Newcomer - Part 8All she saw was darkness. No noise. No light. Nothing. It was like being asleep. A dreamless sleep. The last thing she remembered was Dusk charging towards her and her brother, and then there was a flash of green light, then nothing.Newcomer - Part 8 in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
It was a voice. A familiar voice. It was her brother! He was calling her! Using what little strength she possessed, Twilight began to open her eyes. Her vision was blurry at first, as one would expect from somepony who'd been asleep for a while. But that was not the strange part. The strange part was that she could not move. Try as she might, Twilight could not even budge an inch.
Once some time had passed, her vision became clearer, although her first sight made her wish it hadn't.
She was in a dark and damp cave chamber of some sort. Not a massive one but large enough for a few ponies to stand on top of each other before they reached the ceiling. The walls were dark in colour and the whole room was filled with a cold and spiteful air.

Lightning Dust was clearly in a fairly bad mood today. But then, she had every right to be, given her surroundings. For this was not the green and lush field of Equestria. No, this was a place few ponies ever came, or even knew that much about. A vast dry expanse of barren rocks, mud and sand, stretching as far as the eye could see. It was hot. It was unpleasant. It was the last place anypony would ever want to find themselves if they had the choice.
This was the kind of place mares would want their children about. The stereotypical place "bad little ponies" would go. In truth nopony would ever be so cruel as to send one of their own out here. For this was not a place for the feint of heart. Those who came out here only ever knew hardship. And those were the lucky ones, for this place was known to be the home of terrible beasts and other horrors that rivalled even the monsters of the Everfree Forest.
Newcomer - Part 6Dusk approached the front door of Twilight's home and stopped. He'd decided, thanks to Applejack's prompting, that the best way was for him to just come out and say what he wanted to say. If Twilight felt the same way, then great. If not, then he was sure that they were good enough friends by now for it not to make her averse to seeing him. And while that thought was comforting, there was no avoiding the fact that if she DID turn him down, he was going to be shattered.Newcomer - Part 6 in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Taking a deep breath, he placed one hoof on the knob of the door and turned, entering the library.
The main room was just as he'd left it this morning. The only difference being that Twilight was now awake and on the other side of the room, reading what appeared to be one of the scrolls that Spike brings up. And speaking of which, a glance around showed no sing of the young dragon. He had no bad feelings towards Spike, but he couldn't help but feel that his absence would make this whole thing easier for him.

A princess fallenEven though the mood was fairly sombre, the group tried their best not to let recent events dampen their spirits. Sitting around a table at Sugarcube Corner, were five mares and a young baby dragon. Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Spike, were all trying to enjoy their time here, despite everything that had been happening here. The six of them looked around after eating their cakes to see outside the window at the state of Ponyville.A princess fallen in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Ever since the dragon attack a couple of weeks ago, everypony here had been busy trying to rebuild. Whole districts had been wiped out by the monster and many had been left homeless. But nopony in this village was willing to allow their neighbours to be without a place to stay, and many had offered up their own homes for them to live in until the damage had been repaired and the destroyed homes rebuilt. It was times like this that made the mares proud to live in a place like this, where so many of the community would band togeth
Newcomer - Part 7The road was far less ornate and clean than the streets of Canterlot, but in truth, the stallion could not help but like it. Shining Armour, captain of the royal guard, had spent so much time among the pomp and pristine in the capital, that this more rural environment was very much a breath of fresh air for him.Newcomer - Part 7 in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Even though he'd been offered the use of one of the official chariots, he'd declined, instead preferring to walk the distance to his sister's new home town. Ponyville. He'd never actually set hoof in the place before, although he'd heard much of it from his sister's letters. He was looking forward t seeing each other again. This would have been the first time the two would have laid eyes on each other since his wedding. Far too long.
Looking behind him, Shining's eyes met that of his companions. A few steps behind him were two of the royal guards, both unicorns.. Under normal circumstances they would have been his subordinates. Today thought, they were his protection. Although
Newcomer - Part 1He traced his finger along the lines of books before him. As usual, this search for one specific book was taking him a fair amount of time. But, given his role as "number one assistant", he never chose to simply give up on the task at hand.Newcomer - Part 1 in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
And this was an attitude which served the young dragon well, because sure enough, he soon found what he was looking for. "Medicines and remedies volume 3". As happy as Spike was that he found it, he simply hoped that it would do what the unicorn below was hoping it would. he slid down the ladder and turned around, holding up the book as he did so.
"Hey Mom! I found it!"
The purple unicorn before him turned from her own book and smiled. Using her magic, Twilight Sparkle levitated the tome from Spike's hands and brought it towards her.
"Thanks Spike. All we need now is to find out which ingredients we need." She said enthusiastically.
Spike grabbed a nearby gemstone from a bowl on the table and began munching on it. He walked behind the mare and peeke
