I think its safe to say I'm in a band again. I've been pretty hesitant to talk about it because these things have had a tendency to fall apart after a little while. Musicians are the flakiest most unreliable mother fuckers around. :iconeyerollplz: This has got to be one of the worst cities to try and start a band in. All the places that try to host music end up closing down because it attracts too much trouble. :iconfacepalmplz:
Anywho, that's going pretty well, actually better than any band situation I've been in before.

y Witch Doctor set came in the mail today. I built him and now I'm gonna give my thoughts on him. Disregard this part if you don't care). I would use one word to describe the build of this Hero Factory set.. redundant This leads me to some mixed feelings about the WD. I feel that with the part count the designers were allowed, they could have done considerably better at creating more fluid motion using the HF system. I find it to be a sad commentary in of itself when this is the best hero Factory build they've done. Maybe my expectations were simply set too high from everyone saying I should get this set and that its a good build. Anymore, lego doesn't start to show us a good build unless we're $50(USD) or more into the set. Lego just seems really really cheap to me now days. Not necessarily in the quality of their parts, cause they still offer a lot of the same parts they've had for a long time, they just seem like they're trying to find every little nook and cranny wh
Post Birthday JournalFirst off, Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday yesterday. Then Thanks to :icondire-knight: for the +80Post Birthday Journal in Personal More Like ThisI'll be putting them to good use soon, hopefully. My birthday was very very...alright.
I had a few friends over paid a visit to another friend, had some fast food, hung out. Nothing special but hey not bad for a birthday on a Tuesday.
For those of you that don't know, I'm 24 now. Every year around my birthday I reflect on how I'm different from the me I was a year ago, what I've gone through and what I've learned. Last year at my birthday was one of the lowest points in my life for reasons I'd rather not get into. A lot of things got worse for me, but it lead to a period of getting better, healing and learning, 2012 has been an improvement for me. I've been on what I like to call a "steady systematic decline"(which is a lyric I pulled from a NIN song) for the previous three years. Being in a better place now that I was by my birthday the previous year is s
The Balkan Powder KegIn an attempt to hopefully even things out around here, I'm writing a journal to speak about the recent tensions and squabbles happening here on DA. I think its safe to assume everyone has taken notice to the situation here onThe Balkan Powder Keg in Personal More Like Thisand how its become a bit like Biotube. I fear DA's reputation for a MOCing community is now forever tarnished and that this might drive otherwise good or brilliant MOCers away. To be quite honest, I couldn't care less about these petty squabbles and the butthurtedness of anyone involved, but it is driving a massive divide down this community and people are taking sides, joining factions and creating allies. Then people are getting backlash and ridicule for being friends with the enemy of another friend. Its creating what I find to be akin to the "Balken Powder Keg." When this powder keg blew up it started WWI. One country attacked another so then both countries allies jumped in, then starte

The first of them was seeing Russian Circles outside of the Venue. I hadn't didn't talk to them but shit they were right there. Then once they started letting people in they were walking around a bit and Mike was practicing the riff for Mledak on stage. I picked up some merch, got a T shirt, and three out of four albumss. They don't have Enter in press right now.It gets even better though...Here's why.
Oh yeah, that's right. Got the three CD's signed by the band. I caught Dave while he was walking around asked if I could bother him for autographs and he was happy to do it. Brian came out, signed as well and Mike was onstage so he did

So I'm just going to post and answer the questions. We all know about the rules and all that junk by now. Here goes.
:iconblutaufklaue: This guy tagged me first but because he didn't follow the rules and notify me. So now I'm fulfilling that.
His questions are...
1. What's the weirdest thing you've ever done (ever, in any situation) Weirdest thing...Made out with a guy on a dare. Hey, don't judge me. I got $50 out of it and i used it to buy The Kardas Dragon, which was very useful. They didn't think I'd do it, because I'm not gay, but HA proved them wrong and did it anyways.

