And pull out a rusty knife
Run it through the fire
Burning until you tire
Take a bite of bloody essence
Breathing in the smoking incense
Drinking up the murky lies
Choking on a poisonous high
Wrap your body in a cloak of darkness
Open your sown mouth to confess
Rip the stitches one by one
Letting words flow until they're done
Your body is cold
Comprised of ice and stone
Your soul is gone already
Lacking it has made you deadly
Heart so big and bleeding
Caged and captured, never fleeing
Barbed wire wrapping round and round
A keyhole, with no key to be found
A mind full of thoughtless voices
Flinging out so many choices
See the light at the end of the tunnel
But in the end we always stumble~

And let me in
Open up your heart
And lets begin
I see the broken places
The shattered windows of your soul
I see the damage traces
I can fix that hole
Open up your heart
And let me feel
Open up your heart
Understand that this is real
I see the cuts and bruises
I can repair those with time
I see the past abuses
I detest those crimes
Open up your heart
I brought the super glue
Open up your heart
I know what to do
I feel your pain
And I know the cure
I understand the shame
I know you're unsure
Open up your heart
I have your medicine
Open up your heart
Just let me in
Let me kiss all the hurt away
Let me hug the nightmares to nothing
Use me if you need something to blame
I know this is a hard thing
Open up your heart to me
You could say I was sent from above
Open your heart to me
I am the angel of love

Blades of gory glory out for show
Dead eyes set in a stare
As death releases its red drawn bow
Dropped into the river Styx
Clawing hands pulling you down
Ignoring the hold on your crucifix
Uncaring and letting you drown
Bleeding from your outstretched hands
No one caring for sweet sacrifice
Sucked into unrelenting quick sand
Betting on fates thrown dice
They say life flashes before your eyes
In the last seconds of your breath
Guardian Angel really death in disguise
A single heart beat is all you have left
Then your corpse sinks to the floor
A puddle of crimson spreading out
Demons clawing and reaching to bring you through the fiery doors
You can't escape, there hands, muffling your shout

Down ShiftThere is this weight on my chestDown Shift in Free Verse More Like This
A hand in my rib cage
Wrapped tightly around my heart
Leaving no room for my lungs to expand
Slowly, slowly I'm losing all my breath
My eyes are beginning to respond
Leaking water from some reserve in my soul
An endless supply of crystal clear drops
Warm and salty running down by gravity
There is a sickness in my gut
The need to vomit comes and goes when it wants
Like someone hit the eject button
But it got stuck and now it won't come up
My heart feels tight, claustrophobic in it's place
A tumble of razor wire wrapped around it tight
Piercing the vulnerable flesh beneath
Allowing warm, irony blood to seep out of its confines
My eyes don't know what to do
Because their only view is through cracked and dirty lenses
The edges of our world have become fuzzy
And below us, there is a hole in the ground
Like a gaping mouth, waiting to swallow us whole

And you just know that's not how it works
You get left in the end
And nobody even wonders why
You don't believe in life after death
you don't believe in the fellowship that everyone claims to have
You can only believe in hate
The sad thing is, that's the only real thing to you
Physical pain lets you know that you're alive
That emotional turmoil lets you know that you're not a failure
Because you can take it and survive
You learn to hate and along side that something else
You realize that in this world
There is a slight balance
Where there was once a dark cold void inside your heart
Grows a warm feeling, something you can hold onto
You can't name it, cause you don't understand
Its foreign to you and you search for what it could possibly be
You start to hear people talk about it
And the word cycles through your thoughts like its set on repeat
And when you finally realize what that warm feeling is
You latch onto it
You don't want to ever lose it or forget

Stuck feeling like a convict
In a world that makes me physically sick
In a world that makes absolutely no sense
On the balance between a right and wrong fence
Carrying wounds I can't cleanse
I want it all to be fixed
Without having to use all these fancy tricks
Or hear the echo of a gun when the trigger clicks
Now lets tell each other our last good night
Tuck each other into bed tight
And watch as our monsters turn out the light

