"Know thy enemy"
She just wanted to cry
She knew she couldn't, not anymore, but that didn't stop her from wanting to. There was something wholly unsatisfying about sobbing when your body can't create tears. Her own heat boiled them away the moment they formed, even when she struggled to keep her powers turned off.
Her blonde mane and tail flared with heat as her emotions refused to listen, swirling out of control. Pyre couldn't cry, so she would do the next best thing; she would get angry. Angry at the Imps who "retired" her friends with so little effort. Angry at the team for not saving them. Angry at Indigo, a unicorn she'd befriended when she had been first forced out of the clouds, who was killed almost as soon as the team landed. She neve

The next thing Pinkie saw was Twilight Sparkle's face, contorted in absolute horror, gaping at her.
"Pinkie Pie," Twilight whispered, her violet eyes wide and staring. "What what have you done?"
"What are you talking about, Twilight?" asked Pinkie. She saw that she was in Sugarcube Corner and in front of her was a still-steaming batch of cupcakes fresh out of the oven. "I'm just making cupcakes!"
Twilight's sickened gaze switched from Pinkie to somewhere over her shoulder - and then her mouth slipped open in silent scream at what she saw. Pinkie turned in shock and saw something on one of the work benches the sight was so inexplicable that it took her several heartbeats to realise it was a Pegasus pony, lying on its side.
"Rainbow Dash?" Pinkie whispered. The Pegasus pony was lying on her side and her face wasn't visible, but her unique multi-coloured mane identified her without a doubt. But she wasn't moving

Twilight looked out the window of her study at the swirling black clouds and she frowned. "That is by far the strangest storm I have ever seen."
She had spent the afternoon trying to find information about the history of unnatural storms hitting Ponyville and by unnatural, she of course meant storms that had originated over the Everfree Forest rather than in the Storm Factory in Cloudsdale. But try as she may to concentrate, the whole business between Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie was preoccupying her.
She slammed the tome in front of her closed in frustration. "I've read that same sentence TEN TIMES now!" she muttered. "Confound these ponies! They drive me to distraction..."
She stared out the window. The whole town had been plunged into an eerie darkness. The winds that had come up around an hour ago were growing in intensity. The leaves of the tree the library had been built into shivered and rustled a

Pinkie was busy with the dishes in the kitchen as Dash lugged the heavy bags of trash out to the back alley behind the bakery. But there was already a pile of garbage there, and it was difficult to find any space for the bags she was carrying.
Dash shook her head in annoyance. "Smoggy and Patchy you guys! What a time to be taking an extended vacation!" She flew up and placed one of her trash bags gingerly on the top of the already teetering pile. "You'd think the Mayor would have organised somepony other than Derpy Hooves to be in charge of the trash collection while they're away." Flying back down, she collected another bag and flew it to the top of the pile. "When will " she grabbed another bag, "everypony learn" and another, "that Derpy just isn't the most" and another. "dependable of ponies?"
The last bag was on top now, and the tower began to sway.

When Dash woke up, she realised the voice calling her had been doing so for some time. It had slipped into her dreams she'd been back in Flight School in Cloudsdale, and she'd obviously done something to annoy her fellow students: everypony's eyes followed her wherever she went, and everywhere there was a conspiratorial whisper of "Rainbow Dash Rainbow Dash..."
As the Pegasus pony shrugged off sleep and stretched her wings, she looked down from her cloud home to see Twilight calling up to her.
"You're finally awake! Thank Celestia," the unicorn pony muttered. "You're a deep sleeper I've been down here calling you for about five minutes now!"
Dash chuckled. "That's me work hard, party harder, sleep hardest!" But at the word 'party', the events of the previous night came flooding back to her. The relief she'd felt that the bad dream had been exactly that had dissolved away and the

The alley opened out into a tiny square with a number of little shops opening off of it. There was a tack-repair shop, with newly-worked bridles hanging near the door to dry; an apothecary, with its tell-tale sign of a winged-staff and the thick scent of medicines and ointments which Twilight could smell from where they were standing; and a charming little...
"Oh, a bookshop!" cried Twilight in delight. Towers of leather-bound books were piled up next to the door, and a ziggurat of yellowed vellum-scrolls as well. Oh,

"I do hope Rarity and the fillies are OK " thought Twilight as she battled her way through the driving rain. "I don't want to imagine what damage Applebloom and her friends have done to the boutique by now, stuck inside out of this storm!"
Her hooves splashed up muddy water as she trotted, soaking her legs, while about her the storm continued to ravage the little town. Trees bent in the growling winds and the rain was now almost a vertical wall that she had to struggle through. The umbrella she had brought from the library had long since been blown out of her telekinetic grip, and had spiralled off into the deepening darkness.
Twilight was almost at Rarity's boutique when a pony came rushing up to her out of the gloom. It was Nurse Mercy, the head of the Ponyville hospital, and she was in such a hurry that she almost ran straight into the unicorn pony.

