I researched Harpies and I decided to take it in a much lighter direction as I may do with all of these. I took the Harpy Basis (taloned feet, bird wings/arms) and used a Macaw as the base bird for her.
I don't know if all of them will be colored as fully as this one was, but I tell ya, after a long time of not REALLY coloring anything, this was hard hahaha.
A character for my work-in-progress project "Freakish". I've been working on her character design for a loooooooooong time and FINALLY found something that I love! Seriously, she has taken years to figure out. It always feels so good when I can finally say "that's her" and call her a solid design (not just her appearance but her personality and role in the project as well).
OH MY GOSH THE END OF THE SEMESTER IS WEDNESDAY AND THEN I AM FINALLY FREEEEEEE FOR A FEW MONTHS!!! Well, back to my Finals projects! These shackles-of-schoolwork aren't off my wrists just yet.
*View at maximum size, please. I looooove how these turned out. They make me so happy!
This is the last assignment concerning Moses/Sparky. I took this class ("Entertainment Illustration", although I took it as an Independant Study) from who has made it into the Top 5 of My List of Most Helpful Art Instructors Ever, so if anyone at BYU-Idaho gets the chance, TAKE HIS CLASSES! He is also who I took Creative Perspective from.
Kiki's mermaid-form. Now that all the players have seen it, I figure I can post this. Her tail is HUGE and pretty stiff. In all honesty, it'd probably have to be to propel her quickly through the water. The gossimer, transparent fins have their place in fantasy, but Kiki is a *real* mermaid, and need to work somewhat within the laws of "reality". (...because I'm neurotic about that kind of crap.)