Let your resolve crumble
This is my hit

You let out a scream
I lunge into the air
And you pray this is a dream
I'm sorry to tell you
This is not your imagination

Your blood splashes the virgin snow
Your breath leaves your chest
And you don't even know
This is the end for you
Your dying cry still echoing
While your skin is turning blue
You hear the demons scream
Observers- BBC Sherlock x Reader Chpt. 67Faint violin music resounded from the closed door to your room when John returned the next morning and he cocked his head to the side in thought before swinging it open. The room was covered in a plethora of paper animals, a good number of them cranes, and a symphony John recognized filled the air. You were sitting cross-legged in the middle of the hospital bed, your fingers busy folding yet another animal, and Sherlock was in the chair next to you with his feet kicked up on your bed and his eyes closed, violin and bow in hand.Observers- BBC Sherlock x Reader Chpt. 67 in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Every room was trashed as you moved through them to get a cursory overview of the first floor, going from the front living room to the kitchen, then to a spare bedroom, and finally a small office. Sherlock paused here, something catching his eye as he crouched to examine a few of the many papers scattered about the floor, and you and John exchanged a glance before slipping back into the main room to let him think. You took in the destruction of the room as John wandered into the kitchen and then had a thought- his studio.

You shook your head, “Something’s not right. He fits the profile, same erratic stabbing pattern and similar features to the other two victims, but he didn’t live here… I just have this strange feeling that something is off. I can’t place it.”
Sherlock nodded, going back to his own deductions, “The other two victims were killed in their own living spaces. This is his sister’s house.”

That was the only thought on your mind as you stirred, shoving all the blankets off of your body and rolling to a seated position. You could have just slept there with the water running over you, it was so nice, but you forced yourself out, pulling on some new pajamas before going to the kitchen.
Being sick was the worst you decided, rubbing gently at your sore throat as you put a pot on stove for a honey drink your mother had taught you to make years ago. You had just finished emptying almost an entire bottle of honey into the pot when your ears were met with the sound of your door being flung open, “(F/n)?”

The Karakum Basin Proving Grounds were located over two hundred kilometres east of Galatean City, and were one of several areas where mercenaries could go to test weapons and-or engage in wargames and military exercises. A unit had to book in advance (or have connections to get a slot at the last minute) and of course there were the inevitable fees, but most mercs found the cost to be more than worth it. There's only so much you can do in a simulator. There's no substitute for the real world.

The fact that it would be a chance at desert warfare was a bonus since no-one in the group had done it before. Both the APC and Alexandra's aircar were parked one in front of the other, with the Fusiliers lounging in the vehicles, chatting, or pacing while they waited for Shearling to land.
In one of life's weird moments and completely against all expectation, the would-be assassin had been found. Well, presumed would-be assassin if you wanted to get all technical about it, because the suspect was dead and couldn't be questioned. A massive, non-stop investigation had turned up the presence of someone in the city whose records were suspicious. A man who had not arrived with the three current visiting DropShips, but who'd been a passenger aboard the Europa

The Fusiliers combat exercises at the Karakum Basin Proving Grounds had been called off and rescheduled, to no-one's surprise. The duel may have been legal but a man had still died. Enemy or not, only the most callous of individuals could witness such a violent death and brush it off as nothing. Nobody was in the mood for training. They returned to the city and tried to put the day's events behind them.
Everyone had been enormously relieved and grateful and happy that Garadun had survived, not able to fully relax until his Hunchback had marched back into the hangar and powered down. Cera greeted him with a long, tight hug, followed by the rest of their friends. Alexandra hugged him almost as long as Cera did, so relieved was she that he hadn't gotten himself killed. Garadun wasn't proud that he'd killed another human being. But he was content with the fact that one of his enemies