But none of the ponies inside could hear any of it: all they could hear was the soft sobbing of their friend, and her desperate, unanswered prayers. Sunshine spilled onto the viridian lawn as the morning sun crested over the battlements of the old castle, causing the dew still clinging to the blades to sparkle before evaporating. Twilight trotted down the steps from the south doors to enjoy a leisurely morning stroll through the gardens, as she used to do in days gone by when she recovered from being upset.
Predictably, Princess Celestia had not been there when she had awakened, nor was she down at breakfast in the royal dining room. An invitation to eat there was a lifetime affair, and it was far better than sitting with the rest of the staff awkwardly in her usual corner table while not talking to any pony. She might have learned how to make friends, but that did not stop the castle staff from being just a little skittish around her, being the personal student to a living goddess and all.

Cracks and snaps sounded quietly in defiance of the thick tension that permeated the air. The familiar dance of tongues of flame flashed against stone and wood alike, the thin extensions twisting and twirling before detaching from the body of fire and evaporating from existence. She could very well have sat there and eyed the tiny expression of both destruction and creation for hours and never get bored. However, a particularly loud snap brought her to her senses.
Soft, sad music accompanied the crackle of the flames; the brass sedated, yet powerful as a pony sang a haunting melody of tragedy and loss. She sympathised with the long-dead stallion. Soon after, the strings, led by a piano, took the lead from the brass and pounding rhythm section.

The sound of flapping wings drowned out the oppressive silence as the two mares trudged through the thicket of the ethereal forest. In a way, it was therapeutic for her to hear the familiar sound so close to her; to know that she had a friend who still earnestly cared about her. But... it also reminded her of something far more sinister and recent, something that still haunted her waking thoughts if she let them dawdle from what needed to be done.
"Let's see how she likes the Brazen Bull," cackled the phantom voice of a griffon, followed by her own pained screams of wreathing agony, turned into the snorts and grunts of a bull by the complex series of pipes. It was almost enough to make her stomach turn over... almost.
As much as she wanted to deny herself, as much as it would hurt to do so, she could not ignore the fact that, in those hours of merciless torture, a piece of her had d

Everything was serene and still in the darkness of the new night. Only the fast-paced clipping of hooves on the cobbles in the street could be heard as the city of Canterlot began to wind down for the day. Several ponies still going about their evenings gave her odd looks as she rushed past, yet none of the guard paid her any attention, as they were focused on other, more important matters.
Rarity wove through the streets in an attempt to shake any ponies off of her tail, running at full clip unless she came across one of the guards. What was Twilight playing at? Surely she did not think she could get outside the town gates without getting the third degree from the guards, especially at night! Of course, there were several tunnels dug by the Crusaders to get in and out, but the white unicorn had no idea which were discovered or not in her time away, never mind the idea of dragging herself through the muck!

In the blink of an eye, the early morn had turned into the end of evening. At least, that is what it felt like to the mare as she trudged through mud and brush with no discrimination. She hoped they would be upon the edge of the forest soon, for it had been a long day of physical exertion and no rest for food or water. She was running solely on her excitement at having almost acquired the biggest bounty of her career.
Twilight Sparkle walked obediently behind the bounty hunter as the sun began to set once more below the horizon. She wore a Mithril bracelet on each leg and one on her horn: an inescapable situation for any unicorn, including the one she was being marched to that very instant. "The worst part of any battle is not the actual fight, boy, but rather the wait for it to start," General Portland of the Royal Equestrian Army spoke with his front legs slung over the railing of a ship. He was an old, battle hardened unicorn stallion with a grey coat, white mane and the mark of a jewel-encrusted sword on his flank. Being a high-ranking officer, he only wore a navy blue jacket with several medals decorating the lapels and breast of it. For days, the weather had decided to stagnate over the city of Manehatten, throwing it into perpetual overcast skies.
Meanwhile, the colt at his side pondered his words, having wondered what put the stallion so on-edge for the past fortnight. A million thoughts buzzed beneath his glittering helmet, each vying for position at the surface. "So, you expect they'll try something here soon, sir?" he asked, choosing the foremost thought.

