Let's just go over what I posted yesterday: I voiced that I have no opinion on guns in America, because I don't live there and as such; don't care. I said that I, personally, am afraid of guns and think they're industrial killing machines. And I posed a vague, hypothetical question that could have been applied to any situation where an old law/doctrine is in effect.
That's it. Nothing more. Harshest word in there was "change" followed by a question mark. Not "ban", not "make guns illegal" and certainly not "outlaw free speech and trial by jury", which some people with a slightly looser grasp on reality seem to think go hand in hand with owning the firearms I said I don't care about.
Well, today, I am going to post an opinion: if you're the kind of insecure, paranoid little twit that flies off the handle when someone poses a simple question, and who holds weapons and the laws that permit them with such religious reverence that you perceive that question as not

Because they're never finished.
In the race to get them out the door, and thanks in total to broadband connections, they are buggy and full of holes.
You never get a complete game for the huge sum of money you're expected to pay for them.
Case in point: Borderlands 2.
I've just encountered a bug that renders a mission impossible to complete (The "Get to know Jack" mission), meaning I won't be able to fully complete the game ..not that I could anyway, because the game I own isn't actually finished.

List is in order of appearance:
Princess Daphne (Dragon’s Lair, 1983)
Daphne is a cliché, blonde damsel in distress, yes, but she’s a cliché, blonde damsel in distress that was animated by Don Bluth, who had a stack of Playboy magazines on hand while he was drawing her.
Tyris Flare (Golden Axe, 1989)
Like a Frank Frazetta pic come to life….and then dressed in a bright white bikini by the Censors.
Also: That 360 game of hers really wasn’t that bad.
Blaze Fielding (Streets of Rage 2, 1992)
At some point between Streets of Rage 1 and Streets of Rage 2, Blaze must have washed her costume at the wrong temperature, because there’s a lot less of it. The horror.
Cammy (Super Street Fighter 2, 1993)
Chun Li had legs. Cammy has LEEEEEGS. And a perpetual wedgie.

Raiders of the Lost CartA search is currently underway to debunk/proove true one of Video Game history's great myths: are there really millions of old E.T. Atari game cartridges buried out in the New Mexico desert?Raiders of the Lost Cart in Personal More Like This
For the XBox generation: Atari's 1982 game, based (and I use that word very loosely) on the inexplicably popular film about an intergalactic gob of faecal matter with Christmas tree lights for fingers and his quest to call his mates up and ask why the bastards ran off without him, is widely regarded as one of the worst games in the history of the planet. A game so bad that, with so many carts being returned or simply left unsold, it caused the video games industry to nearly sh*t itself into extinction.
Urban legend tells us that Atari loaded the millions of little boxes of Fail onto trucks, shipped them off to the desert and buried them (along with, we assume, a programmer or two), then coated the site with concrete.

For those not in the know; SPECTRE was the villainous organisation that was constantly trying to trigger World War 3 in the early Bond movies and pretty much every super-villain that 007 was sent out to stop was a member of the SPECTER hierarchy. At the top of this criminal network was the shadowy figure known only as “Number One”, who, after a multi-film build-up, personally introduced himself to Bond (and the audience) during You Only Live Twice as Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
Now, the last anyone saw of Blofeld was when Roger Moore dropped him down a chimney, and SPECTRE was never mentioned again because of an ongoing squabble over ownership of the name. During Daniel Craig’s tenure as Bond, an underworld organisation identical to SPECTRE was hinted at but, disappointingly, named “Quantum”. More disappointingly, despite being really rather goo

The Battle of Five Armies has some of the most impressive CGI/practical fantasy effects I've ever seen. The armor, the locations, the clothing, the props...all excellently and believably crafted. The acting is fine. The music is fine. The directing, the choreography, some of the choices made that were not in line with the book were still logical and intelligent (such as the men of Laketown arming themselves with the weapons of ruined Dale and dwarves fighting in a shield phalanx.)
But for every decent idea, great set, awesome effect or exciting battle there was strung throughout this really disconcerting trend of either not trusting the audience to get subtlety or having no sense of restraint. Nothing in this film with very few exceptions was just allowed to function. A battle wasn't a battle until it was WAY too complicated. Single combat isn't enough it needs to take place on a collapsing bridge formed of a tower propped between a cliff! P

Because I enjoy movies a lot I have an invested interest in improving them which is why I spend so much effort tearing some of them apart. Even movies I dislike I don't think are beyond saving as pieces of quality entertainment.
The Mummy is not deep, it's not Shakespearian, it's not always entirely logically sound.
But it was and remains a darn good time.
For one thing The Mummy is several genres coupled together but not at odds: Action, Humor, and Horror.
A lot of films believe they need to compromise on genre elements to transition between diverse emotions, atmospheres and story types, but The Mummy managed to blend these three subtypes into a near perfect and consistent mix.

