The turbolift eased to a halt and with a distinctive hiss the door opened onto Deck 6, right across from the aft starboard lounge. Sajeen stepped into the corridor and turned to her right. She only had to walk a few steps before reaching the door to her quarters, which was also on her right. Tapping the button on the wall, the door swished aside and she entered the living quarters portion of the double stateroom she shared with her roommate, a beautiful little blonde named Alicia Evans. While Sajeen spent most of her days on Deck 8 in the shuttlecraft maintenance section, Alicia could usually be found on Deck 7 in one of the medical labs. The two women had much in common: they were both very attractive, they were both Crewmen 2nd Class and they were both technicians doing jobs that basically got no recognition whatsoever.
Given the nature of her work Sajeen didn’t wear the standard miniskirt uniform

As he sat at the main bar of the Echo 3 Club, one of the numerous taverns in Coridan’s sprawling capitol, Garadun took a sip from his tumbler of Andorian ale before fingering the leather thong around his neck. He drew it from beneath his shirt and held the small jewel dangling there, looking at it thoughtfully. To him the flawed, five centimeter-long crystal wasn’t much more than a token, a thing of sentimental value because it’d been a gift. But to the galactic population at large it represented enormous wealth and power because this rare mineral was vital to the heart of most starships. It was dilithium, something Coridan had in abundance.
The sliver in Garadun’s hand was too small and too filled with imperfections to be of any industrial use. Similarly flawed crystals were sold as jewellery all over Coridan; it was in fact where his had come from. He didn’t find its semi-translucent, pinkish colour very appea

The rim of the galaxy is a sparse and lonely place to be, and Calypso and her crew had been travelling through it for almost seven weeks. When someone mentions the rim of the galaxy, the image that comes to mind is a very slim region. But galactic real estate is big; very big indeed. On average, the width of each spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy is something like ten thousand light-years across. At the edges and trailing end of each arm the stars are far fewer in number when compared to the much denser interior of the galaxy. It’s literally darker and colder. On the other hand, being out on the very edge of the galaxy offers one hell of a view.
After leaving their Cêtarii hosts, Calypso’s crew set course for the distant Federation. For the first five days Cera had them cruising along at warp nine to break in the ship’s brand-new, hyper-advanced warp drive. But once she felt it

Sitting like some gigantic marble on the desert sands, its black and gold surface gleaming in the light of three suns, Calypso extended a slim, narrow ramp out from its lower hull until it touched the ground. Each segment of the walkway locked into place one after the other, giving the impression of growth rather than simply being extended from the ship. A round hatch then irised open where the base of the ramp met the hull. From the outside it would have taken a very keen observer to spot where the hatch was located, so seamlessly did it merged with the surrounding hull plating.
Cera stepped out of the airlock first (as was her right as captain of the ship and leader of the landing party) and was immediately followed by Nessa, who had her disruptor in hand. Cera walked along the ramp with a visible spring in her step; the result of the planet’s gravity and not youthful zest. After them came Garadun, Sajeen and Magik,

Keeping fit while living aboard a spaceship is a constant fact of life for crewmen. In the old days before the advent of gravity plating, it was vital to survival because it helped fight the weakening of muscles and bone degeneration. Artificial gravity had eliminated those problems, but regular exercise was still required to maintain good health.
As a rule, Garadun hated regular exercise. That’s not to say he avoided labour. That was also part and parcel of being a spacer; at least for those who lived aboard cargo ships. When a job needed doing, he did it. He’d spent years working in a warehouse during his old life and was no stranger to physical labour. He had the scars to prove it. No, what he hated was exercise. Running on treadmills, lifting weights, doing sit-ups, that sort of thing. Repetitive and brain-numbingly boring, that was. Calypso had its own small gymnasium filled with a v

After two days on the ocean world, Cera decided that her crew had had enough and they resumed their previous course. The planet simply wasn’t what they’d hoped for. There weren’t any proper waves for Kona to surf, Garadun and Magik found it too hot, and the extremely long day-night cycle wasn’t something anyone enjoyed. The marine life was interesting, but Cera didn’t have the time for proper research. Magik was the one who found the world and therefore she had the right to name it. But because she couldn’t talk, it fell to Garadun to speak for her. They named it Drip.
Everyone had plenty of spare time on their hands. Kona spent at least a few hours of each day in the holoroom, surfing. Cera and Nessa’s love life was very passionate, and they whiled away many pleasant hours in bed. Not only in their quarters but also in the holoroom, using its capabilities to provide assorted