A road of iron swept across the plains of the desert: linking cities and towns alike to the fertile new frontier of Equestria. Upon the twin lines of iron rails, a beast of mythic proportions powered across the land and shook the ground while it roared on. Darkness slowly fell over the heart of the Everfree Forest, causing the trees to cast long shadows during the twilight hour before the dying light faded from existence. As with every night before it, the setting of the sun caused alarms to go off in the internal clocks of the most dangerous creatures on the face of the earth. To them, the Everfree was a haven away from the over-controlling ponies, even if their biological memory missed the tasty pastel-coloured morsels.
For all of her experience and connection with the local fauna, not even the chief pony resident of the forest would stray too far from her home during the night. She had learned that lesson the hard way: through many close encounters, wounds, and battles she fought just to stay alive in such a hostile place, let alone the battles she fought for her vision of what the world should be, as opposed to the oozing quagmire of sin it had become.

'Doooong, doooong, doooong, doooong, doooong,' tolled the bell of the clock tower in Canterlot as it signalled the hour. Since time immemorial, the tower had measured the march of time's hooves. Every clock in every land around the world hoped in vain to keep pace with it, yet it endured the centuries and millennia in stride. Like time itself, it stood indifferent to the plights of others, existing only to keep track.

She wasn't even sure if she was awake, she seemed as peaceful as a pony in the deepest realms of sleep.
However, Octavia was, in fact, of this waking world. She still felt detached from it, like Equestria was rushing past around them, while they experienced everything each second could offer to th
Allegrezza - Part Twenty-ThreeOctavia set the case on the stage, deftly flicking open the clips and unveiling the instrument within. The whole situation was much calmer now, especially in contrast to her ragged nerves that night. Zimmer knew her skill and prowess, she had nothing to prove this time. Instead, she simply had to learn the notes required for her.Allegrezza - Part Twenty-Three in Short Stories More Like This
Learning was something that came relatively naturally to Octavia. Truly, any musician worth their salt-lick was also a fast learner. Decoding notes, rhythm and timbre at a speed ponies of other professions found difficult to match. Octavia's own specialty was more the art of learning and understanding a piece. Looking beyond the notes and timing to the emotion behind it, mimicking the composer's emotion and intent with each saw of her bow. If she were to try, she could most likely learn any instrument she wished to. It was simply a matter of preference and habit that she stayed loyal to her cello after all these years.
It was a gift from her father, no less. A
Allegrezza - Part Twenty-TwoThe short walk to Octavia's rehearsal passed in something akin to an awkward, heated silence. Octavia had made it quite vocally known exactly how difficult it had been to recalibrate her sound system to her usual specification. It was around the moment when Vinyl suggested that her modifications had improved the sound of the system that Octavia almost felt like throwing one of the Ponysonic speakers at her.Allegrezza - Part Twenty-Two in Short Stories More Like This
Vinyl had left Octavia to it. After eating the pancakes, making something up about a DJ-ing gig, and exiting stage left as rapidly as possible while Octavia was still in one of her moods. At this moment in time the tension was still persisting between them as they trotted down the road, and Vinyl found herself wanting to break the incandescent silence between them.
"So...you fixed it okay?"
"Well, of course I fixed it in the end. What you failed to anticipate is the hour and a half it took to do so. I had to listen to Beethoofen's seventh symphony five times before I could pr
Allegrezza - Part Thirty-OneThe midnight moonlight crept through the curtains, illuminating the room within. Eerie protrusions burst forth from the floor and walls, casting grim and wavering shadows that seemed to stalk their way across the room. Octavia had never enjoyed nighttime, her night sight had never been something to shout about. Sadly, Vinyl's room was full of all manner of debris, casting irregular pony-shaped shadows onto her imagination.Allegrezza - Part Thirty-One in Short Stories More Like This
The problem being, of course, that Octavia couldn't sleep. But an hour ago, this had been something of an advantage during the nighttime activities. Now though, it kept her mind turning over the same niggling doubts, snowballing them into overbearing worries and trepidations. She glanced at her...partner. She supposed that was the correct term, was it not? It had been a worryingly infrequent label that she had been unable to apply to many other ponies. Yes, the insufferably idiotic- yet practically saintly - mare laying beside her was her partner. Octavia felt assure
Allegrezza - Part Twenty-FiveLyra and Bonbon stared at the subtle whisps of smoke diffusing from Octavia's heated temperament. Ironically, the closer Vinyl was to danger, the more she pushed herself towards it by taunting Octavia. Thus, Darwhinny's Theory of Natural Selection was given a beautiful demonstration as Octavia shunted Vinyl in the ribs, causing her to collapse onto a seat. Vinyl rearranged her legs after landing to make it seem as it if were purposeful, rather than having her rump kicked.Allegrezza - Part Twenty-Five in Short Stories More Like This