Maybe the wealthier characters arrive on their funding but the underclass characters are there by necessity as laborers or even fugitives. Episode by episode these characters would encounter their own adventures as well as be part of the ongoing insidious degradation of the city under the sea. The opening scene, without spoilers mentioned, is COMPLETELY incongruous with the rest of the movie, has little baring on the plot except for some superficial details and largely pointless callbacks, and takes up far too much time.
But aside from that GREAT.
This movie has a massive reliance on computer animation and it knows how to use it. Every instance of space crafts, alien worlds, massive cities, strange buildings and creatures is so outlandish, detailed and imaginative you can't possibly recreate it without the use of special effects.

Debuting in the 1984 Hong Kong film ”King of Snake” (alias ”Daai se Wong"), Mosler is a ridiculously bright, pet rat snake who becomes a giant, after being exposed an experimental growth device / formula dubbed R19.
Mosler is a fairly peaceful serpent however, even at his enlarged mass. But is forced to become violent, after The Chinese Mafia, in a desperate attempt to capture R19, kidnaps Mosler’s owner, a little girl named Ting Ting.
Thus Mosler goes on a massively destructive rampage to retrieve her, while unintentionally killing untold numbers of innocent bystanders in his search.
Like a lot of Hong Kong cinema during the 1980’s, and well into the late 1990’s, ”King of Snake” has an alarmingly uneven tone, cha

Our friend :iconkaijusamurai: posted a follow-up on Toho's announcement of a new Godzilla film, slated for 2016. And if that wasn't awesome enough, the upcoming Godzilla video game will also be getting an American release for summer 2015!
This new Japanese-made Godzilla film is being made independently from the Legendary Pictures version.
But I gotta say...who's ever heard of a two-pronged franchise with separate, but directly connected facets in both America AND Japan, that's also equally successful in both countries? That's just unheard of, and doomed to failure, I sarcastically say!
Now, let's talk about a monster from "Power Ranger"!
I’m NOT going to get into my complicated feelings towards the ongoing Super Sentai series, as well as its American counterpart, Power Rangers.
But if there’s one element I love, which keeps bringing me back every year, it’s the monstrous villains, who combine

"Inhumanoids: Primal Passions
The 1980's cartoon (loosely inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft), was a fairly strait faced affair when it came to its main villains, the subterranean beasts which included the demonic tyrant Metlar, the dinosaur zombie D.Compose, and the destructive plant being Tendril. But as with all cartoon shows from this era, even the Inhumanoids had their silly moments, with this as a particularly infamous example!
A failed chemical experiment puts our three monstrous villains...well...in the mood, who then seek out worthy mates for each of them. Though to be honest, only D.Compose ends up somewhat successful, by re-hooking up with the human heroine Sandra Shore. You can watch this surreal episode in the following link:

Story: Xeranad's Poker NightHello everyone! It is I, Angel Falls resident Lord of Darkness, and guess what? I'm bored. Now, normally when this sort of feeling hits me I start killing people left and right, but I thought I'd try something different this time. I've rented out a casino cruise liner, and I just so happen to have three slots available for a certain tourney I have planned.Story: Xeranad's Poker Night in Personal More Like This
I'm, of course, talking about the greatest gambling sport of all time, poker!
That's right, I am both hosting and participating in a poker tournament, and I extend this invitation to my fellow rogues, ne'er-do-wells and all around bad guys of this proud city! Unfortunately, I'm afraid I only have room for three more people... it makes me sad, but some of you may not make the cut. But don't fret... I'll let you onto the boat anyway, if only to enjoy yourselves with other forms of gambling.
And, if this turns out not to be as fun as I thought it would be, I can always shoot a harpoon into the captain's face, ram this sucker into an ice

They definitely emphasize that they have nothing against CGI as a tool, but after the majority of their work on THE THING (2011) was either replaced or painted over with shoddy CG, they decided to pool their own resources to make a new, THING-esque film with ALL practical effects and monsters. Granted, they need a little help, since it'd be almost impossible to get this sort of film made today.

Personally? I like it. It's...well, it's Godzilla! Kind of a big blend of everything that's come before. One thing I find most intriguing are the eyes. They aren't as fierce as we're more or less used to seeing...which says to me that this isn't really representative of Godzilla's entire range of emotion. Edwards went on record stating that Godzilla's "character" has been coming through in the visual effects process, so perhaps this is simply a neutral state for his face? Will the monster become considerably angrier-looking in the film? Time will tell! For the moment, he's a beast of intelligence and ancient power. There's something softer behind those eyes that the blind, unfurled rage we've so often been witness to in the past.

