here we go
finally done :icontardboogieplz: :iconvictorydanceplz: :icondweebdanceplz:

man, this thing took just freaking long :faint:
when i imagine that the plan was, to build this in my three weeks vacation (last year :D ) and meanwhile a half year is gone since i started the boosterpack :D

ok, i had a few breaks, one with Renamon and a few others
so the pure building time was about two months
but also a long time :aww:

i have to say that i don't have any clue about Gundam Wing/00/Zero ore whatever which series is called
i know about the Gundams and love the mecha design (specially this one because of the wings) but never saw one part so don't bother about the name ;)

ah, big mechas with wings
i just love this shit :la:

even the sheets where not the best (they are very pixelized)
i'm totally pleased with the result
but during the building and right now i can say, it's definitely not a starter model
i had to modify a lot of stuff and quite every blue and grey edge is recolored to hide the folding lines
but all over is was pure fun :meow:
and...
surely not my last Gundam model ;)
the next one is allready planned

what's left to say
ah right :)
you can download the sheets here
also i wanna refer you to my building process gallery
just if you may stuck ;)

-other shots-

and a little special one here ;)

oh yeah
my first SD Gundam :boogie:

two weeks of chilled work are done
and it looks really cool :)

i was a little bit worried, because the SD Gundams have a complete different model design as the pepakura models

but after a few parts i noticed how "genius" this design is.
the most parts are open and very easy to handle.

if you have three ore four cross tweezers you can build this very quick and get a page at one day done.

also the cool thing on this models are the model parts itself.
you can remove the head and arms, the wings, the weapon and the shield and pose them in an other way.

but the important thing is the instruction
i downloaded a few other SD models but they have none
so you have to figure out which part must be connected with the others

this one comes with a very nice and detailed one, so you will have no problems and it's also a good start into the SD series :)

if you wanna try Rocky (nickname of the model) on your own
feel free and download it here [link]

P.S.
you need the backpack page 3, three times

-edit-
by the way
a big hug  to :iconelengwat: Elengwat for the idea with the border :w00t:

-edit-
lol, just crazy :D
as i went online, i found a note from :iconepill: epill in my inbox about the gundam and that i don't should get mad

well, mad yes, but in a good way ;)
he made a vector picture out the photo which is just awesome.

but take a look on your own.

thx a lot man, i really appreciate that

A second variation of something I made up when I was 7. An earlier version on the original Spheroid. And I must admit, this version seems cooler.

Their final design is about the size of a pea or a marble. It includes a duo-output camera, sturdier shield-like legs, more dynamic folding design, and an external AI (via satellite). They're used as an exploratory probe or a spying device. My childhood imagination of them included a minute gun, for use as a tank against small soldiers, such as ants.

Less dynamic version.

I've finally managed to model something that I came up with when I was 5 years old!

The robot's general design was to basically have a camera in a small or dangerous place, be it a robotic exploration of a planet or spying Soviet militarists. It's basically a tiny Autobot; it can be its quadrupedal form or retract into a ball when asleep or threatened. This particular model has many interesting features. This extremely expensive yet sturdy machine's mechanical prototypes started as the size of a baseball before it's pea-sized consumer products. When retracted into spherical form, its reinforced steel is strong enough to withstand 4000 kg of weight. At this form it is also waterproof to depths of 30m. It's heatproof shielding can stand about 900 degrees F. It's tiny camera is about 4 megapixels of colored (or cheaper colorless) footage of 10 frames per second as well as a simple microphone. The camera can rotate 70 degrees vertically both ways. Horizontal rtation is done by the legs. When expanded, it unfolds its geared internal carbon legs. which allows it to walk at about 1 cm per second, moving one leg at a time. Unfortunately, the mechanics of the legs cannot lift any more than 3 times ti robot's weight, so it cannot break its fall. So it's built sock-resistant of up to 5 m. Since it's about the size of an airsoft BB, there isn't enough room for any AI inside the machine. So it gets its thinking and power from a satellite. The satellite can process information to and from the Spheroid so it can tell it to retract if the Spheroid records danger to the satellite. Its almost seamless retraction makes it nearly impossible to be pried open. Internal locks keep enemies with tools from unscrewing to side caps off. All this is why the spheroid can cost up to US$2 Million per unit in addition to software to communicate with the satellite, which still needs permission from the government, an precision construction of each individual Spheroid.

