as he walked into the now loud classroom "huh?" he said puzzled as he looked at all the children laughing makeing small bins colorfully decorated with hearts and candy drawn on them.
zim turned to miss bitters who seemed to be more grumpy than usual "teacher drone! what is everyone prepareing for? tell me!!!!" he said holding a fist triomphantly over his head, mrs.bitters
then growled at zim "THEY are preparing for valentines day EVERY student is required to give eachother valentines!" zim stood there puzzled "what is a valentine?" he mummbled to himself.
but before he could ask mrs.bitters she had already returned to what she was doing. "i must find out what this "VALENTINES DAY" is" zim said to himself as he woundered around asking others

"I'm not being a baby!" Zim protested, digging his heels into the ground to try and stop Dib from pulling him forward. "I just don't feel like telling your father about us! What if he doesn't take it well?"
"Oh, you know he likes you."
"But what if he reacts negatively to the news that his son is well "
"If he really loves me, he won't care if I'm gay." Dib gave Zim's arm an extra hard tug and got him to start walking again. "Look, we need to get this over with. He knows I've been going out with someone. And he thinks you're a very nice, smart person. He's my father; he's going to accept me no matter what."
"Well, okay but if something bad happens, I'm blaming you," Zim said, finally walking on his own. He pulled his arm out of Dib's grip and folded them across his chest.
"And we're going to tell him the whole truth," Dib went on as he opened the door.

That Dib-child just made Zim so furious sometimes. If it weren't for that monkey, he would have taken over this wretched planet years ago. And it didn't help matters that they were in Hi-Skool by now and Dib was almost seven feet tall. Insanely tall compared to the short Invader. Zim, of course, hated Dib even more because of that.
By now they had reached some sort of mutual agreement; neither was capable of winning their endless battle. They were just too evenly matched somehow. They had also discovered that if either were to be permanently defeated, the other would most likely end up depressed and lose their drive.
So actual physical battles ceased to be about a year ago. Now they just insulted each other across the classroom or threw stuff at each other. No different than any other Hi-Skool rivalry, really.
It was the worst time of the year right now. Winter. Temperatures dropped to below freezing and frozen water fell from the sky. Harsh winds blew. It was

"Hmm well, it's been a while since I slammed a nerd's face into a locker," Chunk commented, nodding.
"Class is over in ten minutes. We'll get him on the way to lunch." Torque chose a ten-pound weight and started lifting that in one hand, watching Dib with distaste.
Dib finished writing, looked over the paper, and nodded, taking out his laptop to start writing the final draft.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the classroom, Zim was leaning back in his seat with his feet propped up on the desk and a notebook on his knees, mostly doodling instead of writing like he was supposed to be. He glanced at the teacher, but she w

Zim's eye twitched and Dib ducked out from under the arm, fairly disturbed. "Okay how do you play it?"
"The first person to get creeped out loses," Keef explained. He ran his hand down the side of Dib's face.
"AH!" Dib jolted back and tripped, falling hard on his back. His glasses tilted and hung off of one ear, looking like they would fall at any moment.
"You lose!" Keef shouted.
Zim laughed at Dib before offering him a hand to help him up. It was currently recess, and bored, the two had decided to talk to an old friend and ask him advice on what they should do. They were regretting it now.
"So basically, we feel each other up and the first one to freak out loses?" Zim asked to make sure.
Keef nodded eagerly.
Zim smirked. "Dib-thing, would you like to play with Zim?"
Dib blushed, pushing his glasses a little further up his nose, and nodded.

"Don't have much purpose?" Dib repeated. "Dude, they take in harmful carbon dioxide and emit oxygen. Humans breathe oxygen."
"Oh, right. Wait, this is oxygen we're breathing?" Zim looked surprised by this bit of information. "Huh."
Dib sighed. "Didn't you pay attention in science class for the last " He counted the number of years Zim has been here, "Five years?"
"Nope. I already knew all of it and I BSed the tests." Zim leaned down to examine a bee as it alighted on a flower, sucking out the nectar. A thin film of pollen coated its fat body.

