Spacey render. First new work in nearly 3 months. As I said in my latest journal, I wanted to create a more minamalistic render, but it just didn't turn out that way. Just goes to show: I never really know where a new work will lead me.
I've finally decided that it was time to get myself a copy of Maxwell Render after seeing all the mindbendingly awesome Maxwell renders popping up all over the place. The quality of this renderer simply blows away anything I've ever used before.
The idea of a 3d rendering program simulating the real properties of light and its interaction with physical matter at absolute 100% physical accuracy is something truly amazing. The renderer is rather slow, and it brought my quadcore render workstation to its knees. My poor workstation is used to churning out a print sized vray render within minutes, but this image took 11h 02m 07s to render at 3456 x 2304 (8 megapixel) I think you will agree that this sort of quality is worth waiting for...
another abstract wallpaper. really for more practice with topmod. i was trying to recreate the infamous linking stars although I've never seen the tutorial for it. didn't quite get it, but here's my version. was simple to make! so most likely tmrw, i'll upload a tut. on how to make this obj in topmod, along with a tut on how to make Renascent in topmod as well. 1920 x1200 made in topmod and c4d, rendered with arion render, edited in photoshop. critiques welcome!
