Pillow Thoughts II
Are you a spy?
The sun shined through the window, filling the little chamber with warm, playful colors. A distant bird was chirping happily, announcing the beginning of spring as the wind kindly caressed the tiny new-born leaves that were decorating the old apple trees.
The blue pegasus lazily opened her eyes, slowly looking around the room. The wooden walls reflected the orange light of the sunrise, as if they were quietly chanting to the rhythm of the clouds, slowly waking up along with the entire farm. A table with a small mirror was resting in a corner, along with a chair and a simple red chest. Rainbow looked at the white, transparent curtains that were swinging slowly, embracing the gentle breeze, as her gaze fell upon the orange pony that was lying next to her, still asleep.
She's so beautiful...
Rainbow let out a small sigh as she looked at her marefriend. It felt so good to finally be able to admit all these thoughts

Stuck in more ways than one
"Calm down, stripey!", getting up on all fours. "Twilight made that spell o' hers and asked me to go in and wake you up. We shouted, but ya didn't answer."
"I was asleep!", protested Rainbow.
"You're always asleep!", replied Applejack moving aside to reveal Twilight who was standing behind her.
"Sorry for the intrusion, Rainbow. I need this plant for my experiments and there's this cave in which I can easily find it... Applejack insisted that we bring along another pony to make sure we get there and back safely", explained the purple unicorn.
Rainbow landed softly on her bed, scratching her head. "So why didn't you get somepony else?"
"Everypony else is busy."
The pegasus let out an audible sigh and shook her head. "I can't even remember last time I had a good night sleep". Wait, actually...she could remember. She looked up at her friends and just nodded. "Alright, let's get this over with."
The blue pegasus climbed out of her bed and walked toward

We need to talk
"Everypony be quiet!" shouted the colt that was standing on top of an old crate. The ponies settled down. He cleared his throat nervously. "The mayor has received a letter from the Princess herself announcing the possible attack of the alicorn"
"Why didn't you tell us?!" said a young mare, followed by a rain of insults and harsh words thrown at the colt. He took off his hat and ran a hoof through his dark blue mane. The sight of so many angry and confused ponies made him nervous. He wiped his forehead as the crowd's voices grew louder and louder.
"Please, everypony, I'm just trying to calm things down. There was nothing we could do. Look at our officers, for Celestia's sake!" he replied, pointing towards the group of medical helpers that were carrying stretchers. The ponies that were being carried appeared to be in pain. "We could not defend ourselves against such a powerful foe. The best course of action now is for each and eve

Celestia's oldest student
Rainbow lazily opened an eye. She thought she heard a seagull. She slowly shifted her gaze upwards, blinking a few times, adjusting to the afternoon light. The sun was shining, making her frown. She covered her eyes with a hoof and sighed as she pieced together bits and fragments of last night's conversation. Her ears pricked up when she recognized the distinct faint scent of apples. She nuzzled her way up the orange coat and snuggled her little orange cloud.
Applejack mumbled something incoherent as Rainbow's muzzle gently bumped into hers. She stretched out her forelegs and hugged her pegasus as they both enjoyed the warm rays of the sun, shining over them. The big boat didn't completely dried after last night's storm but at least it was safely anchored near the island's shore. On board, a few hooves away from the two lovebirds, the other four ponies were still sleeping and, not far from them, the old sailor was beginning

NOW you wanna talk?!
Muffled voices were running around Rainbow's mind. She rubbed her forehead trying to make sense of it all.
"Pinkie! What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing, Rainbow!" replied the pink pony frowning. "I understand when you girls hide stuff related to my super secret awesome birthday party, but my birthday is a few months away! So what gives?"
The voices kept growing louder and louder. She was starting to lose her patience.
"I have no idea what you're talking about!"
"Well I think you do! And you're not the only one who does I think you and Applejack--"
The door suddenly swung open and the aforementioned earth pony walked in. Rainbow's heart skipped a beat. Applejack stopped, confused, seeing the other two in the room. She quickly glanced at the door's number.
"Am Ah in the wrong room?"
"Oh, hi Applejack!" said Pinkie, cheerfully, as if she forgot the discussion she was having. "Rainbow and I were just talki