Sitting in his chair and listening to Lt. Commander Slaton give his damage report concerning the U.S.S. Bangkok, Garadun couldn’t help but notice the rather odd design of the central table in the briefing room. It was an asymmetrical, wedge shape with a total of eight sides, and included a sort of indented section at the wide end where a computer terminal was mounted. It was very retro. In fact the entire briefing room had a 1960s look to it. As did every other part of the ship he’d seen so far. He figured that whoever it was that was doing the naval architecture on behalf of Starfleet, had a thing for the décor which had been prevalent on Earth three hundred years earlier.
The retro feel wasn’t limited to interior design. Although Garadun had seen more than his share of Starfleet officers, he’d never really made the connection until now. Not only was the ship a stylistic throwback, but s

There are a lot of ways that you can tell that you’re not on a regulations-driven Starfleet starship; but perhaps one of the most obvious is being greeted by energetic, jazzy music when you arrive at the bridge, as Cera was when she stepped out of the turbolift. The lighting was dim, in keeping with the fact that it was 0118 in the morning, and there was only one person present: her undeniably eccentric first mate, Garadun. He was sitting at his usual seat at the helm station and was moving in time with the music; what he liked to call “chair dancing.” Although she’d never heard this particular piece before she was certain it was from Earth and, from the sound of it, likely from around the turn of the twenty-first century. It was jazzy and dynamic, and the vocals were being provided by a woman of immense talent; her voice was passionate and strong.
Cera had no problem with his playing music on the br

Crossing the parking lot was an exercise in well-deserved paranoia. When you live in the kind of world where sometimes even the plants might try and attack you, it rarely hurts to be overly cautious. The human kept his baseball bat at the ready in case he needed to lay out an old school beat-down, and the weasel had her heavy revolver. Both were also prepared to unleash their mutant powers if required. However, they managed to reach the entrance of the mall unmolested. Cera was almost disappointed. After the theft of her airship’s balloon she was more than ready to take her anger and frustration out on something. Anything would do.
“Any idea how we get in?” she inquired. There were three sets of doors that looked like the standard kind of metal-framed glass, but the glass wasn’t glass. Instead it was some sort of transparent polymer and was quite strong.

June started on a positive note with Isabelle's twentieth birthday celebration on the first of the month. The shindig the Fusiliers threw for her wasn't a surprise, but it was very significant because it was the only birthday party she'd ever had in her life. Having been raised very poor with only her mother, and then losing her mother at the age of twelve, well, there simply hadn't been a lot a special times in Isabelle Pearl's life.
All that changed with the birthday party. Alexandra pulled out all the stops, spared no expense. Isabelle was treated like royalty right from the start with Marie serving her breakfast in bed. She was taken on a whirlwind shopping tour of Innsbruck, instructed to pick whatever she wanted: clothes, jewellery, electronics, sim chips, holoplayers; anything and everything (among her choices Isabelle stocked up on hologames and got a new SeraVideo game player to
Blue 4 Chapter 7The Spartans sat a bit away from where the soldiers were prepping pelicans. The members of Blue Team were all listening intently as John recounted to them what had happened since they'd last seen him. "I made a run for it in a ghost and barely made it through the portal in time. I ended up coming out in the area where Infinity was. I saw it crashing and then the Didact's ship headed toward Infinity and I headed that way as well. I made contact with Lasky and found my way to him," John finished.Blue 4 Chapter 7 in Sci-Fi More Like This
The Spartans were all silent for a moment before Fred spoke up. "So you accidentally released a human hating Forerunner?"
John didn't answer the question. From his posture he was agitated, though she didn't know why. Kelly wondered what had happened during the meeting to annoy him. "He indicated that he hated humanity though he didn't say it exactly, just talked about humanity like we were primitive beings. Blue 4 Chapter 4The Spartans moved through the cave and Kelly brought them to a halt several meters from the cave entrance. She inched forward, scanning the area for enemies. "Why don't the bad guys ever work against each other," Fred muttered. "What kind of enemies?"
"The Covenant fought the Flood on Halo," John interjected. The Spartan IIs were silent for a moment, each one focusing in that moment on their regrets for not having been there to help. "And me if I got too close," he added.
Kelly pushed her regret aside focusing on the current situation. She had many things she wanted to voice to him when she got the chance, her regrets being part of it. "There are a couple knights, but mainly grunts and jackals."
"How should we do this?" Linda asked. Kelly made her way back to the others and wasn't surprised to find that Linda had fallen back to old habits an
Blue 4 Chapter 1Kelly took in a deep breath as the chemicals worked their way out of her system. The hatch opened and she leaned forward, coughing up the clear liquid that supplied nutrients while in cryo. Infinity would be coming out of slip space soon and the crew was being awoken to prepare. Once her lungs were clear of the mucus-like liquid, Kelly made a quick pass through the showers before she grabbed her clothing and got dressed into the black under layer of her armor. Fred and Linda joined her a couple seconds later, Fred still coughing up a little of the liquid. I doubt I'll have the chance to actually see you in this life-time.
But even so, in the time that we've spent together - Well,

