View of the Mont Blanc and its reflection from the Italian mountain side. The fall colored grass and the setting sun bathe the entire scenery into a warm, atmospheric light.

A very beautiful sunset at the south of the volcanoes park, from the " Puy de la Vache " more precisely. There was a fascinating lighting and the landscape showed a beautiful set of colors complemented by a great sky.

There was a very powerful orange lighting for this sunset that turned all the landscape to this color, the clouds were quite amazing too.
This was taken from " Puy Saint Romain ", France.

This was taken during a recent trip near the "Puy de Sancy", a nice place in our region. The grass at this altitude has already its autumn colors in September.. I like the effect it creates, as if the mountain was covered in a sort of velvet, which is even more visible when a beautiful warm sunset light hits the mountain's flank.

This was taken in the french Pyrénées. A delicious morning light revealed the true splendor of those mountains, complimented by pretty cirrus clouds... a great moment.
The lake is called "Lac d'Aumar", definitely a very nice place !

Ephemeral and intense sunrise captured last week.
A strong golden light pierced through the clouds for a very short moment, painting the whole land and sky in gold. The mist covering the mountains away made the scene even more surreal.

The crazy epic storm that enveloped and infuriated the Coffs Coast just before sunset yesterday. I watched this cell slowly work it's way over the coastline, the thunder rumbling and lightning flashes to the west. Great way to kick start the week.

I spent labor day weekend up on the north rim of the grand canyon with a few fellow photographers and got to experience some of the views that are off the beaten path. For the most part, we had the park to ourselves with a few others poking in to the view points. I had the chance to camp along the rim (something I've always wanted to do) and meet some new people. This area is not off the beaten path, in fact, many of you have probably seen images from this location, but for me the real view was inside the canyon. We started our morning at 3am loading up our gear from our first campsite and headed an hour and a half to point imperial hoping for a good sunrise. We got there about an hour before hand and just waited out the light. We didn't get any dramatic light, but some nice skies and views. After about an hour and a half of shooting at this point we headed to cape royal. These were the only two points we reached via paved road. When we arrived it had began raining so we sat in the car for a few minutes as the rain began to lighten up a bit. With the sun already in the sky, I wasn't really expecting anything dramatic. With the on and off rain it was hit or miss or get everything wet. Once the rain finally let up this rainbow appeared from inside the canyon and some soft filtered light painted the canyon floor. This was really the first time I ever got a rainbow on camera that I liked. With a few shots taken, we headed some 22 miles on rough borderline 4x4 roads to our final point and had quite the light show at sunset. It was a grand experience for my first visit to the north rim and surely will not be my last.

From all of the amazing images I have seen of Mt Rainier and the paradise meadows, I knew I had to try and get a glimpse of this spectacle during a magical moment. This morning, could have went either way. I woke up at 5am, put on the boots, had to wake up the others who were willing to get up for another 5am morning call and headed for paradise. Upon leaving the campground, turning onto the main road had all but made me worry that I would never see the mountain. The thickest fog I've ever seen and been through, you couldn't see more than 25 feet in front of you. Luckily, it was only a short distance to make it to paradise, but due to the rain like fog it took much longer to get up there. Finally, we arrived at the parking lot, a few cars that were there the previous night still there and the mountain, still sleeping in the fog. I forced myself to continue on the trail whether the fog lifted or not, and search for any decent wildflower meadows. I didn't hike very far, and settled on this "nice" meadow full of lupine. It looked much fuller in person, but I hunched down and set up the gear. I fired off a few shots and then something special happened. The fog began to clear just as the sun broke. The conditions couldn't have been better. The light was unusual however, it wasn't quite vivid and orange like a typical sunrise. Instead, it turned into this pink purply color I hadn't seen before. The colors are partly due to the use of a grad ND filter, but I liked them and it complimented the lupine in the meadow. These conditions lasted almost the entire time I was amongst the trails as the sky began to get to a "normal" sunrise type color. I now know why they have deemed this place paradise.

Currently, there is no many clouds in the sky. The weather is really hot, too hot ... But one morning, near the Lac Bleu, there have been a sort of haze in the mountains, and the ambiance at the sunrise was really soft and peaceful. The wind made undulate the wild grass ... It was a very beautiful scene.
