This is a trading card I did for Topps' STAR WARS Galaxies 5 card set, released today.

Before anyone gets confused, this is from the very first Star Wars novel, SPLINTER OF THE MIND'S EYE (1978), by Alan Dean Foster. It starts off with Luke and Leia flying to a diplomatic mission on one planet only to be forced into a crash-landing on another. Luke was in his X-Wing, and Leia was piloting a 2-seater Y-Wing with Threepio. I'm assuming Leia wasn't doing this in her white robes....

I guess I always liked the idea of Leia in the rebel pilot flight gear.

10" X 14", pencil & ink on 3-ply Strathmore Series 500 illustration board, then colored in Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Sketch that worked itself into a drawing some how. This is also a combination of like two troopers in one because of my extreme lack of drawing anything StarWars. lol! Had fun with this posed warrior on the battlefield though. Great time to strike one...don't you think. Haha!

I've always loved that Darth Vaders outfit was inspired by Samurai gear. I thought I'd play with his original design and incorporate some of that samurai shit along with some stuff I just had fun popping in there. Had a dandy playing with this piece a little lot.

Funny thing about this comic: it was drawn backwards and then flipped because I accidentally switched the places of the characters for the cut-away to the Star Wars fantasy.

Edit: I didn't mess up the text, but accidentally uploaded an older file by mistake. Thanks for pointing it out though, I've gone ahead and uploaded the right file.

What started as an attack on Romney’s business expertise at Bain Corporation as a “job creator,” has turned into a much more serious issue of potential tax fraud/evasion as Romney refuses to give out his past tax returns.

Becoming president requires a lot of transparencies, and the American people have access to a lot of information about the president’s records, including tax returns. Romney refusing to give them up throws suspicion on their integrity, and the Obama administration has leap at the opportunity.

Meanwhile, political commentator Rush Limbaugh has made claims that the new Christopher Nolan Batman movie is a "liberal attack on Romney" after discovering that the name of the villain in the movie, Bane, sounds like Bain. Doesn’t seem to matter that Bane was created back in 1993, has been a long standing antagonist in the Batman universe, and that this movie was in production way before any skepticism even befell Romney.

I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to the victims of the Colorado shooting, and assure everyone that this Batman inspired comic is in no way trying to make fun of that tragedy. For ways that you can help the victims, please follow this [link]

Here is a recent commission done of the three generations of Amidala....with Leia, and Jaina Solo....set in the arena setting. This one was rather fun. I've uploaded the high res inks for your coloring types to play with. Please send me links to your finished version, and please give proper credit for the lines.

Thanks! And enjoy

This is for a Draw-off competition on the Repercussions Forum. The concept was to design your own Star Wars Character - this is what I came up with.....I won't win of course, and I suck at coloring - which is preferred for the competition, but oh well :D

This is a commission I requested from The Amazing :iconhodges-art: Tom Hodges!
And of course when I request commissions they're generally just inks, so that I can color them myself. :)
The outfit is from one of the books, splinter of the mind's eye.