I feel as though I know you better, than those just a few feet away.

Though most would credit his honoured knights

For it began on a night when the moon was full

Poisoning it; I am left unable to eat...
Much like the caterpillar, covered in spines,
Each bite would spew only bitter venom -
Numbing my senses and dulling the mind;
It would leave me naught but a gormless wreck!
Even so, despite me knowing of the repugnant taste,
I am drawn toward you, like a moth to the flame.
May my wings crumble in the heart of the fire -
& body be turned to dust and ash...
If only for the chance to feast once more!
Ah, my dear - I will have you.
& on that day it will be so sweet.
But for now - I'm afraid that -
I must leave this as a mere - tantalizing - fantasy...

The Ultimate Imitation-Pt. 1It started with a simple smile. I noticed him right away. Then again who wouldn't notice a man with dark blue hair and matching eyes gazing at you from across the market? Our eyes met, and I allowed the lightest shade of pink to color my cheeks. I quickly resumed scanning over the bananas as if my stare was an accident. It was only a matter of moments before I heard his soft footsteps. The Ultimate Imitation-Pt. 1 in Romance More Like This
I smiled to myself and put on my best look of innocence, glancing up at him.
The blue-haired man smiled. "Can I help you?" he asked, his voice cheerful and light.
I knew he didn't work here, so this question was a step in the right direction. "U-um " I fumbled over my words purposely, and smiled sweetly when he blushed.
"These ones are the best," he said, lightly brushing my hand with his before reaching for a banana that was above it. "They are the perfect shade of yellow, and taste the best."
His words obviously had a hidden meaning, but I shouldn't have noticed it. I took the banana from his hand
If Genesis Met KujaGenesis sat beneath a great Banora White, enjoying the afternoon breeze. The sun shore on his mahogany hair and warmed his pale cheeks as he munched on an apple. "Spoken like a true poet," a mysterious actor purred, stepping out from behind the tree. "Is that LOVELESS?" Kuja's eyes gleamed excitedly.
The soldier stood, resting his hand on his sword. "What of it?"
Kuja fluttered closer to Genesis. "Nothing, I am just simply admiring your choice of literature. That poem is quite a work of art."
Hesitant, Genesis removed his hand from the hilt. "It is." Although his tone was skeptical, there was a slight interest in the soldier's eyes.
The reaper held out a delicate hand. "May I?"