Mototaur:sometime in 2007-Nov. 4th 2012That's right. Our Beloved Mototaur has been disassembled. He is no more, and I don't think I'll be rebuilding him any time soon, if at all. I did not make this decision lightly, but am still not wholeheartedly sure about this decision. Part of me wonders if an even better Mototaur resides somewhere in a different or possibly radically different arrangement of the parts that made up his previous version, or if this MOC really has reached what the other part of me feels is an "evolutionary dead end."Mototaur:sometime in 2007-Nov. 4th 2012 in Personal More Like This
As you know, many MOCers recycle their MOCs, in fact I'd say a majority of MOCers do. It seems those of us that build a MOC then commit those parts to its construction on a long term basis or indefinitely are few and far between. There's arguments for either approach. Both have their pros and cons. Recycling means new MOCs, constantly moving on to a new idea. In my opinion, that sometimes leads to the MOCer presenting the same or very similar idea over and over again. Some MOCers make it wor
Offical MOC Themes JournalHey everyone. That's right. I'm gonna be a totally unoriginal hack right now, and A) run with the crowd and put theme songs to my MOCs, and B) do so by placing music that other people wrote to my creations based on similarities or association of lyrics and themes.Offical MOC Themes Journal in Personal More Like ThisI don't have everyone's theme figured out. So as I place songs to MOCs I'll update this journal. If any of you have suggestions for a MOC send em my way and I'll listen to it to see if I think it fits. Lyrical association or musical association are what I'm looking for. You'll see in the examples below.
Lets begin!

My parents and I arrived in Cambridge with two hours to kill. The first thing that struck me was the sheer number of bicycles flitting around; with the narrow roads, flat topography and student population, bicycles are the signature mode of transport here. A few tourist photos later, I was left on my own at Jesus College, waiting for the course to begin.
Naturally, everyone was keen to be early for the initial assembly of the group. The thirty-or-so of us gathered around the entrance without a word, until one boy broke the ice with the line "So awkward silence it is, the
Reflections and PredictionsI'll start by talking about a topic we're all familiar with: technology.Reflections and Predictions in Personal More Like This
Now, I don't know about you, but I'm quite happy with technology these days. My computer does everything that I want it to do, at a pretty good speed; my Dad has a fancy camera, but more importantly, he lets me use it; then there's various other gadgets of the 21st century, like 3D TVs and smartphones, and they're all pretty awesome.
And yet, it is often the case that we look back into the past, at, say, my parents' generation. They didn't have the luxury of computers, their cameras relied on film instead of pixels, and things like 3D were unheard of. Compared to our current living standards today, it's easy to think that life was 'hard' back then - but they lived through it quite happily. Perhaps, while they were writing letters instead of texts, they felt grateful that they had a postage system at all. In fact, they probably felt the same way as I do now: "Wow, we have this fancy new stuff like trams. It must've

The scene is a primary school classroom in 2004, and one of the other kids is being mean to 8-year-old Aiden. The teasing is unprovoked and meaningless; if I remember correctly, he called me a square.
That wasn't very nice, thinks 8-year-old Aiden. I didn't do anything wrong. What the hell is a 'square' anyway, aside from the quadrilateral? I don't know, but he definitely meant it as an insult. Well, I shan't let him have his fun. I shall simply ignore him and get on with my sums. In fact, maybe he did that because he's jealous of my maths, and that he wants to feel superior. Yeah, that's it. I hold the upper ground here.
Hold on a second. "I'm good at maths, therefore he is wrong"? That doesn't sound right. If anything, that makes me sound big-headed. I really do wonder what pleasure he gets from saying stuff like that. I guess he's just mean. I don't like him.

Smoke and mirrorsAllow me to outline a typical blog of mine:Smoke and mirrors in Personal More Like This
I begin by presenting a topic, and my generally predictable view on it; this involves an abundance of semicolons, rhetorical questions and the word 'society'. I attempt to argue from a neutral standpoint, though the first person remains dominant. Though conclusions are supposed to be assertive, mine end up being airy and wistful.
Were it not for fear of repetition, I probably would've written about racism, or our obsession about negativity, or perhaps the more expected 'What it's like to be a 17-year-old who still plays with Lego'. I'm conscious of the fact that this detached register gets tiring after a while – I hope that this one isn't so monotonous.

Our superficial societyLet me begin with a short anecdote:Our superficial society in Personal More Like This
I was in a hotel room with friends, on the last day of what had been, until then, an amazing holiday. Much like this journal, the topic of conversation quickly turned to girls and relationships.
We somehow began talking about bases, and to which one each of us had gotten. For those who have yet to come across the term, it's a baseball analogy where 'first base' is kissing, followed by progressively more intimate actions, and there are no prizes for guessing what 'a home run' signifies. I announced, with neither pride nor shame, that I have yet to reach first base at the ripe age of 17; this was received with a mixture of shock and pity, which baffles me. One then went on to say that he should set me up with one of his female friends, which I outright dismissed.
The story gets mildly more interesting here. Fast forward a few hours: after having visited the bar, we return to the hotel room, with one of my friends managing to get himself incredibly drun