Garadun switched off the holorecorder, removed the datachip, and relaxed on his bed with his back to the wall. Wasp and Stinger were playing and wrestling, interspersed with periods of chasing each other around the room. Their little legs were deceptive; they could move darned fast when they wanted to.
He drew up his right knee, tapping the datachip against it thoughtfully. He felt like a spy in one of the TBC's popular espionage thrillers. Before he'd left Solaris he'd made an agreement with Igawa to keep the oyabun informed of how things were going with Cera and Sayuki; Igawa in turn would inform their families. This was only his second message. The first had been a few days after they arrived on Galatea and he hadn't said anything beyond the basics. Hi, we're here, we're looking for work, the planet's bloody hot that sort of thing.
In this second message the Fusiliers' new contract was

It wasn't an easy thing saying goodbye but Alexandra didn't have a choice. She'd been blessed with having Nebula and Pulsar living with her in her spacious quarters for two weeks (rooms which had belonged to her parents) but now that time was over. Distant Memory had made the final jump and they were in the Kolovraty system. It was time for the Fighting Fusiliers to begin the last stage of their journey.
It had been a tough decision, especially with so many crewmembers volunteering to look after the kittens, but Alexandra had settled on Midshipman Camille Brown to take the responsibility of becoming their new parent. They were the ship's mascots and technically belonged to everyone, but they couldn't be bounced from cabin to cabin, especially at their tender age. Camille was elated and swore she would do everything she could to make sure they were raised in a loving envir

The investigation into the sabotage of Garadun's Hunchback was given top priority by order of Duke Sheridan, who was outraged at the brazen and cowardly attempt on the man's life. One BattleMech destroyed, a highly respected MechWarrior wounded, severe damage to the military base, and dozens of lives put at risk. If the Hunchback had exploded while inside the hangar instead of out on the tarmac
There was no question that it had been a bomb. Fusion engines simply don't blow themselves to bits for no reason. A small section of the perimeter fence had been found to be cut open, and thanks to the snowy ground there were footprints. Someone had definitely sneaked onto the base. The fence was repaired and Colonel Phillips gave the security teams a dressing-down for letting an enemy intruder get past them. All security protocols were now under review and he wanted them improv

Even on chilly Kolovraty winter can't hold on forever. At least for the comparatively warmer equatorial regions anyway. After eight long standard months, winter was finally beginning to let go its grip on the Inn Valley. The days were warmer, the snow was melting, and farmers were looking forward to spring so they could plant crops.
The Innsbruck Militia was supposed to be on an increased state of alert because of the new war with the Draconis Combine, but Colonel Phillips and Duke Sheridan had far more important matters to deal with; namely getting their newly-acquired BattleMechs repaired and finding or training MechWarriors to pilot them. The war was regarded as something happening far away and of no concern to the citizens of Kolovraty. Which was what Duke Sheridan said when he went on a live broadcast and made an address to his people. The dispatches he'd received informing him of the

In the universe, there are an infinite number of dimensions, an infinite number of realities where people of different species go about their lives, most utterly oblivious to the fact that such an infinite number of possibilities exist. For those who do know, this knowledge is more often than not considered to be too mind-bendingly overwhelming to think about, and they do their best to ignore it, usually over a hot cup of tea.
But this story is not about any such people.
The ones in this story are completely unaware that they have lived many different lives, being reborn again and again, destined to be the best of friends, bosom buddies, two peas in a pod you get the idea. Their names are Cera and Garadun. These names were given to them when they first came into existence, and they've been stuck with them in one form or another through all their various lives. Let it not be said that Fate doesn't h

As you got closer to the tent, you stopped occasionally to admire what the vendors had to offer. Necklaces made from strange stones, candles that had foreign scents, cloths with textures you had never felt before, all of it was so strange and so wonderful at the same time.
You noticed however, that many, no- most of the elves you talked with looked at you with a hint of sadness in their eyes. You didn't notice at first. It was probably because they felt sorry for you, or at least so you thought.
You hesitantly pushed open the covering to the entrance of the large tent. The room seemed to be completely transformed from what it had been last night. There were almost no people in there, the lanterns were gone, and so was the joyful

It almost sounded like some-one was speaking to you. "Wake up!"
You fluttered your eyes open for just a moment, seeing someone hover over you. 'Jane?' you thought. 'No, can't be...'
Suddenly you heard the voice loud and clear. "WAKE UP DAMMIT!" and a strong slap connected with your face. Your eyes flew open, a thousand thoughts flying through your head all at once. You bolted to a sitting position, ready to fight whoever just slapped you.
Every single one of those thoughts stopped when you saw where you were.

