So this is totally going to bite me in the ass. I have been awake since yesterday at 10:30 am. I can't go to bed now or I won't sleep tonight which I need to because I have a long day at work tomorrow.
On the bright side-- look at what I finished! This is the beautiful Estonian model Carmen Kass. Don't you just love her bored expression? Plus her neck is obscenely long and I find that very attractive on a woman.

Inspired by my favorite movie of all time-- Edward Scissorhands. I used to watch this movie at least once a day every single day for over a year at one point. You can't go wrong with Johnny Depp.. I love him!
Lots of stippling for his textured skin. I chose this photo because of all the texture and I wanted to capture the sense of innocence in his eyes and his vulnerable expression.

A LITTLE NOTE AND SOME INFO - I've had several people ask how I got the black so black, I actually get this question all the time, so I thought if I did it in a video it might be a good idea The video isn't the best, but you can see what's going on, it was a livestream so it stops and starts a little bit I'm redrawing part of the left side glove. The pencils I used were, in this order, 2H, 2B, 4B and 6B. 10 min version - www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZUDag… 5 min version - www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyvrYN…

I'm finally almost finished with my prizes, just one more ATC to go
This one is for for catching my 50K kiriban. I hope you like it The scan has wiped out some of the darkness and details because of the high contrast But thankfully Ariel you'll get to see them in the flesh

Materials: A4 Mellotex (minus a 1cm border for framing) Graphite - 3H to 6B and 8B Mars Lumo Eraser BluTack Time: Somewhere between 10-12 hours The ref was provided by the commissioner. It's, as always, not scanning especially well, but it's close enough EDIT: I've uploaded a slightly better scan, the last one was bothering me
Did try to work more spontaneous on this on (rust on the car, foliage, folds on the dress etc), with mixed results...
overall i'm happy with this, but I'm not very good with foliage, as i don't (yet) have a very good understanding of it (structure etc) so the leafs got more blurry then i intended, and the grass/ground...well, i guess practice is much needed :/
Drawing is about a3 in size and i have basically used a b2 mech. pencil with the occasional b3 for further shading and b8 +f (for burnishing) for some of the darkest parts
Charcoal-drawing after a photo from weirdmee ([link]) I love her b/w photos, and i'm happy i could use one as a ref for a drawing Thanks