Early concepts had segments of the shell as part of the legs, which caused the Spheroid to jam upon retraction if the legs were scratched. They also had a tiny gun to shoot a small, hot, painful spark to buy time for an escape, but would lead to the robot's overheating, and time was spent getting the gun charged --- which also drained energy.

Here is my Finished 1/100 Master Grade Jesta model. Hand painted and weathered, with the exception of flat black, primer (krylon) and spray top coat (testors dull) I built this kit as a nice diversion from 1/35(and a procrastination project, as I should of been building a diorama) This kit was pretty dang incredible and allot of fun to paint, put together, and of course play with XD  For the most part I built him "outta the box" swapped beam saber color and gave him old MG handguns and a knife.

MG gundam kits have always been a bit intimidating to me. They contain allot of parts (moving parts too) are pretty complex and there is allot to screw up. Years ago I built a few MG's without paint and thought I would never reach a level where  could paint one. Anyways with this build I wanted to keep it simple and not take too much on. While I had a bunch of smaller mistakes and I am not incredibly impressed with some of my effects, I am pretty proud of what I was able to accomplish on this one. Being a bit unsatisfied is a good thing as it will make me want to do even better on the next one of these I build.

Anyways I built this guy in the hopes of getting tons of pictures of him. This weekend I hope to see how he does outside and do a bit more of a goofy photo shoot. I got a few more "accessories" I am working on for him that will be done this weekend if the weather is good......

Questions, comments and suggestions welcome!

Technical and Historical Notes

The FMM-1X is an experimental MS project, that eventually turned in what is known as the first “Mobile Armor”, term that describes a giant mobile weapon that isn’t antropomorphic in shape. Designed by Ben Greehm and financed by the royal families supporting Xebac, the Nighthawk combines the speed of a space fighter with the versatility of a MS. The complexity and the cost of producing this unit led to Feinsilber almost droping the task, but later reconsidered thanks to Benjamin, who encouraged the engineering team to continue with the prototype. Initially just a MA, until Benjamin realizes that it could hide ms parts in-between the fuselage, that could be conected to joints which could enable the ship to “transform” into a MS. Altough capable of its MS form, the Nighthawk was primarily a space fighter, using its MS mode for special tasks that require interaction with objects. In that cases the MS manipulators come in handy. Other than that, the MS mode is not a good option to fight, in the sense that cannot make use of the machine fullest potential. Its armament was a high output laser cannon(which uses many parts in common with the Kwalen’s rifle) and a set of two heat seekers missile launchers. Both of them could be used in MA or MS mode. The Nighthawk weak arms could only handle small, light weight weapons, therefore was only equipped with a small knife that rarely used. A preproduction of three prototypes was projected, but only two of them were assembled while the unassembled one was used as spare parts source. The MA/MS concept did not catch the developers interest for future investments, and they rather prefered to separate the MA concept from the MS, producing them separately. Despite all of that, Benjamin Greehm was not willing to accept that his concept was a bad idea and was(and sure even is now) looking for investors for an improved version of this experimental craft.

