The boy crouched on the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea, he couldn't have been over thirteen or 5 foot 3 as he stared down over the edge to the rocks below with green eyes, tan cargo shorts and a navy blue t-shirt made up his attire. A tiny forest bordered the cliff behind him as two people, obviously his friends make their way through this forest to him...
"Max!" the older of the boys called to the boy on the cliff...
I sigh and look back at Kyle, his black hair moving just enough to see him standing a few feet behind him.
"What?" I asked causualy.
"Why'd you leave?" Jake asks, stuffing his hands into his baggy jeans, he was 6 feet tall and had spiky brown hair and a scar that ran just under his left eye, which was blue. He had taken off his shirt, reavealing the sweaty muscles underneath.

One day, a young boy was wandering around the woods. His main objective was to find the legendary claw of the emperor of the dark dragons, an artifact that could give his owner powers beyond imagination. It was told that the mystical claw was hidden in a cave, guarded by a black dragon spirit. No one could defeat the guardian...because no one could touch it. Spirits were invincible...no weapon worked against them.
But that boy was different. He was the seven child of the royal family of the kingdom. His blood was pure, and his spirit was filled with the light of the heaven. His sword, powered by his very heart, was able to annihilate everything...even the strongest shadow spirit.
And so, with the shining sword in his hands, the boy walked into the darkness of the deepest part of the forest...home of the shadow spirits.

Some of Josh's "dragon-like" traits were the fact that he was a loner. He didn't have many friends. It was around 2 a.m. and everyone had gone to bed except Lee. He was a true deviantArt fanatic and was on the site as much as possible. It was hard at first though since he had to keep his account secret for the first couple of weeks until his parents found out.
Suddenly, Lee heard a familiar sound, a rattling metal fence. He let it go assuming it was a cat; being that there were many felines in the area. Around 30 seconds later he heard it again, going the other way! Lee knew something was up and, knowing he was the only one who heard it, went to the back door to have a look. He knew he was the only one who had heard it due to his acute hearing which he assumed came from being half blind in one eye with an astigmatism.

He grinned as the engine whined and grew labored as he climbed a hill. Inside his hummer was his squad of soldiers. One manned the .50 cal mounted on the roof. His other three sat in the seats, weapons at the ready. They all had a blank look on their face, prepared for the fight ahead. One of the soldiers checked his rifle safety and tapped his forward assist, making sure the bolt was forward. He smiled slightly and sat his weapon back on his lap. He looked over to the center of the vehicle and looked at the person sitting there. He snorted as the passenger held her hands in her lap, head hanging low. He looked out the window, out into the darkness. He bobbed as the humvee started to slow. The driver hit the brakes and the truck and skidded to a halt in front of a dense wooded area. He turned the switch to the hummer, the diesel engine sputtering and shutting off. The paExiled - Dragon TF in Fantasy More Like This
Dragoon Knight - Dragon TF Azmar sighed as he strode through the castle courtyard; a piece of paper gripped in his right hand and a killer headache nagging at his mind. He'd left his mount with a squire and his chainmail rustled slightly as he walked past the guard with a nod, re-reading the kings' letter in his mind requesting Azmar's assistance in dealing with what he assumed to be a rogue knight. Or perhaps some kind of felon that needed to be captured. Not that it mattered to him; all he needed to know was that he was going to be paid unlike the last fool who'd tried to cheat him out of his money. I can only have cold showers, or shall I say bath. Since my parents have not yet fixed the shower. I groaned as a gust of wind poured from the window and kissed my cheek, causing it to redden. The class bell rang, and students shouted with excitement, milling around him and exiting the classroom. He stayed seated, until only he and the teacher were left in the room.
He stood up and threw his bag over his shoulders, grunting slightly at the weight of text books and homework inside of it. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary though. He walked over to the teacher's desk and stopped, staring at the teacher.
The teacher slowly looked up, his expression changing to a weak, utterly fake smile.

