded and slowly began to work on her sandwich, but his mind was in other places. "If Gaz-beast can see his affection, then could Dib-love?" Zim thought.
He finished making Gaz's meal, and carried it to the human. She ate it quickly, and then in a flash there were only a couple of crumbs left over.
Zim flushed, "So is Dib-Stink well uh- interested in Zim?"
"I guess you can say that." Answered Gaz.
Zim smiled triumphantly, and then he frowned realizing he had a transmission, "I have to take this." He then stood and walked over to the television, where he told the computer to start said transmission.
Zim saluted, "Hello, my Tallest!"
"Yes, hello Zim," Greeted Purple, "how goes your mission?"
"It goes well." Zim lied; he had given up on his mission years ago, but never had the heart to tell the

So here it is! I am finally working on this for those of you who've been so patient. I am working on making this flow a bit better so please excuse its immense length since I have been adding a lot. I hope you guys enjoy chapter one and the rest of the story once I can get around to posting it! I am writing Dib's parts and Invader-Neo is writing Zim's. I haven't edited much of hers because she writes like a boss!
Everyone in the skool building knew it was a scientific law that when there was Zim, there was always oddities and inevitably, screaming. These screams were usually on resulting in either anger and denial at anything that could have been brought to his attention that he felt were threatening to his position and mission, or from absolutely anything that came out of his arch enemy's, Dib's, mouth. And both these oddities and screams were the very things that defined what Zim was to these humans as much as his PAK defined him as an Irken. He had

Upon realizing there was no sign of the Irken even making an attempt to get into his house, Dib felt it were safer to be in there now than outside so he rushed towards it in quite a hurry. Once he had burst in the door, he slammed it furiously behind him and turned to lock the door for an extra sense of security. Hopefully Gaz had a key to the house so she wouldn't bother him with her obnoxious banging as she did quite often.
After locking the door, Dib turned his back to it and leaned against it, closing his eyes and taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself after all of the stress he had endured that day. Unfortunately, he could only think of Zim as he stood there, images of that haunting grin flashing in his memory.
The boy let out a groan of both agony and frustration as he headed towards the downstairs bathroom, pulling out a first aid kit to bandage his wounds before heading up to his bedroom hoping that some relaxation would help to clear his mind. Of cours

Soon all of Zim's tremors just seemed to halt. He pulled himself back up onto all fours, extending his head up with his neck still cocked at an awkward angle so he could see Dib's face. He parted his lips into the grin again, beginning to screech out in a single laughter with that eerie 'e' sound again.
The sight of that haunting grin seemed to paralyze the boy as he slowly let himself down to the floor, wrapping himself in a fetal position as he rocked himself very stiffly as if to comfort himself. Violent shivers also shook him as the cackle rung in his ears as they only intensified the dread he was already feeling.
Zim slowly began to drag himself over to him, seeing him as wounded prey now. His limbs still had trouble taking turns, looking even more like a creature in dire need of an exorcism.
Dib's eyes expanded as the other drew closer to him. He didn't blink now since in his mind, blinking only made him made him more vulnerable than he already was, even though he wo

Dib stared at Zim wide-eyed in panic as he approached him slowly, backing up a few clumsy steps before bumping into the fence behind him. He looked over his shoulder and eye it, dreading the fact that he had to climb the damned thing if he wanted to avoid the same fate his teacher had met.
After glancing back at Zim another time, seeing that he was getting closer to him quicker than he thought, he turned and faced the fence and backed up a few steps. He drew a shaky breath before running at it and making a leap as he got close to the fence, grunting as he hit it and started his desperate climb.
A screech of obvious rage exploded from the hobbling being that was trailing far behind his escaping form. “IB!!!!” The name practically pierced through the air as wild eyes, even through those contacts, locked onto him frighteningly and his arms outstretched in a dire want to rip the other from the rusty chained fence.
The screech shook the boy, causing his grip to sli

After several minutes of just staring at the computer in complete terror, Dib turned to the platform and headed towards it. He shut off the lights on his way out, the computer’s bright monitor illuminating the room now. His head turned to look back at it, nodding once as if to thank it before stepping onto the plate in front of him. The platform rose again for him to take him back upstairs into the wreckage. Now he had an answer as to what happened and why Zim was behaving like he was. The better question was, would he regret seeing that though; seeing the complete self-destruction of his now former worst enemy and now current worst nightmare?
The thing that made seeing that video so traumatizing was that he had actually grown to some what care about Zim. Yes, they were enemies both out to stop each other at every turn, but before Zim, he didn’t have a reason to get up every day and go to school. Zim was everything he had always wanted; an alien that had found