This is the PGA-07 Fenrir. The best close support GA money can buy. Its an I/X-07 [link] armor with rack upon rack of detachable missile pods, a 50mm gatling cannon, and six 30mm autocannon. This baby carries an array of depleted uranium, incendiary, and smart burst ammunition for all the cannons outfitted to this armor. This unit is also capable of carrying 400 micro-guided rockets, and 200 micro-missiles, with different kinds of rockets for different situations. Its got anti-air, anti-personnel, anti-radar, napalm, amphibious, and space use missiles. Interior missile bays are capable of carrying guns, blades, more missiles/rockets, and even bombs to get the job done. This entire unit is shrouded in plasma stealth technology to shrink the radar cross-section to that of a car in the sky. This unit carries so much ammo that extended use in combat is too costly to maintain, so only selected squadrons are allowed to use these regularly in combat. The Zenith Squadron is the main utilizer of these units.

Performane:
Land- 90~ mph
Marine- 20 Knots
Air- 400 MPH (Range of 1500 square miles)

This is the PGA-01 Azure. An experimental fighting GA in the Zenith Squadron. Though the paint scheme may be unconventional, there are no regulations on specific paint schemes for elite squadrons such as the Zenith Squadron. This armor is based off the I-07's ([link]) muscular frame and modified from the I/MC-07's ([link]) exterior armor plating. The main differences include the experimental FEATHER flight system, which uses multiple variable wings to increase lift, reduce drag, and increase mobility during flight. Like the I/MC-07 it utilizes experimental beam weaponry, but it also uses a newer foot design. This design is akin to the prosthesis that are used by double amputees to regain their ability to walk. In exchange they are lighter and faster due to the lost weight. Aside from the external modifications to the armor itself this unit is the one of only GAs on active duty to have an incorporated AI system giving the pilot capabilities that most humans would never achieve on their own: increased accuracy, further mobility through a more advanced fly by wire system, path prediction/limited precognition for cqc.

Performance:
Land- 120~MPH
Marine- 45 knots
Air- 1000 MPH (With a range of 3000 square miles)

The PGA-02 Undine is another experimental GA in use with the Zenith Squadron. It is another well rounded fighting unit such as the PGA-01 [link] but minus the load of experimental weaponry and a surplus of practical modifications. such as extended thruster bays on the flight pack and added internal missile bays. The Undine is usually fitted with a sniper modification to its universal GA battle rifle and a folding tactical fixed to its left arm. The Undine features a fixed AI system much like the one fitted on the PGA-01 for enhanced combat capabilities. However unlike the Azure, the undine's archetypical frame is the I/X-07 [link] giving this unit a more stealthy cross section than the Azure.

Morning folks! Another brand new full color 5th gen FOIL beastie happinin' now! Here's the full paint of the, previously posted as line work, Atra Satus. You can view the earlier line art posting here: [link]

The Atra Satus is an early 5th generation FOIL so this example has actually seen quite a bit of action, which is evidenced by the amount of wear and tear the machine has. As many of the late 4th gen and 5th gen FOILs have this machine has the nano-mesh armored covering that acts much like a flexible fabric but is actually incredibly resilient and resistant to many of the previously employed offensive FOIL weaponry. This isn't to say the FOIL can't still be damaged in an attack, it's just that this mysterious new form of armor was quite effective and soon became one of the defining visual cues of a 5th gen machine. It should be noted though that most of the 5th gen FOILs that have been shown so far are, more or less, the stock configuration. All of the circular ports you typically see on a 5th gen's limbs are actually caps for equipment ports for adding custom armor or additional gear. If the FOIL crew wants additional armor beyond the nano-mesh then they can deck the FOIL out even further. Examples of this will likely appear later this year.

Also of note are the reactive armor plates on the shoulders, hip armor, and calves. These plates look relatively cleaner and newer than the rest of the FOIL, this is due to the fact that the reactive plates are often rotated out once they reach a point of instability (if they aren't detonated in an attack first of course), thus they must have recently added new plates to this machine. Another thing of note is the apparent lack of swords seen with many 5th gen FOILs, this is due to the changing nature of FOIL warfare and the new threat that the 5th gen machines were designed to counter. FOILs began to shift to shettier weaponry and other forms of gear, however many 5th gen crews still retained their love of the blade so the sword was, by no means, abandoned as a FOIL weapon.