He decided to be frank. "Why did I get a 55 on this paper?" He dropped the paper on the desk, with a bit too much force, betraying his frustration.

She looked out across the forest and shivered. In front of her was a large, mossy rock; the same rock she had walked passed half an hour ago. She groaned and looked down at her feet as she tried not to worry. But she was lost, hungry and tired. And she was lost. The voices in her head kept telling her so.
She sighed and ran a hand across the rock, feeling its fuzzy green coat as she kicked at a rock on the ground. It skipped and skittered away from her, disappearing under some trees. Then she yelled about how unfair it was.
She could feel herself slipping; her grip on reality fading. She couldn't let it slide, because she knew what would happen when she did. She knew the others in her mind too well.
She sat down in the dry dirt under the rock, holding her head in her hands. She'd had to deal with them for ever. Yet, she was still afraid. She was always afraid of what would happen when they took over.

I stepped out of the airport and into the cool Toronto air. The day was bright and the sky was clear. A light snow had fallen the night before, patches of it covering the grass around the airport. I towed my bad along grumbling as the wheel jumped over gravel and sidewalk salt. The flight hadn't been bad compared to normal (I occasionally get flight sick) but I still felt worn out from it. Regardless, they all knew what they were getting into and I was really happy that I was finally getting to meet them, and spend a week with most of them.
The fact that it had worked out in the first place was complete luck. Everyone was off of school at this time

I'd seen him before.
At first I was afraid of what I'd seen. I was seven. I could not see his face, for the sun had set and shadows surrounded me as I walked along the edge of the forest. I only saw his eyes: glowing red, staring at me through the darkness. But by the time I had acted upon my childish curiosity and walked over to where the eyes were, he was gone, disappeared into the shadows of nightfall.
It made me nervous. I wanted to know what it was I had seen in the forest. So my mind made up possibilities. I had dreams. They were intense dreams, violent dreams. I would awaken pumping with adrenalin, wanting more but never remembering what I had seen or done. And of course, there were the nightmares. In those, the eyes would haunt me, follow me, watching, always watching.
After a few weeks, sometimes months, the dreams would stop coming. Then, I would see his eyes again and the entire cycle would start over.
Eventually, I came to my senses and told my par

This year the rain showed no sign of stopping and it looked like it would be a soggy Halloween. It was the night before and the rain was still pounding relentlessly down. I was spending the time browsing around online and admiring some of the awesome costumes that people had created. My costume this year wasn't terrible but I was hardly satisfied with anything I did myself. It looked like it would be another one of those years where the last night before Halloween was spent running around gathering things to polish up my costume. The website I was on had given me a few ideas of what I could do to improve what I already had.
Plus this website had everything. The first thing that caught my eye was a sleek, realistic dragon creature with rather large fangs. After

When elementary students had a field trip, everyone knew about it. No one could escape the overjoyed screams and enthusiasm that came with telling a ten year old that he or she was going on a field trip, any field trip, the relief and excitement of not having to stay at school was simply too much for them to contain themselves; they could not help but tell everyone. Arron wished he didn’t have so many details; useless knowledge concerning departure times and things people were going to do while they were there. Their destination? Gettysburg. Their decibel level? Too high for Arron not want to cry and scream for them to be silent, if only for a minute.
He had quickly learned to carry a good set of earplugs, which brought the sound intensity to bearable levels once again. Being human had an advantage in this situation; Arron missed his ability to completely ignore everyone like he used to. It had been so peaceful before having the capability to hear a pin dro

The Greencastle High School cafeteria was as sparse as a desert. Arron was practically the first there. He took his seat with all his friends minus two, who were the only two included in the school population. Like countless other education facilities around the world, his food placed before him contained the aftertaste of the cardboard and plastic all foods were processed into. Arron couldn't decide if he would prefer to have a liquid concoction with all the necessary nutrients, or the unappetizing cooking in front of him. It wasn’t the food that made him feel somewhat precautious though; it was his friends.
Greencastle High School, a smaller public school consisting of just over two thousand students, was built in what felt like the dead center of a vast early twentieth century red brick forest. The modern asphalt roads and aging white concrete slabs with the electronic yellow street lights were most of the recent editions from a