She smiled softly, almost apologetically. "I guess I didn't know what to make of you, Gaito."
My name again. I shook it off. Turns out everyone knew who I really was. I might as well just give up the farce.
I swallowed hard, preparing myself for what I was about to ask. "How do you know my father?" I inquired.
Nicolette's golden eyes widened. "You don't know?" She frowned, thinking. "Oh that's right," she paused, listening to the wind " isn't it?"
I felt like she was drifting away. I grabbed her arm. "What are you-"

Sebastian reorganized the pile, placing the stack back in front of his master. "You will ruin your appetite; dinner will be ready shortly. As for the paperwork, we have been through this, young master. You must keep the company's business organized."
Ciel's eyes fell to the pile and he gasped. "What who in god's name keeps ordering such large amounts of my toys?"
"Whoever it is, they are great for business. This is the third order this month, is it not?" Sebastian leaned over his master's shoulder, admiring the large digits printed on the receipt.
"It is a nuisance," Ciel frowned, tossing the paper aside.
Sebastian caught it in one graceful motion, and examined the bill more closely. Smiling to himself, the butler tucked it in his front coat pocket for later. Ciel paid no mind to it, and re
Kioni-Earth: XIIIt had been weeks since I had heard from Civil or Aviary. That was okay, though. Percy spent every day with me, even if it meant getting high from the fumes of Alexis and Val's shop. Anyway, things really started getting heated about three weeks after Civil left. I woke up that morning and wandered into the shop, only to find Percy gone. Not only that, but the smoke had cleared and Father sat at the small table in the center of the store.
If I had half the gall as my sister, Rita, I would have charged up to the table, grabbed Father's shoulders, and shook him hard, demanding he tell me where Percy was. If I had an ounce of the brains my eldest sister

"You do you even go in public? Aren't there poachers after you?" Greg scoffed.
Cashmere pulled out a small retainer case from his bag. "These little pretties fill in my molars and incisors to make them look normal. They just latch on to the ridges of my teeth and viola! I'm human!"

The boy rested his head on the top step, breathing in the wetness of the night as the weakening summer heat warmed his back. It was morning; the artificial sun peaked over man-made hills as the city still slept.
Soft footsteps padded on the wet ground. "Brother!" Naomi fell to her knees, grasping the boy's head to her soft chest.

they said they had just checked on you,
I was thanking them for a lie.

"5...4...3...2...1...Time!" Kat called over her watch and listened out.
It was 7:30 when the joint alarms went off around the house. As usual, Amanda (Mandy) was downstairs, pouring another cup of coffee for Kat before she ran off to work.
"And here come the first lot...ALL THE STRAGGLERS HURRY UP! YOU'RE BREAKFAST WILL GET COLD!" Mandy yelled towards the stairs where she heard a few footsteps coming down. Soon enough, one set came speeding from atop and plummeting down the stairs, passed the other footfalls and soon, jumped past the last four steps and landed firmly in sight of Amanda and behind Kat.

"Morning Kat. Morning Mand'." Abi said, quickly scuttering up in the high chair and getting comfy, just as the other two came in.

Now, seven girls sharing a house, you think they'd all have their fair share of problems in love? Well, mostly. Everyone had a different story.

She had waited, as she always did, before she fell asleep, to call her boyfriend into her room for a quick snuggle. Sometimes she'd go into his and knowing he was asleep, climb in beside him and hug him for a couple of minutes (or what turned into hours as she would wake up to find it nearly sunrise) and then go back to her own room, content in knowing he was ok.
"Coming!" She heard Alex' voice whisper back and not a second later, his body popped out of the room he was occupying, tip toeing down the hallway a little towards Kat's room.

It was that time of year again. And unlike normal Halloween's, this family's was a little different. Too help with creativity and such, everyone in the household had each put names into a hat and picked it out at random. Firstly, their was Kat.

"Kat! Alex! Get your butts down here or we're leaving without you!" Amanda called up the stairs and adjusted the wristband of her watch.
They'd all decided the week before to arrange a small trip to the movies and everyone else was crammed tightly downstairs.
"Five seconds!" Kat's voice called back, a few quick footfalls running back and forth from above the groups heads.
"You said that five minutes ago! If you guys are done 'finding a glove' the rest of us are here, waiting to go! Come on, the movie starts soon!" Abi slumped against the wall, folding her arms impatiently and ready to go upstairs and carry Kat out the door, regardless of whether or not she was appropriately dressed i.e. whether or not she had that glove.
"GOT IT!" Kat called again, followed by a chuckle of Alex' before everyone huffed in relief as the footfalls came towards the stairs and finally, the two blushing and out of breath figures emerged at the bottom of the stairs.