This guy got the full scuffing up treatment and has a pile of layers of just dirt and rust tones, both opaque and in multiply mode. Also a return to more military paints rather than the kicky-go-faster vibe of the Mana Vishu. There's a lot of subtle and obvious textures on this one, so a full view is best to see all that, again...

>>> Transmission start.... continued FOILology as we drop the updated Kunst Flam FOIL in full color paint. The line art version can be seen here: [link]

DOWNLOAD for hi-resolution

The Jiendel-Gavil Kunst Flam (Artful Note or Drumbeat) 3rd gen models were built during a time of technological experimentation and visual flamboyance in FOIL design. The Kunst Flam were medium CAV FOILs with a sleek light frame built for speed and lighting strikes. The Kunst Flam was labeled a CAV (Cavalry) FOIL but was more than capable in multiple roles and infantry duties (FOILs, in general, typically were but those specifically carrying the CAV moniker were often upheld as true stars of combat; political maneuvering by the edge of the blade in the fog of war).

The machine pictured here is T.A.C. number Alpha 42 decked out in a forest/winter style camo pattern. The nose art shows a blue "Fire Wolf". Right behind the yellow nose marking, under the Fire Wolf, is a faded collection of kill markings (Yellow Eye of SOL suns, thus making this a Vulne Consortium machine, though unmarked as such). The custom head cowl on this model is one of the Jiendel Gavil fixed style. Often these custom heads would have some kind of visual flourishes derived from long forgotten art movements of humanities past mixed with the trends current in SOL at the time. Here we have some slight touches of futurist cuts and curves in the forward face area. Staying true to it's name, the "artful notes" are present.

The Kunst Flam was a very popular combat platform with FOIL crews (both faedai and human pilots alike) and the 3rd gen models were still in service all the way into the 5th gen period, so many Kunst Flams had over 100 years in the field (not nonstop mind you). Many of these FOILs were gobbled up by aristocratic collectors and FOIL pilots that acquired enough wealth to move into collecting in their retirement from the field. This was a very coveted model.

The example here is a Kunst Flam that participated in the Siege of the Black Son. Many older FOILs were brought back into service to help face the terrifying threat the faced Polemon's during that time. Equipped with many new sensors and devices to combat their mysterious new enemies quite a few of these older generation FOILs fought ferociously when the siege began.

This is an updated version of the original Kunst Flam full paint design (it needed an update pretty badly): [link]

This one was a blast to paint so there are a lot of subtle details in the weathering, markings, etc. Please hit DOWNLOAD for a full resolution view.

Detailed and refined ink based off of pencil thumbnail (likely to be posted in a batch later). Colors on Photoshop CS3.

First full paint Theos combat FOIL for 2013... for Febuary we get the Oshen-Dies Mana Vishu in sexy red with go faster stripes livery.

The Mana Vishu is another 5th gen high performance combat FOIL. The, now familiar, visual cues are all to be seen here; covered limbs with customization ports, aggressively sleek aeroframe body with an emphasis on speed and visually implied forward momentum (some fractal futurist/cubist surfaces), an enigmatic sensor array (the device with the forward antennae behind the head cowl), and performance stats tailored toward a mysterious new looming threat. This is another example of renowned taedus and FOIL manufacturer Oshen teaming up with it's former main competitor (in terms of sheer quality though still unmatched by Oshen) in order to meet this looming perceived threat with the best technology Polemos has to offer in order to confront it. Oshen was a proactive force in developing the 5th generation evolution of FOILs. Many suspected Oshen had inside information regarding the threat that was coming and, thus, took bold steps to prepare. Another example of the Oshen-Dies partnership is the RES CM Nal-Farbute FOIL seen here: [link]

I had fun working on this one, been wanting to do another red one for some time and this seemed perfect for it.