Your eyes widened. Odin, Thor's father? You had heard from Thor about what a intimidating man he was. Why did he want to talk to you, of all people?
Sif seemed to sense your thoughts. "Fear not. The King just wants to be introduced to you is all. Apparently, Thor has talked much of you to his father."

You felt some sadness. You didn't have a chance to say goodbye to everyone. There were still so many things you wanted to do, places you wanted to see. You couldn't feel the tears at the corner of your eyes, but you somehow still knew they were there.
You were slipping away, your grip on life fading gently. You weren't afraid. It was a little intimidating, the thought of death. Yet at the same time, you were peaceful with it.
As long as you had saved Loki from himself. That was what mattered.
Thoughts seemed to float through your mind endlessly. You with your parents, smiling and laughing like the child you were. Then, when you were 12, kneeling at the sight of the car crash, your head in your hand, crying. Jane, smiling, looking like an angel. She had saved you.

Speaking of which.
"Where is Thor?" You asked Steve, who sat across from you at the breakfast table, reading the morning newspaper. Apparently it was a daily habit of hid, which made total sense.
It had been a few days since Loki and your capture by SHEILD. By pestering Steve and Tony and Clint, you managed to find out he was being kept in a compound deep beneath Stark Tower, only accessible through top security clearance, meaning the Avengers, Fury, and a handful of SHEILD agents.
In those few days, you relayed to everyone the adventures you and Loki had during the past year. Most of the avengers were cautious, still, but Tony was fascinated with your story and the worlds you visited. Bruce, however, had only listened for the first

As soon as you set foot in the room where the three were, you were bombarded by shouts and hugs from the warriors three. Volstagg refrained from capturing you in a bear hug because of your injury, but could barely contain his joy nonetheless. Sif quickly filled them in on your planned visit to Loki. Fandrall and Volstagg immediately objected, protesting about Loki's instability and your safety. Your wrists had been shackled to the stone wall, and as much as you had tried, you could not budge them. The cold sank in quickly. You, wearing only a light dress, quickly began to freeze. Loki seemed to have vanished. You didn't try to call him, knowing he wouldn't answer anyways.
This entire thing, it seemed like a dream. Part of you refused to believe it was happening. Loki wouldn't do this. His threat to kill you had been an empty one. Soon, he would come back and set you free, and you two would be swallowed by the sunset.

Calister glanced down at you and smiled. "To one of our Goddess's temples. Magic always is amplified near a temple or on holy ground, and being out here draws less attention."
You nodded, and looked down at your hands. It was finally happening. You were headed home, back to Jane and your friends. It seemed almost too good to be true.

You are better than your bloods history

In the form of a triangle
Able to be harmonized
If sung from different angles
Sounds that are so sweet
Flats and sharps in all
Until one little high note
Really began to fall
One corner became weak
Voice cracking in the air
Changing the lyrics
Making everything seem unfair
Take two away from the three
And you will always end up with one
Only two hearts have victory
Leaving the last with none
On an empty plain field
The triangle is now a dot
Unable to sing anymore
Despising the pain a lot
It was the odd one out
No room for its voice anywhere
Let alone its unconditional love
Love it could no longer bear
The Song of a Third
Is now one of sorrow
The corner hoping the others will return
If not today, maybe tomorrow…

the way her dark tangelled hair falls around her shoulders makes my heart ache. if only i could run my fingers through it and show her how amazing she looks.
she has pale skin and red cheeks, wide eyes that are sometimes green and sometimes brown, and dark eyelashes that she wishes were longer.
she talks to me about love sometimes. tells me how she's too broken to care, too scared to want to. i tell her that love could heal her cuts and bruises if only she'd let it. but she won't.
if i could tell her how gently i'd handle her heart and for how long i'd hold onto her essence maybe she'd understand what love is about. but she's never really been in love has she? not like this.