Who would do that?
Dash closed the door to Applejack's room behind her and threw herself in the orange pony's bed, letting out a grunt. The candle that was lighting up the tiny room flickered a little as the pegasus flapped her wings once and drew them closer to her body.
"You okay?" asked Applejack pricking up her ears?
Dash mumbled something facedown in the pillow. She then turned toward her marefriend and facehooved, "Your grandmother has a twisted sense of humour."
"Huh?" asked the confused earth pony.
"I heard y'all been sleepin' around with mah grand-daughter"
Dash choked on her hot chocolate and it took a few seconds to catch her breath.
Granny Smith widened her smile and started giggling at the surprised pony, "Hehehe, y'all should've seen yer face. Hehehe!"
Dash didn't really know how to respond to this so she smiled, somewhat apologetically.
"But, seriously now," the old mare continued, "I can understand you young fil

Bales of hay
Rainbow blinked a few times. A few more.
"Yeah, really," replied Twilight.
"Then why did you want us both to come with you?" she asked, feeling more and more, well, stupid.
"Tristle-Tosser has a very thick root, duh, it grows in a cave. I needed Applejack's strength... Also, I wanted to make sure I searched everywhere, including in high places. That's why I thought I needed your wings. Turns out, this cave just has very tall areas, nothing grows on the walls. Well, except diamonds and gems", she explained. "I've never been so far down into the cave, I just wanted to be prepared. Sorry for, uh, omitting the entire truth?"
Rainbow sat dawn. The answer was... logical. And simple. No conspiracy behind it.
"Wait, ah'm confused", mumbled AJ.
"Join the club", replied Rainbow, scratching her head. "So, you really did trip, didn't you?"
"Ah told you, I tripped on the cloud"
"Well, actually", intervened Twilight, "you might have tripped over the brown bag

Can't we just stay put?
Rainbow froze, looking at the Princess, knowing that she had to move.
Applejack snapped her out of it: "Dash, go get Twilight! Go!!"
The pegasus shook her head violently and soared into the air. She heard the pony crowd gasping; that meant the masked alicorn started attacking again. Rainbow could feel the tension in her wings as she desperately tried to gain speed. Finally she saw the library in the distance and was forced to slow down, to make sure she didn't crash into it.
Luckily for her, a window was open. She landed in the treehouse, shouting after the purple unicorn: "Twilight!!"
The bedroom door opened as Celestia's faithful student poked her head into the room.
"Oh, hey Rainbow... what's"
"No time to explain! Trouble! The Princess needs you, now!" and without further explanation, she grabbed her friend and took off. The unicorn was not used to such means of travel. The ground flew rapidly beneath her as she was t

- Glittering Thoughts –
"Ah'm sorry, wha--?"
Applejack turned towards the blue pegasus. This was becoming slightly annoying.
"I uh... I said that you did a fine job.... today, I mean," replied Rainbow Dash. She quickly pointed at the nearest apple tree. "The apples, all gone. Ha! I never knew how you could get them all down... you know, with a single kick."
Applejack tilted her head to the right. This was surpassing annoying, sliding towards worrying.
"Are you sure you're okay, Rainbow? Y'all seem a bit…" She stopped mid-sentence, not really knowing how to continue.
"Okay? Pff, of course I'm okay! I was just... you know..." she said, ending her phrase with a wide, awkward smile. The pegasus shifted a bit, trying to arrange the bag she was carrying so it wouldn't fall off her back.
Applejack frowned a bit, but decided to ignore this altogether. She had plenty of chores to do today and she had no time for Rainbow's silly pranks or less-than-inspired jokes.

That Particular Night
"Pillow fiiiiight!!" yelled Applejack as she launched one of her pillows towards Rarity. To everypony's surprise, Rarity actually avoided the shot. She then grabbed the nearest pillow and counter-attacked her enemy.
A good pillow fight is probably required, as Twilight would say, at every slumber party. Not because it's written in the book, but just because they're fun. Even Fluttershy joined the girls as they screamed and giggled in the night. Soon, the entire floor was covered in feathers. It's almost a miracle that their half-empty glasses of refreshing drinks were sparred.
Rainbow was under a pile of books, recovering from one of Pinkie's pillow-shots, when she heard Twilight calling out to them. "We should really get to our beds, girls. It's almost 3 AM and—" she giggled as she avoided a flying pillow. "—and Spike won't be able to sleep with us making such a racket. He's still a baby dragon, after all."
"Awww, but this is a sleepover p