Zim glared out the window of his house at the deadly white flakes drifting down. They looked so harmless and almost serene. If it wasn't for the fact that they were nothing more than frozen water, which could cause severe burns unless he was prepared. Since he didn't want to take a paste bath, though, he was staying inside where it was toasty warm and waiting until the snow stopped.
GIR was outside building a snowman while MiniMoose looked for rocks to use for the facial features. GIR waved at Zim. "Mastah, come outside! Please?" His voice was loud enough that it was easily heard from inside.
For about the tenth time in the past few minutes, Zim shook his head. "No GIR! The snow can burn me, remember?"
"Then wear a hoodie!"
"A hoodie?" Zim hadn't thought of that. "Computer, my jacket."
Computer threw a red, hooded jacket at him. Its left chest pocket was marked with the irken insignia. He pulled it on and zipped it all the way up, then laid his ante
ZaDR - JealousyZim glared at Dib from across the lunch room. The teenager was talking happily with Gretchen, completely ignoring Zim.ZaDR - Jealousy in Fan Fiction More Like This
Zim clenched his fists under the table as an unidentifiable emotion boiled in him, white-hot. It certainly wasn't jealousy. Of course not. Why did he care if Dib was talking to the females? He didn't care at all. It kept him distracted. So he could work on an evil plan without being noticed. Or something.
He shoved his tray of school food aside and took a blueprint out of his PAK, spreading it out and drawing on it, humming loudly, watching Dib out of the corner of his eye.
Dib glanced at him and made a move as if to get up, then changed his mind and relaxed again, looking back at Gretchen. She smiled at him, flashing her perfect teeth; years of heavy-duty dental work had finally paid off. She didn't have braces anymore and her overbite was gone; she was quite beautiful now.
Zim growled to himself and put the blueprint away. Time for Plan B. He reached down to pi

"Come on, Zim!" Dib called from the water. He waved at him. "The water's fine!"
Zim glared at him. "No, I hate Earth water! I didn't want to come to the beach anyway, but you talked me into bringing you here!"
He had used the Voot cruiser to fly them to the East Coast, going down almost to Florida in favor of warmer weather and larger waves. He had bathed in paste beforehand, but he didn't plan on going in the water.
Dib shrugged. "All right, your loss." He fixed his glasses, which were strapped tightly to his head with a band so the waves wouldn't knock them off. Then he swam back out.
Zim eventually sat down in the sand. He was still wearing a shirt and pants, though Dib had convinced him to wear swim trunks underneath, just in case. It was too hot to keep boots on; his legs were getting sweaty. He reached down to pull th

Dib sighed sadly as he looked at a picture of Zim, standing as proud as he could despite his short stature, hands on his hips and grinning, obviously pleased that his picture was being taken. He was in disguise; the obviously fake black wig and purple contacts normally would have made the teen laugh, but he couldn't now. Not when he hasn't seen the irken for nearly two years...
He closed his eyes as he remembered the last time he had seen him.
It was ninth grade, about halfway through the school year. In an attempt to make school more fun and perhaps revive some crushed spirits, a school dance was held. It was nothing formal, and you could come in whatever you wanted as long as it adhered to the dress code, that is. But no one paid attention to that stupid thing anyway.
Zim seemed somewhat interested in going, most likely because he wanted to learn more about Earth culture or maybe play a few pranks on some unsuspecting humans.
Dib wasn't sure, but he did know he wasn't going to

Okay, so the first half of this chapter is gonna be trough Dib's P.O.V. because it's sooo much easier to explain things through his eyes.
Sixteen years ago was the beginning of my end. On the day of my birth I was taken away from a human nursery on the planet Earth and was raised by an Irken service drone in order to serve my one and only master. The drone told me that Master had bought me legally and therefore I was his forever, but I know I was stolen. Human slaves are illegal in every galaxy, and on every planet. Well, besides Earth, but I never have, and never will admit I know that. I don't need another reason for Master to 'correct' me...
On the day of my second year my master, Blin, assigned me as his personal slave. He told me if I was questioned, I was to 'refer myself as his adopted son.', whatever that was... Master Blin uses many terms that I do not understand, but I've learned to never question him, or it'll lead to more 'correcting'.
For the next five years, there

My master once told me that there was a time when all galaxies were isolated from one another; No one dared venture into the depths of space in fear of being captured or even killed by some unknown alien race. That was until the inhabitants of Irk did what no other species dreamed of...
The Irken leader, Tallest Myuki, ordered her best technicians to build something that could easily cruise around space without a single complication. The process took a gruesome eighty years, but the Irken's did it; They built the first space vessel to ever travel such great distances without any problems or hindrance.
The Viral Tank.
Large in size, the Viral Tank could withstand the journey not only out of Irk's atmosphere, but also that of any other unknown planet's atmosphere. Along with herself, Tallest Myuki chose the most suitable Irken scientists to have total control over the Viral Tank.
And that's when those chosen Irken's found did it.

