Experience – it’s hard to evaluate it, yet society always likes to impose that more is definitely better than less. Try to look at it, this way: If a human mind is a blank sheet of paper that expands with time, experience is drawings or text on it. We can write with all kinds of tools – pencils, pens, markers, ink, vanishing ink, even blood or mud – anything works.
Things written with graphite pencils are memories, that don’t change much in our lives; they fade with time and smudge till it’s hard to tell what exactly was written there. Random skills, we learned and never used afterwards, nice stories and books, which were nothing more than a pastime, funny observations that did nothing more than amuse us a bit. Things like that. Of course, sometimes we press the pencil harder or use a hard graphite, that doesn’t quite smudge that easily – those are things, that we had difficulty to remember at a point, but needed to no matter how useless