Bonbon lightly clapped her hooves as Octavia finally cooled down, offering an apologetic hoof to help Vinyl back onto her own.
"Wow, Octavia, you sure do have a temper. Better be careful, Lyra."
Lyra snorted through her snout. "Of course, she can bring down a rugged street waif like that, but hardly somepony as capable as me."
"Vinyl is not a street waif!"
"Yeh, I'm not her wife, fillies!"
"No...you..." Octavia sighed into her hoof. "She's a...DJ. Besides what business is it of your's anyway?"
Lyra reclined casually i
Allegrezza - Part Twenty-NineVinyl casually swilled another gulp of her drink, her sense of fulfillment only becoming more complete by the moment. Of course, while alcohol has rarely been considered a functional vector for gaining spiritual peace in general pony society, Vinyl had always found it to be an excellent relaxing agent. It dulled down her fervent miasma of thought into an enjoyable trickle that unveiled itself to her at a much slower and more manageable pace.Allegrezza - Part Twenty-Nine in Short Stories More Like This
It was because of this new state of mind that she failed to notice the barcolt's repeated attack runs on her vicinity, swooping down on nearby tables and claiming their abandoned glasses. Each strafe drew closer than the last, and they were finished with a fervent glance over at the pair. The barcolt had managed several of these passive assaults before Vinyl finally noticed the attention she and Octavia were receiving. She stared down the barcolt as he moved to assail the table adjacent to her and Vinyl, causing him to cough lightly and cloak himse
Allegrezza - Part SixteenVinyl finally managed to dislodge the treacherous treat from her trachea with a fit of heaving coughs, aided by Bonbon's frantic hoof patting her back to help her along. She had to admit, she was glad the cupcake had been ejected before somepony started the Hooflich Maneuver on her. Her normally porcelain-white face was blushing a similar shade to her eyes, and her heart was fighting against her rib cage as if it wanted to escape before the whole respiration thing got a little ugly.Allegrezza - Part Sixteen in Short Stories More Like This
Bonbon leaned back from her vigorous back patting, glancing at the tray before setting it out of both their reaches. "No problem at all. Sorry if I shocked you."
Her breathing had improved, but the blushing only increased. "Shocked? I'm not shocked, I'm cool with fiillyfo-with being with mares and all, it's okay. Just that yeh, I didn't know you could actually marry another mare."
Bonbon giggled into her hoof, her beige cheeks lighting up slightly. She was especially quick
Allegrezza - Part Twenty-SixThe quartet of acquaintances finally departed the side room. With the truce now in place, Zimmer sighed as he looked at his watch. It had taken the pair of string instrumentalists an hour to essentially tell one another to be quiet and play the notes. This job was too taxing for an elderly stallion. After his paycheck went through, he'd book a nice, permanent holiday to the beaches of Sri Llama.Allegrezza - Part Twenty-Six in Short Stories More Like This
Vinyl and Bonbon got comfortable in the seating area once again, while Lyra and Octavia reclaimed their space on the stage. Each found the sheet music they had scattered around in their standoff, and pored over it together. Octavia noted an interesting point in the notations scattered over the page, sparking her interest into the nature of the musical piece.
"Intriguing, he has your harp playing in lieu of a guitar. I imagine he couldn't find a guitarist to match your ability?"
"Nor a bassist to match yours. Hmm, I hope this is more than just a hashed together band, Octavia."
"I'm sure it will
A Very Merry VinylTavia ChristmasOctavia groaned, her more than comfortable slumber cut off by a trio of light prods to the stomach. She rolled away from her assailant, pinning her pillow tightly to her ears, and groaning further, just to drive home the point that she really did not want to be woken up at that moment.A Very Merry VinylTavia Christmas in Short Stories More Like This
Sadly, the perpetrator of the poking failed to notice this less than subtle body language indicator, and replied with a more fervent series of prods to more tender areas of Octavia's torso. She rolled back over to face her, now fully awake and even more irritated at how awake she was. Octavia found a pair of exuberant, ruby eyes glimmering from the twilit room. Apparently, Vinyl had no issue with an early rise, for once.
Octavia heaved one, last groan that deferred to a sigh as it dissipated into the air, seeing no relent in Vinyl's fillyish excitement.
"I suppose you want me to get up, then?"
Vinyl nodded in a manner Octavia felt would likely resulting in her head detaching from the neck if it co

Finally, the rainbow arched and headed straight at him, and Twilight could finally see a look of shock in his mismatched pupils.

All Twilight needed to think of now was how she and her friends were going to speak to Discord once he was weakened. Well, SHE would do the talking; Rainbow Dash just wanted to beat him up.

