As told in "The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen", Aragorn in his twentieth year met Arwen for the first time in Rivendell, where he lived under Elrond's protection. Arwen, then over 2700 years old, had recently returned to her father's home after living for a while with her grandmother Lady Galadriel in Lórien. Aragorn fell in love with Arwen at first sight. Some thirty years later, the two were reunited in Lórien. Arwen reciprocated Aragorn's love, and on the mound of Cerin Amroth they committed themselves to marry one another.
After the War of the Ring, Aragorn became king of Arnor and Gondor. Arwen arrived at Minas Tirith, and they were married.
Her few appearances in the book suggest that Arwen is a minor character in The Lord of the Rings; but she serves as inspiration and motivation for Aragorn, who, as Elrond stipulated, must become King of both Arnor and Gondor before he could wed her.
The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen relates that Arwen had a son, Eldarion, and at least two unnamed daughters by Aragorn. In F.A. 121, one year after Aragorn's death, at the age of 2901 she gave up her life at Cerin Amroth.

Lovely valley in Hallstatt, Austria. It is the location of prehistoric and recent salt mining, as the house in the picture is a miner's home (museum nowerdays).

Photographed on a very quiet Autumn morning on the shores of Lake Estes, Estes Park, Colorado. My meetup/workshop group had some absolutely amazing conditions to work with. We were serenaded with the sound of the Elk bugling as the sun started to rise and paint the peaks with alpenglow. Needless to say we were all quite excited by the scene that was starting to unfold before our eyes. Some days you thank the heavens above that you are a photographer and get to see and experience the things which you do while most people are in bed sleeping. This was one of those days...

Thunderstorms cloud the skies and create a great sense of drama over the eastern Colorado plains and the Sunflower fields.

Sunset 9/1/2012
I just got word that Shutterbug magazine will be featuring this photo. It was also just featured in the "Caffeinated Photographers" facebook group top photos of August 27-September 2nd.

Autumn begins to approach on the first day of September at St. Vrain State Park in Lingmont Colorado as the trees start to slowly turn colors creating a gorgeous scene at sunset against the twin sister peaks of Longs Peak and Mount Meeker. The light was utterly surreal against the storm clouds and Verga (rain which evaporates before hitting the ground) For this photograph I decided to use a Minolta 70-2100mm F4 lens backed up by a circular polarizer and Tobacco Grad ND to hold back the sky. It was also photographed using my Sony A550's ability to shoot HDR in camera to make sure I would get the subtle detail in the foreground with the highlights and darks. Fall is now officially in the air and I am loving it!

Running through a grassy field.. I felt free.. the sound of the rustling and feeling the wind through my finger tips and holding the camera. It was quite a simple but great experience..

it was also nice because I was there with my loved one. =)
