And Sansa. I like Sansa a lot, i didn't at first but i grew more and more fond of her with every new chapter of hers. I'm really rooting for her to turn from pawn to a player in the game of thrones.
I've been devouring those books in the last weeks hence the recent wave of fan art. Still based on the tv show's portrayal of the character since this is how i got to know them first and their appearances have stuck with me.
Others i've done in similar style: Dany [link] Margaery [link]
A little something for *Chashirskiy's birthday. An older Dany, perhaps at the moment she finally lands on Westeros. Ready to fight for a throne she believes is hers, dressed in Dothraki fashion mixed with Westerosi armour as a tribute to her brother Rhaegar's maybe.
Daenerys Targaryen (based on Emilia Clarke's portrayal) is from the Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones series.
Margaery Tyrell, the sweet (or not) little (or again not) queen from the Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire, tending to her favourite flowers while thinking of all the evil ways in which she can get back at Cercei. Perhaps with a flower with poisoned thorns in a sleeping beauty scenario. I have been reading the books lately (though i shamelessly cheated and took up from where the tv show ended ) but it's very hard to shake the images of the actors/actresses of the show so you get a Natalie Dormer-ish Margaery. However, i find her costumes a bit strange to be honest so i gave her something more..organic and flowery.
I wanted to make a series titled "Strong Girls of westeros" but then when I was making the list of the characters I realized that there really are no "weak" women in Asoiaf serie. They are all, every single one amazingly strong in so many different ways. Which is amazing in a world where well written female characters are so rare. So it became just "Girls of westeros". 'Cause it was redundant.
Red is a fun color. XD
Remember: NO character bashing or GTFO. And I still draw the characters the way I imagined them to be when I read the books. Keep that in mind.
My take on the Eyrie castle from ASoIaF. It was hard not to make it look too much like Ted Nasmith's Neuschwanstein-like visualization, because that one is obviously awesome!
I found inspiration on some other castles and monastries I've seen in the Alps and tried to go for a slightly uneven look, as if to suggest that it was built over decades, as it often happened with such big buildings back in the day.
Fiiiiiiiinaly ! I swear it took me so much time Im not sure if i even like it now I changed Lyanna's dress like at least 6 times not to mention Rhaegar's hair style. Anyway Im happy Im done with this drawing, I think it ended up well, Rhaegar Targaryen & Lyanna Stark from A Song of Ice and Fire PS Ill upload the steps tomorrow, couse im too tired right now. its 4 am god damn it Something looks really odd, but i cant figure it out
Another one from the series of scenes we propably never saw in ASOIAF.Renly showing his new king armor to Loras and discussing future. Face - Sean O'pry, armor - Brianne's from the second season of GOT
Final version of my drawing of the Targaryen siblings, Viserys, Daenerys and Rhaegar. It took me more then I was expecting because god damned Viserys was pain in the ass to draw I also wanted to feature the Targaryen banner but it didn't fit right Here's a link to the WIP [link]
Next Im doing the Lannister twins, I really wanted to finish the Stark kids illustrations but I dont have enough time and then I have to do some family portraits
Orys Baratheon, from George R. R. Martin's novel saga 'A Song of Ice and Fire'
From aSoIaF wiki:
Orys was the rumored bastard half-brother of Aegon I. He was one of Aegon's fiercest commanders and was regarded as Aegon's only true friend. He rose through the ranks and became Hand of the King after Aegon's landing on mainland Westeros and his coronation.
During the War of Conquest he and Rhaenys atop of Meraxes was tasked with taking Storm's End. The Storm King Argilac, hearing of the fate of Harrenhal knew his formidable walls would not protect him from dragonfire, rode out to give open battle. Orys slew Argilac the Arrogant, who became the last Storm King. After the battle, Argella Durrendon, the daughter of Argilac, declared herself the Storm Queen and continued to hold Storm's End. Aegon rewarded Orys with Storm's End. After taking the Storm King's lands and castle he also took his daughter Argella as his wife and adopted the banner, honors and words of her line.
Even being the founder of Baratheon House, Orys was said to be a truly Targaryen, with violet eyes and silver/golden hair. The strong seed of the Storm Kings came from his wife.