-A friend reminded me that a little something called ATTACK OF THE FRIDAY MONSTERS! A TOKYO TALE came out on the 3DS virtual store recently.
I heartily recommend it to all of my fellow kaiju-lovers. Here's the catch, though - it's one of those pesky stories where battling titans are not, in fact, the point. It's a love-letter to not just the tokusatsu genre, but rather, the nostalgiac childhoods of many a Japanese citizen, growing up in the 1960's, where monsters and heroes were all the rage, and kids played outside and had their own adventures. It's GOONIES meets GODZILLA'S REVENGE with a dash of DEMEKING, with a heaping helping of ULTRAMAN GAIA: BATTLE IN HYPERSPACE.
The story is ultimately one of childhood. The peaceful Japanese suburb calls to mind the sort of kaiju story that Hayao Miyazaki would create - it revels in the mundane beauty of Japanese suburban life. I would normally say that those who are "expecting" a royal monster rumble would be "disappointed"...but that's

From Hideaki Anno:
Godzilla exists in a world of science fiction, not only of dreams and hopes, but he’s a caricature of reality, a satire, a mirror image. Recently, Japan has also been careless in the way it has attempted to depict him. In all honesty, Japanese production budgets and schedules are so tight, compared to the world’s capitol [Hollywood], not to mention the constraints imposed on filmmakers in terms of content. Frankly, I’m not sure how far outside the lines we can go.
However, movies have pride, even trifling little films; therefore, just as in the case of the new EVAs, I’m going in full force. When I think about what I’ve accomplished, the twists and turns befitting a screenplay, everything has led to this point. I write this with the hope that the reader might understand at least to some degree that no matter
8 facts about XeranadIt's the sadistic dark lord's turn now.8 facts about Xeranad in Personal More Like This
1) A common misconception I have seen in artworks featuring Xeranad is that his armor is often a dark grey and sometimes even black. Just to clarify: his armor is SNOW WHITE in color. I chose white simply because of how sharply it contrasted with the rest of the outfit's blacks and reds. I didn't want the stereotypical appearance, yet I didn't want to stray too far from what makes the dark lord type character so imposing.
2) Xeranad doesn't wear a mask to hide his identity... he wears it to basically make himself look less human and thus make it harder for you to understand him. And people fear what they don't understand.
3) The dimension Xeranad controls, the Dark Dimension, used to be a lush paradise. Then he stumbled upon it and basically used it as an experiment... in lack of a better term, he RAPED the place dry. BY HIMSELF. (I'll reveal the Dark Dimension's true name at a later date)
4) When I write Xeranad, I usually try to make Xeranad se

Here are the characters who inspired the creation of my most vile and twisted of villains, Xeranad Lekard.
1 ) ANY DARK LORD
Pick a dark lord type character. Is it Sauron? Voldemort? Darth Vader? Darkseid? Ganondorf? While all of them certainly attribute to the sheer terror that Xeranad can inspire in the characters, the best ones, at least for me, are options one and three. Also Exdeath from Final Fantasy V... seriously an underrated villain (I don't care if he is cliche, he got within a gnat's whisker of achieving his goal).
2 ) Nyarlathotep
Nyarlathotep of H.P. Lovecraft lore inspired Xeranad's unique existence and nature, basically being an amalgamation of evil intent and desire. As such, Xeranad is just as incapable of compassion as Nyarlathotep, though he can certainly fake it.
3 ) Warach

Yep, I'm sure you've at least heard of Captain Marvel. While he does share a name with a hero from the Marvel comics, they are easily different characters. Hell, there was even a lawsuit battle between the creators of Superman and the creators of Captain Marvel (due to how similar the two characters were). His origin, however, is the real reason I put him on here: Billy Batson gets on a subway and ends up in a mysterious tunnel and meets the wizard Shazam, who gives him his godlike powers t

3: Among all the villains Aria has faced, she only hold two of them in contempt: Xeranad Lekard (for obvious reasons), and her boyfriends evil alter ego, Concussion (mostly because in her eyes he's evil without having any reason to be). She has no hatred for Ultrawoman (in fact, she actually respects her, but doesn't agree with her methods), or General Shadow (whom she believes has ultimately become Xeranad's pawn). Mindy's Terrible TrioIn regards to Mindy's power levels and such, Spider-Man has been a bit of an inspiration (in comparison to Marvel Universe as a whole, he's not close to being the most powerful but he holds his own) so the Sinister Six concept, having six of his rogue's gallery team up to take him down, was interesting and I'd like to apply something similar to that for her.Mindy's Terrible Trio in Personal More Like This
Now, I don't believe that Mindy could take on 6 top flight villains at once (that's what the Guardians are for after all) but maybe 3 is the magic number. At least that's what Schoolhouse Rock taught me.
So I'm curious to hear opinions of your optimal 3 person team to battle Mindy. For me, it starts with Dark Inferna. A re-worked Potentia would add muscle to the group. As for the third slot, I really like Eviscerare. He would be the brains and a leader of sorts (plus he might be a bit crazy).

Need a Code Name or Call SignYup. It's sad ain't it? I have a character that may have some potential, and he doesn't have a name to go by aside his own. This is mainly because it's difficult to come up with something. Though I think his name would work for what is required. Not all heroes have a dual identity. Doc Savage, is a prime example of this. For him their was no sense since everyone already knew who he was. And he can't really do anything to change it. At least when people knew him by name and association, they held high regards to him. Tony Stark is the same way. For a while he tried to keep it a secret, but then again, he isn't shy to admit it either.Need a Code Name or Call Sign in Personal More Like This
