This week in The Line it is Drawn, the theme is power swap... or what if a character had another one's power... I chose Spider Jerusalem because he's one of my all-time favorite characters. And it's political time, he puts me just in the mood. I think I'm re-reading all Transmetropolitan for the fifth time.

Full gallery here, some mighty pieces there:

Girls and boys, this week in The Line it is Drawn, the theme was James Bond. Not a huge 007 fan, I've probably seen half the movies. But, well, I love drawing Emma, and as soon as I saw Robert McGinnis' poster I was inspired. Of course, it looked better in my mind, but there you go.

Girls and boys, this week in The Line it is Drawn, a tribute to the Marvel Family... I went with the suggestion of Captain Marvel appearing in Image Comics in the 90's...

This was a particularly hard week, lots of issues to settle and I was away of my inking equipment, so I had to go all digital on this one. I might try more of these.

Here's the full gallery:

It's two milestones in one! My piece for The Line It Is Drawn #100 for 8/2/12, and, coincidentally enough, the last piece of art I drew in my 30s (I turned 40 on August 1st).

For this Anniversary piece, we did the 100th issues of previous LIID pieces. I chose Nick Perks' :iconnick-perks: great Steve Ditko tribute from LIID #50: [link]

I wanted to add in even MORE Steve Ditko characters (Since most superhero groups have added more members by issue #100), so I stuck in Captain Atom, The Question, Speedball, Hawk & Dove, Staman and Shade the Changing Man! This made the piece even more meaningful for me, since Captain Atom & the Blue Beetle were both in my first regular contribution to TLIID back in Week 77:

The layout is an homage to Nick Cardy's terrific cover for Justice League of America #102, seen here: [link]

Here's the "In Progress" version of the cover to the CBLDF Liberty Annual #5 shipping October 10, 2012 from Image Comics.

Had a lot of fun with this one, basically a blank slate and I really had been wanting to draw a moped!

As you can see here - it's drawn in pencil on 11 x 17" bristol board and being inked with a brush by Rachel Dodson. The final color version is here at DA in my gallery - colored in Photoshop.

This is the final line art for the cover of my sketchbook.

I drew the line art of each character on separate sheets of paper and combined them in Photoshop.

Art was drawn on 11 x 17" Bristol Board with Light Blue and HB pencil and cleaned up in Photoshop CS3.

The pencil art version of the cover to ABC A-Z Top Ten that I did circa 2005. Top Ten is one of my absolute favorite comics of the last decade with amazing art by Gene Ha and a brilliant storyline by Alan Moore, so it was a real pleasure to work on this image!

This book's print run was relatively low so I assume a lot of you are seeing this for the first time! Enjoy!

Drawn on DC Cover Stock with Light Blue and HB Pencil.

This one is a commission for a regular-- I really, really enjoy this one, so share it and spread the word, okay? Not that I'm baiting for a daily deviation, but this one is way better than the only one I currently have. ;)

See you guys and gals at Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend!

Here's a piece I finished weeks and weeks back now-- a commission for a gent who collects big group shots of characters from various comic-related universes. He has a great list of pieces, and some you can see at:

Anyhoo, he asked me to work up an homage recreation for the cover to Secret Wars II #1, originally pencilled by legend John Byrne and inked by Terry Austin-- including characters from a sizable reference packet he provided. A daunting task!

Listed on this cover you can find:

Dark Claw (Amalgam)
Prime (Ultraverse)
Invincible (Image)
Zot! (Scott McCloud)
Captain America aka Bucky Cap (Marvel)
Spartan (Wildstorm)
Songbird (Marvel)
Spider-Boy (Amalgam)
Saturn-Girl (DC)
ROM (Marvel/Parker Bros)
Firestar (Marvel)

You can see the original Byrne-rendered piece here:

Enjoy!