'You've never really felt pain, until you've lost everything' he murmured, his eyes fixed on the dirt between our feet. 'You've never really had your heart broken if you can put the pieces back together.' He paused, taking a small sip from an almost empty wine glass and continued with his drunken monologue.
'You've never really learnt to appreciate their hands if the hands of another don't make you sick to your stomach, and you never understood the way they smelt unless you can smell it on your pillows'
He looked up at me, his face wistful and his grey eyes reflecting the cigarette he held in his hand and stared right though me as he muttered.
'And you know what, you've never really been in love if you can learn to love another'
He doesn't like the way he looks anymore. His once smooth skin is now a victim to his grief, to gravity and to his old age. His hair, growing more and more grey with each day that passes had once been dense and thick, dark brown - framing his luri

You're lucky as hell but to me you're a c***.

Evading the probes of an alien race,
Then having to witness your > : ( angry face...
But what choice have I? I'm involved in these fights,
With Cancerous space-monsters full of red sprites,
And Lemonade weirdos and God knows what next,
Just how can you stay so serene and unvexed?
What price should I pay for your simple delights,
Be eaten by whales after soiling my whites?
I know you won't listen, but you'll come unstuck,
And one of these days you'll run right out of luck,
Your empire will fall, and your ego besides,
It's karma for sure, like the turn of the tides,
And then I will lol, sitting in my own muck,
Coz after all this I just won't give a f***.
The Kraken's SeaThe Kraken's Sea:The Kraken's Sea in Free Verse More Like This
In the deepest night our ship was sailing
Quietly through the moonlit sea.
Until we saw the monstrosity rising
'By the gods, it couldn't be!'
From the watery depths we heard it shriek;
Tendrils arcing toward the sky.
Like harpoons cast toward the heavens
The time for battle was nigh.
My crew prepared the starboard cannons
As I steered my ship through the rumbling tide.
The vicious whirpool which drew us in,
Was the abyss in which the beast would hide.
Soon it began to strike at us;
Tentacles lashing like deadly whips!
Several times we were nearly broken
As it clicked and smacked its horrid lips...
'Fire!' I screamed as the cannons roared
Each one delivering a ball of death.
I watched as its skin puckered and burst
My heart racing with every breath...
The creature thrashed and writhed about
As its painful fury scattered the sea!
But slowly we watched it slink away
And our hearts lit up with glee.
Our grins soon turned to garish laughs
As we whooped
The Wolven PrideThe Wolven Pride:The Wolven Pride in Free Verse More Like This
We are hunted down as monsters;
By legends demonised.
We are feared as devilish creatures
In your pitiful human eyes...
But let me try and teach you
Of why we do not fear.
Because we actually enjoy it
When the hunters seek us here.
In the forest we are champions
In the night we rule the lands.
The hunter becomes the hunted
And dies by our hands.
Fangs will pierce his fragile throat
His flesh is torn to shreds.
It is the fear and scent of death
That the hunter truly dreads.
But we alone shall know no fear
For by the moon we shall be blessed.
Draped in Luna's loving embrace;
We bet our life with every breath.
That is who we are.
The wolven pride of werewolves
Is arrogance from afar.
Viewed by trembling creatures
Wetting themselves in fright.
We appear as snarling punishers
In the glory of the night.
Here in the deepest shadows
Where the light will never reach.
We silence the mouths of humans
For we tire of what they preach:

The great betrayers of faith.
We bear the mark of our sinful past
This ancient scar of hate.
We wear it proudly upon our backs
The fur that's ashen grey.
The sign that we have sold our kin
To live another day...
We werewolves live as tyrant beings;
Immortal as we please...
But we alone are forced to bear
This fetid filthy disease.
It eats away at flesh and bone
Until all that's left is sludge.
Lost alone in horrid pain;
Through empty days we trudge.
But we have learnt a secret way
To stop our bitter end...
As long as we can steal a pup
From our blessed neighbour's den.
The Thunder Wolves, the Shadow Hunters
It matters not the choice.
As long as we can feast on flesh
We alone rejoice!
The trembling change that overcomes
It charges through our frame.
Granted now unholy strength;
We howl in the rain...
We are Greybacks, Traitors all!
But you have made us thus.
Now we shall begin our vengeance
And you will sate our lust.