I hate this.
I hate the look on your face: Lost, scared, tired. I hate how we let ourselves become this weak, shuddering from pain but so transfixed in the silence that surrounds us. Ever so gently, I reach out my worn out palm and caress your singed flesh that was once so perfectly smooth. Your maroon orbs scan across my features, searching for something but what that something is is anyone's guess.
Then you smile.
It wasn't one of your egotistical, cocky, "I'M BETTER THAN YOU FILTHY BAGS OF FLESH FOR I AM ZIM!" smiles. No. It was something- wonderful. So wonderful that it was painful. With a shaky tri-fingered hand, you lightly smack my cheek. "That l'k... d'snt f't you... hyooman."

Finally growing tired of the sound, Red yelled at Purple."Pur, it's been three HOURS. Put down the disgusting earth food that idiot Zim sent and do something productive!"
Tallest Purples' eyes widened comically. He looked down at the sugary treats in his hands and then back at Red. "Bu- but Reeeeed~. They're soooooooo good!" He gave the other tallest puppy dog eyes, his lip pouting adorably. "Earth sweets are soooooo much better than Irks!"
Red sighed and rolled his eyes. "I've known you since we were smeets Pur. That look lost its effect a LONG time ago."

"Ugh! I hate this weather!" Dib complained as he stood outside of Hi Skool, watching the rain fall mercilessly to the ground. He looked over at the Irken that stood to his left. Who, much to his satisfaction, was shorter than him. After four years of being on the planet the Irken had realized that his old attire had been deemed 'weird,' and in his attempt to successfully blend in with the humans he had taken the human with him to purchase clothing that was 'normal', which consisted of very dark colors. On every outfit Zim had stitched a pink insignia of his Irken empire. The invader had also customized a longer wig to hide his growing antenna.
After the shopping trip the two became something more- not enemies, and at the same time, they were not friends. Their relationship had grown into something like an

The Irken hummed to himself, picking up various objects only to set them back down again. After a few minutes, Zim turned away from his observations in favor of the boy.
“This lab is impressive.” He said excitedly. “It’s a fair size, has a good amount of tools,” he then grinned sadistically. “There’s even chemicals in here I could only dream of using!” Letting out a content sigh, he turned away from Dib and stared into his lab. “With these materials, I could create a whole new era of weaponry for the Armada.” Dib watched silently as the black stalks upon the other’s head wilted slightly. “Or myself.” Nodding his head, the Irken set out to do just that.

Upon entering the room the alien let out a slight sigh as his ruby orbs scanned over every inch of Dib’s frail body before he slowly made his way up to the small cage. Leaning his back against the cool bars, Zim stared forward at the grey, metalic wall, reluctant to see the damage he had caused.
The silence in the near empty room seemed almost deafening; the only sound seemed to come from the Irken’s heart as it drummed heavily into his antenna. Minutes passed before the Irken could no longer take the overwhelming silence. “Why is the Dib acting like this?” he asked, a hint of unease slipping past his dry lips. The drone worked fast and efficiently and once everything was once again right, she wasted no time in kicking the rude Irken out of the room.
The two walked down one of the halls on the main level of the home. Dib stifled laughter as Zim mumbled under his breath, complaining that the medic had treated his lifesource carelessly. Zim slowly propped himself up in a sitting position before stretching his tired muscles with a mewling yawn, his serpentine tongue flicking out and danced across dry lips.
The Irken swung his legs over the side of the bed and stared at the metal door before him. He desperately tried to sort out groggy thoughts as they flooded into his mind. His first priority was to get his PAK back to full function, but in order to do that he'd need to confront the Blin. He frowned. If he could he would avoid the other at all costs.
But it is crucial if I am to get what I want.

However, the person who knew him better than anyone was his worst enemy.

But, now he was 23 and the alien was giving up. Not that he wanted to or even admitted to it outright, still shielding himself behind empty plans. But, there was something in his eyes. Those maroon orbs usually so violently flickering back and forth, narrowing with greed were dull.
So, Dib knew. And he watched the Irken, his greatest enemy and possibly his only friend walk away down their neighborhood, head bent to the sidewalk. The setting sun painted his green skin a light orange. He knew what Zim was walking away from, what the irken was denying. The same he’d always denied. The fear, the fault, the responsibilities, the truth. Poor little alien so far from home, so b