So, just to clarify, this was nothing more than an April Fools' prank. Hero Faffory is going to stay as a comic for the foreseeable future, not a video or stopmotion or animation or anything like that. Far too complicated and time-consuming, in my opinion. As if the date, timestamp of 1:04 and the massive 'April Fools' sign at the end of the video weren't obvious enough, right?
That said, I did really enjoy making the video. I assure you, the link is not a virus or scre
Roses are grey, violets are also grey...What I am about to share with you is perhaps the most universally interesting conversation topic that I have to offer: my red-green colour blindness. I've only just realised that 'colour blind' is two words, thanks to a Wikipedia article being open in the next tab. My life so far has been a lie.Roses are grey, violets are also grey... in Personal More Like ThisMyths
I'll start by dispelling a misconception: not all colour blind people see in black and white. (Admittedly my misleading title isn't helping the cause.) This is only the case for very very few people, and so far I haven't met anyone with monochrome vision. The truth is that the majority of colour blind people simply have difficulties telling the difference between some (but not all) colours.Confusion
Right, onto the interesting part! The subtitle is doubly suitable here, since the term 'red-green colour blindness' does not just mean red and green. Makes it even more difficult to explain, huh? Speaking from my own experience, there's very

Character role plays have become cliche, banal and overused. I don't mind a little RP with someone; however, when people constantly beg to do sex RPs with imaginary, fictional characters...unh.
It has gotten old, in a manner of speaking. I've oftentimes had people harass me via notes asking me "Where are you at?" and "Wanna continue?"
Despite I've said no the first fifty times, they remain tenacious and proceed in pestering me. It arouses my aggravation.
This "group," if you may, is simply going to be a small organization that boycotts these particular sex role plays with your characters.
I'm not saying quit altogether, but just...keep it to a minimum.

That being said, I have to say that in 21 years of working in law enforcement, PMC contracting, executive protection and the military, NOTHING has been more stressful or rewarding than being a dad. I honestly had less stress and got more sleep in third world warzones than I do as a dad. I only half-joke when I say send my ass back to A-stan so I can get a vacation. VBIEDs
Dark Nova Expansion KickstarterWell, we were a wee bit more successful in our quest to expand than we expected, and wound up with a LOT of international orders for the Dark Nova RPG. This ate into our budget for the print run for the expansions, as international shipping is obscene, especially for a four-and-a-half pound book. So, we've been trying to compensate by making up the difference with a kickstarter page for Fortune and Glory. We need another $600 and we're in the black again, so if any of you can help contribute, or pass this info along to those who might be able to, it would be greatly appreciated. Already did OwlCon, but as a head's up we will be doing it again next year. I'll post that when the 2013 schedule is finalized.
25-27 May, 2012- Comicpalooza, Houston, TX. Location: Artist's Alley and the Game Room, two tables. I'll be doing book signings, and something else I can't announce just yet. Jeff will be signing art prints and doing on-site commissions for everything from vessels to hot rods. Not sure what panels we'll be on as the new management of Comicpalooza is bad about updating us, they're too star-struck with the big name celebs and forgot about us lowly authors and artists

E3 2012 NintendoSo here I am sitting on my couch watching the president of NoA wrap things up. I am a mad little fangirlE3 2012 Nintendo in Personal More Like This"Oh I can't wait for Zelda Wii U!" "Retro is coming out with a Prime 4 for Wii U!" and other rumors I hoped to put to end. Well.... Nothing. As a girl who has just watched the one hour production, I am disappoint.
I am a member of Club Nintendo so I get the emails of goody news. Sunday Iwata hosted a 30min video displaying what the Wii U can do (tada http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo_direct;jsessionid=FD63CE89EB1947847C2BE98CDAC5A657 ). Besides that the Nintendo community has been bursting with Wii U details so it is actually rather normal to understand what the Wii U is capable of (the only thing I learned was that there was a ZR and ZL). But it is normal that they start out with the controls.
It began though with an adorable skit of Miamoto leaving his dressing room with a Pikmin in his pocket and I must say, even though I haven't finished the first Pi

E3 2012 FAILThis isn't a personal opinion, it's a fact. I was watching Nintendo 3DS Livestream and there was a chat feature. No one message stayed on the screen for half a second o-o No joke that thing was PACKED with commentators! There was English spanish and Japanese ^^ Everyone was fussing about the same thing I pretty much have been. All of their "releases" are things we've already known about and (my personal favorite comment) "Sony has brainwashed Nintendo". Nothing good was released or explained and the lag was a biatch. So all hope for anything interesting this year wentE3 2012 FAIL in Personal More Like This
Soooo many Mario and Pokemon games, gods! I mean, they are great franchises, but we have so many of them, do we really need anymore? A lot of people on chat wanted Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem and F-Zero. Oops, and Smash Bros of course. Regardless, we will have to make do with this and hang tight for another year and continue our otaku lives sneaking out what little info we can.

