"Your generic TIE grunt is just plain suicidal. And the TIE Defender jockey is bloodthirsty. But the TIE Interceptor pilot, he's suicidal and bloodthirsty. When you see a squad of those maniacs flying your way, you'd better hope your hyperdrive is operational."

The Super Star Destroyer Executor was the personal flagship of the Lord Darth Vader, the premiere command ship of the Imperial Navy, and the first of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought line. Designed by starship engineer Lira Wessex as a successor to the original Imperial-class Star Destroyer, the Executor, at a monumental 19,000 meters in length, represented the largest traditional warship the galaxy had ever seen by the time of its completion.

The Executor bristled with more than 5,000 weapon emplacements, enough firepower to blast any planetary surface to slag in hours, and a military complement capable of annihilating any ground installation. The Executor's presence alone was enough to frighten an entire star system into submission.

Reichskolonialbund uses nearly the same uniforms and ranks as colonial ministry, but with NSDAP armbands (it's a NSDAP affiliated organization) and NSDAP-style peaked caps. Reichskolonialbund has a lot of different functions in the colonies, but their main function is to perform usual NSDAP functions in the colonial territories, so RKB can be called 'Colonial NSDAP'. Nevertheless it has a hierarchy and administrative divisions, members of RKB don't wear hierarchical armbands and don't have positions like Kreisleiter or Gauleiter.

Heavy Cruiser Hammer

2 Ion Cannon – ионные орудия среднего класса.
2 Torpedo Launcher – пара торпедных аппаратов средней мощности, большой радиус поражения, разрушительные повреждения устройствам. Установлены на одной вращающейся турели.

A design by Adam Kopala :iconadamkop: which was originally a Rebel ship. Warb Null (who's model this is, I know wow a model that ain't mine) had it as a Galactic Alliance design. I decided to go Imperial as it just felt right to me. The beauty of this design is it can fit in almost any faction and era, goes to show what an excellent design it is.

Sometimes known as the Tie Droid, the Drone is inspired by the Droid fighters in the Clone Wars. Used in a time where the Remnant was in dire need of fighters but didn't have the pilots. Just goes to show throwing away all those lives in the Galactic Civil War didn't pay off.

Another protoss ship for another short story - this time, the venerable Carrier!

Carrier
Inspiring awe in their allies and sheer, naked terror in all who stand in their way, few ships are as recognizable as the protoss carriers. Even among these massive warships, the carrier Koramund is exceptional. But when his ship comes under attack by the zerg, a lowly protoss engineer must overcome unthinkable odds to save the Koramund from destruction.

Higher res wallpaper versions are available on the SC2 website.
I really enjoyed this one; very inspired by John Berkey, and I tried to recall a sense of the original BW carrier along with some of the Starcraft 2 version's style.

This is another illustration I produced for another just-released StarCraft story; painted a lot more recently than some of the others, too!

Check the story out here:
The Education of PFC Shane
As frontline troops who lead the way into battle, Dominion marines witness countless unsettling and terrifying sights. But the horrors of war pale compared to the ordeal Private First Class Geoff Shane is about to endure.

I really enjoyed this one, and you can find a bigger wallpaper version of this on the StarCraft website.

SO! The last of these for now, finishing up with another basic-unit-into-interesting story - the humble SCV!

The Fightin' SceeVees
When “Pearly” Bousquette signed on with Raynor’s Raiders, he knew his life was about to become much harder and infinitely more dangerous. But when he and his crew of SCV pilots are sent on a simple strip-and-rip mission, things quickly turn sour… and it’ll take all of Pearly’s ingenuity to get his crew back home alive.

I had a blast working on all of these, and I hope you've all enjoyed them.
As usual various bigger wallpaper resolutions can be found over at the StarCraft website.

This was REALLY exciting to find out about, I had no idea that the card was going to be blown up and used as a spoiler - Good times!

- Usually I don't design the characters/creatures/items in the cards, im asked to re-imagine them based on Art Direction notes and rough concept art provided by the Magic the Gathering concept artists.
In this case I was given extremely loose notes " ..a female vedalken wizard". So in essence I designed Nin, The Pain Artist. Believe it or not I prefer to re-imagine and illustrate the concept based on rough ideas and notes, but I had good fun with designing on this one, hopefully i'll have the the opportunity to revisit her in another card in the future.

Many, many thanks for all the great comments and interest, it's the best part of the whole thing!

Best wishes,

One of 6 cards I had the pleasure of illustrating for Magic the Gathering's lastest expansion: New Phyrexia

You can see all the spoiler cards here at the official site: [link]

I REALLY enjoyed this one as well, im a sucker for Frankenstein-esque mad science and really 80's horror and sci-fi movies in general, I called upon all that thick, black gooey goodness for this piece.

Despite their age, and the fact that they were not originally designed for tactical missions, the Dominion War saw many Miranda Class vessels returned to service to bolster fleet numbers.

Seen here is a small fleet of these ships, refitted with updated engine and weapon technologies before being launched from an orbital holding yard in Federation space.

A powerful long-range cruiser, the Romulan 'Raptor Class' warship is capable of dealing a massive amount of damage with its dual disruptor and torpedo arrays.

Seen here is the IRW D'Teres, which led an assault on a Klingon border outpost in late 2380. Decloaking almost on top of the small Klingon station and its assigned patrol ships, the D'Teres and her support ships took only minimal losses, and annihilated the Klingon forces in less than 30 minutes.

This attack created a small blind-spot in Klingon border security, allowing the passage of several larger strike forces, culminating in several larger battles deeper in Klingon territory.

Well I felt like doing a more action based image, it's not a full-on dogfight but I think it turned out okay.

This was an experiment to see how small I could make a tank before it becomes so impractical that you would only see Shriners using it in parades. I played around with the idea of moving the breech of the gun outside of the turret and encasing it in an armored sleeve. Rounds are chambered with an autoloader that charges the gun through a gap in the front armor beneath the mantlet. Due to limits of the human body, the turret can rotate only about 45 degrees to either side. I'll probably keep messing with this basic idea further.