Zim, now without his disguise, watched as Rocky carefully and ever so gently added a few more bandages to his already bandage-thick arm. Zim didn't suffer anything severely; he had received pain, and learned to past through it. Nothing ached anymore after that fall.
But for some reason...he liked the attention Rocky was giving him.
"Okay, that'll do," Rocky said, turning to the three boys. "Thanks. I'll take it from here now."
"Yes, sir," Tommy saluted before he dashed off to his room for a well-deserved nap.
Numbuh 13 stood beside Wally as they slowly walked away from where Rocky and Zim were...his heart tightened when he saw the alien actually share a smile with Rocky.

"How many pigs do you even need, Gir?" Zim demanded before slapping the toy away from his view of the computer screen. "Honestly, they're useless, especially since they failed to help me rid of the Dib-worm permanently!"
"Aw!" Gir cooed, not realizing his master's temper. "How about piggy give you a kiss?" And he made lip-smacking noises as he slowly eased his toy towards Zim, attempting it to 'kiss' him.

Earthworm Zim Chp. 8, part 1Zim didn't dream the way normal people would dream, like an image of one's self being in some far-off, perfect place where it was what one desired. But, after all that had happened, he was dreaming of something far different...
He had flashes of colors forming in front of him.
The colors took the shape of people he knew. The Turtles and other non-human characters he met...were a bright flash of glowing blue.....Rita and Brian, they were a warm glowing yellow color...
The warmth was incredible, not like anything Zim had felt before.
The others he knew were a variety of colors: blue, purple, dark green, bright orange...
But when he thought of Rocky. She was all the colors, with her outline glowing a deep shining gold. And her image was the clearest, with the sharpest contrast and her features stood out the most. H

Zim just sat there, his ruby eyes staring into space while his jaw was unhinged. He was stiff as a statue...looking so overwhelmed and lifeless.
Rita and Brian stood by the Tallest, both looking at them with desperate eyes, the expressions on their faces asking and pleading that what they had told their adopted alien child was completely false.
Purple sadly looked at the couple. With a guilty sigh, he nodded. That gesture was more than enough for Rita to gasp in horror.

As soon as the Tallest returned the girls to their home in Quahog, Red thought he would just get a good night kiss and just sleep in the same bed as his beloved...
Red's smile grew bigger when Lol's eyes slowly opened and looked up and gazed into his red ones. "Hi," she said softly with a smile he adored.

Winn said nothing, her hands quivering for fear of her life. Alejandro led themselves out the door leading toward the school parking lot. "Doesn't he seem kind of...weird?"
"Well, duh!" Kuki chirped. "He has no ears and talks really funny!"

He was nervous, scared even. Superior as he was, Red had never felt so afraid in his life. How could that be so suddenly when he and Purple had reigned with no fear for years?
Because this human girl and the people she calls her family had found a tender spot in him as well as Purple...never had he told anyone about his past, about how he had become broken, why he had become the way he became. There was still much to be rebuilt, many ponies were still homeless and forced to stay with friends, relatives, or complete strangers. Silence fell onto the gathered group in the wake of Trixie's question. Twilight Sparkle was motionless in her chair, trying to ignore the confused looks she was getting from her friends. The knowing look from Trixie was not helping, in Twilight's mind.
"Dragon magic? Don't, don't be silly, Trixie! Hehe, ponies aren't allowed to learn dragon magic, heh..."
Trixie rolled her eyes and sighed. "Twilight, has anypony ever told you that you're a terrible liar? And besides, there's no point in denying it. It was late in the morning, the sun well into its course across the sky. Scootaloo flew through the skies of Ponyville, kicking a few clouds in frustration as she went. Her mane and tail were swept behind her by the wind, her wings practically buzzing as she sped toward Sweet Apple Acres. Her expression was set in a frown, troubled thoughts filling her head.

Mere moments after having her face and the fur of her pelt warmed by the sun, Rainbow Dash found it impossible to sleep through the light which now cascaded over her. Slowly, she opened her eyes, blinking a few times to remove the blurriness of sleep and the glare of the morning's light.
She jolted fully awake with a start at the sight of the room before her. Her eyes swept the room, from the papered walls to the carved wood furniture, something just didn't seem right to Rainbow Dash in her dazed early morning state. It took a few seconds of wondering where all the clouds were before

In an empty field outside of Ponyville, drops of liquid fell out of the sky and hit the ground. The citizens of Ponyville were more than familiar with rain, especially those weather pegasi who created it, but this particular event was different. Ponyville had, of course, experienced strange weather phenomena before, with the chocolate milk raining down from cotton candy clouds during the brief reign of Discord still fresh in everypony's mind, but most ponies had another reason to avoid the falling drops in this field. The thick, green blankets of the master bedroom rose and fell with the rhythmic motion of two ponies softly breathing in their sleep. The warm, insulating material shielded the ponies underneath from the chill that had overtaken the house in the early Equestrian morning, allowing them both to sleep soundly in one another's embrace. Applejack, with her back to the window and her face buried deep into the crook of Rainbow Dash's neck, did not wake with the first light as she had previously. She continued to breathe slowly and peacefully, each breathe ruffling the fur of Rainbow Dash's pelt as it was exhaled, and unconsciously held onto her pegasus with an unwavering grip that served to prompt both of them into dreams of more romantic pursuits. Even in their sleep, both wore wide, giddy smiles on their faces brought on by thoughts of each other.

