As a thank you for Midna becoming a Daily Deviation, and as a 100th deviation special, here it is - my papercraft collection!

I’ve been papercrafting since late 2009/early 2010. The first model I ever tried building was a Mew, which I never ended up finishing. The first model I did finish though was No Face’s mask, which can be found in the picture! As you can see it looks a little rough, but hey, you have to start somewhere, right!

For anyone who’s ever thought of getting into papercraft, just go for it! Start off small and work your way up. You don’t get good at it overnight, but when you do gain some skills in the craft, you’ll be able to build anything and have wonderful sculptures afterwards!

There are over 100 papercrafts in the picture (I took a separate picture of each model on a black background and then compiled all of the pictures into 1, they’re not to scale with one another), most which have there own picture in my gallery, so check it out. There are some papercrafts that aren’t included in the photo, ones I’ve made for other people and no longer have, and other ones that are on display in my room and were too hard to take down. Every papercraft I’ve ever finished building is listed below, by category, including ones not included in the photo.

Zelda: Life size Link, Life Size Imp Midna, TP Zelda, Princess Midna, King of Red Lions + ocean base, Ghirahim, SS Impa, Nabooru, Saria, Darunia, Ruto, OoT Zelda, Rauru, Triforce, TP Heart Container, life size Ocarina of Time, Midna’s Fused Shadow/Mask, Zora Armor Link, Makar, Sheik, life size Zora Armor Helmate, life size Hylian Shield (cosplay version), life size Master Sword (cosplay version)

Pokemon: Raikou, Suicune, Entei, Dragonite, Mightyena, Psyduck, Milotic, Wailord, Darkrai, Togepi, Cacnea, Snorlax, Corsola, Blaziken, Wobbuffet, Venusaur, Shaymin (land form), Deoxys, Lapras, Skitty, Prinplup, Latios, Latias

Studio Ghibli: Howl’s Moving Castle, Howl’s Flying Castle, grey Totoro, blue Totoro, white Totoro, Calcifer, Flapter, Tehanu, Arrietty cubee, Yubaba, Sen cubee, Haku cubee, No Face mask, Nausicaa cubee, Howl cubee, Kodama, Ponyo cubee, Sosuke cubee, Jiji, Catbus cubee

Bleach: All 13 Captain cubees, Suzumebachi, life size Zangetsu, life size Zabimaru, Kon cubee, Rukia cubee, Ichigo cubee, Uryu cubee, Orihime cubee, Rangiku cubee, Renji cubee, Shuhei cubee, Ulquiorra cubee, Grimmjow cubee, Nel cubee

Death Note Cubees: Ryuk, Light, L, Misa, Near, Rem, Teru

Other: Telephone Lady Gaga cubee, Born This Way Lady Gaga cubee, Elizabeth Shaw (Prometheus) cubee, white dragon

Not Pictured: 8 life size Bleach swords, Ichigo’s Hollow Mask, 2 Chinese Lanterns, Swampert, Ludicolo, life size Celebi, sea turtle, falcon, grand piano, 2 Lady Gaga cubees, N64 Ocarina of Time, many Totoros

If you’re interested in a link for a template, please check my gallery to see if there is a separate picture for the model (template link in description). If there isn’t one, leave a comment with which model you’d like the link for and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

I hope this inspires some of you to try your hand at papercrafting! Thanks so much for all your support this far, and I hope you stick around for everything to come!

GLaDOS, the antagonist from the game Portal 2, is an artificial intelligence who, half-way through the game, is ripped out of her body and put into a small computer powered by a potato battery (potato + GLaDOS = PotatOS, in case you didn't get it).

I've been sitting on this model for some time now, over a year actually, and I've come to the conclusion that I just can't seem to muster the drive to finishing it. On the other hand though, I have already done most of the design work, and it'd be a shame to let it go to waste, so I've decided to post what's finished with a disclaimer:

THIS IS AN UN-TESTED MODEL.

From what I remember, I had already given it a first pass, but there will probably still be a few kinks, and any prospective builders will have to deal with them on the fly. If you do give it a try, feel free to share your experiences or others to learn from!

I had to do a lot of work on the textures and mapping, it seems like it was designed to only look good from a first-person perspective, as the back was a mess. I did my best to touch up the seams, but there are still some rough spots. If anyone is interested in trying their hand at it, I'll post the texture file.

The scale was a bit harder to figure out; the model relative to Chell is actually huge, at least half the length of her arm, and probably would have weighed a good 15lbs (~7Kg), where as a real potato is closer to 4" long and less than half a pound (~200g). I settled on something in between, largely for practicality's sake: 6.5" (16cm) wide X 8.5" (22cm) high X 4.5" (12cm) deep.