Metroid DebateGather round, another debate is going under way. A random one... but one none the less! So I have wasted literally 3 hours looking at random things on Wikitroid (Wikepedia site for Metroid) and my eyes are FRIED. However, I have come upon one thing that rather urks me. I hated them with a passion when I played my first Metroid game (MP1). I hated them so much, and ironically, my boyfriend called me one -.-" Later, I came to know Squee (what I named the baby) and love and adore their cute ways and laugh manically when I play Brawl or MP1 and my minions devour the energy of my enemies.

April Buinding Contests!Time to kick off the building contests for this month! Hopefully we'll have more entries this time than last month. We've got some interesting subjects to work on, but not a lot of time to work in due to delays and such. So no more waiting, let's get building!April Buinding Contests! in Personal More Like This
First up, the main contest, as chosen by :icontaggerung1: !
Build a vehicle of any type, (helicopter, airplane, car, boat, etc.) the only requirement being that it be able to have two minifigures seated side-by-side.
And the Lego Digital Designer Contest, as chosen by :icondinshino: !
Create a character out of Bionicle and/or Hero Factory parts that fits the idea of "Zombionicle"
(hopefully I understood dinshino's idea correctly.)
Rules as follows, to hopefully avoid any confusion.
Building rules
1: The entry must follow all of the LegoFanClub's standing rules, which can be found on our main page.
2: The entry must be something new, something you've built for this contest.

Contest Begins! The LegoFanClub Movie Scene Contest opens today! The rules are going to be pretty much the same as they always have been, but just in case, here they are again. The rules in blue apply to all contests, and the rules in red apply to this contest in particular.Contest Begins! in Personal More Like ThisIt has to be made out of Lego bricks: No off-brands allowed.
It cannot be glued, painted, stickered, or otherwise modified using non-Lego means.
It must be built for real: Computer programs like LDD don't count.
The entry must be sent to the club via a link in a note, and *not* in a comment.
The scene must contain at least one minifigure that looks like the character from the movie it represents. (eg. It wouldn't work to have a Santa Claus minifig playing Klaatu in "The Day The Earth Stood Still")
The Deviation must include the movie's title and a caption from the scene, either in the artist's comments or name. (eg. "You mu
CONTEST! Whoooo! It's time to announce the subject of the July 2012 LegoFanClub Building Contest! A lot of people seem to be interested in the idea of building a scene or scenario, which inspired me to bring the return of the contest that introduced me to this awesome group in the first place: Lego Movie Scenes!CONTEST! Whoooo! in Contests More Like This
A lot of people had other great ideas too, so I'm going to hang onto those for future contests.
So, movie scenes! Everybody's seen a good movie or two, and even if they haven't, there are some scenes you just have to know anyway. If all else fails, The Wizard of Oz. So, everyone should be able to take part in this. First, let's set some important rules. The rules in blue apply to all contests, and the rules in red apply to this contest in particular. It has to be made out of Lego bricks: No off-brands allowed.
It cannot be glued, painted, stickered, or otherwise modified using non-Lego means.
Half-Way Point ReminderOkay, it's actually a bit past the halfway point for accepting entries, but it's close.Half-Way Point Reminder in Personal More Like This
We've got some great entries so far, and with only 10 more days until voting starts on the 25th, I wanted to remind everyone.
Entries must be in by August 25th.
Entries must be built out of actual Lego bricks, not in LDD. (sorry)
The subject is 'Sci Fi Vehicles'.
Submit your entries to the Club in the form of a note with a link to the Deviation. The note should say "Contest Entry" or some such in the subject line.
Please don't submit your contest entry to the Club's gallery, at least until after the contest finishes. It spoils the surprise.
As always, have fun!
If anyone has any questions, I'll be glad to answer.

His choice follows, in his own words.Another Contest! in Personal More Like This
"Sci-Fi vehicles. Not necessarily real ones, like X-Wings and DeLoreans, they can come from your imagination. Some examples would be flying cars, spaceships, mecha, and all other funky-lookin' forms of transport. That should be interesting, provided we get more applications this time
I WANT YOU
:iconunclesamplz:
TO BUILD SOMETHING!"
Same rules apply as last time: It must be built out of only Lego bricks and Lego products. (eg. stickers made by Lego are not bricks, but they're okay. Stickers, or anything else, not made by Lego are not okay.)
As before, please submit your creation as a note with a link to it. If you have any questions, please ask away.