There was precious little light coming from the filly's room, but what illumination was still there allowed Applejack and Rainbow Dash a near-perfect view into the guest room that they had given over to Scootaloo. What they saw stunned them into speechlessness for a good moment. Scootaloo lay on her back on the bed, her head pressed deep into the pillow by Applebloom, who had curled her way on top of the other filly. In the dim light, Applejack and Rainbow Dash could only just make out the fact that they seemed to be kissing. Albeit clumsily and completely without regard whatsoever towards the finer aspects of such an experience, their lips were pressed together awkwardly all the same.
Applejack made to protest, but her words were denied entrance at the tip of her lips by a great barrier, that turned out to be one of Rainbow Dash's forelegs. Before she could even register her disapproval with a grunt, or make any sort of noise at all for that matter, Applejack found herself

The walk along the road into town was long and cold. Newly-fallen snow crunched beneath Applejack's boot-clad hooves as she trotted along the path. Each breath she took condensed into heavy clouds of vapor as it rolled from her mouth. The white-clad branches of each barren tree passed by her on either side as she made her way down the long, winding, lonely path. She gazed skyward, sweeping her vision across the low, unbroken ceiling of cloud that shrouded the wintery world around her in darkness. The only light she could see came from the old lantern she grasped in her mouth. The snow lying on the path before her sparkled as the beams of light shifted from side to side in time with the gentle swaying of the hanging lantern.
A sudden breeze blew through the narrow confines of the tree-lined road. Applejack felt the freezing air lift at her mane and chill her skin as it rolled over her. She stopped, setting down her source of light to grasp at the sca

Applejack blinked her eyes open to find them confronted with darkness again. Around her, nothing was visible except for her own body. She picked herself up onto her hooves, noting with some worry that there seemed to be nothing but more darkness beneath her. Taking a few steps, she realized that the aura of light was following her once again. And that she seemed to be walking on nothing. Her mind automatically registered that this seemed to be the same strange dark place she had been in earlier; that everything around her was probably a figment of her own imagination, but such complex thoughts ended abruptly with the intrusion of a familiar voice, echoing from somewhere behind her.
"Honey, Ah'm so proud of you." Applejack whipped around and found herself face to face with the smiling image of her mother again. Sweet Apple grinned at the perplexed look on her daughter's face before she embraced her. "You came back. You came back and Ah couldn't be ha

A stiff, cold wind whipped its way across the rolling hills and fields and through the groups of snow-covered trees, swaying heavily-laden branches and stirring the glistening piles of white snow as it blew. Many latent snowflakes enjoyed a short, triumphant return to the late-morning sky as they were borne upward on each gust, twirling and sparkling in the sun's brilliant morning light as they soared above grove and plain, only to come drifting lazily back down to earth when the wind died back down. This process repeated itself innumerable times on the crisp winter morning. Despite the sun, it was a cold morning, a condition the biting wind did nothing to remedy, as the air retained its chilly quality even as the time advanced closer to midday. The sun's light, however, still managed to create a cheery scene as its rays shown down upon the countryside, sending the rolling dunes of pure white ablaze with countless, tiny, glittering reflections.

The aura of cool blue surrounding and filling the nursery created a calming atmosphere for the room's sole conscious occupant accenting her shining blue eyes as she relaxed. Lying against a pile of soft cushions on the comfortable couch set against a side wall was Fluttershy. Supported by the well-used pillows, she took a long deserved rest. Her gaze fell across the room upon the three cribs set near the far wall. Each one was occupied by a sleeping foal, each of their small chests rising and falling in the slow, rhythmic pattern of a deep, unstrained sleep.