Dib walked down the sidewalk appearing more disturbed than he had since this had started. The lingering taste of Zim’s blood seemed to keep him in an almost trance like state as he walked almost unnaturally down the sideswalk. Of course, the boy’s unsettling demeanor attracted more stares from the people around him.
People went from being distasteful and scowling at him, to almost frightened and concerned for the boy. He'd been progressing so quickly to lunacy lately that some people believed it was time he saw someone about it.
This thought of going to see someone though seemed to be out of the question in Dib’s mind. He knew a doctor would only blame it on schizophrenia or just plain insanity and not even try to believe that something was actually going on. He would only be prescribed some drug to try and rid him of ‘the images in his head’.
Perhaps that's what he needed to stay sane though; receive some counseling and a bit of medicin

Upon arriving home on that quiet, eerie night, Dib was relieved to find that no insane Irken had followed him. He was alone now, and he had the feeling he would have a peaceful night in contrast to the others he had experienced.
As Dib had made his way into the house and up to his room, the lingering smell of day old blood hit him. It wasn’t quite as harsh and foul as the pile of junk found in Zim’s closet. However, it was enough to make the boy groan in both agony and nausea, but the smell didn’t seem to stop him from hobbling to his bed and allowing himself to collapse upon it.
At least he was safe for now, and tonight would be one of the only nights open for him to sleep without much worry. Zim was still too weak to come for him, and the computer was keeping him indoors for tonight.
As Dib lay on his bed with his eyes pealed wide open, he felt himself almost grow drowsy as time proceeded. He even fell into a deep and much needed sleep within fifteen

Dib remained in an almost trance-like state for a few moments as he recalled a few memories of Zim. He took another deep breath before speaking again in a quiet tone. “Zim... He was pretty interesting.”
"Yes? What is his personality like?" The doctor questioned, beginning to write again at the others decision to elaborate more on the subject.
Dib slowly looked back to the doctor, shifting in his seat as he considered the question. “Well, he was loud and obnoxious and would often insult the human race whenever he had the chance to. But, he was very proud of his race and his leaders. He made every attempt to take over Earth even if he failed every time. But I liked that about him...” Dib’s voice trailed off some as his gaze lowered. “I admired that about him actually..”
Dr.Gaul hummed and nodded his head a bit. "Well, I can only chalk this up as more schizophrenia from how you say this. You seem very fond of this little delusion as

Resolve came in the form of first sunlight beaming through the shattered hole that was at one point a window. It immediately melted away the shadows and extinguished the coolness that the night had brought. Everything was completely visible now and revealed to the paranoid human.
However, even after the sun had come up, Dib took a while to convince himself that there wasn't actually anything there, and that it had all just been a crazy delusion in his head. After several more minutes of watching everything around him, he had finally convinced himself that he was alone now, which actually relaxed him and made him realize how tired he actually was. It was too late to try and sleep now though since he had to get ready for another dreadful day of school.
He didn't try too hard, though, as he decided to stay in the bloodied and torn cloths from the night before and only ran his hands over his hair in an attempt to smooth it out. He was far too tired and stressed to be concerned

As Dib stood outside of his home, he couldn't help the overwhelming loneliness that washed over him. After the neighbours reaction, he highly doubted anyone would take him seriously. Not like they had taken him seriously before anyway.
On top of the extreme aloneness, the boy was feeling a massive amount of paranoia. His house had proven to be just as dangerous a place to be now, and after seeing how easily and quickly Zim could infiltrate it, he realized he would never feel at peace inside of it. He would always be looking around himself, checking to make sure he was truly alone.
Dib took only small, slow steps towards the house now, his eyes flicking everywhere as he scanned for any threats. He was quite jumpy now though, so when a small leaf flew by him he jumped backwards a step and let out a high pitched scream. He began to breathe rapidly until realizing it was just a leaf before taking a deep breath and staring forward again, his eyes continuing to scan his environm

The room suddenly felt cold. Zim's body went stiff and he felt a pained, sinking feeling in his chest as he was abruptly cut off from his leaders. He had heard these words before, from a varying range of other Irkens as time had passed and even from The Almighty Tallest themselves on a few occasions. But he never believed a word of it. He thought back to his existence evaluation. The Tallest had pushed his date up a couple of decades. He didn't want to come to the realization that they did that with malicious intent then. His loyalty to his leaders burned strong. The only reason he even lived through his evaluation is because his PAK was too much for the Control Brains to handle. Thinking back, he didn't realize to the full extent what was happening to him or the Brains. Just that the Brains declared him the greatest Invader ever. He hadn't thought then that it was because of his faulty PAK overwhelming them. Zim was unsure of why th

It was a long walk, but he didn't mind as it usually gave him time to clear his head after his therapy sessions. It was almost completely dark out already. Dib always enjoyed being out during the night. He gazed dreamily at the stars as he walked. He was thinking about the few times that he has been out in space, thinking about the vastness of it all, and thinking about that tiny Irken who came from there; that Irken who had changed his life in many ways.
Had he met Zim under different circumstances, Dib would have loved to learn about the Irken and his race through Zim himself, but unfortunately Zim was only there for one purpose to destroy the planet that Dib so loved. "We'll have to figure something else out." Zim continued, ignoring Dib's comment.
"What do you suggest? That's the only way out of this room from the inside." Dib replied.

