Chun Li is an undercover agent of Interpol who seeked vengeance against the Shadaloo and their leader, M Bison, who have murder her father while he investigated their crimes. She then joined Guile and Cammy on a mission to take down S.I.N. and investigate its possible connection to the Shadaloo. Days later after the investigation, Chun Li and Guile encountered a portal along with a monster coming out of it. The portal led them to the realm of Outworld and have been chosen by the thunder god Raiden to join his forces and partake in a tournament known as Mortal Kombat. Chun Li is about to investigate this mystical world she has entered and defeat the emperor Shao Kahn to win the tournament.

As fellow god Raiden as the God of Thunder, Fujin is the God of Wind. He's one of the many survivors of a great war between the Elder Gods and Shinnok, a corrupt Elder God who wished to rule the world which is against their principles. Fujin was one of the four elemental gods to guard the Amulet of Shinnok so that the evil god will not rise until the elder Sub-Zero bypassed him and defeated him, so that he may retrieve the amulet that Quan Chi told him to bring to him. Fujin has remained inactive since then until now.

So to do this, she get employment from Seth without him finding out that she's a mole for the government who is about to put a stop to his organization alive, something that other CIA agents did not succeed in.