Zim despised water; it could drown, boil and freeze.
Zim loathed with a passion tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis and any natural disaster that one could think of.
He was sure if it was possible he would murder in the cruelest way possible any and all wild animals that could eat, spread disease or go rabid.
Zim detested the sun for it burned and caused things such as 'strokes'.
Zim hated cars and trains and speed boats and subways and motorcycles that could crash into an unsuspecting person. Those things could squish you flat as a waffle.
There was construction machines, electricity, sharp objects and poison. Swallow able objects, fatty food, and rope.
But out of everything he hated, one thing stood out the most above all; Zim hated humans.
They lied, cheated, turned into cannibals or axe murders. They spread toxins and committed suicide. They had no conscience m

At this moment, Zim was only aware of the human that held him. It didn't matter that he had his wig on, and his antennae were hindered by the fabric; Zim knew that even without it, he would only be able to sense Dib. Enveloped by his warmth and scent, Zim couldn't think of anyplace he'd rather be.

And you would fight for Zim out of loyalty?" Zim questioned finally. It was a strange thought; all these years of fighting each other, why would Dib fight for Zim out of loyalty?
Dutifully, Dib scooped out the vanilla cream and plopped it onto the cone before handing it over to the alien menace. "Here, your majesty. I hope you enjoy. I lost a leg while getting it for you but, it was worth it." Once the ice cream was handed off, the teen walked over to the register to pay for their cones, wondering if the old man recognized him. From the dimness in his expression, Dib guessed 'no'. Somehow it was both a relief and a disappointment
Zim rolled his eyes at Dib. He liked the idea of Dib being his faithful knight, but the human's obvious sarcastic tone was ruining the imagery.
Hesitantly the alien tasted the plain white treat, this time not being surprised by the frostiness. This one was a much more subtle sweetness; it was creamy and surprisingly good.

CHAPTER 1 Part 1
It was the night before Christmas and all through the Membrane household not a creature was stirring well unless you count a skinny, pale, large headed boy at about the age of 8 as a creature.
Dib's glasses, which were much too large for his face began slipping down as the boy peered around the corner and into the living room where their scrawny tree stood, with its bare branches. Well, bare except for a few tiny bulbs in the shapes of various mythical creatures; bigfoot, moth men, werewolves, monsters of the unusual sorts and of course UFOs.
Dib loved UFOs. Well, he loved the paranormal in general. But, to be as specific as possible, Dib loved Aliens. He adored what they stood for. Life outside of this tiny, crude planet. How they had so many possibilities. So much amazing technology. And of course those funny limbs and eyes.
The little(well not so little anymore) boy skidded out from behind his cover, now that he was satisfied

Dib was almost content sitting in the heated afternoon or at least that what he resolutely told himself. With his girl friend leaning on his chest, hands around her waist and sipping on poop cola, he was feeling almost complete. Almost like he could lose himself in the normalcy of it all and forget for a little bit that his life was all but falling apart at the seams now.
Key word; almost. Because even as Gretchen blabbered about something meaningless and normal, he felt it. The shivery sensation of being watched. Of big, false eyes that probed the edges of this monotone dream that was too good to be true.
They were following his every move, silently moc

The commanders and generals walked past them, an inspection. They hardly gave Zim a glance, almost missed him entirely for he hardly qualified to be a soldier, standing chest height with many of the others.
Cold eyes passed over him and then continued. He relaxed minutely. Another test passed. And there had been many up until then, leading to this great moment when the newest generation of smeets would graduate from the Academy and lead the rest of their lives above the surface of Irk or beyond the stars, exploring the universe.
When they called his name to 'officially' encode him with his duty, Zim almost missed it.

He had heard these words before, from a varying range of other Irkens as time had passed and even from The Almighty Tallest themselves on a few occasions. But he never believed a word of it. He thought back to his existence evaluation. The Tallest had pushed his date up a couple of decades. He didn't want to come to the realization that they did that with malicious intent then. His loyalty to his leaders burned strong. The only reason he even lived through his evaluation is because his PAK was too much for the Control Brains to handle. Thinking back, he didn't realize to the full extent what was happening to him or the Brains. Just that the Brains declared him the greatest Invader ever. Dib always enjoyed being out during the night. He gazed dreamily at the stars as he walked. Dib walked up to his gym locker and grabbed his gym clothes. He walked over to a toilet stall to change. Just as he turned around to shut the door he saw that stupid green alien standing there. His heart skipped a beat.
"Where have you been all day?" He asked. Zim shrugged.
"This is the only class that amuses Zim." The alien replied. Zim had his own gym clothes in hand and entered the stall next to Dib. One thing they had in common. They did not like to change in front of others. Although Dib was sure that Zim did so because his anatomy was probably different, Dib's reason for this behavior was much more personal.
