*ahem* So now that my tenure at GameFan is over (the sole reason I don't draw or paint for 2-3 weeks at a time) I can get back to commish on a reg basis. For rlz. You have no idea how much work that mag was lol so anyways, back on the commish tomorrow, today I took the time to get warmed up, nice little hulk for ya. Start my new job on Mon but unlike GF its like, a normal art job with a schedule lol And I'm not doing everything. yay!
Oh geez, another screaming head! We definitely have some anger management issues at the 'Box. This will be one of the pieces we'll be contributing to the HeroesCon auction this weekend. Brush and Copics on cardstock.
Should be a wild and crazy time--stop by and say hi if you're in the area. We'll be the guys pestering *skottieyoung all weekend. Table AA-213!
Capcom will be holding a Street Fighter Tournament in San Francisco this coming Dec. 8th to celebrate Street Fighters 25th Anniversary. A bunch of extremely talented artist and myself were invited to do some art pieces for the event. Here is what I submitted. I'll have a limited number of prints at the event and a few in my online store (KWESTONE STORE) afterwards. It's so crazy to think that I actually played the first Street Fighter 25 years ago... and I'm not talking about Street Fighter 2.
Most of the rendering was done on Illustrator CS5 and texture was added on Photoshop.
I did this piece a few months back hoping to get into Udon's Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tribute book but I never heard for them so I guess I'll be posting it. Akuma's (Gouki) probably my favorite Shotokan character in the Street Fighters series. Though hard to incorporate the Raging Demon attack in a combo, it's such a gratifying feeling when you catch someone with it!
Pencil Sketch. Then rendered mostly on Illustrator and placed in Photoshop for lighting effects.
I got invited, again, to participate in another Street Fighter Group Art Show. I thought I go cutesy chibi style. So I drew up some of my favorite lady fighters... Chun Li, Sakura, Cammy White, Elena and Juri Han. I was only planning to do five but was convinced by other fans to put Ibuki in the mix. It worked out! Like six button on an arcade style joystick!
Rendered mostly in Illustrator then Photoshop for highlights and texture.