I'm worried about Applejack. She hasn't been herself lately. I think it's because of the money problems we've been having lately, but whenever I try to talk to her about it, she just brushes it off as if it were nothing. But it isn't nothing, Princess, I know there's something wrong something bothering her. She's just being too stubborn to admit it. She's been growing more and more distant and gloomy lately, but I don't know what to do. I know we don't normally write to ask favors, but please, help her. For the first time in a long while, Scootaloo felt warm. Long tendrils of pleasing heat radiated pleasure and comfort throughout her body, bringing the filly a level of happiness she had not known for quite some time. Yet, the source of her warmth was not the thick wooden walls of the cozy farmhouse which barred the ponies inside from the raging elements. It was not the fire, roaring and snapping away within the cheery little hearth. It was not the steaming mug of hot apple cider which sat before her, the contents of which had sizzled and nearly scalded her throat when she took her first big, refreshing gulp. It was not the hoof-knitted wool blanket which Fluttershy had draped over the filly's back. All of these things contributed to the comfortably heated atmosphere of the house, but, in Scootaloo's mind, they were not the source of her warmth.
She gazed around the crowded kitchen, her eyes lingering on the face of each pony as she went. She looked to Applejack, grinning sh
Pinkie Pie Character ReviewTrue story when I first decided to write this review, it was simply going to read, "She's just being Pinkie Pie", as I felt that this would be the perfect way to summarise her detailed and intricate character. But then I figured that that would be taking the easy way out, and thus decided to write a full-size review for Pinkie Pie. After all, she deserves just as much analysis as every other character within the mane cast, even if trying to rationalise Pinkie Pie's behaviour is something of an impossible task at times.Pinkie Pie Character Review in Reviews & Guides More Like This
Pinkie Pie is the sort of character that makes a fan-base. Whereas some characters rightfully deliver their own iconic lines and meme-worthy phrases, Pinkie Pie is in a league of her own. This is because her character is noticeably different from the rest of the mane cast, placing her in a position almost outside of the usual narrative of "Friendship is Magic". She can be a narrator for events outside of her control; she can break the fourth wall with glances to t

#49) I had a phase that lasted a few months in which I "enjoyed" the Rule 34 aspect of the brony fandom, mostly just clopping at night a few times a week and only to the R34. I started to grow out of this phase about a month or two back, and now I am completely grown out of it. The R34 no longer interests me and I've stopped clopping to it. I feel mostly relieved because of this shift, but when I look back on my clopping phase, I am dragged down by guilt and sadness and can't help feeling that I am a horrible, perverted person and the bane of the fandom.
Am I a horrible person for having liked the R34 and having been a clopper? This fandom means a lot to me and I don't want to think I'm one of its "bad apples".
Answer: Welcome back. It's interesting that you went through a 'phase' normally the sort of people who would masturbate to ponies wouldn't just 'grow out' of it, and so it's interesting that you one day suddenly seemed to lose interest in that side of the f

#37) I've heard tales of Season 3 being the last season. Is there any truth to this?
Answer: I don't work on the show, and so I can only reply with speculation and a little bit of evidence. A lot of people think that Season 3 will be the last season of "Friendship is Magic"; when the '13-episodes-only' revelation popped up as well, even more people began to see the end of the show as nigh. However, a shorter season doesn't necessarily mean the end of the show; there are many reasons for why the third season will be 13 episodes. I'm not going to get into detail on the whole 'syndication' thing, because you see so many bronies throwing it around based on hearsay without really knowing what it means.
Suffice to say that the show seems to be doing well for DHX Media, Discovery Communications and Hasbro the three big parties associated with it. They know about the popularity of the show, and so if they do choose to end the show at Season 3, it's fair to assume t

#31) As well as being a brony, I'm a furry. I find that some bronies alienate me because of that, and many bronies become offended when people assume that they're furries. What the hell? Shouldn't they know what it's like to be out of the mainstream? Is it bad to be a furry? Why can't I be both a furry and a brony?
Answer: The furry fandom has a lot of negative connotations surrounding it. The stereotype of a furry to a non-furry is someone who is attracted to animal-people, which a lot of people are uncomfortable with. When ponies became popular, a lot of people started saying that pony-fans are furries, while many pony-fans became vocal about not being part of the furry fandom just because they like ponies.
Personally, I find this to be exactly why applying abstract labels to things can be damaging. Not everyone wants to be part of a fandom based on their interests; some are fine to be remain without labels and titles, and instead prefer to just appreciate various inter

#34) I'm a girl, and I've seen a lot of people in the MLP fandom saying that girls can't be bronies because they aren't defying any gender stereotypes or something. The thing is, I don't like the word "Pegasister" and I've always considered myself a brony. Am I?
Answer: This is working on the assumption that bronies are defying gender stereotypes in the first place. To me, the whole, "We're defying gender stereotypes" argument is just a way of rationalising liking the show while maintaining your pride as an older viewer. Because a lot of bronies don't want to accept that their behaviour is unorthodox in any negative fashion, a lot of the time they'll put themselves into the dominant position by arguing that their behaviour is acceptable and that they're better than others because they challenge the status quo. While there is a modicum of truth in that, I wouldn't say that people should be particularly proud of liking "Friendship is Magic".
However, the same elitist minds