On the topic of purism`Rahiden reporting for duty.On the topic of purism in Personal More Like This
A purist, in the MOCing community, is someone who does not modify his pieces in any way, be it with painting, cutting or using external components such as cloths or string. The purist essentially uses pieces exactly as they are provided by Lego.
Naturally, the topic of purism is a difficult one for us BML admins; much like the BML Standard, it's a question that has no definitive answer. And so, we’d like to ask for your input on the matter, with some discussion (and shameless self-advertising) from the four of us as well.
Letters in bold indicate that I’m paraphrasing one of the admins, i.e Shorjok, Alex-Darkrai, 3rdeye88 and, of course, Rahiden.
R Let’s start with painting, shall we? I’ve seen painting done for a variety of reasons and to a wide range of quality;
The BML Standard:iconmaplemaster: reporting for duty. I'm starting to become known for my longer-than-ideal journals, but this one's important! The BML Standard in Personal More Like This
If you look on the BML profile page, you'll see that we've updated the box on the top-left; it now contains The Rules, as before, and an addition of mine titled 'The BML Standard'. I've pasted it below for convenience.
Anyway, we've found that a lot of potential MOCers come to us in search of advice for improvement (so long as they don't storm off in a fit of rage, that is). There might also be the chance that there are people who want help, but aren't willing to openly ask for it. We've always known that it's hard to describe what exactly makes 'a good MOC', so, with contributions from the other admins, I've done my best to make a list of factors which we find important.
Comments, thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

The BionicleMOCers'League is not going to lower its admission standard.
As always, there are people whose MOCs get turned away due to them not meeting our quality requirements, and inevitably a lot of these people will be disappointed. Angry, in fact. Each time we give them the same message: that this group was founded to filter out those MOCs which are deemed 'bad', and that if it were any different, it would simply join the growing crowd of we-accept-anything groups.
Allow me to present the following analogy:
You are in a shop. There is something that you want to buy, but you don't have enough money for it; the guy behind the counter isn't going to give you a discount due to company policy. Of course, you can cry, beg and fling insults at him, but nothing will be achieved. You now have three options:

Read the rules(or no more nice Admins).Seriously everyone, Please read up on our rules and standards before submitting. Us admins are getting really tired of having to deny MOCs that are obviously crap, then having to explain that we have quality standards. Its not complicated you guys, read, be thorough, and if you have a question, ask us. Don't just join and start adding your crap. To old members who've been able to get MOCs in, please do your best to give advice to newer, younger, or less skilled MOCers. To the newer members who are having difficulty getting things approved, you need to realize there's a reason for this. We're not trying to be mean and simply say you suck, and discourage you, we're trying to encourage you to hone your skills as a MOCer. If you don't succeed the first time, then view it as a challenge. We don't grow as artists if we don't challenge ourselves. ANYWAY! There will soon be some updates of Avatar: The Last Airbender fanart, possibly some Hetalia fanfiction, and an allegorical piece about peer pressure. Life is unfair.
Life is brief.
Life is full of the unexpected.
Life is also full of monotonous routines.
There are some things which you can't prepare for.
There are some things which can't be expressed in words.
Something can seem very different depending on the angle at which you come at it.
If there is a God, I don't understand Her/Him.
If there is a God, I think that (S)He loves us.
If there is an afterlife, it had better be a heaven.
I refuse to believe in eternal punishment.
Everyone copes with crisis in different ways.
Cake is brilliant.
Nutella is also brilliant.
Eating and laughing are really fun ways to pass the time.
People are horrible.
People are wonderful.
People are two-faced.
People are unpredictable.
Some people are worth more than others. I don't like it, but it seems to be true.
Some people seem not to care at all.
Other people seem to care too much.

It's a common fact that these decks are cheap as fuck. Soon to be released to the OCG will be Number 22: Fran Ken, a Rank 8, 4500 ATK, Zombie Xyz monster. Two other Zombie monsters have been released known as Blue-Blooded Oni and Red-Headed Oni, who support Zombies using Xyz monsters. With Fran Ken, Zombies now have their first Xyz monster, a powerful beater with a perfectly fine effect on his own, but with the Oni he can be used to swarm the field. Zombies currently have another ace that counters Inzektor and Dino Rabbit, Zombie World. Thanks to Zombie World, their Xyz's are majorly restricted.