PePaKuRa (PDO) Files

On a side note, where the hell are you supposed to post .PDO files? They have several categories for papercrafts, but none accept anything other than plain images... I've been having to throw them in one of the miscellaneous/tutorial categories...

I've finally got sick of having my models spread out all over the place, so I got the idea to see if I could make a display case for 'em. I went out and got a big cheap shelving closet from IKEA, cut some holes in the doors, and used clear acrylic plexiglass sheets to cover them with nice trim around the borders to make viewing windows. I used a 25-foot strand of white holiday lights to illuminate the case, which actually worked pretty well. I've got a little extension cord with an on/off foot pedal attached to it so you don't have to plug/unplug them. I may go out and add a second strand next time I'm home.... mm, we'll see.

This has the added bonus of helping to keep dust from collecting on them... which has been a bit of a problem. Took about a day and $100 to complete. The only thing that's missing is my Needler, Combat Shotgun, and all the ammo, which are all down at school at the moment.

I've gotta re-arrange things later though, Gregg is completely hidden in the middle of the top shelf. Oh, and as usual, the actual lighting is much better than the picture shows...

Finally in the first week of October 2012 Yoshi was completed. I am a dummy!
I had several problems with the paper pulp because it was a season of high rainfall and humidity so this took a long time to dry.Waaaah!  The pieces were flattened and dented and the filling of swarf and sawdust was compressed inside, causing depressions in various parts of the model CURSE YOU! (even with the layer of pieces of paper that was added).
Fixed those problems was sanded and polished, then added shading and highlights with paint, and finally a layer of matte and glossy varnish :painter: .

Thanks to :icondestro2k: for this amazing Yoshi model.Worship

Hello!
I leave this picture, this is one of my favorites of this little comic. Thumbs Up
The papercrafts are: Lara by :iconninjatoespapercraft: and T-rex by
:iconpaperjuke: . Lara is printed on paper 90gr to 4 pages per sheet and T-rex is printed on 120 gr paper to letter size.
For those who are observant, you could see the small variation in Lara's hair, yes it is natural hair! :happybounce:

Finally, finally I can call her "folding complete".
It took forever but I made it.
My next job is to paint her.

It is based on the models of :iconponinnahka: poninnahka.deviantart.com/art/…
whos models are based on the models of :iconkp-shadowsquirrel:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, here is everything you need to build your own:
the .pdo for pepakura dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42…
the papers without numbers dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42…
the papers with numbers dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42…

Attention: this is a not textured model, since the texture maps where broken I did not bother to go though all the work to make them happen
(well I used the colors, that you dont see in my model because b/w print, so all that is missing are her eyes and her cutie mark),
and her right wing was not connected after importing it in pepakura.
If you want to paint the model after folding like me that is no problem at all, you just have to notice that the right wing in inverted as a model (so the colored side is INSIDE the wing).
If you want to have a textured model, maybe you or someone else can work better with textures then me, so here is the 3d model from blender dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42…
and a .obj from it dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42…

Finally, took some time again but now she is ready to print.
I had to do some changes in Blender, especially her wings had NOT been ready for papercraft, to much clipping.
So, now I am just 250-300 hours away from the finished model... ready ... set... fold!

With the completed face, you really can get a good sense how she will look later.
I guess this week will be no additional progress, since I have some prepartions to do for galacon, where my Pinkie model will be in the "Art Room".

I've finally finished with my 2nd build of my Skyrim - Frost dragon paper model.

This one sports new textures and a new more stable base, a ruined Word Wall.
It is also filled with expanding foam to keep it more sturdy since, as it turned out, the last one couldn't support its own weight.

Difficulty: (still) Very Hard

Download (the new stuff is in a separate file)
[HERE]

Original texture and model belongs to Bethesda / ZeniMax.

Frost Dragon from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
(Model of the Month at Zealot Hobby Forums)

I know Viinturuth is a random kind of dragon, but it was a Frost Dragon for me and I have multiple save-files to prove it :P

The model has a wingspan of 500mm and approx height of 460mm. Overall 690 parts.

Difficulty: Very Hard

Make your very own Lemon Grenade with this paper-craft print off.
The image has been fitted to A4 size paper so if your printing on any other size you might need to do some adjustments.
I would recommend using a sharp craft knife to cut and UHU glue to join.
Go here for a preview of what the final model will look like [link]

Enjoy!

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”
~ Cave Johnson

It took me about a day to design, texture, cut out and glue together.