#55) I hate Pinkamena! I wish people would shut the fuck up about Pinkie Pie's 'dark side'. It's annoying and it's not even funny. What do you think about the (frankly) horrible presentation of her as a psychopath?
Answer: Yeah, I'm not a fan of it myself, but it's important to understand why people do it. Obviously, "Friendship is Magic" is targeted to little kids; that needs to be established from the very beginning here, because, naturally, when looking at bronies you have to take into consideration that they're older than the typical viewer of the show and thus more prone to taking things into darker territory. The "Party of One" episode is enough to give people the ammunition they need; from there they can take the character down all sorts of dark avenues, and, in the case of Pinkamena, they can sort of back it up with canon lore from the show as well.
Pinkie Pie does go a bit crazy in that episode, and while it was never intended that she would become

#61) I'm young and people have told me I can't be a brony. At what age can you be a brony?
Answer: I've got friends who have attended brony conventions and they've seen eight year-olds dressed up as Scootaloo; at Everfree Northwest a kid of ten or so asked the voice actresses a question and received a bro-hoof in return. As long as you're old enough to understand what you're a part of, I'd say you fit in as a brony.
The whole brony 'thing', when it comes down to it, is about being a fan of the show outside of its intended audience. I'm not sure if you're male or female, but that might come into the equation, insofar as if you were a six year-old girl, you might just be classed as a fan of the show. If you were a six year-old boy, that might be slightly different. Not that I'm saying that girls and boys can't both be bronies, because they obviously can.
I think that it's the awareness that really matters. If you are aware that there is a large fanbase of people who

#58) I have been a fan of MLP since Season 1, continued to be one through Season 2 and I am looking forward to Season 3. But as time has gone by, I feel my initial excitement for the fandom has faded alot. I am not looking to new stories as much, nor new fanart and instead, I'm focusing on other things besides ponies. Am I not really a fan any more because my focus isn't on ponies so much?
Answer: Being a fan of something doesn't mean you have to experience it all of the time. It's like having a best friend: you don't need to necessarily talk to them all the time, or even see them for a long time, and yet you still just know that they're an excellent friend to have. Much in the same way, being a fan of "Friendship is Magic" doesn't require you to actively involve yourself in it. It can be more of a subconscious thing, based more on your time already in the fandom, and your attitude in general towards what the brony 'thing' offers.
It's not unusual that you would somewhat

#52) Why do bronies feel the need to create so many gay shippings? It's weird.
Answer: Bronies make lesbian shippings because the bulk of the cast of "Friendship is Magic" are female, and bronies like to pair characters up. The idea is in itself nothing new, but ponies do seem to take things to the next level.
"I'm an Apple-Dash fan!" one person cries.
"That sucks," says another. "Pinkie-Shy is best shipping!"
On the one hand it's relatively harmless if people are just pairing the characters up for shits and giggles. When it gets porn-y you have to wonder why people are so obsessed with making these ponies fuck each other. It's a given that people will ship characters, but that doesn't make it any more necessary or purposeful. I'll never forget one hilarious instance where a brony made a comment on a person's DA page who was a big supporter of Soarin and Rainbow Dash shipping. They said that their shipping idea was 'shit'. Curious, I checked out the attacker's page

#67) Is clopping bad? I've done it before and I don't really understand why other bronies find it disgusting. Maybe it's just me. >.<
Answer: With the amount of clopping questions I receive with this column, it's hardly a wonder why a lot of people think that bronies are sexual deviants. Now, in terms of your question itself, the fact that you don't see why other people might find it disgusting is worrying, because you're admitting to not being able to contemplate why people would think it odd to masturbate to cartoon animals.
To be honest, to apply a label of 'bad' on clopping is a big generalisation, as it all comes down to opinion. It is my opinion that, while masturbating to ponies in itself isn't a problem, the content itself is bad, insofar as that shit seems to be everywhere. What's worse than being into it, though, is being proud of it. It's one thing to masturbate to ponies if that's what turns you on, there's no point in holding back on it just because
ValentinesTwilight Sparkle was used to catching a moment's peace whenever she could. When she had first arrived at Ponyville, she had seen no reason why she couldn't adapt her rigorous schedule to her new lifestyle - replace classes with personal studying, leave more time for luncheons and visits with friends, etcetera. This mentality had gone out the window sometime between staving off the parasprite invasion and dealing with a stable time-loop she herself had created. It had become apparent since then that she'd have to accept more surprises in her life, and less schedule for it.