The moans of the shambling horde could be heard
As zombies burst from the depths of the tomb
The Pirates were trapped within the mausoleum;
Caught in the center of a Demon's womb...
It spawned a horror with each contraction
A shuffling parody of tainted life
With flesh that hung in sallow strips;
Carved with the edge of a pus-dripping knife
As more of the beasts spewed forth from the depths
The Captain called for a spark of light
As Haze scattered the explosive dust
A match was thrown to make it ignite
Boom! it exploded with a shock of force
As the Pirates were thrown to the dirty floor
They cleared the space in front of them
But more of the creatures were blocking the door...
"We'll make a run for it, fast as we can.
I refuse to die, by a deadman's hand."
The Captain grinned for he saw the way
A single path to the light of day...
As they dashed for the door; cleaving a path
The Captain scattered some oil from a flask.

How many of you will remember the days when we were told to hide?

We would cower in holes like tiny rats whilst our parents acted strong
The Dragon would burn our homes away and all would turn to dust and ash
Our entire lives would be swallowed up! In a single crimson flash...
It used to be a time of darkness, where a man would live in constant fear
Yet we have found a special way, to protect the lives that we hold dear

As the fog began to form.
Silence soon surrounded us
Like a calm before the storm.
In the darkest distance; against the light
I could hear a haunting melody.
It seemed to sound like a Siren's call
Coming from across the sea.
Immediately my crew reacted
As we dove beneath the deck.
Wool and wax to plug the ears
And ropes to tie me back.
As a Captain of this Pirate ship
My duty was plain to see.
Tied to the mast as a sacrifice
Was where I soon would be.
For one alone must endure the call
Else the Siren would not sing.
This had been a long tradition
Since the time of the Pirate King.
A swig of rum would steel the soul;
With a prayer of mercy from the crew.
Left alone upon the deck
It was like a private dinner for two.
'Come with me, my little sailor,'
Her voice did whisper in my mind
'I alone will give you pleasure,
For I alone am kind...'
Indeed she was an enchanting creature

The demonkin arose from this artificial scar, fueled only by their need to destroy
The forces of darkness laughed at us blatantly, for this had been their devious ploy!
Serogar shook his head and cried piteously, for this was not the world of which he had dreamed
He roared defiantly at the creatures of darkness and met them bravely as he screamed:

Abandoned by all I loved unconditionally
The rain pours down, soaking my matted hair
I don't have the strength anymore to crawl to shelter
My face lies half in the wet dirt, but I don't care
My body is beaten and bruised,
Punished for some crime I didn't know I'd committed
I whimper, wondering with tears in my eyes
Why they don't love me anymore
The heartbroken ache is worse than the beatings
I cry alone on the side of the road
Shivering in the cold, pouring rain
Dimly I hear a car pull up, but I don't care anymore
I am not loved by those I love
Strangers rush over and stroke my head
At last I look up with dejection, one eye gumming closed
They take me and place me in their nice warm car
Wrapping me in a towel against the cold outside
They rescue me in my rejected state
But I don't care anymore,
Those I loved abandoned me to the rain and cold
Silent tears roll down my cheeks in a stranger's car

But the gauge still said the same thing.
She wondered if it was broken, and had converted to Fahrenheit while she slept. But no, there was the little symbol for Centigrade, looking like a copyright – the temperature was without a doubt 21 degrees.
She looked for a window so she could see outside for herself, but of course that habit was useless. She was in space. Spaceships had no windows. Not in bedrooms, anyway.
She made a snap decision and lurched out of bed, dragging the thermal blanket with her. She didn’t know why she bothered looking at the temperature, why she hoped that it would change one day, just a degree in either direction. There was no day and night, and no atmospherics to go with them.