"And how are you going to get said disguise? You're in here." Dib said.

"Please, Zim. I don't want to-"
"Tell Zim. Now." The alien glared at him.
"I-I did it." Dib answered, still staring down to the floor.
"You're lying." Zim said quietly, narrowing his eyes. Dib shook his head.
"Why would you do that?" The alien asked. Was this a normal thing for humans to do?
"I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't have control over my body or my thoughts. It's like something took over me." Dib replied.

Dib peaked into the door to see if Gaz was in the living room. As usual, she was sitting on the couch with her head buried in her Gameslave. He turned to face Zim.
"This is kind of weird, but would you be willing to meet me in my room through the window?" He asked. He wasn't comfortable with anyone knowing Zim was there, although he wasn't sure why. Probably because they've always been enemies. Zim simply shrugged his shoulders and made his way around the back where Dib's bedroom window was. He used his spider legs to get up on the second level and made his way in. It wasn't the first time he's snuck into Dib's room. Although the only times he's ever snuck into Dib's room were times when he was doing something evil.
Zim sat down on Dib's bed and waited for him to enter the room. He came in toting his book bag. It looked heavy. Dib set it down on the ground with a loud thud and proceeded to get his textbooks out.

"I ran into him last week on my way home from here," Dib started. He was sitting on that uncomfortable couch again. He was about halfway through his therapy session before the doctor brought Zim up this time.
"Go on." The doctor said. She looked amused. Dib was sure that this has become a joke for her over time. Dib sighed.
"He seemed upset about something. I tried to talk to him, but he wouldn't tell me what was on his mind." Dib continued. He was quickly ready to move onto another topic, but he knew that she would continue to pry at this.

Zim's head lay against Dib's chest as he traced his claw around the human's scar.
"You humans use your hearts as a symbol of affection, right?" Zim asked. He recalled the celebration of Valentine's Day and the exchange of heart-shaped meat slabs.
"I guess, why do you ask?" Dib asked. The question seemed to come out of absolutely nowhere.
"Your scar." Zim said.
Dib looked down at him.
"Isn't your heart here?" Zim asked as he placed his hand on the left side of Dib's chest.
"This scar starts at your heart, and it ends on the Irken symbol." Zim said.
"What's your point?"

Earth was conquered because of me. Everything I worked for now gone. How am I the only human to survive that night? That night I watched as Earth caught of fire. People were running from Irkens that had lasers on them. I was holding Gaz waiting to be killed. She wept on me in my room. Everything was gonna change when one small defective Irken walked in.
I cling to Gaz not trust this one Irken in particular, glaring at him.
"Now, Dib-human, why glare at your savior? Zim had to run all over town looking for you. Do you want to die?" He asked arms crossed. "Cause Zim can kill you right now."
"OF COURSE I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" I cried. "But because of you," I stabbed a finger at the Irken just to show the blame. "I'm gonna have to!"
"Zim is here not to kill the Dib unless he honestly wants Zim too. Zim is here to save you and only you. Now you can die like the rest of the human race or you can come with Zim and he will protect you from this." Zim explained.

There was a knock on the door. Zim set his work down and went to answer it. Gir trotted after him. Zim was surprised at who was there.
It was the purple-haired girl who had been sitting near Dib. Gaz, was it? She stared upward, appearing to be trying to think of the right words. "Sorry about my brother earlier," she said, "He's really weird like that."

Chapter 2: The New Kid
It was an average, boring day in school. Ms. Bitters lectured, yelled at people, along with all the other usual things. It was average as average got...that is, until the principal came in. He and Ms. Bitters spoke in hushed tones, until she nodded and he left the room. Ms. Bitters spoke up in her loud, screechy voice, "Class, we have a new student joining us. Please be welcoming, as he might not be as bad as you kids turned out. Now come on in, whatever your name is." The door cracked open, and the new kid stepped in. Everyone's mouths dropped open. The new kid was AWESOME, and he hadn't even spoken a single word yet. He was very pale with black hair and blue-gray eyes, and he wore a nicely fitting long-sleeved shirt with an odd symbol on it - it