Crap was in his mouth. A slimy turd nugget that if he broke open, it might ooze old puss and make him puke. After a successful hunt and filling meal, it was the last thing Theo wanted to happen. Though, by the way pathetic cries echoed out of his mouth like a new hatchling was inside, he debated on whether or not to bite down and find out if humans tasted better on the inside.
The sage dragon had long since left the earthly forest of darkness behind for his cave. He was not far, but he had left the safety of the trees for the barren rocky slope in the middle of an intense snow storm. He could tell it was day, but the clouds were so dark it might as well been dusk. In his talons was another dead log for his fireplace, but otherwise his paws crunched on all the snow that had fallen. With all the snow falling around him it was a surprise the ice crystals had yet to bury everything.
It was tough traveling even for Theo. His claws sometimes fell all the way through the snow

The week seemed to drag on forever as one blizzard abruptly followed the next, burying everything in white. Theo cleared the snow from his entrance each time there was a break, deciding that rolling a boulder in front would finally solve the problem. His food supply had begun to run low by the end of the week, signaling the time to hunt. Theo wasn’t entirely excited; he had felt the quakes of an avalanche only the day before or so. He decided to leave before dawn though, while the snow was frozen, and his big body could become incognito.
Theo felt the morning air before the sun could turn the black horizon blue. He threw the last of the wood on the fire; it was time to go. With a short jet of flame to keep the fire ablaze, he pushed the boulder away from the entrance, and went outside into the frosty early morning.
Stars still sparkled in the dark skies over him, and the crescent moon hung just above the eastern horizon. The bright sickle reminded Theo of an eye

He landed gracefully on the rocky ground as he normally did, and entered his stone home in the side of his snowy mountain. The weather had begun to pick up; he had just missed the first blizzard of the season. It was too early for them, Theo thought. Bad weather accompanied with long winters meant that he would need to wait some time before he could make a new home.
Theo took a lasting glance at everything he had made his cave to be. It was a simple abode; three rooms, all fitted for his size. The first was the main living room, the same room he had just entered. It contained a stone table that he had crafted for both humans and dragons to eat on, complete with wooden chairs he had whittled from tree stumps and hardened with his flame. On the walls Theo had placed what he considered art; large flat rocks on a shelf he had stacked up like a pyramid, a teepee of logs angled perfectly on another shelf, and ferns in logs with holes cut out the middle of them, like the pott

John took his seat in front of the reporter's camera. There he waited for the interview he had agreed to take. His interviewer was a young woman dressed well for the occasion, barely thirty at best. She sat across from him amidst his green room. His library climbed the sage walls on tan oak shelves all around them like castle ramparts. A single window dimly lit the room, covered by curtains the same as the walls, a maroon and auburn series of stripes allowing the perfect illumination to capture the atmosphere. John acknowledged her presence with a curt nod as she cleared her throat one more time, somewhat nervous of the imposing figure before her.
"Are you ready, sir?" she asked, her voice complete with respect and admiration.
"I am, shot away." He answered. He found a very comfortable position in his recliner, but refrained from his desire to lean back as he usually did.

Well, back to the drawing board.
Indeed, it's respawning in a game.
Life is no game.
The question 'how are you', is not a fitting inquiry.
Yes, another should be asked in its stead.
'How long has it been since you last fell?'
What question is better to ask how you are than this?
No sir, no sir,
I have no challenger.
I almost didn't get up.
I know what happens if I no longer stand.
I start again,
As fallen we must stand,
For the reaper will make our seeds sow no more if we become fallen forever.
To stand again is to start over.
Square one is very familiar to me.
To a glorious new beginning I pray,
An amazing adventure to behold, I say.
How long as it been since you last fell?
