Golden October

Through my own project "Tribute to My Home" I travel so much through our rural area,
especially the southern part of the Naturepark Augsburg Western Forests and the Lech / Wertachtal
in Greater Schwabmünchen.
Yesterday I re-visited my favorite place in autumn. The painted autumn forest around the fish pond
at Eggerhof shines in the last available sunlight and let memories of the giant coloring of
North Americas "Indian Summer" come up.
And somehow it makes me a little bit proud, not far from my home, having
found a small Swabian "Indian Summer" ...

ICE BAY - Lofoten 2013

On February close to the 70th Latitude the light is even dramatic on an afternoon. To reach this little remote bay, with it´s bizarre ice-formations we hiked through a pristine deep-snowed landscape.
The temperatures reached a few minus deegres and gave us perfect conditions to catch the curious formations.

Port Macquarie.
I have to say people who live on the east coast are extremely lucky with coastal photography locations . I found the coast line in NSW has lots of interesting locations and features to photograph compared to the West Coast . This is another shot from one of my favourite locations there now Port Macquarie .

We've only had one significant snowfall so far this winter, and now almost all of the remnant snow piles from that have melted off. I'm starting to miss fresh flakes! I'll have to be content with looking back at these shots from last year for now :) Come on snow storms, we need the moisture to help out thunderstorm chances in spring! :la:

Another shot from May 21st 2011, just before our mammatus display started. These little towers exploded at twilight and would go on to produce some gorgeous mammatus clouds right above our heads! :wow: Finally got this shot to look right. It was a surprisingly dynamic scene despite the fact that the sun had already set. :o There were just such varying levels of light on all parts of the scene (top part of the updraft was still pretty bright, with a dark base) which made it tough to expose. Through the magic of masking though, I think I finally got it to look close to how we saw it! =D

Day 362 of 365

Got distracted by a beautiful sundog this evening while we were car shopping. My interest was clearly more in the skies than the lot lol. I'd like to think the pilot of that plane was enjoying the view as well.
