Finally had a chance to meet and work with the awesome *yayacosplay!
She is probably one of the most professional cosplayer I ever worked with. The poses, attitude, costume, and of course a very friendly person to work with too!

Though due to a very limited time (from her tight schedule) to pull her out for a mini-shoot from the convention, I really appreciate and honored to get this chance to work with her!

Truly hope to have a chance to do a proper photoshoot with her in future! :D

Eeeeeh! I am so excited about the sharing the images from the photoshoot I recently did with Bryan Humphrey! More coming soon!

Character: Catwoman from Arkham City (video game)
Costume made by: Yaya
Model: Yaya
Photography: Bryan Humphrey

How I made this:
This costume was made in 50 hours, but only takes 5 minutes to put on lol. To match the hexagon fabric in the video game, I had the pattern designed by my friend Jinyo and printed up at Fabric On Demand. The secondary fabric is a rubber coated spandex.
Cathy of :icongstqfashions: saved me hours of work by graciously letting me base my bodysuit off of the pattern she had made already for this same costume for a customer. I had to redesign most pieces of the pattern to fit my bodyshape and height, but it was nice to not have to make a full mock-up from scratch, and with my tight work schedule, I appreciated every second of time saved.
I sewed the costume entirely myself, as usual, making sure to triple-stitch the seams (100+ of them) and also top stitch all of them. I also made the matching accessories such as gloves/hood/ears/sculpted metal bits/altered boots etc.
I re-used the goggles from my other Catwoman costume because I kind of hate the design of the Arkham City goggles, and I already made perfectly usable Catwoman goggles before. :)

This was the last photo we took at 3am, after 4 hours of photo shooting. I only realized the next day that this photo's posing resembled the official Arkham City promo artwork for Catwoman. Bryan did some post-processing to give the photo a similar treatment as the promo art and this is the result! I am so thrilled over this image! As a cosplayer, I enjoy the challenge of imitating a fantastical fictional character, and photographs like this reflects the hard work I put into the costume and my love for the character, as well as the photographer's finesse. I couldn't ask for more joy in Cosplay.

This is my favorite setting from the Catwoman photoshoot I did with Bryan Humphrey! After shooting outside for a couple of hours we moved to inside this decrepit warehouse space. I have no clue how Bryan lit this space but it really looks like a comic book to me.
Also, full-body shot of the costume! Wish my boot straps weren't slipping down :(

AHHHHH so happy to finally do Selina!!! She's one of my absolute favorite comic book gals, I've basically wanted to be her since I was a little girl.

My costume is based on the Kotobukiya Bishojou statue! Made my body suit out of 4 way stretch vinyl, made my belt, my gloves, painted and sharpened nails to put on my gloves to look more cat like, made my hood which I topstiched and my boots, and bought a pair of goggles which I added model magic to to create the little cat ears! I'm so happy with how this entire costume turned out, and that I finally made catwoman! Now that I have the body suit I'm definitely going to do more versions of her~

Finally, Catwoman to complete my Gotham City Siren's cosplay set! Catwoman will always have a special place in my heart thanks to Michelle Pfeiffer's catwoman in Tim Burton's Batman film, I was obssesed with her and still am!

Here comes the first picture of my Catwoman costume which I wore at the bookfair in Leipzig past weekend.
I promised to write a proper comment yesterday - so here it comes!

Naraku, Lie and I decided to cosplay the Gotham City Sirens on our car ride home from Connichi back in September 2011. It was quickly decided who was supposed to cosplay as which character, so Lie went for Harley Quinn, Naraku went for Poison Ivy and I went for Catwoman.

Since we wanted our costumes to look as professional and realistic as possible we ordered black and red vinyl from an American online store. The material was rather expensive, but most definitely worth the money.

Making the costume took me about one week in total. I made every piece of it myself: The suit, the cap, the gloves, the belt - even the goggles. (The goggles are made from KobraCast 4 Art, crafting foam and Wobrla's Finest Art) The only pieces I bought were the boots which I painted with black gloss paint and to which I added Selina's typical buckles.

Besides minor flaws I'm rather satisfied with the way this costume turned out. Parts I would like to revise are the cowl, the goggles and the belt. I wonder if anybody would be interested in buying a "Catwoman: Cowl & Goggles" set?

Hurrah! I'm back from GenkiCon in Denmark and an exhausting photoshooting weekend at Calssara's!
The convention was a blast! I had so much fun there! It was the first convention I ever got invited to as a cosplay judge and it was amazing! Both the cosplay show and the costumes were great and I really enjoyed watching all the skits. I was also asked to give an interview for a Danish YouTube Channel! The interview will be up in a few weeks, I guess. Stay tuned! :D

The picture you can see above was taken by the amazing Ali Jehad who also took pictures of my Batgirl costume back at J-Pop-Con in November. I'm so happy we found time to take some pictures of my Robin costume although the schedule of the convention was rather right.

This is my favourite photo of the series. The tunic comes up over my hip in here, but hey, you move and the clothes you wear move with you, right? I also wish I had brushed my wig a bit more and had refreshed my make-up, but well, that's what you look like after an exhausting night of crimefighting, I guess. ;D

I really hope you like it! Constructive criticism appreciated!

Some more Catwoman... I don't think there is much more to say about this picture.

By the way is anybody of you planning to attend Kapow! Comic Convention in London in May?
I'll be there! :3 Let me know if you'll be there as well, I'd love to meet up with some people there!