Okay, so the first half of this chapter is gonna be trough Dib's P.O.V. because it's sooo much easier to explain things through his eyes.
Sixteen years ago was the beginning of my end. On the day of my birth I was taken away from a human nursery on the planet Earth and was raised by an Irken service drone in order to serve my one and only master. The drone told me that Master had bought me legally and therefore I was his forever, but I know I was stolen. Human slaves are illegal in every galaxy, and on every planet. Well, besides Earth, but I never have, and never will admit I know that. I don't need another reason for Master to 'correct' me...
On the day of my second year my master, Blin, assigned me as his personal slave. He told me if I was questioned, I was to 'refer myself as his adopted son.', whatever that was... Master Blin uses many terms that I do not understand, but I've learned to never question him, or it'll lead to more 'correcting'.
For the next five years, there

Zim had come back down to the holding cells the next day to satisfy his curiosity over the boy’s health. Much to dismay, the human had not improved from his dazed-like state. Upon entering the room the alien let out a slight sigh as his ruby orbs scanned over every inch of Dib’s frail body before he slowly made his way up to the small cage. Leaning his back against the cool bars, Zim stared forward at the grey, metalic wall, reluctant to see the damage he had caused.
The silence in the near empty room seemed almost deafening; the only sound seemed to come from the Irken’s heart as it drummed heavily into his antenna. Minutes passed before the Irken could no longer take the overwhelming silence. “Why is the Dib acting like this?” he asked, a hint of unease slipping past his dry lips. Inwardly the green male hoped for some kind- any kind of response from the other, but as

"Pur if you do not stop your rambles I'll rip of your irkening antenna!" Red hissed in annoyance. The pacing stopped as Purple's eyes slowly widened at Red's vulgar threat. "Every day with you is like spending a day with a Slorbee that's passing her young!"
Purple's lip stuck out in a pout. "I'm not a psychotic female that secretes an abnormal amount of hormones..."
Red looked up at the other and let out a frustrated sigh. "Never mind... Just- stop pacing around so much."

As soon as the wonderful feeling that shot its way through his body, it was taken away just as fast with the voice of his insane SIR unit. "MASTER!" Gir's voice rang out through Zim's antennas as he attached himself to his master's leg.
"GET OFF OF ME GIR!" Zim shrieked, kicking the robot away.
Giggling to himself, Gir smiled up to his master. "The big headed boy woke up though! He dun and go look all funny!"
Rubbing his temples in frustration, Zim stared down at Gir. "What's wrong with him, Gir?"
"HE LOOKS LIKE THIS!!" he screamed, holding up a roll of toilet paper. He laughed hysterically while waving the roll around, ultimately teepeeing the control room.
The Irken ignored the mess for the moment and stared down at the giggling robot. "What's his physical status?"
Gir's teal body turned red as he entered Duty Mode. "Sir! Prisoner Dib's physical status is currently dehydrated!"
"Hmm.... What's his mental status, Gir?"

The Irken hummed to himself, picking up various objects only to set them back down again. After a few minutes, Zim turned away from his observations in favor of the boy.
“This lab is impressive.” He said excitedly. “It’s a fair size, has a good amount of tools,” he then grinned sadistically. “There’s even chemicals in here I could only dream of using!” Letting out a content sigh, he turned away from Dib and stared into his lab. “With these materials, I could create a whole new era of weaponry for the Armada.” Dib watched silently as the black stalks upon the other’s head wilted slightly. “Or myself.” Nodding his head, the Irken set out to do just that.

When questioned about the files, Zim coldly brushed aside Genn's probing and retreated to the sanctuary of the small room. Next to her obsessive infatuation with him, her constant questioning made it near impossible for the taller to deal with it.
Letting out an angry sigh, the Irken flopped down onto the large cot, hands to face as he tried to clear his thoughts. The drone worked fast and efficiently and once everything was once again right, she wasted no time in kicking the rude Irken out of the room.
The two walked down one of the halls on the main level of the home. Dib stifled laughter as Zim mumbled under his breath, complaining that the medic had treated his lifesource carelessly. Dib was surprised to see that his master responded to Zim's boisterous claims with a smile and calm demeanor, that eventually persuaded the upset criminal to accept his offer. And you would fight for Zim out of loyalty?" Zim questioned finally. It was a strange thought; all these years of fighting each other, why would Dib fight for Zim out of loyalty?
Dutifully, Dib scooped out the vanilla cream and plopped it onto the cone before handing it over to the alien menace. "Here, your majesty. I hope you enjoy. I lost a leg while getting it for you but, it was worth it." Once the ice cream was handed off, the teen walked over to the register to pay for their cones, wondering if the old man recognized him. From the dimness in his expression, Dib guessed 'no'. Somehow it was both a relief and a disappointment
Zim rolled his eyes at Dib. He liked the idea of Dib being his faithful knight, but the human's obvious sarcastic tone was ruining the imagery.
Hesitantly the alien tasted the plain white treat, this time not being surprised by the frostiness. This one was a much more subtle sweetness; it was creamy and surprisingly good.
