i went to my Independent Research: Drawing class, which i signed up for late. so i didn't know quite what to expect, having not been to class yet. the only thing my professor told me to bring to class was a drawing i'd worked on or completed lately...
do you realize how vague that is? my mind went into overdrive. should i bring a large one that was more conceptual? should i grab a still-life? a comic? i was losing it. but then my dad, who is good friend with my professor, having been a grad student under his teaching, tells me to show my professor what i LIKE to do.

Alice drew back like a horse that was being reined in. The lanky youth attached to her hand was forced to slow his progress in light of these developments. Alice shook the hand free and stood, gasping for breath, holding her hands to her aching sides.
