BACK FROM A WONDERFUL HOLIDAYI am back, had a superb time the weather was 30 to 35 CelsiusBACK FROM A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY in Personal More Like This
a bit hot and was very hazy, not the best conditions for photos
but managed to get some decent captures I think.
The rivers looked very different in Jasper in July compared to August
The snow is still melting off the mountains and because of much rain this year the rivers are super fast
and very high and because of all the silt ( rock flour) mixed in and the fast current, the water as a grey whitish looking
in comparision to the turquoise color in August when the melt is mostly done and everything settles down to the bottom of the rivers,
very interesting, we were told it snowed in the mountain 2 weeks ago WOW!
It was 10 degrees colder up there so it felt great on a 35 C day , we enjoy 25C much moreand stayed 4 hours
Also when we were heading up we thought OH no bugs up there, there is no trees WRONG

Autumn DaysOn September 25 2012 I went to a local community parkAutumn Days in Personal More Like This
where the people in that neighborhood get together to plant and take care
of the beautiful flower gardens in a park surrounded by their homes
I took many many photos, it was an amazing day~ I then went on into town
along the river and took more photos ( the river ones I have posted already)
I decided to put together a photo montage video and dedicate to you all my
wonderful friends here on DA
and especially to those who celebrate their birthday in the fall

New Camera Heaven!!!I am so over the top excited. Every year all through the year I dump all my change into my huge coke bottle piggy bank and cash it out around Christmas. Well, I cashed in my piggy bank yesterday and I had enough to purchase the Nikon D3100, 14.2 megapixel Digital SLR camera!! It is what I have wanted for the past year and now that I have it...I am ecstatic! So, now begins the process of reading the manual to learn all the wonderful things I know I can do with it vs. my Nikon D40x. Don't get me wrong, my D40x is a wonderful camera and a lot of the functions are the same, but so many are different. I want to take out my new camera today for photo's, but I need to read first...patience sometimes is not my virtue! HALLOWEEN FRIGHT!I remember when I was a kid all the prep work that went into preparing for this day. I never was one for the princess or faeries costumes, that just would not be right for a tomboy. I do distinctly remember dressing up like a girl Paul Stanley when I was 14...I had the platform boots, make up and the hair...that was a great Halloween. But, when I was 15, I had a Halloween that I will never forget. At 15 you are pretty much too old for Trick or Treating and as you all know, teenagers with time on their hands usually get into some kind of mischief...this was one of those times. My girlfriend and I lied and told our mom's we were staying the night at each other's house. I was surprised that our mom's didn't check, but this was one time that they didn't. We had planned to stay out all night with other friends who did not have parents as strict as ours and we were all going to this house that was on the outskirts of town that supposed to be haunted...it had all been initiated on a daHALLOWEEN FRIGHT! in Personal More Like This
Little Kitty Left BehindTinker as a kitten was brought home by some unsavory neighbors two doors down from my house. The kids were so mean to him, picking him up by his tail and generally not being very nice to him. It really bothered me when I would go out for my run and I would see him sitting all dejected on the roof of their house. It was the only place he could go to get away from 5 terrible kids ranging in age from 12 to 3. Well, one day out for my run I noticed that their house was empty and when I was returning from my run there was Tinker sitting on the porch looking a little lost. I couldn't believe it, they left him and so I stopped and called to him and he followed me home. He didn't let us touch him right away, but he was happy for the food and water. It only took about a week for him to let us pet him, but he was very timid and would duck every time we reached to pet him (that was from being hit). So,we scooped him up aLittle Kitty Left Behind in Personal More Like This

It will be the very first photograph to hang in my house that was not taken by me...and if you've ever been in my house, you know that this is saying something.
Selfless Acts of KindnessThere is nothing I hate more than shopping, but alas my pantry was bare and I had to go because I had nothing for dinner. So, I zipped into the store and I got everything on my list in record time only to find the line of the century for checkout. I mean, it made me think about putting everything back and worrying about food another day..no really. But, I knew I needed my groceries so I shrugged and got in line begrudgingly. I had only a few things, not a lot like some large families ahead of me. So it was that this very sweet guy who's buggy was beyond full, looked back at me and down at my buggy and sized up my contents vs. his and said, "you go ahead of me, I am not in a hurry, you don't have that much". I was pleasantly surprised and thanked him immensely for his kind act. It was a small thing, I know...but, I was so appreciated his gift of allowing me to go ahead of him in line. For those who do not know much about it, it's a sacred month for Muslims, and it's the ninth in the Islamic Lunar Calendar. It begins every year after the sighting of the new moon, and some regions might begin observing it before others due to the impossibility of detecting the new moon in the sky.
